There was only one person in the store right now, and he wasn't sure if there were anybody else who would come in. He hope that they did because he didn't want to be standing here without doing anything. He wanted to do more work, and get things done with. This was his job for his guild to be done, and he wanted to get things done. Well that was good, but he wonder who was going to get that wedding cake. He knew that the men in the back weren't going to make something like that just to make it. Yuurei figured that there would be someone else who would come in this store. That was good, and he smile. That was good to know, and right now he needed to take care of this customer. The light wizard wonder why she was still looking around. It seemed like she couldn't figure out what she wanted. He felt like he was here to help her. If not he felt like she would just leave without buying anything here. That was something he couldn't allow to happen. He had sold about nine cakes, and there were more to be sold for the time being. The light wizard just coughed a bit as he was clearing his throat, so he could speak to her. He didn't want to sound weird why he was talking. After he cleared his throat he smiled at his customer. "Hi there do you need any help with what you're looking for my lady?" he asked her wondering what she was going to say to him. It seemed like she was just was out of it, and he chuckled a bit as he noticed that she had begun to move right now as she moved her head down towards him. He just kept his smile at her, and she smiled at him. The woman walked over towards him, and put her hand on top of the counter. "Hi there I was looking for a cake, but for some reason no matter how hard I look for it, I can't find it. I tried really hard, but it doesn't seem like there is noway I can come up with what I wanted. I just think I should go vanilla, or chocolate, but I'm not sure. Its really hard for me to figure out what I want without going through this long struggle," she paused for a bit looking at him. Yuurei began to think about how he would be able to help her out with this. He began to look around for a better solution for her. "You sure there isn't anyway you could come up with what you want? How about you flip a coin to find out which of the two you want more?" he asked her wondering what she was going to say. The woman thought about what he said, but after a while of thinking he decided that it wasn't best to do something like that. "Nah I wouldn't do that. There's noway I could come up with a decision like that. I'll probably regretted later on. What to get, what to get," she said looking around again. Yuurei was thinking really hard, and looked around for a solution. There had to be something here that she would love. That was when he saw it. He wonder why the woman didn't see this type of solution right now. It was a top layer of vanilla, and the bottom layer was chocolate. This should be good for her. "I found the perfect cake for you. I hope you like it," he said as he pulled it out of the display, and placed it on the counter. The woman just looked at the cake as well, and was surprised to see what it was. That was the perfect cake, and she blushed to have this man help her like this. "Half vanilla, and half chocolate. Just what you would want," he said with a smile on his face. She smiled as well, and was glad that he was able to find this for her. "Its perfect, and I don't have to dispute on what I want. I get the best of both world. Thank you very much sir," she said as she was taking out the money for the cake. She handed exactly the amount of jewel the cake cost. He smiled as he took it, and placed it in the register. Yuurei began to wrap the cake up, and handed it to the woman. She grabbed it without a problem, and walked towards the exit of the store. He was glad to be able to do all of this, and he wonder what was going to happen now. He was thinking about what he did so far. Yuurei tried to recall all the customers that had came in here. He began to think about everything he sold, and that was when he began to count. He had sold a bunch of cakes. The list were: cherry, chocolate, banana, red velvet, pumpkin, carrot, peach, vanilla, strawberry, and half vanilla, half chocolate cake. Yeah he had sold ten cakes today, and he wonder if he would sell more today. Well he would just wait and see as he was alone here now. Edited by Jova, Nov 14 2012, 08:06 AM.

Ezekiel, still covered in flour, readied the new bowl of batter for the next upcoming cakes, "So what's next on the list, Mr. Baker sir?" He asked tiredly. The baker walked over to his assistant and plopped on the table a basket of what seemed to be kiwis. "Kiwi flavored cake" The baker stated happily. "Is that a real and official cake?" "No, it's an experiment I wanted to try" The baker couldn't hide his smile. Zeke looked about him, he saw many different cakes in glass cases, not ready to be put out on display in the front of the store yet; the way they are named and looked could send the taste buds active. But kiwi? "Isn't kiwi known for things other than cake?" Zeke asked while still adding the fruit to the batter. "Not the bird, the fruit" The baker went back to his magazine. "I know, but the fruit is known for being used in juices and such" Zeke turned the mixture several times. At this time, the baker ignored the assistant and just dwell into his reading, or picture viewing. Zeke sucked his teeth as he poured the mixture into a free pan. Not long before he entered the pan into the oven and pulled out the strawberry cake to be placed on a shelf. He wiped his brow. |

