Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Blitz and company strolled up to the entrance of Oshibana Town with mild surprise. This area of Fiora was pretty unsupervised - not as bad as, say, Dandelion Sector, but still a little closer to lawless than most of the common folk preferred it to be. It was said that running into trouble here was standard, but today's trouble seemed over the top, as a dome of sorts had been cast over the entire town that constantly shifted in color and transparency. No one had run out the the town screaming as they walked up, which was an okay sign, but it could also mean they didn't exactly have the option to leave.

As they got close to the barrier, the screen on Blitz's Omega symbol popped up and beeped. "According the override code, this is the work of the second Vanguard, which means the second one is probably inside someplace." "The Second Vanguard - Innis, the Mirage of Deceit," said Deda softly, gazing over the dome. "She's messing with the minds of the townspeople. It might happen to the three of you as well once you're inside. She's supposedly adept at blurring the border between illusion and reality."

Blitz nodded. "Well, we aren't going to find her standing around outside." Blitz raised a hand and touched the barrier, but met no resistance, the dome apparently light and nothing more. Taking a deep breath, he stepped into the dome and looked around - finding himself on a floating rock in some kind of unending space with a single, dead tree clinging to the edge. Glancing behind him, there was no sign of Deda, Zachary, or Taito, nor was there any sign of the dome or the village itself. "Great." he muttered.

(OOC: Fun time - create your own illusion to be thrust into!)

Zachary and his friends arrived in the town of Oshibana, or rather outside. it was not the most friendly of towns in Fiore but as he soon realized, the whole town was now one big disaster of supernatural proportions. The entire town was enveloped in a dome of rainbow lights. Jirachi fluttered above Zachary's head, overlooking the dome. Ooooh! Pretty! Jirachi chirped telepathically, not so much afraid but enjoying the pretty lights. Zachary face palmed himself at Jirachi's nativity. As Deda explained the whole town had become one massive illusion zone.

"Are you saying this vanguard has turned the whole town into one massive delusion? If that is the case, who knows what is inside there," Zachary interjected realizing how this creature not only was using the town to hide but was manipulating the magic around the area to create illusions. It would be extremely dangerous to jump in there. Still, however, they had no choice. Instructing Jirachi to stay close, the little star critter snugged himself close into Zachary's hood along his back. Though Jirachi was still infatuated with Deda, Zachary needed Jirachi's presence close to him to keep him safe. The little guy would easily get lost in the massive illusion field. Also he realized Zachary could use the little guy's telepathy if his allies were close enough. The illusion may be strong but he bet the illusion wouldn't work against telepathic communications. But before Zachary could voice his idea, Blitz had already entered.

With a big breath, Zachary placed his hand upon the barrier. There was no resistance as he took a defining step and entered the dome.

It was rather bright that Zachary had to hold his hands out as he walked, to keep from hitting anything. The light soon parted as he felt his feet hit something and he tumbled over. Something cold and wet met his body as he pushed himself off the ground. Zachary looked as his hands sunk into the white ground. "Snow?" Zachary spoke quizzically as he looked around. He was in the mountains, ever green trees sticking up along the lands. He got up from the snow and made note for bigger steps.

As he looked outward, he saw the small town just in sight. He gasped, as he felt Jirachi look over his shoulder to see. The little guy didn't know what surprised him, but Zachary knew this place very well. Too well. It was his own home town of Sleepy Hollow.

Tai walked with the rest of the would be team towards Onibas in search of the next vanguard that they would have to face next. Upon approaching the town Tai noticed that the entire town was covered by a gigantic dome that with out a doubt seemed unnatural to say the least. Tai heard little Jirachi announce how pretty he thought the lights were and they were very nice to look at but it's presence certainly gave an ominous aura. According to Blitz and his override the second vanguard is somewhere with in the radius of the dome and as soon as Blitz had said that Kite's attention was drawn to Deda as she began to brief everyone about the next vanguard. According to her the next vanguard was named Innis and it had the ability to cause illusions and warp reality which Tai could only guess was used to confuse or ever subdue others. Deda gave them fair warning that the it's abilities could affect the three of them once they were to step with in the area that the dome covered. He watched as the vision of Deda blurred as she walked through the bubble and seemed to be unharmed which could indicate that it was safe to walk into the bubble. Tai stood back and watched as the other two put their hands up and entered the dome and seemed to enter the bubble with out any resistance and so he figured it was safe for him to also do so. Tai took a deep breath and took a step forward towards the town and surprisingly to him he phased through the bubble with out any kind of complications.

