The stage was set, now it was up to Suijin to show just how much he wanted to join Tartaros and just how impressive of a fighter he was. Sure he played with the usual small crowd but he was now put up against one of the strongest dark mages in Fiore, even with his handicap this would not be easy for most. One hand and only having to make him over all move from this spot, something really not to changing for a mage one big flashy attack and Ryo would have moved a few inches or at most a meter, Suijin however proved he was not so much the big flashy heavy magic oriented mages that populated Grimiore Heart, but more so a combat mage that called Tartaros their home. Opening with a kick toward Ryo's head, before Suijin could even blink Ryo had blocked it using his forarm and lunged his hand toward Suijin belt/rim of his pants. Grabbing it firmly not moving a single bit of his lower body he would fling the long haired man with all his might most likely looking like some sort of missile as he shot from Ryo. " That all ya got? Some'thin weak like that done aint gonna do nothing. Try again ladies man. " Ryo would say as he slowly lowered his arm to his side and cooked his head back a little bit his gaze never taken off from Suijin, everyone in the background hooting and cheering, a few even laughing at this show. It would be quite obvious to Suijin that Ryo was not only strong but either was not holding back or could not holding back, meaning if he messed up and ended up getting hit with a real attack, he would be in some serious trouble! |

Suijin was sent flying backwards, and hard, along the length of the bridge and even beyond towards the street. No others were around he didn't go flying into anyone. With a flip in the air, he regained his sense of balance. He grabbed a part of the stone ground with a hand to flip right-side up, then threw his feet down hard into the ground. He skidded a good 10 meters away, till he finally stopped. A huff escaped him, the throw far stronger than he had anticipated. This guy was the real deal alright. An ace of the guild. While the other members were laughing and taking in the show, Suijin had forgone his usual facade of showing off. Now he was focused and fighting serious, to the point no one else was around but him and Ryo. After a second from stopping, he ran back forward again towards the bridge. His arms were to his sides, dashing forward head first. Direct attacks he knew would not get him anywhere, but he knew by now he couldn't risk testing shots. "Ryo, if you think that love-tap was my best, you are sorely mistaken!" Suijin snarled, his hair trailing behind him like a shark fin. As he just stepped back onto the bridge, he brought his left arm back across his right shoulder. Moisture formed before him, preparing for one of his techniques. "Water style! Shark-Frenzy!!" he roared, swiping his arm forward as he ran. From the space before him, three swirling streams of water appeared. They spun like twisters of water as they flew through the air in front of Suijin. The blasts of water was not just that. They were aiming for Ryo in unison, moving in for the kill. More than that, the water cyclones spun with a strong force, that upon contact, dealt as much damage as a sharp blade would. The water would cut at Ryo if hit. But that was not Suijin's goal. Despite his spell, he continued to charge. He ran with the momentum of his attack, just a hair's length behind it. While the spinning water cyclones closed in, he prepared to attack. Upon impact from the first spell, he then would duck, roll right in front of Ryo and strike with a sweeping kick low for his legs, designed to trip and unbalance Ryo. Between the incoming attacks of the water and his melee attack, he would at least make him more open to attack. Edited by Zaber, Mar 19 2013, 11:31 PM.

Suijin recovered from Ryo's throw a bit better then he expected, most people end up smashing into something or rolling about before coming to a stop however Suijin used some skill to get back to his feet and come back swinging. As he charged right back at Ryo he said that his kick was just a love tap, meaning he hadn't started using his full power yet, smart, but foolish at the same time. What Suijin didn't realize was Ryo had to things after his heart at all time. Things that were free and a good fight, sure Ryo loved his guild and his comrades and would give his life for them, but that was his loyalty and sense of family, his personal desires were always for things that cost nothing and a challenging interesting fight! As Suijin unleashed his first spell, a trifecta of water streams that barreled at Ryo. A water mage, Ryo could only smirk as he leaned forward and with one mighty full arm bar swing smashed his arm into the water streams head on. Smashing the spell to bits, using his own brute strength and the magic of his yukata. Ryo was a mercenary for years after before joining Tartaros after all and was prepared to go toe to toe with many mages, and was responsible for hundreds of mages dying at his own hands. As He destroyed this spell however Ryo flipped forward with his movement making sure to not actually leave this postion he jumped over the leg sweep and as he came down using the same arm as he smashed the spell with snagged Suijin and would hurl him as he came upright yet again in his flip, his feet smashing hard into the bridge assuring his placement. " There ya go! " Ryo said sarcastically as Suijin would be most likely sent flying yet again, Ryo simply just looking on in the same stance as before a rather passive one, with a smirk on his face. |

