Event Rules It was a bright sunny day. There was a nice wind blowing through the city of Coreopsis. Yet its people were restless. Unlike any other day when they would be spending their time frolicking or working their jobs, there was a general unease spread among the city's inhabitants. War was approaching, the news had spread throughout the entire country of Fiore. Mages were enlisted alongside the knights, preparations were underway to stop the Bosco army. Coreopsis was no different, the home of Tartaros, the dark guild known to be the wildest and responsible for much destruction was also going to be dragged into this. People from other places and guilds were there as well, each for their own reasons. For once, knights, light mages and dark mages were going to fight on the same side against a common enemy. Or, at least, most of them felt that way. The sky grew darker. Shadows were cast over the floating city, the shadows of fling ships. The Bosco army was there, their choice of transportation being airships for this particular city. Standing on the very front of one of these airships, a group of five men were looking down on the city. "So, we've finally arrived. Such a beautiful city, it's almost a shame that we have to invade it." the group's leader said. All five of them were wearing the Bosco military's uniform, and four out of five were at around average height. The fifth one was shorter, no more than 140cm tall. Four of them had short black hair, except for one of them whose hair was red, trimmed to the root. "Yes, captain. We are awaiting your orders, what should the troops do?" one of the men asked. "Hmmm. Keep the troops on standby. We are going down there to investigate matters ourselves. Tell them to descend as soon as the ships are done moving. We do not need to wait for that, right?" the captain said with a smirk. "Yes, sir!" the man saluted the captain and hurried off to deliver his orders. "Second Lieutenant, Sergeant, you two are coming with me. Corporal, stay here and tell the First Lieutenant to follow us as soon as he is done. You are to accompany him as well." the captain ordered. "Yes, sir!" "Yes, sir!" "Yes, sir!" the three men replied, and the three out of them four jumped down from the ship, safely landing down on the city. Aside from those three, nobody else made their move yet. The rest of the army was going to invade the city shortly, when their airships were stationed. Those three were a reconnaissance unit, they were usually sent for scouting and assassination missions. War was beginning. Edited by Vilis, Mar 3 2013, 09:19 AM.

It was sheer chaos as far as Zachary was concerned! At first, Zachary was only passing through Coreopsis to return to Magnolia after a job he completed. Before long he received word from the guild of the incoming invasion. All hands from all the guilds were to respond. He had to stay in this city. It was a beautiful city for sure but it was about to become a battle field. One which Zachary didn't want to really be thrust into . Not to mention he had a small little creature with him. Jirachi, the star fairy. The little guy didn't like the outbursts of panic and strife. he could sense it and it was making the little guy nervous that Zachary had to console the fellow. It had been three days, and he had gotten used to and accepted the risks that would come with the events unfolding. The airships were visible over the city of water. The canals provided many areas of cover between islands but it was difficult to keep track of exactly where the forces were coming from, some by air and who knew if others were coming via land or water. Since the city was afloat above the lake, it wouldn't be a shock to find some of the army using boats to get to the city. Zachary was patiently waiting as he saw the ships come. Then suddenly, he saw the head ship launch something. Was it launching? No... something had jumped off. Five objects that looked like people descending upon the city fast. They landed in different areas, and Zachary spotted some of them. Shooting stars? Jirachi asked via telepathy. "No Jirachi... " Zachary said as he saw them fly down from the sky. He didn't know which one was closer but he couldn't ignore it. The smart thing to do was to report it but there was no time with everyone running around in a panic. "This could be bad. Jirachi, let's go check it out! I don't think those were friendly gifts from those ships!" Zachary said as he pushed past people running from the ships. Little did he know he was running towards one of the three men assigned to take out things covertly. No matter who he would run into, it would be trouble. Summary