Tai looked behind him to look at the bubble again but as soon as he did he saw nothing behind him, no sign of the bubble no nothing at all. He then whipped back around to face the direction where the town was and saw a barren wasteland which soon erupted into a field of fire. Tai wasn't sure exactly what it was that he was looking at but the area was now a blazing inferno with fire, heat and explosions happening around him and with in the distance towards where to town was once standing now had the sun temple standing in it's place. Tai put his hands in front of his face to block the explosions that were erupting before him. Tai tried to see if he could see his friends but he wasn't able to see anyone at all. " It almost looks like I'm on the sun's surface" he said as he started to walk forward towards the sun temple. Upon seeing the temple he wasn't sure what to think about it and soon enough memories flooded his head as he closed the distance between him and where the town once stood he was determined to find his friends or the vanguard which ever came first.

Blitz glanced down over the side of the floating platform, trying to see if there was some end to the abyss below. "Illusion or no, I doubt the sensation of falling into that won't feel very nice. Better watch my step." Blitz jumped from one rock to the next, watching his footing as he trod along the broken path. At one point, the rock he stepped onto next crumbled away, Blitz managing to grab hold of the rock after it before he fell, watching the bits of rubble spiral away into the yawning abyss below. "Okay, not all the rocks are stable. Noted."

Blitz hauled himself over the edges of the rock and back onto his feet, dusting off his knees and jacket which had picked up a healthy coat of rock dust in the scramble to regain his footing. Okay, thought Blitz, was that an actual gap? The thought that this was part of the illusion made it possible that he was actually hopping around the town. For all he knew, he was hopping across rooftops. That made what wasn't shown even more dangerous that what was. Blitz sighed and sat down, cross-legged, on the rock and began fiddling with the Omega's screen. Maybe there was another solution to this little issue.

The walk through the snow was certainly realistic. All the senses of things were in fact there. Touch, smell... everything wasn't just some sort of mirage. It was a realistic illusion to be sure. "This is my home town... how odd," Zachary commented to Jirachi as the little guy watched silently as he was looking from behind his shoulder, snugged in his hood. The chill in the air certainly felt real, causing the little guy to use his ribbons to wrap them around his body like a blanket.

After a bit of a walk, they reached the town itself. Sleepy Hollow was a small town, ranging about a single mile long or more, with surrounding homes. Perhaps it wasn't that small but it was small to Zachary. Upon reaching the streets, the feel of stone met his feet. He tried to keep in mind it was an illusion but it was hard believe it as everything seemed so realistic. Correct to his own memory. Concern, Jirachi came out from Zachary's hood and levitated up to him face to face. Zachary okay? Jirachi asked telepathically in his cute voice.

"Uh... I guess," Zachary said with a bit of unease. Reaching over to a wall covered in ice, he touched it. The sensation of both the stone and ice was correct to him. He actually did feel it. "This is so strange. Everything here seems so realistic. But... why my own hometown? How could this creature manifest a whole town like this?"

Where are we? Jirachi asked promptly, realizing the change in scenery a bit slower due to his young age.

Zachary looked around, hearing the people that passed by talking. A chill crept up his spine at the fact they were there. It was so easy to forget this was all a big illusion. "Jirachi, this is my home town Sleepy Hollow. This is where I was born and grew up," Zachary explained as he looked around, the two of them slowly going through the street.

Grew up here? Jirachi repeated cutely, understanding this was the place Zachary was from before joining Fairy Tail.

The cold air was there but it wasn't too bad. Everything around them felt no different than from a regular town but something was off to Zachary. It seemed to.. uneventful. Well Sleepy Hollow was always uneventful for him. He spent 15 years of his life in this small silent little time, cut off from the rest of the world. He was all too thrilled to finally get out of school and leave to join a wizard guild. The fact he was there , right then and now, was both nostalgic but also unwanted as he didn't always have the most fondest of memories in this town.

"Could the vanguard just made this illusion by chance... or could it be?" Zachary thought as he thought aloud, talking to Jirachi. "If the whole town had become a big illusion, then perhaps the illusion is unique to each person that comes into contact with it. But how would it know to recreate Sleepy Hollow? For what reason?"

Jirachi listened in relative silence as he looked around. Then all of a sudden, Jirachi saw a mother with a small child. Jirachi attempted to wave at the little boy holding on to his mother but didn't seem to notice him. Jirachi then tried to hug but to both Zachary's and Jirachi's surprise, the little star critter passed right through them, like a ghost. Confused, Jirachi turned around and watched as the mother and child walked away.

