Steel your mind. Run on instinct.
Relief was the sensation that washed over Stella as she watched as her attack stalled the enemy Boscan soldier long enough for Red to take his next form. As her friend spoke out thanking her for the time she’d bought him the mage couldn’t help but smile, not only was she smiling because she’d kept her friend safe but also for the fact she could hear him speak at all. It truly was a miracle that the man had regained his ability to speak and although the situation hadn’t permitted them to spend any time speaking of it’s wonders nor for her to congratulate him properly Stella still felt the joy for her friend. Unfortunately there was no time for anything more then a warm smile to come from it though and as Red quickly took a form new to Stella’s eyes they widened showing more of their amethyst colouring. The figure before her was by far different to the last form Red had taken and with it having an obvious ‘wild’ side she knew before the attack was launched that she didn’t want to get in it’s way.

As Red launched fiery and explosive attacks Stella was quick to take the chance to move herself to a safer position upon the makeshift battleground. Now a safe distance from Red himself that any attacks fired at him wouldn’t hit her by accident and yet close enough that should anything be focused at her she could get aid quickly Stella sheathed her blade. The merger with Sophia was reaching the limit of it’s duration and as she started to feel her bond with the spirit weakening Stella knew that it was time she end the use of her magic while she could do so safely. It was always a scary and risky moment when a take over mage had to leave form and go back to being somewhat vulnerable and it was even more so when you had to do it right in front of your enemy.

As the blast from Red’s attack left the air something rather surprising was left standing in the place where the ice mage had seemingly been hit, he had backup? So he had been outmatched and his friends felt the need to step in and interfere? Well she couldn’t really say much against it seeing as how any friend would do the same in the situation and now it was two versus two, something felt unsettling about the situation though.

Jirachi's healing helped Marcus. Though it did not mend his skull, it eased his fatigue, settled his dizziness and somewhat numbed the pain. Marcus still felt a very sharp headache, like someone was driving a hot rod into his brain, however, he was starting to think more clearly now. He opened his eyes completely, and groaned silently as he reached for Iustitia, which was lying beside him.

Marcus could feel some of his strength returning, but he was far from his full potential. He needed more time. More time to focus and recuperate. More time without fighting was more time for him to ready himself.

As he lay on the ground, he took in his surroundings. Zachary was standing in the exact same position as before. It seemed he hadn't moved, but he was visibly tired. The spell must've taken a lot from him. In some ways, he wasn't faring much better than Marcus himself. He also noticed that Jirachi was tucked into his hood. Looks like he had been attacked. That wasn't good, Jirachi was an invaluable ally; without his empowering and healing magic, they were in for a rough fight.

But what really alarmed Marcus was another soldier standing near him. He wore the same outfit as the sergeant, but he looked... weaker. Marcus couldn't explain it, but as a knight who spent his entire career among the ranks, he had an instinctive feel for ranking and authority. And the way this guy held himself in comparison to the sergeant gave him a clear sign that he was a lower-ranking officer. But having already sampled the strength of Boscan forces, something told him that this wasn't such good news.

In the distance, Marcus could hear screaming and the sounds of weaponry clashing together. The sound of battle. So they had finally invaded. Wonderful.

Marcus began to stand up slowly, using Iustitia as a support. Once on his feet, Marcus took a second to regain his focus as a wave of nausea engulfed him. With his helmet damaged and broken, Marcus removed it, the broken helmet clanked against the ground.

Marcus still wasn't completely combat worthy, he needed to buy his time. He slowly began to back away from the scene. The more time that went by, the better. But with two elite Boscan soldiers confronting them, and fresh wave of footmen headed their way, Marcus probably wouldn't rest too long.

His opponent definitely would have taken at least a good amount of damage had he been by himself. However, this time his partner saved him from harm. Though, frankly it was only fair as this had happened to Red himself not too long ago. Stella had effectively saved his bacon back then with her form change and burst of strength. However, right now since she didn't have access to her own forms she wasn't as useful as she formerly was in this fight. Still, at the same time, Houndoom had to wonder if the ice mage would continue to battle in this fight or was the other soldier completely taking over the Boscan side of this fight? Either way didn't matter to the hell hound all that much. As far as he was concerned, there wasn't much of a difference between one or two opponents. Fire consumes all in its proximity, and it will continue to do so until it burns out in a blaze of glory.

At any rate, a smaller flame was hurled towards Houndoom's pyroclastic boulder. The two had actually collided and caused an explosion, which hurled flames and fragmentation everywhere. Houndoom was mostly undeterred, but he recognized the strength of his own abilities and quickly leapt out of the way to gain some distance. There was no reason to pointlessly take damage here. Though, to be fair, he didn't mind a burn or two. In the wild, he was used to things like that. As the alpha of his pack, Houndoom had to constantly assert his dominance, which would often mean brawls and scraps for the rights of succession. Still, he knew he wouldn't have control over this body for too much longer. Getting injured for no reason would only make this fight more difficult for the others, which he could admit were in his pack in a sense.