Yuurei was waiting behind the counter right now. He was bored, and he didn't know what to do. There was nobody coming in right now, and he just figured that it was enough customers for today. It was a lot of jewels that they had earned today. Yes ten cakes had been sold, but just those ten were enough to make so much money. That was good for business, and he was just hoping to be able to sell more than ten. Still that was enough, and he was about to call it a day, or at least take a break some sort. The light wizard had been standing all day, and he was glad that he was able to lean against something. He wasn't sure if he would be able to last any longer if he couldn't do this. If they told him that he was suppose to stand straight the whole time it would be over for him. Yuurei just sighed as he was thinking about what had happen so far. There were so many people in this place, and he kind of enjoyed it. The people he had spoken with were fun to speak to, and he enjoy his time. Now it was just a matter of when the owner of this store would arrive here. That was the reason why they were running the store right now. It was all because of the owner of the store who had went off to make another wedding cake for someone else. That was good to know, and it seemed like his friend had made one of his own. They had enough for two wedding cakes, and his friend had did one. Now they were just going to wait for whoever order that cake to come get it. That would end up being eleven cakes he would sell. That was perfect, and he just smile when he thought about that. That meant he just needed to be patient, and good things would come his way. Yuurei just looked at the door as he was waiting for the magical person to come by. That was exactly what he was waiting for; then he would be able to make more money for the shop, and then see what the two in the back were doing. They seemed a bit quiet, and he barely heard any noise from the two. Yuurei was just humming his music as he could hear a car from outside coming to a stop. He wonder what was happening, and he looked towards the outside from the cashier register. He was wondering if it was someone for the store, and it surely was. There was a tall muscular man who came in. He smile at the man as it seemed like he was the one who was looking to get marry. He wonder who would be the woman to marry this guy, and he wonder if she was some ugly lady, or some beautiful woman. That was when the guy moved over towards Yuurei. "Hi there how can I help you today?" the light wizard asked him wondering what he was going to say. "I'm hear for the wedding cake. It was suppose to be done, and I had to run some other things, so I am up coming late. So is it done?" he asked the light wizard. Yuurei smile because he was right on what he was thinking. This man was here for what he that one thing. Yuurei just looked at him without a problem, and pointing at the wedding cake. "If you're looking for the wedding cake, then its right there. You don't have to worry about it. We took care of your cake, and made sure it came out perfect. How about you go take a look, and tell me what you think of it," he told the man. He looked over to where the cake was, and headed towards it. The light wizard hope that was good enough for this guy. The man began to look at the cake as he was just examining it and making sure everything was just right. That was when he looked at the cake, and then towards Yuurei. "This is perfect. I cannot believe you guys got this done for us quickly. I will pay for it, and take it out myself, so there is no need to worry," the man said as he headed back to Yuurei. The man handed all the money he could to Yuurei. The light wizard smile as he allow the man to take the cake out of the store. That was good, and now it was time to just let time run out for them. Yuurei was surprised that they were able to do this. It was a normal job indeed, but this was a hard one. It was stressful, and it was probably a dirty job. They had to make so many types of cakes that it was probably not an easy task. The light wizard could just imagine what Ezekiel had been going through. |

