Yes Tormoru was nearly done. Yet there was some confusion as to why the hell she was going this far. Never, in the past years she had lived at her house in Coreopsis had she bothered with Christmas. It reminded her of the fact she wasn't with family, that she was alone. Cold and alone on christmas was her tradition apparently, yet countering the cold was the copious amounts of alcohol she consumed in the name of holiday spirit. Oh god did she enjoy holiday spirits. And how did she combat the loneliness, well there were plenty of other lonely people out there and why couldn't they be lonely together. Sharing body warmth was a thing right? Smiling to herself as she hooked the last bit of fairy light around the top of her window she stepped down from the icy ladder, taking care not to slip and fall. Taking a step back she looked at her house. Now was the time to finish the job. Bending down she touched the various decorations she had bought. A couple or wreaths, some mistletoe, a few lacrima stones that when activated created an icicle effect out of lights. It would be perfect. She could feel the air getting colder and sure that tonight would be a night where snow would fall again, it had last night and coated the streets in a layer of snow. This also begged the question of why she was still dressed in such small clothing, she'd have to change to go out. "Law's Will" She muttered, activating one of her magic techniques. The decorations she'd touched glowed and lifted into the air. With one hand she waved it back and forth, side to side, sending each decoration to its rightful place. The lacrima icicle lights flew to the edge of her roof, the wreath, to her door, the mistletoe to the top of it. There she was finished. All that was left was activate the lacrima lights. Sending magic into a switch they lit instantly, making her usually nice house look tacky. But it was all for a Christmas where she actually wasn't alone, she planned to have someone over and that person was Sion. Or at least she hoped it would be, the invitation hadn't actually been formed or accepted but if she played her cards right he'd come. The decorations were to make it look like she actually cared about the holiday. And if that didn't work a promise of a present might entice him. Two of these presents were set firmly in her mind. Once in doors it took no time at all for the sky to release the limitless amount of snow it had stored. As it fluttered down Tormoru did feel a warmth in her, it was like a scene from a book. This warmth however would not suffice outside and she'd have to wear something more substantial. Covering her legs with some thick tights and placing on a slightly longer skirt (not much longer), she wrapped her top half up, wearing a vest top and a thick cardigan. A long coat on top of this along with a scarf, gloves and hat completed her look. She was ready to venture out and see what other idiots were shopping around. Locking her door she took a moment to look at her decorated house...it was looking, well a bit better than she first thought...but still too christmassy. Edited by Nevarus, Dec 2 2012, 05:15 PM.

Christmas was a new experience for him. The light touch of the cottony white fluff that rained from the sky was enough to amaze him. The cheery voices of the crowd was another as some were singing some sort of a song that he could not understand why and some children were about, playing along the white river of the white stuff. Tyf heard that it was called snow but he didn't really know what it was until now. Fiore may have slipped into the winter season but this was his first time to experience the phenomenon. In fact, during his journey in the past few days, by train at that, he had only felt the chill in the air and the holiday spirit from decorations in the train and the warm red velvet chocolates served per meal. But when he reached Coreopsis, it was far different from what he expected. "Achoo!" He sneezed slightly before arranging the scarf-like cape he had to cover his lower face. Then he looked around at the decorated city where lacryma powered lights were drawn among houses, some magical runes drawn in the air for art's sake and decoration, and lampposts having wreaths and green decorations with little golden bells. It was really lively walking along the street as well though he wondered how such a phenomenon could turn the entire town into such. Was it a cult? And walking off from the station, he found that the white fluff that gathered along the street was soft and easily gave way to his weight upon stepping. He almost jumped at the cold when his foot was buried but he quickly pulled out and looked around even more amazed by the city. "This is certainly a magical place. I would love to get to know it more." He muttered as he finally began walking along the road. From what he'd know about Coreopsis was that it was a famous place for lovers during another phenomenon called Valentine's Day. He was still trying to cope with this country's traditions and culture that he came to a realization that there was just too many of these so-called phenomenon that the people of Fiore followed. Hopefully, he would not offend anyone if he were to suddenly forget about it and ask about it more. And he stopped over one of the food stalls along the main plaza. A warmth had lured him there, especially when he was far from being adjusted since he was a desert folk not a winter yeti. And there, he found himself some piping hot choco being sold as well. He eager indulged himself with it before he would freeze to death. Sipping into the hot mug, he found a spot beneath one of the neatly decorated lampposts and there he stood for a moment to take in the beauty of the city. He couldn't help but wonder if Coreopsis would look any different if it was not Christmas. He wondered if the atmosphere would change or that the people would be less cheery or the children less mischievous and freely playing about. And as he wondered while taking another long and satisfying sip from his mug of hot choco, he was caught unaware and hit by a snowball dead on the face. He fell back and rolled on the snow. He heard the children shrieking in alarm before footsteps began running away. And as he wiped his face clean, still sitting by the snowy ground, he was more amazed at how solid and hard the snowball felt rather than to see his hot choco thrown in the air to form chocolate looking cotton balls from suddenly freezing in the cold air. |

