D Rank Mission There had been a lot of things happening in their travels. The two had just finished their first two missions. Yuurei had take his friend through these missions, and so far they had completed them both. The first one was kind of stressful, and too much heat to be around in. Still they had made it through, and completed their job without a problem. Their client seemed to be happy, and they went off to do their next thing. It was quite fun to learn some new techniques on the job, and he would hope there was more to come. Of course the two had gotten towards the next mission, and that was quite accelerating if he might say. They had practice how to roll each other in a barrel, and gain tolerance to be in such a thing. Well he did at least, but he knew for Ezekiel it wasn't like that. His friend was seen vomiting his life out. It was quite funny when he had saw that, but he had to keep running because of a crazy situation at hand. It seemed like people were trying to get in their way in that mission, which he didn't like. Now they were just walking towards their third client. It was towards Coreopsis. This place wasn't that far from Magnolia, but they weren't going to return to their home right away. After this mission they would probably head towards a mission in that part. It would be a good way to end their journey, and get Ezekiel the rank up he needed. His friend knew that taking him through all of this was getting him stronger quickly. Of course it was needed to be done because off those bastards who were stalking them. It seemed like that organization wasn't giving up as Ezekiel had told him about a girl who sought him out in their last town. Yuurei couldn't believe it to be honest, but he felt like it was viable, and just believed it. Well for now he wasn't going to cry, or complain about it because they were heading towards their next mission. He was walking up a hill as they had left a nearby Inn. He had his backpack, and just made his way through the road, and continued to walk. He just smiled at Ezekiel because he knew his friend would be able to hand this walking from the training they went through. The light wizard was just humming a bit of his music as he walked. His humming stopped because he wanted to converse with his friend. What was he going to do when he returned to Magnolia. He would probably have requirement needed to become a stronger wizard. A wizard who would be able to do high ranking missions is something Yuurei needed. He wasn't able to do C rank missions unless he had someone qualified to do them with him. He knew that was going to be Ezekiel pretty soon. "So Ezekiel when we get back to the guild, are you going to request for a rank up? If you don't know what that is I can explain it to you," the light wizard said with a smile on his face as he continued to walk. He looked over to his side, and noticed the grass moving along the road because of the wind that was blowing towards them. It felt good to feel this air hitting him, but it was just messing up his hair. He was glad that he didn't have long hair like that, or else it would be ruined. It was really early as the sun was rising. They had to make it to the city before nine in the morning. That was when they started working their butt off. It was basically a regulars day of work. He didn't want to do it, but it was too hard not to refuse an offer like that. They were going to learn how to make cakes, well Ezekiel was. He was going to work with the money. Ezekiel had started his morning peacefully. He woke up, showered while his tea was on the stove being prepared, after dressing, he sat and read the newspaper while enjoying his cup of tea. He knew today was going to be another day with Yuurei; he had asked him to pick something simple this time, something that surely had a low possibility of them having required to fight. Helping at a cake shop, that seemed all to well simple and enjoyable. Zeke enjoyed pastries and figured a small retail job such as that wouldn't have much to worry about. Now the two wizards walked along side one another, down a road parallel to a vast plain of grass that moved along with the wind, it was wonderful, both the view and the breeze. He had not heard much of Coreopsis, but he didn't figure it would be trouble, it was a city, not a graveyard. Events recent had led Zeke to believe that he and/or Yuurei had the bad luck of attracting trouble; he wanted nothing to deal with any of that today, this was his break from the excitement, from the chaos of battle and near-death, a warrior or knight might enjoy the thrill of battle, but he was a wizard after all, he was a thinker. "I'm not entirely sure what a 'Rank up' is, Yuurei" By the way it sounded, it could possibly be a way for Zeke to move on up in the guild, maybe given better luxury, possibly presented benefits such as insurance and such, "What do I have to do? Pass a test? Contribute to the guild's vast knowledge on magic?" |

Yuurei was walking with his friend. He had asked him about becoming a higher ranking wizard. He didn't know about it, and that was understandable, and he just smiled at his friend as he was trying to think about the best way to explain it to him. He just put his right hand on his left shoulder, and began to tap it as the two continue their walk towards the city. He had figured that his friend would try to guess what he would to do to qualify a new rank of wizards. It was just allowing a person to go on better missions. The better you were the better the jobs were. If that was the case then you would get more money from these better jobs. The light wizard knew about that all too well, and it was why he wanted things to get moving. Yuurei knew pulling his friends to becoming a strong wizard wouldn't be easy. Still he really didn't mind in having to have this guy shine while he stood in the shadows. He knew his powers were too strong, and his talents were making him this way as well. Yuurei could just process the thought in his head as to what he was going to do if he ever met the dragon he was looking for. He had known a lot of the things that happen between the dragon, and their apprentice. That was all because of Relyk, and it seemed like his friend was preparing him for it. That was good because he knew that he would be ready when the time came. The light wizard just looked at Ezekiel who began to ask questions on what he would have to do to get to the next rank. The man with the green bandana laughed at the situation, and what his friend had said. He didn't have to do anything like that. He just needed to show his proof of all the jobs that he did. He would also need someone to vouch for him from those jobs, to show that he did his best in them. Still it was just funny to hear the word test coming from him when it was about these rank up. He only knew about one test, and it was for the highest ranking wizard in any guild. Yuurei stopped his laughter, and calm down. He looked over to Ezekiel as it was time to explain things. "Well lets see in a guild there are five ranks of a wizard, not including the guild master. Each ranking needs a certain amount of jobs to be done before you could be recognized to become another rank. You also need to show that you have the strength of becoming a higher ranking wizard. You basically need to complete four of each ranking jobs to move on to the next one," he paused for a bit. "Still keep in mind that you will need to be strong enough to make the upper jobs hand able. If you aren't strong enough then there's no point in becoming a higher ranking wizard. There are D rank, which we are. Then C, B, A, and then S rank wizards. There is a test, but its for those who want to become an S rank wizard. Those who become those wizards get to do the hardest jobs you can imagine. The ones that no normal wizards could ever take on," he said with a smile on his face. "For now you're aiming to become a C rank wizard. It shouldn't be hard for you. I know its possible for you my friend," he said with a smile on his face. Yuurei was able to become one as well, but he chose not to. Only one of them needed to become one, and then they both could do those jobs. That was going to be fun, and the two just continued to make their way through the road, and towards Coreopsis. |