"Marcus!" Laura exclaimed, she opened the door quickly, and threw her arms around him. "What's happening, everyone's panicking, they're saying that Fiore is under attack!" Marcus didn't respond immediately, but his eyes didn't meet Laura's. "They're right..." He finally said. Laura threw her hands up to her mouth, a look of total shock on her face. "B-but... how?" Marcus stumbled over and collapsed on the couch. He leaned forward, clasping his hands in front of him, evidently in deep thought. "Another nation... Bosco... declared war." He murmured. "I'm being deployed to Coreopsis." "When do you leave?" "Right now." Laura didn't answer, an uneasy silence fell upon them. Even Mika, who was sitting near the window remained uncharacteristically quiet. Finally, Marcus got up from his seat and went to his armory room. The sounds of metal clanking began to resound in the house. Laura followed him to the storage room, where Marcus was busy putting on the Talos Suit, he remained completely and utterly quiet as he did so. The matter was simple. Marcus was marching off to war, where chaos, destruction and ruin were found. There was every possibility that he wasn't going to return home after this. This wasn't guard duty in some corner of the country, nor was it some assignment he had to undergo. It was war. Laura didn't try to stop him, nor did she ask him why he had to go. She knew as well as him of the risks, and of his duty. No matter how much she wished it wasn't so. Marcus was a Knight of Fiore, it was his sworn duty to protect Fiore and its inhabitants, and should he be forced to, he would give his life to do so. There was no need for an explanation between them about the matter. Laura knew, more than anyone, just how much he loved his country. She also knew the extent to which Marcus would go to protect it. Marcus finished putting on his armor. He strapped Arcem to his back and grabbed Iustitia. He stopped in front of Laura, and they looked into each others eyes intently. A silent agreement passed between them, he would stay safe, and so would she. Laura put her hands on Marcus' cheeks and kissed him lightly on the lips. It was softest of kisses, one of farewell. "You come back to me, okay?" It was more of an order than a question. Marcus nodded, his hard expression softened just a bit. "Okay." He passed her and walked towards the door. Mika, upon seeing her master leaving, jumped off her perch from the windowsill and rushed to stand next to him, ready to leave alongside him. Marcus couldn't help but smile slightly. "No, Mika. I have to go alone on this one." He picked Mika up and put her into Laura's arms. " I need you to take care of Laurie for me." She sensed that something was amiss, but nevertheless, she barked in affirmative. Her features fell a bit at the idea of Marcus leaving alone. She whimpered to him, like a child protesting against unfairness. Marcus petted her on the head. Without another word, Marcus opened the door and left. He had a duty to fulfill. .................................................................. Marcus paced on the walls of the city, eyeing the ships in the air. It had been two days since he and the other knights were sent to the city to protect it. He had spent most of his time assisting in the city's fortifications. However, the moment the airships were spotted, they were ordered to drop everything to prepare for battle. Marcus was fully garbed and ready. He grasped Arcem and Iustitia tightly as he watched the airships intently. He wished they would hurry up and attack already, the suspense was killing him. Plus, the fact that they were waiting to attack meant that they were hatching some plan and Marcus didn't like it. Finally, he realized that he wasn't going to accomplish anything by just standing there and pacing, so he decided to get down to the city and check the defenses. Marcus got down from the wall and began to walk through the city uneasily. Something didn't feel right, he felt that something was amiss, but he couldn't place his finger on it. Marcus hefted his shield and weapon as he walked through the city, prepared for anything. Summary

A grimace was set like concrete across Ashton Carmine's face when the news of war was picked up by his ears. Pacifistic by nature, he never particularly understood why wars were fought. People and their conflicts can be resolved in manners other than violence. Why were countries and kingdoms any different? It upset him, visibly so. His usual bright and friendly demeanor was somewhat faded, his lips were curled into an uncharacteristic frown. These weren't happy times, not when your home is in danger. Ashton regretted venturing out to Coreopsis, but it wasn't like he could have foreseen an event like this, a war. His magic revolved around transformation, not clairvoyance, forecasting, or prophecy. It was purely in hindsight, but had he stayed in Belladonna he would have been at least able to defend his beloved Lamia Scale. Of course, more so than that, he was significantly more concerned about