It was a beautiful day in Coreopsis. The sun was high, and bright white clouds littered the sky as they breezed on by. With a rice hat on, and his bright blue yukata on, Torao would find himself very comfortable. People were everywhere, and everyone seemed so happy. Though, this was of little concern to the apprentice who was still searching for a way to become stronger and to prove himself to the man who rescued him from his own ignorance. He had just literally entered the city, though he had no idea that there was an actual guild here. The large guild hall was easily noticeable, so as he continued down the streets, he would notice the structure standing bright and tall. "That's odd, what is this place?" The gravity mage thought as he opened the gate quickly, walking to the doors. He knocked loudly, looking around. His hands would fall to his hips as he awaited an answer, but he soon started to wonder if he would ever receive an answer. "Screw, it." Torao muttered, slamming the doors open as he casually walked in. Though, much to his surprise, everyone seemed to be threatened by him. Or so he thought, because at once, three to five members rushed him with large weapons sticking in his face. "Whoa guys, at least buy me dinner before you just screw me like that.." Torao said, mockingly as he started laughing. Though, the mages didn't seemed to share in his humor. "Tough crowd, huh?" He said, raising his hands to the sky. "What's your business here in Tartaros?" One of the men said, a snarl on his face. Tiger looked back to the man, confusion on his face. "What, tarter sauce? Um, I guess my business with target sauce would be that I use it as a condiment.." This seemed to really upset the man as he shouted at Torao once more. "no you fool! The guild, what is your business with the guild!" The swordsman went briefly serious as he glanced back. "Well first, I insist you put the weapons down, I can assure you I'm not here to cause any destruction or harm, But guild huh? What type of guild are you?.." OOC

OOC As the the men rushed him the sound of a chair shifting and scrapping against the wooden floor could be heard as on looked would turn to see how the scene would unfold as many people brandishing swords walking into Tartaros resulting in many wannabe's getting their faces pounded into hamburger, and even few left the guild after using a word play on the guilds name. As the men got even more aggravated that the fool had not only walked into Tartaros' guild hall with out knowing, but then not even knowing one of the three strongest dark guilds in Fiore it was just enough to make the group of men snap, as they all raised there weapons to teach him that Tartaros was the place strong mages flourished a chair would go flying thru the hall and smash into bits over the loud man who was leading the pack. The group of men minus the large man who was now on the ground covered on chair debris all turned to see where the chair had come from. " Take a seat " a almost joking tone of voice from a twenty something echoed thru the guild hall. Ryo slowly emerage from the dinning area with a smirk on his face. He hadn't really change much since last Torao had seen him, perhaps a differnt choice of clothing but over all it was him, the mysterious teacher that had taught him the basics of something by far grander, the man who had taught him to survive in this world, Ryo Hasaki. " This is a guild that values strength, and devotion to work. " Ryo would say as to approached Tarao looking over the teen. " You got fat " Ryo would say in a joking tone of voice to his student. |

Torao stepped back a few inches, watching as the man just in front of him fell to the ground. It would appear someone had thrown a chair, though this was Torao's moment to shine. "Damn, you just got knocked the f-.." But before he could finish his mockery, a similar voice would be heard. Torao's eyes widened as he pushed by the other men quickly. "No way! What are you doing here?!" Torao shouted, a wide smile on his face. The fiery haired man would continue speaking, talking about the guild and how they were committed to strength and hard work. It was a reasonable value, and Torao respected that. After all, everyone could use a dedication now and then. Though, the apprentice could only laugh. It wasn't that he found the first part of the speech funny, it was the fact he called Torao fat. The gravity mage just stood there, looking down with a blank face. "Have I really?" He said, pretending to be serious as he felt himself up. "Oh my, I need to go on a diet.. my center of gravity must be getting bigger." He finally gave up on the charade as he busted forth with laughter, returning his gaze back to Ryo. The other men who had surrounded the swordsman from before were all looking somewhat scarred. Though Torao didn't understand why. Was it so weird to know someone? It wasn't that Torao didn't realize how powerful Ryo was; he just wasn't making the connection between who was stronger. Obviously Ryo was the strongest, if not one of the strongest guys who dared call themselves a Tartaros guild member. "Oh, so this is one of them guilds. Well, I guess if it's good enough for you.. you can sign me up!" Tiger said, smirking as he moved around the lobby at a fast pace. He really did have the desire to experience everything, new and old. He would pick up picture frames, looking into them quickly before moving onto something else. Though something in the far corner would catch his eye. It seemed to be some type of mission board. "Hey, what's this?" Torao questioned, his eyes narrowing on the parchment that littered the wall. Within a few seconds, he pretended to know what he was reading. Then, after a minute or two, he stood up. "Oh I see.. Yup, I definitely can't read any of that." He said, laughing soon after. |