"Jirachi, its an illusion," Zachary tried to explain clearly, "This place and its people are not real." Jirachi made a sad face, his tassels on his head drooping a bit in disappointment.

Holding Jirachi to comfort him, Zachary turned a familiar corner that became a street that led to Zachary's old school. However as he was about to turn it, he saw someone he recognized... and nearly dropped Jirachi in shock to see who it was...

Tai wasn't sure what it was he was looking at, it was as if the very world he was apart of became the surface of the sun itself. He looked around unsure what he should do, he looked around hoping to see his new friends but all he saw was the inferno infested land around him. After a few more steps he realized that this must be one of the illusions that the vanguard is able to produce, and even more he wondered if the others were seeing what he was seeing or they were in fact seeing something else altogether either way he knew that he had to overcome this illusion one way or another. Even though this place could be defined as a disaster area Tai found some peace here, it was as if magic and this scene were connected and the temple being there certainly didn't help one bit. Tai stopped walking and with a pillar of light and fire erupting in front of him he was temporarily blinded but then all of a sudden he was in a normal village again, it seemed like the eruption had interupted the dream, or so Tai had thought.

Tai looked around and had hoped to see if he could ask some of the town's people if they had seen his friends around, and in a matter of seconds he found an older man who was sitting on a bench, Tai came up to the man " excuse me sir have you..." before Tai could finish his sentence the old man turned around to answer him but from underneath his bench a rather large explosion occured which engulfed the man in fire which caused seemed to have caused him great agony. Tai went to go see if he could find some water or something but as soon as he turned around he saw a giant pillar of light surround the town and in an instant the town was blown away by a massive eruption of what looked like fire, but after looking closer he noticed that it had a similar feel as the magic that Tai employs which is sun magic. Tai looked in horror as he tried to make sense of it, of what he had just seen. " Was that....my magic?" Tai asked himself as he looked on to watch as where the town once stood was nothing but burning ruins of it's former self and standing in the distance once again was the temple where he had gotten his power from. Tai wasn't sure what this could possibly mean but he knew that it wasn't a good sign at all.

Blitz flipped through the programming of the code, looking for the intel he needed. If he had one Vanguard's data already, and a code to override the barriers the other Vanguards possessed, it made sense that should be able to use the two in concert in a way to break the illusion over the town. After some tinkering, the illusion around him flickered, revealing bits and pieces of the town, before vanishing altogether. Blitz smiled, but his smile faded as he glanced up. The dome of light was still perched over the town, meaning the illusion wasn't broken. Maybe it's just broken for me? Blitz thought. He didn't see anyone else in the street, including Taito or Zachary. Blitz wandered up to the nearest house and tapped on the door with one knuckle. "Anybody home?" Blitz waited for a reply, then tried the knob. Unlocked. He stepped inside and walked past a bookshelf to see someone curled up in bed, asleep. Blitz walked over and shook them gently, but to no avail. Peeling back one eyelid, he noticed a slight green haze around the pupil of the eye. So that's it, he thought. The Vanguard must have shown up during the night and cast the illusion while everyone was sleeping. For the best I guess. Maybe they'll think this was all just a dream when they wake up.

Blitz left the house, closing the door behind him. Well, that answers the question of where the townspeople are, he thought, but where are my friends? And where's Deda?

To Zachary's shock and disbelief he looked to find the person who walked across his path was none other than himself!!

Jirachi looked to Zachary, confused as to why he reacted the way he did. Jirachi had no clue the boy before him was in fact his past self. The boy before them was about 5 feet tall, and about the age of 7 or 8 years old. He wore a blue and white jacket, his hands in his pockets and his head slumped forward sad. It was the reason why Zachary didn't like this town. Attending school in his home town, he was usually teased and picked on for one reason or another. It was never ending and malicious. To see his past self in that state made Zachary hurt a bit in his chest.

Zachary looked in silence as he watched his younger self walk past him down the street, unaware of his present life self before him. Jirachi soon disrupted his gloomy look of shock by fluttering right in front of his face. Zachary shook his head, surprised by his friend's intervention. Zachary looks sad? What's wrong? Jirachi said in telepathy. tilting his head in confusion.

"Jirachi... that little boy," Zachary said , pointing to himself walking away, "That was me. That was me when I was younger living here."