Suijin was a bit disheartened that his spell didn't do much. In truth, he didn't expect it to. His water spells were not as adept as his own martial arts. But that made no difference against Ryo. He was far stronger than any other mage he had yet to meet thus far. He though he would of gotten Ryo with the water and kick at the same time but Ryo was fast as well, not just strong! Suijin may very well be pushed to his limits just to meet the quota to hit this guy right. To his horror, Ryo had launched himself into the air for an airborne attack. He attempted to grab Suijin once more to throw him. This, Suijin, would not allow happen to him twice. "Aqua Guard!" he grunted, willing the water in the air to come to him. Right under Ryo's grip, the rings of water once again appeared like they did when those idiots from the guild hall attacked him from behind. It wouldn't be able to truly advert Ryo's throw but it would cushion the blow and throw him not as far. The throw was far less this time as the Aqua Guard gave Suijin a bit more room to act in midair. As the water swirled around his form, he grabbed hold to one of the railings along the bridge and swung himself into a crouching position upon the railing. With a firm grip on the rail and one hand free he glared at Ryo, his perch similar to that of an animal balanced on it. The gaze of a calculating predator. He was taught never to open with full force on a target, testing his opponent before moving in for the kill. The time for testing was over it seemed as Ryo was now far stronger. So Suijin had to give his all now. Suijin let out a roar of anger as he kicked off the banister of the bridge and ran back towards Ryo. Using his gauntlets he aimed to strike with the full use of his fists. He would start with a few punches towards his chest, in attempt to punch him further, then he would sweep his arm for a chopping motion to catch Ryo around where his arm met his shoulder to throw him off. He then would do another swing for his head. In hopes he would throw him off. However, one thing he left for the very end. In the event he would in fact catch one of Suijin's hands, Suijin would grin. At that instant, he would open his enclosed fist. "Palm of the Water God!!" His caught punch would be a ploy for a direct-casting of his water palm attack at point blank, hopefully throwing Ryo off with the blast of water, allowing an opening for a finishing blow. |

Just as Ryo aimed to toss Suijin yet again, a act of more so humor he activated some sort of guard that reisted Ryo's hand slightly before he was hurled, the shield seemed to buff him just enough for him to get a foot quickly and come right back up to the plate. Unleashing a barrage of well trained martial art attacks towards Ryo. What Suijin didn't realize was that Ryo himself wasn't some rough neck swordsman that was nothing more then a monkey with out a sword. Ryo had been trying to hone his own unarmed skills for the chance that he WAS disarmed. Using one arm and his greater speed Ryo smacked away the first few blows with a open hand, but as Suijin went for a chop to the next to attempt to throw off the monster of stamina known as Ryo he quickly blocked it still using the same arm! A few hits from their got thru as Ryo was only using one arm after all. The hits that landed would only be greeted by the toughened muscle of Ryo's battle hardened and constant trained body. He was known to take the hits as needed, and up till recently started to avoid a few, thus Suijin hand would feel as if it was smacking against a thick bronze wall. Suijin quickly realized these attacks were doing nothing against Ryo's and his tank like body and turned to his magic once more. Unleashing a fient of a attack with a palm blast of water that Suijin surely hoped would push Ryo back, however it just was not enough! Ryo used one more trick up his sleeve, well on his wrist and downward thrusts his wrist to interject some of the water greatly lessening the blast and the power reduced from its already weak state. Sending a powerful backhand to Suijin Ryo smirked for a moment. " Oho, not are you just a water mage but a real fight eh? " Ryo would ask raising a brow as the guild started to cheer, as it seemed they were not just making a spectacle of Suijin but slowly starting to root and give him support too! Ryo however would raised his hand toward Suijin with a smile a rather stopping signal for some reason? what could it be? " How do you find our guild, do you still so boldy wish to join us? Now that you have seen our ways? " Ryo asked boldy. |

His hands began to hurt as he attempted to strike Ryo with his attacks. The blows would connect with his guarding hand, but soon was as effective as punching stone. It reminded him when he was training back home, how he was asked to chop through the stone bricks. A state of mind to focus. The pain, he would endure. He HAD to endure, no matter how raw his fingers got from the resistance of Ryo's blocks. "I seek power..." Suijin growled, after the flurry of attacks, answering Ryo's question. His hands ached his arms trembling under the strain of furious attacks. He was nearly at his limits against this guy. Still he would not yield. With gritted teeth, his mouth slowly showed a shark-like grin. "Heh...'Your ways', are the only true laws in this world. The strong devour the weak, and what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger..." He slowly eyed Ryo with a determination that was almost scary. "I am no man who will be bound by the pointless laws of society! I will rise beyond such limits! " At Ryo's incoming thrust down into Suijin's water palm attack, Suijin was quick and reached up. This time, SUijin grabbed a firm hold of Ryo's arm. The shark-like smirk grew on Suijin's face. With a firm hold of Ryo's arm, he had no intention to be thrown aside or even struck away. He was close and was not going to surrender that ground. His fists tightened even more, despite the pain from his forceful blows against Ryo. "I will earn the power I seek! I will earn true freedom!!" he roared, building his emotional fury behind him for one final attack. "AND NO ONE... WILL STOP ME!!" He then with his free hand closed the gap to deliver a strong blow right for Ryo's face. However, should Ryo actually attempt to block with his other hand, Suijin was prepared in his actions. He would very well do what he did to Ryo's first hand, and grabbing hold of it. With both arms grappled to, he would launch his left knee upward right into Ryo's solar plex. A strong blow in the weakest point of the body, and one that would hopefully win him the challenge. |