As Torao seemed rather shocked to see Ryo here of all places, he quickly realized he was in a true guild and one that had values that had been placed in him long ago by Ryo himself. Smiling at the boy as he seemed eager to quickly join and then move on to around the guild, first at portraits of old guild members and the guild helping the city in many events. He then quickly moved to the request board that was tuck behind the bar. As he stood their seeming to try to read it acting almost like he understood before announcing he had no clue what the heck any of it said. Ryo couldn't help but lightly laugh while a few other guild members started to laugh loudly a few even calling him stupid before Ryo would turn to them with a smirk. " Well y'all aint the brightest either, and lets face it I aint so scholar either, but we do what we can " Ryo would tell them with another light chuckle his comment seeming to bring sense to them as Ryo would then walk on over to Torao and sling his arm around his shoulder like they were old time buddies. " Well before we doing any signing of anything I think its safe ta' say I teach ya how ta' read, write, and all the other stuff ya need ta' know and work as a Tartaros mage, being that it seems ya hadn't done learned much since I left ya ta' your own " Ryo would explain to Torao as he tightened his grip on him slowly putting him into a notion that it was not up for debate. " Oi Cora, hand me a few of dem book ya read on your lunchs and maybe a few of my old requests " Ryo would ask the waitress as she came out from the back, she nodded and quickly walked away to gather the things. " Best put together us something ta' call lunch too " Ryo would call out as he would let Torao go and sit down on the bar stool and glance at the one next to him for him to sit. |

Torao moved over to a few benches in the corner of the room. Around him, a few Tartaros guild members who seemed somewhat apathetic to his handicap. For some reason though, the swordsman didn't view himself as disadvantaged. He was proficient enough to count his money, and he could read certain food names easily enough. It wasn't as if he actually cared about reading. Books were boring when he could just as easily go out and watch a lacrima picture show. Crossing his arms, he looked to the windows. A few guys sitting at a nearby table were busy talking about some type of mystical fighter who had been spotted in the city. Torao's eyes widened as he soon rushed to their table, slamming his hands down on the table. "fighter? Where..is he strong?!" He asked, his own curiosity starting to eat at him. The men looked up to Torao, eyes low. They seemed to be surprised, was this kid really eavesdropping on them? They turned to each other, shrugging. "Well, you see.. there's this rumor of this unique magician who's been running around Fiore." Torao titled his head as they explained the situation, confused. "What makes his magic so special?" he questioned them. The guy to his right spoke this time, using a wide assortment of hand gestures as way to emphasize his points. "Well, it's like this. If anyone defeats this guy, he'll give them what ever they so desire! His magic, you ask? It's the ability to live in the shadows." Torao's eyes widened even more as he let out a "ohhhhhhh". He was definitely interested. "I could..win free food huh?" He shouted, questioning the men. They looked back to each other, obviously fighting back the urge to laugh. "You're telling me, you can choose anything you want.. and you'd choose food?" Torao nodded in response, smirking. By this time, Ryo had started requesting a few novels from the waitress behind the counter, so doing what a good apprentice usually did, he would go back to sitting on the benches. Not before thanking the men though. They thought of Torao's actions as a little weird, but hey, that was Torao. His undying curiosity to experience new things, and his innocence really did draw people to him. Though, despite his normal perception. He had an undying will, that would never falter. For there were two sides of Torao, one being an extreme hardened, tactical warrior.. the other, an innocent, careless man. As Ryo mentioned something about lunch, his ears would perk up. "Oh, hell yes!" He said, cheering loudly as he stood on bench that he had been sitting on. He raised his sword, shouting. He opened his eyes, only to notice everyone staring at him. Slightly laughing, he fell back to his seat, looking towards Ryo. "So, what next?" |