Queueing was not a favourite hobby of Tormoru's, but with the bitter cold of the beautiful snow biting at her skin the dark mage had to indulge in something. Yet hot chocolate was not something she was fond of, hot drinks were always just a little too hot for her and waiting for it to cool down was kind of made it a bit redundant. Nope, instead she was queuing for a heat lacrima device that was being sold at a shop she had passed. It seemed quite popular with the public and Tormoru was not about to break the trend. Sighing deeply anyone could tell she was fed up. Gloved hands in pockets, head retracted into her scarf slightly like a turtle and the odd shiver showed she was cold, and there was good reason to be, after all her breath was easy to see along with everyone else's. "Next!" The clerk shouted, causing Tormoru to quickly take her place at the counter. Indicating she wanted one of the devices the transaction went through and the money and change exchanged. Now she could finally go and continue with the rest of her shopping, well after she ignited the lacrima inside. Yes, this device apparently needed a source of fire to heat it up. However Tormoru had not realised this before leaving the shop, and to queue to get back in just for a flimsy flame was stupid. A saviour, in the form of a little girl, was close buy. Her entrepreneurial skills shining brighter than the lights along the streets. She'd realised people needed fire for the small pocket heater, and now had decided to sell matches to those idiots who hadn't taken advantage of the free fire inside. Sighing once more the dark mage wandered over, usually she'd just threaten the child and take a match but in the spirit of Christmas, and the fact the girl looked like she needed the money, Tormoru bought a match from the girl, lighting it and activating the device. The device which sat round her neck only lasted a couple of hours but was worth it. Its amber light radiating heat from the pendant. Now she could go shopping comfortably. The shopping district was a small walk away and so wouldn't take long to reach. Walking down the street the dark mage was stopped once more, although this was out of sheer enjoyment. Stumbling along the scene of a bunch of young boys targeting a guy who looked like a bankrupt rich man that reached rock bottom. Throwing a snowball at him they caused his hot drink, and him to fall to the floor. Not being able to control her laughter Tormoru literally cackled at the man's misfortune. A fit of sharp inhales followed as she struggled for breath. That was funny! |

Just then, Tyf's attention was drawn elsewhere as he saw a woman nearby who was laughing. Of course, he didn't think she was laughing at him or his predicament and was just simply being merry. He smiled at her and then saw from behind her that more of the kids were throwing snowballs around. Apparently they all seemed to have fun doing it. Then, while manners were always the priority, something from within his mind clicked and he came to a kneel. He placed the mug on the ground, now empty of its contents. A sigh escaped his lips as he thought about how tasty the chocolate actually was now that he thought back into it. Perhaps he should buy one later. He then drew his hands around and began to collect some of the snow around him and from observation earlier, he did came to realize that when put together, the snow could hold itself, a bit heavy and when pounded and compressed, a little harder than normal. Then without a warning and hoping to catch the others off guard, he suddenly came to a stand and threw the snowball at the running kids. Of course, the consequence of such an act had only dawned into him a moment later, just when the said snowball had escaped from his hands and was already flying, darting towards its target. And his face paled and he felt what those kids from earlier had felt - dread and the want to run away. But he never ran away from fights but to think he'd hit a woman with a snowball?! And the cold air just blew past behind him as he straightened himself. Hands soothed his unrolled sleeves that helped keep the warmth and his scarf-like cape was still doing its job to keep his heat within. But strangely enough, he could feel the biting chill of the air in each breath. "Oops. I didn't mean for that." he suddenly said, realizing his error and just too proud to slip away or perhaps he realized that there would be no honor to simply leave. "I really do apologize." he was now making his way towards the woman and reaching out his hand towards her. Hopefully, she was not hurt by it. He was just hoping to hit one of the fleeing boys behind her but of course he forgot that she was in the way. And to be honest, he actually forgot that he was not a kid anymore. Perhaps it was just the sight of the kids having fun and how the atmosphere around him being all jovial and fun and mischievous at the moment that he allowed himself to be absorbed by it. "Are you hurt?" he added, coming closer to her, and perhaps a little too close for comfort. |