As Suijin unleashed a barrage of blows in a shark like frenzy they would fall on deft ears. Suijin himself would find nothing but the warm comfort of a fire before him as each of his blows landed on nothing but air. Ryo slowly came back into form, his body having become fire to avoid all of Suijin's attacks. His rather common elemental ability of Fire body that avoided most attacks, his true defensive attacks that had avoided more serious attacks but turning into fire surely would get Suijin's attention to calm down, but it was not to be greeted with despair but joy. As Ryo's face came back into form, it was with a smile not a frown or serious look. " Whoa there buddy. " Ryo said with a smirk as he raised one hand and pointed to his foot, that had just barely moved from the foot imprint Ryo had placed before. This his foot out of the imprint it meant one thing and only one thing, Suijin had succeeded, Ryo had moved, meaning Suijin was in the guild! " Oops " Ryo said with a chuckle it obvious it intended to put up more of a fight but got lost in the fight and not realizing his foot had moved. " So lets see about that guild imprint eh? " Ryo would say with a firm pat on Suijin's back before starting to walk back towards the guild, everyone else moving back inside ahead of them. |

The blows Suijin made literally passed through Ryo, and it wasn't untill after that he saw that Ryo had become pure fire, his hand moving fast enough that the fire was no effective than hitting air, and snapped him out of his frenzy of desperation. He blinked as he stopped and pulled his fists back. Ryo's light tone made him stop as he pointed down to his foot. Almost afraid of a sucker punch from the guy, Suijin glanced down. He was even more baffled that he finally noticed Ryo's foot had been moved. It was no bigger than a foot back, the skid marks just brushed by the dust on the bridge. He had been so focused to try and deal the necessary blow he totally didn't see Ryo's foot moved, his attempts successful. Part of him almost suspected that Ryo may of actually let it slide on purpose. He would have to ask him that over a drink. He was now surprised as the onlooking crowd of the guild cheered, applauded, and wooted at the competitors, both for Ryo as well as Suijin who had passed their little initiation. As Ryo slapped him friendly on the back, they headed back to the wrecked up guild hall, discussing about Suijin's guild mark. The shark-like grin was still there, actually looking forward to the rest to come. Back inside, they were discussing Suijin's idea for the guild mark. He said he didn't care about hiding his affiliation to Tartaros. He wanted it to be visible upon him, displayed proudly and shamelessly. He suggested the black mark on his back, on his right shoulder blade. "Trust me, I will wear it proudly. Anyone having a problem with it otherwise I would deal with em personally," Suijin said to Ryo, explaining his viewpoint. All the while the woman from before was certianly taking an interest in Suijin, impressed by his fight and also his muscular back where he wanted the mark to go. |

Ryo smirked and lead Suijin to inside the guild, and began to talk about his guild mark, as Suijin explained he wanted it on his back as a badge of honor Ryo couldn't smile any bigger then he was, a few guild members that overheard this smiled and chuckled. " I know exactly how ya done feel " Ryo would say as he turned around and slung his yukata fully on, revealing that on the back of the yukata was the Tartaros guild mark! Ryo had put his guild symbol, a dark guilds symbol on his very clothing! Slowly raising his hair on his neck a bit he also then reveal his own black guild mark on the back of his neck, Suijin was not being foolish, he had fallen into comrades that were quite like minded. Turning back to Suijin with that same giant smile. " Well that settles that, Welcome ta' Tartaros, the guild of the casted, chastised, and forgotten. The hell hounds of war! " Ryo would explain to Suijin calmly then vigorously raising a fist and turning to his guild mates, it being quite obvious how much Ryo loved this guild and everyone in it, he was a strangely kind hearted dark mage. |

Suijin grinned at RYo. He truly had a spirit he could relate to, an ally he could easily see hanging out with and getting to know better. He had a great sense of pride in his affiliation to the more darker side of life, and one Suijin respected as well. He did chose right coming to Tartaros for a guild, and to begin his quest for the search for power he craved. Here, his power would be respected, and lead to good things for him. With his hair back, and his back already exposed, he had the guild mark placed, feeling the cool sensation of magic ink on his back. As it was pressed and waited, it was soon lifted, revealing a large black sun with a skull inside it on his back. Though he couldn't see it, it did not matter. He knew it was there, and there for all to see. Turning around, he faced Ryo with a smile and nodded at him in thanks. He would shake his hand but he didn't want to be thrown across the room again after their recent fight. "Honored to be here, friend. To power, prosper and freedom." Suijin replied to Ryo in his own way, and raised a fist towards the other members to everyone as well. He was beginning to like this den of hell he found himself in, and would treasure it soon enough. When Suijin originally wanted to join a guild, to him it was a means to an end. However, this place was starting to rub off on him and he was enjoying the atmosphere and people. Though not his stylish choice as he was a man who enjoyed the finer things in life every once in a while, it felt right and defined him very well. He gave Ryo a kind slap on his own back, retuning the favor. He was now a proud member of Tartaros. He would look forward to seeing all the bells and whistles the guild had to offer... but first things first. Suijin then went to return to the cute barmaid who greeted him earlier. He intended to get to know her very intimately... The End. |