As Torao seemed to meander off to some bench talking with some guild members who seemed to be attempting to get to know the quick to be distracted mage Ryo would simply just sigh. At least he was getting along with the other guild members for now. However it quickly became clear as Ryo had yelled for a lunch to be prepared for them and Torao took to standing on the bench sword drawn in excitement that..Torao indeed would be the next clown of Tartaros as Ryo was when he joined. The guild hall filled with laughter and Ryo rather slammed his palm straight into his own forehead. " Oi, Rao! Get your ass over here! " Ryo would with a stomp of his foot, Ryo knack for shortening peoples names already starting or perhaps had just started again as he called for Torao to come to the bar. " Now ya listen here, ya aint in till ya are atleast able to function as a guild mage, So your sticking with me today. I'ma show you bout the town, teach'n ya bout guild requests'. How this here guild works, and anything else like reading ya need ta' know to function. " Ryo would say and knowing that this wasn't enough to keep Torao complete attention he had to sweeten the pot. " And when we are done, not only can ya join the guild, but ya get a free lunch. " Ryo would say with a smirk however he wanted Torao to truly give it his all to learn today and remember it so he would sweeten the pot even more. " AND If ya make it thru all that and really learn this here stuff, Im'a teach ya the first level sword technique somethin' new for ya ta' use. " Ryo would tell Torao promising to teach him more of the Hasaki style swordsmanship meaning something of combat worth along with free food and actual lessons. Hopefully with the chance to learn more swordsmanship from Ryo and free food hanging in the balance would push Torao hard enough to really apply himself to the lessons Ryo was going to try to teach him on how to become a true guild mage and how to function. It wouldn't be anything to hard but it wouldn't be easy for a guy like Torao as surely it wasn't for Ryo when he was first starting out. Torao at least had the help of having a teacher who was also quite simple to explain and teach him in the matters of being a mage and surviving. |

Torao looked around, noticing the excitement. "Why's everyone laughing?" He muttered, head tilting slightly to the side. Sadly though, before he could ask around, he had been summoned. "Coming!" He shouted. And with that, he ran straight towards Ryo. Did the swordsman just call him 'Rao'? Nice, that actually sounded pretty legit. The Tiger, Rao. There was a lot to learn apparently, though Torao's heart only belonged to training and food. This was the truth, and as he sat there listening to Ryo, it would become apparent that the man wanted him to learn as much as possible, AND to induct him into the guild. Well, this was great news! Though, more GREAT news, would follow. "Free..FREE LUNCH?..AND A NEW TECHNIQUE?" His shouting filled the area as the mage threw himself forward, face just inches from Ryo's own as he waited for reassurance that he wasn't just hearing things. Though, something else would pull at the man's curiosity. He lifted his finger, poking Ryo's cheeks. "So..I always wondered why you speak so weird. Is there like, a voice box transmitted in your head or something?" Rao leaned back, hands on his lap as he looked around. He really was like a child, and though most of the members at Tartaros thought him as a fool, he was anything but. He just knew how to relax, and not take himself so seriously. For the gravity swordsman was a master strategist, and his instinct in combat was far superior to most. Though he would admit that he was pretty hungry, so maybe Ryo wouldn't notice if he just..took someone Else's chicken leg? He shrugged, there was honestly only one way to find out. So he slowly rose, and slowly walked towards another member who sitting at a table, enjoying what appeared to be a delicious meal. Torao decided he had to be quick, and tapped on the man's left shoulder. As the man looked behind him, Torao jumped to the front of the table, grabbing the man's plate and moving back to Ryo as soon as possible. The man turned around, noticing that his plate was gone. He looked around, but it was too late, Torao was already sitting with his back to the man. The mage let out a grumble, and found himself leaving. Torao however, was snickering wildly as he stared down the Chicken, the potatoes which seemed to be doused in cheese, and the cranberries. Oh, this would be absolutely delicious, and he was starting to get really excited about becoming a Tartaros mage. |