Her fit of laughter was abruptly interrupted. The hurtling snowball had hit her with more force than it's launcher had been hit. Had he been so annoyed at her cackle that instead of running after those boys he took his anger out on her. How dare he, she'd been a innocent witness to the action and yet was now caught up in it. Anger bubbled up in her, her face was cold, her chest a little wet due to the snow melting and seeping to it A few bits of hair clung to her face as they'd been dowsed with the watery snow. Her little jaunt out today had turned into a humiliating experience and now she felt like a tit. He'd not escape unscathed, she had a reputation in Coreopsis, he'd effectively launched an attack against Tartaros. Tormoru would not let him get away, she'd not let him have mercy. Yet she didn't have any weapons on her. Crap, she'd not thought to bring any of her blades. Shit on a cracker! She'd have to get revenge another way or at least bring him to the place where her blades were. It looked like an impromptu plan was forming, first she'd have a little fun, try to embarrass him, frighten him maybe. Yes, and she'd use his guilt to make sure he followed. Trying to force a few tears to her eyes she looked up at him with the best innocent girl face. "Y-y-you hit me!" She squealed, welling up as if she was truly hurt. "H-how dare you, I mean you were just hit, you know how it feels yet you hit me!, How're you make this u-" She pulled herself up with his outstretched hand. The fact that he made sure they were close worked in her favour, maybe she wouldn't have to work too hard. "I'm not too hurt, but some of my clothes are wet through. Oh, I was supposed to go shopping and now I have to go back and get changed, can't look like this unless..." She ranted, stopping to put one of her index fingers to her lips. Looking Tyf up and down she smiled. "I'll forgive you if you do one thing for me..." She hesitated to make it seem real, no real stranger would outright ask like this but she was on a time frame. "Help me shop today, I need to get a few things for Christmas and it'd be helpful for a big strong man like you to carry my stuff, after all I might have hurt my arm if I fell on ice!" Tormoru wiped a bit of snow off of her coat and looked at him with puppy dog eyes. She needed him to say yes...then her revenge plan would work! "What's your name anyway migth I ask, I'm Torie!" Tormoru enjoyed using aliases, that way they couldn't track her by name and all. |

Tyf was slightly worried and it showed in his face when the woman had said she was hurt from the fall. Still he remained smiling at her and at the back of his head he could already hear himself reprimanding his own immaturity for dragging people into trouble. He ought to punish himself for not being wary and should abstain from takoyaki for the rest of his Coreopsis visit. Of course, the thought was quickly overrun when the woman had suggested what he do in return to pay off the debt he caused by injuring her. And surprisingly, he easily agreed to it. "I see. I'm very sorry that you were hurt. Please forgive me," he replied as he began to adjust the scarf-like cape and took off. With a smooth move, he drapes the red cloth over her shoulder and securely wound it around her neck quicker than she could probably complain about it. "There, at least you won't feel cold when we go shop." Then he took his place next to her, taking a few steps forward to where the shopping district should be before pausing and turning back to face her. He raised his hand towards her once more in a gentlemanly way as he spoke, "Shall we head over there, then?" He was still calm and composed despite his minor error a few moments ago. Perhaps it was the training or perhaps it was just how he was brought up to be. Still, it was a strange event to have met the woman in such a way and to think that he would actually accompany her and do as she say. Then again, perhaps it was knowing that he had a responsibility towards her that he agreed to it. And as they would walk, he would also share his name, "My name is Talas Yudo Faranbald." and it would seem as though he had no qualm whatsoever with sharing it. And that could be attributed to his deep pride for his clan's name and as well as courtesy to a lady. "I shall make sure to be at your service for this trip, Lady Torie." |