Ezekiel sneezed into his handkerchief. Today was indeed becoming a long day. Head to toe, he was covered flour, bits of batter, chocolate stains here and their along with other colorful patches. If it wasn't for the fact that he had adjusted to all the different smells of cakes within in the kitchen, he would have to guess that he must have smelled like a bakery, which indeed he spent his day in. "What is next on the list?" Zeke gave up on formalities with this client; he cared not what the old man thought about it, he only cared about continuing and finish the cake list. "Twelve vanilla cupcakes" A silver pan with twelve indents slid down the table, the baker didn't seem to have moved. Ezekiel shrugged and just mixed the batter. He poured the mixture into each indent. It was pretty much the same way, only that the little holes will cause the cupcakes to be baked upright. The barrier wizard slid the stray into the oven whilst pulling out the kiwi cake which smelled a bit odd. This would most likely fail as a cake, hopefully it doesn't come out of his pay. After placing green frosting ontop of the cake; noting that it was kiwi; Zeke placed the cake on the shelve along side other cakes. "Let's hope that sells" The baker didn't look up from his magazine. "And if it doesn't?" Zeke patted himself. "Then I'll find you" The baker's eyes looked as if he was serious as he looked up. But after two seconds, he burst out into a laugh. |

Yuurei was just standing behind the counter. He was just standing there looking around. He was waiting for things to happen, but he figured that nobody was going to come anymore. He just chuckled because he had done a lot today. There was a little bit he could do, but just stand there, and wait for someone to come in. He did however know that he had done a lot in this job right now. They were just doing their job, and he had to be honest. This was a freaking hard job, and he couldn't believe how people did this. The light wizard just figured that he would be able to do this because of the job request. This was actually a tough assignment, and he just got out from behind the cashier register. He just moved around the area as he was thinking about how the customers were not able to get the things that they wanted. They had been looking through the area, and trying to find the cake they wanted, but it seemed like some of them weren't able to get it. He wanted to see the reason why they weren't able to. Yuurei looked at the display and noticed that it was hard to see what the things on the cake said. There were also other cakes that were being blocked by the other ones. It seemed like quite a mess, but he figured it was how they ran the store. He wasn't complaining about it, and he just knew that it was hard for those who came here the first time to find out what they wanted. He just sighed as he knew that the loyal customers were the ones who knew how to work the cakes out. The light wizard wasn't going to say anything to the owner of this store because he knew that the man was doing his own thing. They were making money their own way, and if they were a known store than he was going to keep it like that. He just moved towards the cashier register, and figure that he was done for the day. He had sold a bunch of cakes today, and he was proud of his work. He was good behind the register, and it was why he wanted it. Yuurei was able to meet a lot of people, and he was also able talk to people. He like the fact that he was able to help those who needed it. The light wizard knew it was for the best, and he gained experience for it as well. Then there was also the fact that he was able to help people choose what they wanted. That was something he never thought he would be able to do before. Yuurei just smile because this was something he would carry with him for awhile as he smile at himself. He was able to sell a total of eleven cakes. That was a lot of cakes, and even if that was the number, the price they were sold for was large. He had sold a cherry, chocolate, banana, red velvet, pumpkin, carrot, vanilla, peach, strawberry, half chocolate and half vanilla, and the last one was a wedding cake. He had done this really well, and he was figuring that he would go to the back, and see how Ezekiel was doing. It was only fair that he would go check up on his friend right now. Yuurei decided to go, and if he heard the door he would just move to the front again to see who it was. He had made his way through the back room, and he noticed that the two were just doing their own thing. He chuckled to see that his friend was doing this work, and he wonder how was he when it came to making cakes. It seemed like he was able to make a wedding cake, but of course he had help with it. That was cool, and all but now he would be able to make some cake for the both of them. "So what's you two. It seems like you have been busy all day. How many cakes did you guys make anyways?" he asked the two of them wondering which one would answer his question. He hope the boss came back to the store because he wanted to leave already. They had been here quite a while, and it wasn't the funnest thing to do but it was interesting to him. |

"So what's the count on the list?" Zeke cared not for the formalities, he was tired and a bit irritable. He wiped his hands on a piece of cloth the had had found on a a nearby sink. "You've done eight cakes and a dozen cupcakes which I'm going to count as one whole cake-" The Baker calculated. "I used a bit more batter for the cupcakes than a regular cake; I think they should count as two" Zeke interrupted. "Don't get smart with me boy, it's my bakery, my rules" The baker stood up with an intimidating posture. Doesn't matter how you look or present yourself, if you are a baker and work with sugary pastries, there is no true intimidation, well that is what Zeke mentally quoted from a book. "Your last one shall be a cranberry cake" The baker slid a container of cranberries down the table in which Zeke caught it. Yuurei walked in, and to Zeke's surprise, he was actually glad to see him, "everything is fine, we've done about eight cakes; banana, chocolate, that wedding cake I put up front, etc, along with 12 cupcakes in that oven right there" Zeke said as he mixed the cranberries with the last bit of batter, "We should be done after this last cake is baked" Zeke hoped as he poured the mixture into a pan and plopped it into the oven. "Give the cupcakes more time" The baker said, seeing Zeke hesitate from pulling them out. |