Ryo would ignore Torao's first question on as to why everyone was laughing as he too just was used to it when Ryo was the clown of Tartaros that everyone used as the butt of their jokes and pun of every line but he liked it that when when he had first started he didn't mind being the source of jokes if it meant it lightened the mood up of the guild hall and kept his guildmates laughing. As Torao then moved on to the rest of the questions and got extremely close to Ryo's face in disbelief he then moved to ask yet another question one of which no one really had ever asked Ryo but it was quite annoying. Ryo's right eye twitched for a moment. " Because I'ma from da' south, its a matter of accent and how the be speaking where I'm from " Ryo would explain Torao with a aggravated tone and sigh. " and ya lunch and a technique..BUT ONLY if you really try in these lessons I'ma be teach'n ya " Ryo would say again trying to pound into Torao's head that he would have to work to earn that tech and the lunch. " Also...I'd watch what'ya be pilfering from them folks, ya may think they are harmless right now but ya pushing ya, we aint like most folks ya can't just going around taking what ya want like its nothing, push boundaries and ya end up with out my help and a few of these folks beating your face in. " Ryo would explain to Torao as the waitress girl appeared behind the bar with a picnic basket and a few books. " Here ya go, these should work for ya " she would tell Ryo sweetly with a wink of her. " Get them dirty or loose them and you loose your family jewels tho~ " She would say almost seeming to be singing as she walked away with a wave of her hand. It would become apparent in Toaro mind now that Ryo had a point, the guild valued power and if Torao kept pushing the limits of kindness toward him, they would show him just how strong they were, and if Ryo was close to being top dog that meant alot of these guys would be more then a match if now able to push Torao around like nothing. |