Looking to the boy, Jirachi saw him. He would turn his head from the younger version , to the present version, then once, then twice to the point of confusion to the little guy. Curious, Jirachi then flew out for the younger Zachary. When Jirachi fluttered in front of him he gave a cute little 'hi' greeting. However like before, the image of Zachary just passed right through Jirachi like a projection. Confused, Jirachi turned around to realize it was the same as before.

"I told you, Jirachi. None of this is ... real," Zachary said, realization dawning upon him.

He wasn't trapped in a simple illusion of his home town. It wasn't just an illusion! It was a memory! HIS memory!! Somehow the Vanguard not only created a realistic illusion, but created one from Zachary's own memory.

Watching himself, present Zachary couldn't help but follow where younger Zachary was going. As the younger boy kept going, he heard something that stopped him. Curious Zachary followed his gaze. The boy was looking at a fight between a drunk and an oddly dressed man. Zachary once again gasped.

Mysterious oddly dressed man

The man was dressed in odd robes of green, tan, and red. He had long violet hair and a cut beard but that was long, tied into a braid. While ones would say he was old, his face held the strength of youth behind it despite being older. He looked to be possibly late 40s or 50s. While the drunk fought loudly against the man, the robed person remained calm.

Zachary knew this man however. It was the man who inspired him and sparked his journey to become a wizard. Master Sien. The younger version of himself watched intensely.

Just as the drunk was about to hit the man, Sien, waved a hand in the direction to his right. The drunk's body was immediately thrown to the right, as if he had slammed himself into the building wall. After a few more small gestures, the man was bouncing about like a ball on the street till he passed out, no longer a threat. With that, young Zachary looked on in amazement. The first time he had ever seen a real live wizard in action.

With present Zachary and Jirachi curious, they followed the two after to see what would happen next. As they did, Zachary began to mull all the information in his head. An illusion from his memories. Perhaps the key to escape the illusion was by using HIS OWN memory to find the way out.

Tai kept looking around the area to see if he could find any sort of evidence that there was someone in town that wasn't incinerated by the blast of sun magic that was very similar to what his magic looks like. " Helloooooo" Tai yelled out into the area but saw nothing and hear nothing, nothing but the crackle of the flames that surrounded the area where he was located at. After standing still for a while and with no sign of anything Tai decided perhaps the only thing he could possibly do was head to the temple that had popped up in the center of town. Tai knew that this was an illusion and that none of this was really happening, and he knew that he was somewhere with in town but since this illusion was everything was warped and twisted and he hoped that he wasn't barging into someone's house by accident but for all he knew that was exactly what was goin on but there wasn't much he could do, he hated waiting around and his gut told him that the best way he could locate his friends. " Damn it fine to the temple we go" Tai said as he started to make way towards the temple that was similar to the one that he was in when he was endowed with his magical abilities.

After a short amount of travel time mainly due to him literally running to where the temple was he noticed that where he was was completely fine, no sign of any fire or destruction which made Tai look back to face the town only to see that it was still shattered and destroyed like when he left it. This made Tai feel a little confused on what was happening here it was as if the temple was what destroyed the town while the temple was completely unscathed by what ever force it was the wrecked the town. This automatically made Tai feel as if his decision wasn't exactly the best one he could have made but he figured that he would go along with it any way. Unsure what exactly awaited him behind the entrance of the temple Tai pressed on dawning a serious face ready to face what ever it was that caused the destruction here.

Blitz wandered through the town, looking for signs of anyone else - well, anyone awake who could tell him what the hell happened in here before the dome came down - but no luck. The place was as silent as the grave. Blitz sighed as he walked. The Vanguard was in here too, but he hadn't seen a sign of it, either. Guess it was still trying to see if the illusions could deal with him instead. I'll give it points for determination, he thought.

As Blitz wandered near the center of town, he entered the old church that stood in the core of the town, asking "Hello? Anyone here? Anyone....awake?" he ended meekly. Guess not, he thought, seeing the empty pews and abandoned books. Blitz turned to leave and was greeted by someone both alive and awake who hadn't heard his call. Taito. Blitz brightened. "Finally, a familiar face! I've been looking all over for you guys!" he walked towards Taito as he spoke. "Have you seen Deda or Zachary or Jirachi? I can't seem to find them anywhere."

As Taito entered the temple, he would be greeted with the sight of a humanoid creature of burning rock and searing flame standing in the middle of the temple. It would turn as Taito entered, then walk towards him, snarling.