his quiet little hometown out in the Fiorean countryside. Hydragnea Village was ground zero of the Boscan invasion, and with his hometown situated between the nearby Makahiya Village and Oak Town he had a lot of cause for concern. The fields he used to run through, the people he grew up with, his family and friends, he had no idea where they were or if they were okay. It was one thing if his hometown was burnt to a crisp, becoming nothing but ash in the wake of the Boscan war machine. But, the people he made countless memories with was another thing entirely. Concern and worry swelled in his heart, and for once Ashton was ready and willing to go into the fray. For now, there wasn't much he could do. The encroaching dark clouds above seemed significantly ominous, making him feel quite apprehensive. Right now, Ashton felt incredibly hopeless, he couldn't help but be concerned and worry about his family and friends. Waiting was all he could do, so it totally sucked that doing so felt excruciatingly painful. The multitude of spirits within the young take-over mage were all somewhat apprehensive, or at least some of them were. Heracross was not at all, but was instead ready and entirely willing to dole out some insectoid justice to the villainous invaders. Empoleon thought of the Boscans and ruffians and scoundrels, while Houndoom was concerned solely for the safety of the packs of his kind throughout Fiore. Flygon was in the same vein as Heracross, whereas Accelgor and Haxorus wanted only to fight. Summary

OOC Fear; it was the emotion that Stella had been fighting against every morning she tried to face the world. It wasn’t fear of the war that was coming that she found the most unbearable of it all however, if she had to fight and she had to die then so be it but Okita…. Her brothers….It was not knowing how they were and if they were going to come back to her that hurt the most. Oh how she wanted to be there by their sides, if only to fight in a futile effort. She’d pleaded with Okita to allow her to fight by his side but to no avail, the knight was firm in his decision and although Stella understood his mindset she also couldn’t just accept it. Why couldn’t she fight by his side? She was just as strong as he was if not even stronger with the use of her magic. Was it because he didn’t plan on living? Did he not want her to see his fall? No, surely not. It was just out of a sense of duty right? He didn’t want her on the frontline, he wanted her to stay back where it was safer. But then nowhere was safe, everyone was scripted to fight in the war and Fiore’s defence. It would have been safer to fight by each others sides, where they could have protected each other. Damn it Okita….why did you have to be such a jerk sometimes and why did she love him so. With a sigh Stella wiped the lone tear that slipped from her eye, she had to stop thinking about things so negatively. Okita was alright, he was off fighting without her but he would return to her. He was probably just as worried about her as she was of him, she’d want him to be strong and to focus on the fight at hand with confidence in her so that was exactly what she had to do for him. With her new mindset Stella waited on the small makeshift stage behind the curtains that had been drawn, she could hear the crowd that had gathered and strangely enough it was almost soothing. The takeover mage had been approached by the mayor of Coreopsis a couple of days prior and asked to sing a song that would honour the soldiers going to war and yet at the same time also do right by those that had already fallen in Hydrangea. It was a tough request and while she was by far no superstar songstress Stella knew that she could at least get a performance worthy of an audience out with the aid of Ren, the spirit had helped her do it before in the past after all. As it was the mayor had heard that very song and so after learning the mage was in the town when he scripted everyone for it’s defence should an invasion occur he had thought to ask her for the favour. That was how she had come to stand in the town square with many gathering to hear the performance, the one that would take place in the minutes to come. The music would begin to set the mood and to silence the crowd and then the curtains would open to reveal Stella donned in what she had no idea would prove to be the attire for a battle (when not in Takeover form of course). Song (yes I’m sure you all know it but it fits so shhh) Preoccupied by the performance the many that were gathered wouldn’t notice the three tiny dots in the sky that fell towards the city but perhaps even if they hadn’t been at the performance it would have gone unnoticed given the fact not many spent their time gazing at the sky. Stella hadn’t written any lyrics before she stepped onto the stage, as always Ren had taken care of voicing the thoughts and emotions within the mage’s soul and allowed them to flow out as if it had all been rehearsed. As the performance ended Stella spoke out over the microphone and gave a warm and reassuring smile to the many that had tears in their eyes, “I too have a loved one fighting out there and it’s to him I dedicate my performance. May all our cherished ones come back to us safely!”