Yuurei was wondering what his friend was going to say to him. There was not a lot of things he was able to do here. He just needed something to do, and it seemed like his friend was surprised to see him. The light wizard chuckle when he saw his face, and just wonder what he was going to say to him. It seemed like he was okay with what was going on here, and he was happy to know that. He was the reason to why Ezekiel was in the back, and baking cakes instead of working in the front. Still they had baked a bunch of cakes. That was cool to know, and it seemed like he had made twelve cupcakes as well. That was good to know that he was able to do work around here. There was even that wedding cake. That was good to know, and he forgot to mention that he sold the wedding cake. He chuckled because he figured that he would tell them now about the situation. They had gotten rid of that cake because the person who had order it had came to retrieve it. The light wizard saw that he was making another cake right now. It seemed like his work was not done yet, and that was good to know. It seemed like he was making the last cake right now. It was good to see that he was able to learn quickly, and to be honest he knew that Ezekiel was a fast learner. His friend knew how to do things just by reading the book, and making sure he understood it. That was how Yuurei saw it when his friend was always reading. Yuurei noticed that his friend was doing his thing, and the man had told him not to take the cupcakes out right now. He chuckled as he just yawned a bit from all the work he had done today. It seemed like the two of them were kept occupied this whole time. He just moved his arm as he was going to tell the two. "So guys the wedding cake was sold like a few minutes ago," he paused for a bit as he smile at the two of them who had made the cake. "The guy who order it had finally came to pick it up. He seemed like he was in love with the cake. He talk about how it was perfect, and just the way he and his wife wanted it. I guess you guys make a great team, and Ezekiel I'm guessing you should start baking cakes man," he said as he was laughing to what he said to his friend. It was a joke, but he knew that they were able to do anything they set their mind to. The both of them were pretty smart. When he said that the door open from the store. Yuurei looked behind him as he was ready to go to the front to see who it was. "You don't need to get that. I know that entrance anywhere. Its the owner of the store. He's probably putting the close sign as we speak," the man who was working with Ezekiel said. Yuurei stopped on his tracks, and just looked at the man as he was glad he didn't have to do anymore work. Instead he just waited for the owner to come. The man came to the back as he had locked the entrance to the door, so nobody would come in. He made it to the back, and saw the people that were here. It seemed like his friend didn't have to work by himself, and had company over. That was good because it meant that these were the wizards who took over his store for the door. It seemed like they had done well, and he could see that a lot of their things were gone, which meant they sold the stuff. "I see so I was right in leaving this job to wizards. What guild you guys from, and here's your reward," he said as he took out the bag, and threw one to Ezekiel, and the other to Yuurei. The light wizard caught his and chuckled at the man. "We're from Fairy Tail, and I must say we had a lot of fun here. I mean I know I did. It was great working here," he said as he looked at his friend wondering what he was going to say to the man. |

Hearing that the owner of the store was present was surprising to Zeke. Meeting the big boss was true intimidation, but in the end, it was relief to hear that the store was closing up. The entire day was of nothing but baking. Zeke didn't laugh when hearing Yuurei's joke. The pastries smelled wonderful, but baking them as a profession was tiring and wasn't that much of an interest to the barrier wizard. Zeke had pulled out the cranberry cake just as the owner walked in. The barrier wizard managed to catch the bag just as he set down the cake on the table. After pocketing his earnings, Zeke proceeded to place the frosting. As usual, Yuurei spoke with the client and spoke the name of Fairy Tail, giving the guild kudo points for what was done. Zeke couldn't help but smile as he shelved the last cake. He looked down upon himself seeing that he was a mess, "I'll clean up when I get home" He sighed. It wasn't much to him; after going through that week of training with Yuurei, he figured he would never get that dirty again. "It was a pleasure working with you, wizards" The baker smiled brightly. "Likewise, sir" Zeke gave a bit of a bow to the baker and to the owner before quickly walking out. The fresh air of the evening was welcoming. Zeke stretched and yawned big. This was freedom and soon enough, he'll be home in bed and reading a favored book. He didn't know if Yuurei was finished with his business, but he figured he would wait, he owed his friend that much. |