Torie...or rather Tormoru was surprised by the stranger's response, she'd not expected him to follow her so easily, at the very least she expected to have to show some cleavage to make this man her toy for this evening. Maybe he was gay...or probably more likely a honest gentleman. This man seemed weird...his skin looked tanned but she couldn't quite tell. Maybe he wasn't a Coreopsis citizen, it was unlikely seeing his outfit and tone. It didn't mater, the first part of her revenge plan was on its wa- She was caught off guard by the scarf being wound round her neck. She'd have thought he was trying to kill her and reacted differently if she'd not been caught off guard. The scarf, the new one around her neck, was not cold or sodden. Rather it was warm, and its scent was...well its scent was off him. She wasn't sure what it smelt of yet cinnamon came to mind. Tormoru looked up at her stranger friend, their eyes met for a second and a cool breeze tousled his hair with its invisible fingers. God she couldn't wait to tousle his hair..wait no, she couldn't wait to cut his throat, that's what she should have been thinking. A deep red blush tinted her cheeks before she faked a coughing fit. Moving away from him it took a few seconds to realise he was metres ahead. Wow he was a fast bastard. Jogging forward she shoved her hands back into her pockets. "Well Mr. Faranbald I'll make sure you're of use even if you don't want to be," She chuckled, smirking slightly showing a more playful side of her new alias. It wouldn't take them long to reach the first destination. A walk under a beautiful arch that was slowly building up with snow, across a bridge where the water underneath was slowly icing over. As the flakes fell they'd pile up on Tormoru's coat, a couple of times she had to swipe them off. Then they reached the first shop, one full of bright cheer and whimsy. Outside stood two giant candy canes, a hand made sign hung over the door of the bakery. Inside had many breads, sweet pastries and gingerbread cookies. She'd get a variety of them for when Sion would visit, she was sure he'd like them. |

Tyf was slightly surprised when Torie had not accepted the hand offered and preferred to keep to herself. He would have to note that ladies of the new country was not like the ladies back home that easily fell prey to any man's mischief. Of course, he wasn't being mischievous at that moment and he was quite impressed by her "independence" or the sort as reflected by her actions and words. He must admit that that side of her was quite charming though he was still unsure how much of it was true. Wasn't it just a moment ago that she seemed so defenseless and now she was proving quite the commandeering woman. Tyf chuckled slightly as the thought that he might be slightly masochistic entered his mind. It did not take long before they reached the shopping district, the snowcapped archway was the sign and walking across one of the bridges to freely see the slowly icing river below was spectacular. Tyf couldn't hide the amazement in his face though he wasn't acting like a kid to be honest. It was just that he kept looking about with wonder in his eyes as if he was expecting things to suddenly jump around and amaze him more. The icing river was one thing, the reflection slowly frozen and small crack marks turning white though the current could still be seen underneath the top layer of it. Then the gathered snow of the falling white fluff was all around them and he wondered just how it was made to appear at that time of the year. Surely it was not an all year round event, and surely he was beginning to regret not carefully studying geography and climate relations. The first stop was a bakery and from outside the scent of freshly baked goods inside was warming. As a gastronomic explorer, he was already defining raisins, cocoa, cheese, strawberry, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, and tea extracts in the wind that blew the scent from the bakery. Already, he was imagining how these bread would be baked and how funky and quirky they could get as the yuletide season was all about fun. A customer exiting the shop showed a bit of a tease when he saw it was a shaped bread inside her basket in the form of a fat man with a pointy hat and beard. "There he is again." he uttered before looking back at Torie, "Lady Torie, just who is this fat man with a beard and a pointy hat that seems to be celebrated during this season? I've seen him in some decorations on the way here and now there's a bread in his image." |