. While part of her knew that Okita couldn’t have heard her song Stella wasn’t one to discount the power of magic and the strange things it could do, maybe just maybe it would get through to him and maybe just maybe it would help him in the fight to come. After stepping down from the stage Stella watched as the crowd started to disperse and out of be it luck or fate her amethyst eyes spotted a familiar figure, was that Red?! “Red! Is that you?!”, a friendly tone and wave accompanied Stella’s shout and after she waited to see if the name would grab his attention the mage would head in his direction. How long had it been since she’d seen him? It felt like forever since they had done that life guard job together, she couldn’t help but wonder how he had been. |

Zachary now held Jirachi tucked in the hood of his jacket, almost like a pouch for the little guy to stay in as he ran through the streets. He was trying to find the objects... or people that fell from the airships slowly coming overhead. As he ran, he heard a melodic voice as he ran. Someone was singing. Likely something for the people to lift their spirits as the destruction of war was soon upon them. In truth, it made Zachary a little sad to hear it. He never liked war, and thought they lived in a nation of peace. That however... was no longer the case. Now he had to use his power to fight against those who would hurt him and the land he loved. It didn't make it any more easier to be a minion of war. The music was sad, but it did invigorate him a bit, giving him a bit more step to his run. He ran by other people. One of em a guy close to his age wearing red clothing and red eyes. Zachary ran by him quickly, possibly getting his attention but in a rush himself. He also ran by someone else. A knight, he was sure he might of recognized! A spiky haired guy. Markus!? Zachary almost ran right into him, surprised to see him again. He had been a partner in a job request with him a while ago! "M-Markus? Is that you?" Zachary said, surprised. It was in fact him. The same knight that helped him in Hosenka. Spotting Markus, Jirachi peeked out from behind Zachary's shoulder. A beaming smile crossed his face as he fluttered upward, happy to see him. Markus! Jirachi cheered, happy to see him. Still the situation of the objects weighted heavy on his mind. He still had to run after it to see what was going on. He hoped Markus would provide some back up. Summary

OOC Three men abruptly landed on the city of Coreopsis. Normally, one wouldn't expect anyone to be able to survive a fall from that height, but they were just that kind of people. The captain looked around him, the streets were deserted. No knights or mages in sight, it was like they had just stepped into a ghost town, They started walking around, surveying the area for anything unexpected. "Oh?" the captain exclaimed upon noticing a few people. One of them was a man with brown hair and a cloak, the other had black spiky hair. The latter looked more masculine, while the former... well, he could only be called a pushover at a glance. Upon giving them a short inspection, the captain let out a disappointing sigh. "These guys look like complete scrubs, I'd feel bad taking them on myself. Second Lieutenant, Sergeant, I will leave these two to you. No, on second thought, you come with me, Second Lieutenant. You shouldn't waste your time on people like these." the captain commanded, motioning for him to follow. The Sergeant remained behind, staring down the two men -or, rather, teenagers. "Well, the captain's orders are absolute. So, which one of you wants to go first? Let's start... with you, the one with the brown hair and cloak. Unless both of you want to come at me at once, I won't mind." the Sergeant said. The captain continued his trek when the sound of music reached his ears. Music? In such a place? Interesting, this was something he had to check. And there she was, a rather beautiful woman heading towards... a man with red eyes? Hah, so there were people like that in Fiore? "Unfortunately, we have been ordered to keep no prisoners. Second Lieutenant, these two are all yours. I will merely observe the fight." the captain ordered. His lieutenant nodded, slowly approaching the two of them. Meanwhile, back in the airship, the First Lieutenant was finished with relaying the captain's orders and returned to their gathering spot. "Where is the captain?" he asked the corporal. "He and the other two went ahead, he asked me to stay behind and inform you. We are to follow after them right now." the corporal said. The lieutenant nodded, and the two of them jumped off the ship in the same manner as the ones prior to them had. |