"Heh, at least this will entertain me for the time being," Houndoom spoke with a slight sense of confidence.

The two spheres of energy hit Jirachi who was helpless to dodge them, bringing him to a state of near-death. His life wasn't in immediate danger, but he would definitely be unable to act again, let alone use any magic.

The sergeant merely laughed at Zachary's words, how many times had he heard that before? "Spare me the moral talk, kid. Do you think you are the first one to have said this to me? Or did you think I would tell you all of my country's plans then cry in a corner about how evil we are? Regardless of that, I've given you enough time." he said, cracking his knuckles. He lunged towards Zachary, aiming a direct punch at him.

The corporal closely observed Marcus leaving the site, and decided to play his game. He started following him, chuckling under his breath.

"So, how are we going to do this? Will you take this guy and leave the hick to me, or should we do it the other way around?" the second lieutenant asked in a rather friendly tone. The first lieutenant scratched his head and paused for a few seconds. "Well, I don't exactly like fighting women, and that guy does use fire magic..." "He can also use water magic." "Is that so? Then let's just take him out at once, he sounds like a pain in the ass to deal with." The two men nodded at each other and began their attack on Red, completely ignoring Stella for the time being. The two of them leapt forward, each one attacking from one side. The first lieutenant attacked from Red's right, the second from his left. For the time being, they resorted to simple physical attacks, should they effectively reach Red, they would attempt to punch him in whichever vital area was the easiest to hit.

The battle raged on, and the Bosco soldiers were slowly gaining ground. The front was drawing closer to where the four people were fighting, and they would be able to hear it as well. Whether they kept fighting their own opponents or decided to help against the bigger army was their choice.

Heroic Fairy Tail Music!

Zachary had to make sure Jirachi didn't get hit again. First chance he got, he had to hide Jirachi somewhere so the little guy could rest, but now it was no such luck! He just had to make sure he wouldn't risk a hit from this guy. This guy was heartless now. At his question, the man laughed. He just didn't give a care about what he did or his country. This pissed Zachary off.

"Have it your way. It's only fair to tell you, however, you made two big mistakes..." Zachary said as the man charged his way. The man was fast but he wouldn't expect what Zachary had planned. As the guy was about 5 meters away, Zachary reacted. He had more than enough magic energy now to do what he had to do! "Meteor!!" Zachary shouted aloud.

At his cry, magic energy surrounded him in the form of a bright orange aura like a nova. He then jumped, and literally, took off like a rocket! He flew upward, right overhead of the sergeant as he lunged for his punch. Not only did Zachary now had the power of flight, he had a significant increase in his speed to boot. He couldn't use it before because of Jirachi's buff, leaving him with 'weakened soul', his talk with the sergeant a method to buy just enough time. Now with a better reserve of magic power, and the condition removed, he was free to act again with one of his better practiced spells.

"One, was coming to take over our homes!" Zachary voiced from above, grabbing the man's attention. He was now hovering a good distance overhead. Zachary flew there, a serious look on his face. He was now pissed off. As his jacket flapped in the air behind him, the crest of his guild, Fairy Tail, stood out among his jacket in view. "And second, was underestimating a Fairy Tail wizard!!"

Ether way, he must of surprised the sergeant! Catching his attention, Zachary's hand glowed with magic. "Shooting Star!!" Zachary shot a brilliant beam of light from behind where the sergeant was! If nothing else, even if the beam didn't hit it would throw the jerk off his game.

From up above, Zachary could see the view of both the sergeant below, but also the arriving enemies from the other side of the town. He was worried they would easily overrun the place, while distracting the others. He could also see two others in the distance, fighting the other members of the invasion party that had walked away. Was all of this a giant diversion while the soldiers ran the place? He may very well have to break away from the fight just to handle the soldiers.

Getting Jirachi somewhere safe beside the safety of his back and to try and stop the incoming, and hopefully weaker forces of Bosco seemed more important than these heavy hitters. Even if they fought off the thugs, it wouldn't end the invasion.

It seemed that the two men felt Red was the one that they had to try and take out first, while it would have been smarter to pick on the woman that couldn’t use her magic at the given moment they two Boscan men focused their attacks on Red ignoring the woman who they deemed useless. Stella knew that it was likely for the best that she stay out of the fight in her current unarmed state but with that said she couldn’t just let two of the enemies fight Red alone; that was unfair. Against what would have been the sensible decision when it came to avoiding getting hurt Stella did as her personality dictated and stood tall in defence of her friends.