(OOC: taking place before he joined TT and got his guild mark) At that time, another stranger was making his way towards the doors of Tartaros. This stranger was far more smarter than the boy Ryo was with at that moment. He had been in the city of Coreopsis for a few days now, having taken in the sights of the beautiful city of water that floated upon this magnificent lake. He had explored many of the interconnecting boats of the city, and now made his way to his final destination. When he first arrived in Fiore from the distant eastern continent, this man didn't know of how guilds were interconnected and used by many in these lands. Guild politics he could of cared less about, but there were those of his... persuasion. Guilds not tied by the moral obligations of society, which appealed to him. When he learned of such a guild in this beautiful city of water, the man couldn't help but smirk. Suijin Azurestorm made his way to this guild, spotting the large building in the distance. He walked into a more... dismal sector of town, a separate island that looked rather run down and dirty. The building was dark and towering, seeming almost as if it had been condemned. It almost seemed like a clock tower or church at one point but it was now a grizzly tower that almost looked haunted. Suijin cocked an eyebrow at the place, almost thinking he was at the wrong place from what he heard. It wasn't however did he see an emblem of a black sun and a skull on one of the covered windows. After looking over the questionably built tower, Suijin just let out a sigh and decided to try his luck. Stepping over some debris he made his way to the doors of the tower. As everyone inside was talking and getting used to the new guy, the doors opened to reveal Suijin. He stood rather formidable inside the door frame, the light accenting his muscular toned body (particularly because he was shirtless) and his unnaturally long blue hair. Also his handsome face stood out well as while some would consider him a pretty boy at first glance, his stern eyes spoke of a dangerous presence behind it. Needless to say, like before, Suijin did not get the most warmest of welcomes. No sooner did he take two steps into the place, he was met by a roughian like before. This guy was rather moderate in height, wearing some ratty clothing with a tattoo running along his left cheek. His face was unkept with a light beard as he brought up a blade of his own, aiming it to come to Suijin's chest and throat. "HA! There is just no end of fools coming into our turf today, is there?" the man boasted, causing some other guild members nearby to laugh. "Get lost, pretty boy! Only men allowed in this neck of town! You don't want to mess with a dangerous guy like me!" Suijin however, looked the guy intensely without saying anything while he boasted. Finally, cracking a small, devious smirk, Suijin replied calmly despite the weapon to him. "Hm, I don't see a man. I see a pretty little girl. I think I will call you Britney," Suijin replied curtly as he watched the man's expression changed from cocky to angry. "Now put that thing away before you hurt yourself," he said , urging to be let in. "Like hell, you--" the man roared as he brought the knife back to stab Suijin in the chest. However, those eyes sharpened with awareness as he then brought his arm up. In a firm grip he took hold of the man's knife-wielding arm and brought it up, taking him out of the threat of the dagger's aim. In a quick motion, he closed the gap between him and the smaller man till he was chest to chest. He then gave the arm a cruel twist, and hearing a snap. The man let out a cry of pain as Suijin wounded his arm, causing him to drop the knife with a clatter. To end it well, he then brought his knee up and landed it right into the man's gut, causing him to have the wind knocked out of him. Letting go of the guy, Suijin let him crumble to the ground, while the men just looked in silent shock to see their friend get knocked down like that. All the while, Suijin walked away as composed and cool as he did before. He got some angry stares from those who saw the fight but paid them no mind. In the end he liked the attention. A good example made of those who wanted to pick a fight with him as that fool did. Watching however was the young waitress girl. Despite the brutality he possessed, the woman was immediately struck by not only his charming face, but how effortlessly he took down the foolish punk. Daring to, she approached him, and soon stood in his path. "Um... greetings, what brings you here?" She said, a touch of blush obvious on her face. Suijin cracked a smile. He was too familiar with how women kept being drawn to him but he could always appreciate a pleasant welcome from a lovely lady. Suijin brushed a lock of his blue hair back in a cool gesture and he could of sworn he heard the girl give a sigh of desire. "I want in," he replied simply, smirking at her. "In?" she asked hesitantly, now her face flushed red as to question what did he wanted to be in of. "Your guild. Tartaros. What must I do to join?" he asked clearly, a charming smile on his face. |

Torao by now was digging into the food in front of him. Though, while he ate, he would make sure to stay attentive to what his sensee was saying. It was very important to head the man's words, especially when you're the pupil of that man. "The south huh.." Rao muttered, mouth full of food. He nodded as if he understood, only hesitating after Ryo dared to tell him that he would only get to learn the new technique, as well as receive lunch AFTER giving it his all. That would be easy, or so Torao thought. Then, just as he started eating again, Ryo would lecture him on his etiquette. Everything he was saying was important to know, and after finishing his plate, he would nod. "That'll be the last time!" He said, a gleeful smile on his face. The waitress appeared with a picnic basket, which Rao eyed with interest. He noticed the books, but for some reason didn't give them too much attention. Torao stood up, ready to leave when all of a sudden the doors busted open. There stood a somewhat odd looking fellow. He had a weird, bronze sculpted chin. His muscles were quite large, though he wasn't wearing a shirt. Maybe that's why he seemed so big. "The hell..?" Torao thought, as he turned back to Ryo momentarily. As he entered, the swordsman looked around. "HEY! Everyone got all pissy when I came in. What about him?.." Torao thought, crossing his arms. Before he could finish that thought, someone would speak up. The man started by insulting the newcomer, calling him pretty boy. Apparently he wasn't a man. Well, this was somewhat confusing? But he did have long blue hair, so maybe he really wasn't a man. Torao figured he would save this question for a later time though, watching intently as the small fight escalated. Just as quickly as the fight started, it ended. Torao looked around, only to notice a few men gasping. Well, shit.. This was starting to turn into a somewhat surprising day. Torao decided that it really wasn't any of his business to intervene between guild business. At least not yet, so with a smile he would turn to face Ryo. "That's over with, are we ready?" With his hands falling to his sides, the gravity mage would turn to survey the now quiet room. Well, that was certainly a damper on the mood. Edited by Madge, Feb 15 2013, 03:48 AM.