Sion shifted the cigarette between his lips. It hadn't been too long since he took up smoking, but it was definitely a keeper. He took another drag and slowly exhaled the snow, trying to form rings like he had seen others do. Of course he knew what kind of horrible effects smoking could have on the body, but hey, he already knew he was something different from a normal human, so he might as well make good use of it. It helped him calm down a lot, plus for him, had no negative effects. This habit was a keeper. Back in the bigger streets, Sion had gotten some strange looks. It was snowy and cold, yet he was wearing a simple black t-shirt which hugged his toned body in a way that, though tight, didn't have him shamelessly showing off. It was just a comfortable shirt. Below that, a simple pair of jeans and sneakers, and a ring the shape of a skull decorated his left ring finger. It was an unusual outfit for him, but for some reason, he didn't feel like keeping up his posh appearance during a time like this. Even more, the clothes were comfortable. Who knew, maybe he would keep wearing them after this time. Que music Right now, however, Sion was chasing a man through one of the more shady alleys of the city. This guy was yet another Tartaros traitor, and like any traitor, Sion was going to make short work of him. The man tried to throw a trash can in the white-haired mage's way, but he effortlessly jumped it, and kept his footing despite the slippery half-molten snow. Sion noticed that they were entering one of the better parts of the town again. Time to make a quick end to this. Unslinging Nidhogg from his back, he took a strange grip on the hilt. The sword transformed into a matter of seconds, so that now, a large, long, and especially threatening-looking barrel was now aimed at the man's back. One of the side blades' hilts made a 90-degree turn to give Sion a second grip, which he took. "Hasta la vista, baby!" he exclaimed with a grin before pulling the second grip backwards, the trigger for firing the cannon. A large flash, a bang, and the man was hit in the back by an incredibly fast and incredibly painful projectile. The traitor was launched through the street, barely avoiding collision with passer-bys, followed by a trail of smoke. "Nothing to see here!" Sion said as he walked across the street. The man had come to a stop inside of a bakery. Shifting the cigarette again, he walked over to the smoking guy. "Well, that's that." he said with a grin. When he noticed others looking at him, he snarled: "I said nothing to see here!" prompting them to quickly hurry off. He looked at the counter to tell the cashier to calm down, and instead found Tormoru there, along with some other guy. "Oh heya there, Torm! Friend of yours?" he asked, indicating the guy next to her. It was strange how he was acting as if he totally didn't just blow some now-unconscious guy across the street. He looked at his right hand and noticed he still had his sword in his hand. With a whistle, he sheathed it again, looking rather out-of-place with his warm weather clothing and big-ass sword on his back. |

The commotion could be heard from a mile away, the usually bright Christmas cheer of the shopping district being ripped apart by the sound of shouting and calamity. Oh this wouldn't do, as a Tartaros mage and a proud one at that she felt obliged to protect the city her guild was in, and that meant interfering in whatever chase was going on. But with no weapons on herself she might not have been able to do it, crap, why of all days did she not have the means to skewer this Faranbald guy nor take on whoever was interrupting her shopping for Christmas. Tightening her fists inside her pockets she pouted, obviously looking irritated as a body flew through the air and crashed just outside the bakery. However just before she ran over there and kicked the crap out of these vandals she realised the scenario she'd concocted was slightly different than the actual one. Standing in front of her was another white haired man in her life, the very person that she was hoping to spend the twenty fifth with, and now the very man that was causing her blood to boil once more in anger, god, if anyone else annoyed her today she'd probably die of high blood pressure. Sion had made such a scene, and now greeted her with her actual name, along with a very stupid look on his face. God he'd changed a bit since their mission and now he was all chummy. He was going to ruin everything, her revenge plan, his secret presents. Tormoru knew he'd follow her, especially with a stranger, she would just have to find a way to distract him in each shop so that she could buy what she needed! It kind of sounded like fun, especially if she could get Sion in embarrassing situations as well. From anger to sly excitement she put on her best frowny face so that he could see she was clearly annoyed. "Yo..." She coldly replied, raising her hand to acknowledge him but then lowering it to show she was pissed off. So instead of chit chatting with her team mate she shot her hand out, grabbing hold of the fairly handsome Mr. Faranbald man and storming into the bakery, hopefully dragging him with her. "Come on Baldy! We're going" She uttered as she stepped along, yes, he really didn't have a choice. As the door opened a sweet little bell chimed, it was used to alert the owner to any customers. Inside it was like a sweet wonderland, cookies, sweet breads and more almost lit the shop up them selves, many of them seemingly sparkling and looking ever so enticing. Tormoru couldn't help but to drool a bit, an unattractive quality yet no one could resist it in this shop. "Lets have a look around..." She exhaled, as if some great pleasure was about to happen. |