What was she going to use though? She couldn’t exactly go up against them in a fist fight given that they had elemental magic at their disposal that would likely end up getting her and she had no weapons out of her magical forms given the situation she’d been in before it started. Did that mean she had no way of helping? Maybe that would have been the case if the woman had been fighting in a padded cell but luckily for her the surrounding area had plenty to offer her in terms of makeshift weapons and shields. A hurried glance around showed Stella her first piece of ‘equipment’ and quickly the mage frantically rushed to it. The microphone stand that she’d had on stage would serve as a decent enough pole like weapon after she removed it’s base and as she had made her way up onto the stage Stella had noticed something else she could use. In a crate just behind the curtains at the side of the stage sat bottles of water for the staff to take from, they might not have been the strongest of projectiles but they were going to have to do.

As the two men focused their attacks on Red Stella had managed to get herself to the stage, remove the microphone stands base and drag the crate of bottled water down the few steps to the ground where she was to launch her attack. Promptly the mage would begin to hurl bottle after bottle of the water at the two men attacking red, if they struck they would do so with some force given the woman had some strength behind her (only 29 lol) but they wouldn’t go causing much in the way of injury. To distract and annoy with the projectiles was Stella’s game and if they were hitting the enemy then Red would be given an advantage, if they were being dodged or blocked by the men then once again it was good for Red.

Marcus kept walking away from the scene, even as he saw the Corporal follow him. However, his pace was getting a bit more urgent. As more time passed, his strength steadily returned, he would never be at full strength any time soon, but the more time, the better. He looked around and spotted a run down building nearby. He headed for it, breaking down the door and entering.

The place had obviously been condemned, the building showed signs of advanced degradation and ruin. The wood that made up the entire building was chipped and old, large portions of the wall were also missing, like something had carved it out. The paint was faded and peeling away, the ground was coated with a thin layer of dust, and upon closer examination, one could see small white dots along the floor as well. The building itself seemed to be held up by only a few crumbling walls and pillars. It was completely empty and barren, no walls, no furniture, nothing. It was simply an empty space enclosed by walls and a ceiling. A few windows dotted the walls.

Marcus stumbled in, still dazed from his injury. A surge of pain ran through his head, causing him to groan silently and clutch his head. Luckily, the pain subsided and Marcus continued to walk into the building. He didn't have much time. He looked around and memorized the building's interior, taking note of all the important details he needed to know.

He went over to a pillar. This pillar wasn't very thick, and the effects of time were quite evident upon it. Marcus turned and leaned against it, Iustitia and Arcem clasped in his hands, holding them up weakly. He stood there and waited for the Corporal to follow him. Just outside, the sounds of battle were growing louder. The fighting sounded very close, they could be here any moment. Marcus guessed that it would be only short while before they were engulfed in the chaos.

Marcus smiled. Chaos. He liked that.

Stay the course.

Both of these soldiers decided to blitz and rush at Houndoom. This didn't exactly make him happy, as it was more than he would prefer to deal with. However, he had to acknowledge their abilities and strategy. Pack animals employ that pack mentality and teamwork in order to take down larger and stronger prey. While not necessarily arrogant, he still felt as if they were somehow acknowledging the fact that Houndoom himself was a problematic enemy. Though, in all likelihood they were probably referring to Red himself, who employed a squadron of powerful, diverse souls with equally diverse powers within himself.

In any case, Houndoom was glad that Stella had decided to help out. Even if she was only distracting them she still had her uses. Houndoom knew that he was disadvantaged in a fight like this. Being outnumbered in a fight is seldom an advantage, it's usually quite the opposite. Still, it's not like he didn't have a chance here. Houndoom was considerably fast and accurate, and his magical techniques struck with a considerable amount of force to it. But, first things first - Houndoom had to decide which of these soldiers he should focus down first. Right now, these soldiers were focusing him down, so it was rational for Stella and himself to decide something similar. The decision rapidly became clear to him in a moment. This ice mage was fast, but he doubted he was that durable. Otherwise, he probably didn't have much reason to use speed to his advantage.

With all that in mind, Houndoom used Stella's distracting movement to leap out of the way from his opponents as they had closed in on him from the side. Leading his shot to where the ice mage was likely to go, who possibly was going to have a somewhat difficult time in suddenly changing direction due to momentum, Houndoom moved back while firing another Fire Blast right at the location. Though, he kept himself close enough that the enemy fire mage hopefully wouldn't have enough reaction time to counter his attack.