OOC "It's good to see you. Wish it was during better times--" At that time, Zachary witnessed a few strange figures come out of nowhere. He knew those things to fall to the city floor were around them, but they wasted no time in introducing themselves. There were three of them, all looking menacing. After the insults of scrubs, military rank names. As two of them went off in another direction, they were left with one, referred to as the Sergeant. It took Zachary a moment but then he realized who was standing before him! "You... You're from Bosco, aren't you!" Zachary declared, pointing a finger at the man before them. He was aware of the two that moved onward, but he had to deal with this guy first. He wasn't one to take annoyance of being pass off by others. First he would take care of what was in front of him, before he got zealous and went after the other two. "I warn you. War is something no one wants, myself included. But if you insist of bringing harm to this town, I will respond in kind!" With those words Zachary prepared to fight. Jirachi looked at the scary Sergeant with worry on his little face, keeping behind Zachary to prepare for support but also to keep its distance from the man. Ready to fight, Zachary brought his hands together! Bright light surrounded him as a magic circle appeared below him. The hand signs he were making were very similar to the legendary spell Fairy Law; the complexity just as formidable. I got no choice. I have far from mastered this spell, but its the strongest tool I have to stop this guy and give Marcus support. he thought, his eyes focused on the man before him. With a spark of light squarely between his palms, he smashed the light together. "The fifth spell!, Zachary shouted, "Macro Cosmos!!" He then separated his hands, and caused a dazzling barrage of lights to spread outward around him. The sparks of light, about 20 in total, soon were spread out around between Zachary and the Sergeant. As the lights faded, in their place were a series of physical star objects that levitated around the street. Zachary stood upon the magic circle, his arms forward in focus. He could already feel the strain on his mind to just control the stars as they softly moved around the area. It was so strong he couldn't move. Still, it was his strongest spell yet. "Get lost!!" Zachary shouted, pointing at the sergeant! "FIRE!!" At his command, the stars around the Sergeant responded. Two in front of the man in the air fired two laser bolts at him, while from behind him, two more laser bolts were shot. All four about to strike the man from both sides. Summary

The performance was spectacular but honestly he couldn't pay a significant amount of attention to it. His beloved family and cherished friends, that totally rad and awesome jungle gym that he used to play on, all the amazingly adorable animals and critters in his hometown, they possibly all up in flames for all he knew. Ashton couldn't rest easy knowing that was a possibility. Taking a deep breath, the young mage waited for the encroaching storm. Though, he did manage to let out a sigh of slight relief when he saw a familiar face. He didn't really know anyone stuck here in Coreopsis, so seeing someone he had met and worked with from the past made him feel at least a little bit better, well for now anyway. In any case, it truly had been a long time since he had seen Stella. Back then, they were both working with another mage from Fairy Tail where they had to act as life guards at Akane Resort. It was busy times back then, as a famous celebrity (though he had long since forgotten both her name and what she was famous for) was on the beach and crowds of fans had arrived conveniently at the same time. In retrospect, the young take-over mage would gladly prefer to deal with all that nonsense compared to this significantly more serious and dangerous war. Getting stampeded by rapid fans is far more preferable than being run over a tank, since the latter is on the way to claim the livelihoods and homes of his companions. "It really has been quite some time," he said to her, which likely would have surprised her given that he had since then regained his ability to speak. It was a difficult disability to get over after the procedure (lacrima solves everything!), but extensive rehab and practice made it possible. "Unfortunately, we'll have to talk later. I think there are more pressing matters, sadly." A man had suddenly appeared accompanied by another. The mage had no idea who they were, but they sported Boscan military uniforms and that was already enough cause for immediate concern. The