Yuurei was relaxed right now. He was done with his job, and now they were able to be on their way. He just looked at Ezekiel who seemed like he was ready to leave. The light wizard just looked at his friend as he was finishing up the cake. That was good to know that even though he had gotten paid he was still finishing up his work. He just yawned again, and knew that he was a bit tired. The two were going to have to go back to their place, and rest. It was the best thing they could do right now. The light wizard just noticed that his friend left, and he followed behind him. The door was open from the inside only. He took one good look at the store again. This place was something he was going to miss. He wasn't sure why, but it was enjoyable to work in this place. The people he met were people he wished he could see again. Still he knew that he was probably never going to see them again. He just sighed and looked towards the door, and moved towards it without hesitation. Yuurei already knew that his friend wasn't inside here. The man was already outside from how fast he left the place. He open the door, and noticed his friend was yawning and waiting for him. That was good because they had a good trip ahead of them. He knew that they had one more job request to do. It was the only way they would be able to go back to the guild. He wasn't going to go back without finishing this last thing. It was when his friend would go back to the guild with him. He was planning on making him become a C rank wizard. It would be good for him, and he would be able to do better jobs. They would be able to get more money from doing these things as well. Yuurei knew that his friend wouldn't mind it, and he was only convincing him to do this because he didn't want to become one. To be honest he was just trying to be laid back, and just go with the flow. He had stepped out, and close the door behind him as he walked next to his friend. "Well we go back to the Inn today. After that we will head towards the our next job request. I think its back in Magnolia, but I'm not sure. We will see by tomorrow. Right now we head home for the time being," he said with a smile on his face. Yuurei just began to walk towards the exit of this city. They were staying in a different area right now. It would take them awhile to get back to Magnolia if they were just walking towards that place right now. He hope his friend was okay with all the things that they did. Yuurei was honestly thinking about getting him stronger. It was a bit weird to put effort into someone else, but that was the point. He just continued moving as he knew that Ezekiel would be right behind him. There was noway the man would just daydream while he was next to him, and speaking to him. He wonder what kind of cake that owner had made at the same time. He was out the whole time. The light wizard actually wonder if the man was even baking a cake. He was probably having the day off, and doing whatever he wanted. Yuurei wouldn't be surprised if he took the day off to do whatever he wanted. That guy seemed like he needed a break anyways, and they had gotten pay for it anyways. |

Ezekiel looked up at the sky. He enjoyed watching dusk both in the evening and the morning. The dull colors, mainly orange, filled the sky. It was quiet out and breezy. Freedom was bliss. Yuurei arrived and announced their schedule for tomorrow. Another job ready for them. It seems the light wizard was highly determined to 'rank up'. He had the skills, magic, strength, and determination to become someone indeed powerful. A smart choice would be to be by this man's side. "Aye aye, captain" Zeke joked as he walked on by Yuurei's side. Strength or not, Zeke figured he would still have attended this man's company. Was this what most theoretical papers call friendship? Either way, the two walked on towards the bridge which could be seen in the distance. The jobs seem to be easy enough even though they had their own difficulty to them, but in the end, they were completed with not much trouble. Zeke wondered how long it will be before the two of them would take up a job that would end up being more trouble than it should. There were stories of high ranking mages and wizards taking up jobs that could save cities and nations from evil forces. Zeke didn't mind doing low ranking jobs, they were calming and safe. But then again, a part of him wanted to accept a job that a true mage would never fear, a job that was considered a quest. "Let's see what tomorrow brings" Ezekiel said out loud before giving a big yawn. |