The chaos was going stronger, and Zachary realized he had to take action, and soon. He would only be able to fly for so long and soon his time airborne would give out. He had thrown a distracting blast at the sergeant, but if he didn't act quickly he would be stuck and unable to help the soldiers fighting. He also couldn't just leave, but it seems Marcus was already running away. Part of Zachary felt pained his ally would ditch like that. He reminded himself to yell at him later, but now was not the time!

"Don't worry, I'll come back for you, after I deal with your soldiers you brought with you!" Zachary said in annoyance. Swallowing his pride, he then turned and took off fast through the air!

First priority was to get Jirachi to one of the army medical stations in the city. He could leave him there and see that he got treated for his injuries. Then, with Jirachi safe, he could fly off towards the armies from above!

He streaked across the city skyway, zipping through the streets, also spotting the others fighting elsewhere. Figuring he could help them both out, Zachary flew right by Stella just above where she was fighting with the other guys she was tangled with. The zooming by would at least distract them for Stella to get an opening in!

Flying through to the end of the street, he was relieved to see the medical station before him. He quickly touched down, landing right in front of a startled nurse. Zachary, out of breath, quickly reached behind him, into his hood and pulled out Jirachi. He was in a sleeping state, softly breathing and covered in scratches. "Miss! My friend here got hurt in the fight. He is a healer but he is far too injured. Please, help him!" The nurse looked startled but after a brief moment of confusion, took the star critter into her arms. She agreed to treat him and take care of him till Zachary returned. No sooner had he landed, with his meteor spell still active, he took to the sky once more!

Like a rocket, Zachary now made his way towards the main fighting grounds where the Fiore army and the Bosco army fought. As much as he wanted to return to give that Sergeant a good beating, he had to use his bigger spell for the mass of soldiers nearby here. They needed a hand and if the Bosco forces overran their soldiers, even if they beaten the higher officers, they would still take over the city.

Zachary was now overhead, a becon of light above the Fiore soldiers as he flew closer to the chaos and towards the front of soldiers. As he flew, he began drawing a symbol in the air, preparing one of his far better spells! From his hands, he drew the symbol of Leo, and a magic circle appeared before him with the symbol in the center!

"O grand lion that dwells in the heavens, let the earth tremble before your mighty roar!" He murmured to himself in focus, then shot his gaze out towards the enemy soldiers. Capable of doing serious damage to those below, the spell would at least deal a large blast among the mass of soldiers, taking a good chunk of them out! He then flew in a downward motion towards the soldiers. "Regulus BLAZE!!!"

He threw his hand forward with the magic circle! At his command, the circle erupted in a blaze of fiery light. From it, a large lion made from the light descended down from where Zachary flew, roaring in its own voice. Light shined in its jaws as it would pounce down from the air towards the mass of soldiers, who would be smart to be scared senseless at the sight. Upon its impact to the ground, the lion would release a mighty explosion as Zachary was safe above!

The sergeant's attack missed when Zachary took to the air. "Petty tricks like that won't save you, boy." he laughed as he took on his spell without as much as flinching. He observed the boy as he left the scene to get his pet tended to, he wasn't such a cruel man that he wouldn't even let him do that. In the meantime, he could relax a bit as well. Not that he hadn't done so plenty enough when giving the boy time to rest. When he came back and thought it would be easy for him to just attack the soldiers, the sergeant laughed again. "I am your opponent." he said calmly, jumping in front of the boy right before used his spell. If he chose to detonate it, the explosion would hit him as well. and it was sure to deal much more damage to him than the sergeant.

The corporal kept following Marcus and scoffed at his attempts to trick him. "Does he really think I'm going to follow him inside that building? Laughable." he thought, shaking his head in disappointment. He was expecting a better trick from him. After that, he deemed that Marcus wasn't worth his time and turned back to the battle. He figured he would be more useful in the frontlines than chasing an injured knight.

Stella's distraction didn't hinder the men one bit, they didn't even take the effort to dodge the water bottles. They were simply not worth their time. However, they did slow down a bit, just enough to give Red an opening to jump away and launch his attack. "The same thing again?" the first lieutenant laughed. He launched the same counterattack he did the previous time, making the attacks cancel each other before they even got close to the two of them. The second lieutenant took this chance to close in the gap between him and Red, standing directly in front of him. He raised his hand in front of Red and launched a sphere of ice right at his face. Dodging that would be pretty difficult.

The captain observed the fights for a while, and deemed he had no real reason to interfere. He jumped on a nearby building and looked at the troops fighting. The fight was at a standstill, it was going to take ages for their troops to win like that. "Might as well lend them a hand." he grinned, raising an arm towards them. An eerie purple sphere was launched towards Fiore's troops, exploding on contact and enveloping them in a foul vapour. One after another, they started collapsing to their knees, unable to fight properly. If nobody interfered with the captain, he was going to easily decimate Fiore's troops.