man who seemed to have more authority than the other ordered the other, his subordinate to fight Stella and Ashton himself. No prisoners...? He thought to himself, his heart beating faster and faster at a staccato pace. Not knowing what these guys were capable of, the mage had to choose his next actions carefully. It was obvious though that he would transform. Red himself wasn't all too capable in a fight, sure he could throw some decent hits and take at least a decent beating but his forms were much stronger than he actually was. Of course, he didn't want to go all-in just yet, so a melee form was out of the question. So, he decided on that note to go with the flow. "You need to learn some manners," the mage spoke, his voice radically different than before. Shortly after, he was covered in a sea of illuminating light from head to toe. After just a brief instant, the one known as Ashton Carmine ceased to be. His body became a vessel for the soul of the Penguin Emperor, the spirit within adapting his physical form. His cloak stood out behind him over his shoulders, sweeping down low. Adjusting his tie and then his gloves, he pointed his golden trident head at his enemy. "I suppose I shall be the one to educate you on how a gentleman behaves." "En guard!" He called out a moment later, targeting the area where this Second Liutenant had been standing. A pulse of water would quickly form at the area as well as a two meter radius around it. The water would rapidly form itself into the shape of a sphere, where had the enemy been caught they would be trapped in the enclosure of water. Summary

Marcus was walking through the streets, the feeling of something going wrong still tugged at him. The streets were nearly empty, the idea of him being completely alone in this place unnerved him. He tightened his grip on his weaponry, the familiar weight of them calmed him. Just as he was going to round a corner, a familiar voice called out to him. Marcus spun to the source of the sound, just in time to see Zachary nearly crash into him. Marcus was surprised to say the least. He had heard that the mages had been mobilized to deal with the invasion, but out of all the odds that he'd happen across Zachary here. He'd done a mission with the Fairy Tail mage a while back, and despite the fact that Marcus had gotten drunk on the job (long story), he still had fond memories of the excursion. Marcus was glad to see him and Jirachi, he knew them to be skilled mages, they would be an asset to the city's defenses. "Hello Zachary, hello Jirachi." Marcus said to them. "Fancy seeing you two here, you guys helping with the defenses?" The conversation was cut short when some people just appeared out of nowhere, literally dropping out of the sky. Marcus watched them quietly as they spoke, too surprised to immediately react. They exchanged quick words before divvying up opponents. Marcus grit his teeth at the insults they were throwing at them, he didn't know what a scrub meant, but it didn't sound good. And to add insult to injury, they didn't even have the respect to give them a two-on-two! Now Marcus was angry. Not only where they invading his homeland, they were insulting them. That wasn't going to fly. The sergeant invited them to a two on one, which was fine with Marcus. he would've preferred a one-on-one, so Marcus could beat his face in himself. But something told him that Zachary want in on the action. He didn't mind; he could share. If anything, he was glad that he was fighting alongside a friend he could trust. "Allow me to to give you a lesson in humility," Marcus growled. He raised Iustitia and Arcem, and settled into a battle stance. "Let's start by cutting you down to size. But Zachary was faster, he used his magic to summon a multitude of lights, no, stars, that levitated and circled in the air. The magic spell seemed difficult to maintain, because he could see Zachary visibly strain as he kept the spell in check. Marcus would have to protect Zachary, he would have to pressure the opponent at close range while Zachary provided ranged attack. As Zachary readied the attack, Marcus stayed in front of him, acting as large metal shield. He could see where the attack was going, Zachary was attacking the sergeant from in front and behind. Marcus didn't want to get the path of the attack, so he stood by. Should the sergeant dodge the beams by leaping to the side, moving foward or backward, Marcus would charge him, bashing him with his shield and following up with a horizontal slash. He would do the same if the sergeant was hit by the beams. If the sergeant dodged the beams by leaping upwards, Marcus would aim his gunstaff and launch three round of bullets at him in the air. Regardless of what happened, Marcus would focus on pressuring the sergeant, keeping him as far away from Zachary and Jirachi as possible.