Ezekiel yawned into his hand, trying not to be rude to his friend, however it seemed Yuurei was too busy laughing which was a normal thing and a calming one at that. He placed his hand on Zeke's shoulder as he spoke with him, explaining the details when it came to ranking within the guild. The system seemed simple enough to understand and easy enough to scale, at least at the beginning. The thoughts of progressing through the ranks of Fairy Tail swam in his mind. He had heard only stories of S rank wizards in guilds and how they breeze through jobs, even those expected to take a century to complete. Three silhouettes appeared in his thoughts, the middle with long hair, the one to the right seemed bulky and the one to the left seemed the shorter and thinner than the other two. He had written but a bit of a story that filled his mind in recent weeks. The stories told to him concerning the legendary S rank wizards gave him the motivation needed for such a piece of work. "Gin, Zetsu, and..... hmm, I need a third name". It had taken him a moment to realize he had falling into thought about his story, "Sorry, Yuurei, I dwell into my zone; I did hear what you said and I have to say it does sound exciting" Zeke looked ahead and noticed in the distance the clustered rooftops of a civilization, "What exactly will we be doing, may I ask?" As usual, Zeke didn't actually read the full of the job, merely following Yuurei along whenever he said "We have a new job". Wolves, gorillas, baboons, evil wizards, golems, extra work that's not needed... they were all dangerous and tiresome things to deal with, but in the end of it all, Zeke chose to follow Yuurei, why? Mainly because he was training him to become better and because he actually took a liking to the light wizard as a friend. "With my friend, to hell and back, for my friend" he quoted a storybook ninja. |

Yuurei had continued his march through the road. He was letting his friend take the time to process what he had to him before. It was good to know how to answer him, and that was good. Things were going to be tough, but he knew that his friend would be able to handle it without a problem. Well not without a problem, but he knew that he would be able to overcome a lot of things. He was going to be there of course, so there was no need for him to worry about. He was basically his guardian. Soon people wouldn't think like that, but it was how it was going to be. Yuurei didn't mind that thought, and he smiled as the two made their way towards the city. After awhile he noticed that Ezekiel was thinking about something else besides listening to what he had said to him. The light wizard hope that he wasn't going to have to repeat himself all over again. That would have been a really big headache, and he wasn't in the mood for that. They had a job to do, and even though it was simple it would take them forever. Yuurei could hear him speaking soon. He heard the name Gin, Zetsu, and it seemed like he was missing a third name. He chuckled as he was thinking about using his name. Still he was going to let him finish. The light wizard did hope that he was able to figure out what he said. Yuurei did sighed because the man did hear what he say. That was good because it meant that he didn't need to repeat himself, and it seemed like he was excited for what would come their way. That was good because he didn't want to force Ezekiel into this. Yuurei looked over to his friend as he was asked what kind of mission they would be doing. That was a good question, and it was time to reveal to his friend. He should know what kind of mess they were going to get themselves into. He just hope that his friend was okay with it because it was kind of two easy to do. Well not really, but it was actually a normal thing to do. They still needed skills, and he hope he was up for the challenge. "Well our mission is actually to run a bakery shop. They only sale cakes there, so one of would have to work on baking the cake. There is going to be an assistant helping us with that. That will actually be your job my friend, so good luck on learning how to make cakes for us to sell," he said as he laughed at Ezekiel. He was giving his friend the hard part because he was good with numbers. Working at the cashier wasn't a problem for him at all. "I will be selling the cakes you bake, and getting the cash. We basically got to do this all day till its time for closing. So be prepare to get dirty I guess," he said as he continued walking. He had whistle for a bit, but that came to a quick stop. He looked at Ezekiel real quick. "That third name. Why wont you use my name for your story. I think it fits perfectly in there," he said as he smiled at his friend. He wasn't trying to be cocky, but he felt like his name would really work with that group. |

One could tell the time of day when the only source of noise were the birds chirping passionately. Zeke enjoyed listening to such music rather than the hustle and bustle of the city, but after a week within the forest, the city didn't seem so bad. It felt more like a haven when returning from Yuurei's own personal hell in which he enjoyed taking his trainees to. After peeking at a small hill, Zeke's eyes opened wide. In the distance, he could see Coreopsis, an island within what seems to be a large lake. After taking a better look, seeing there were not much trees to block his view, the area in which Coreopsis was floating upon was more like a cluster of lakes, "How in the world are we going to get there? Surely there is a bridge... right?" He asked Yuurei while still staring awed by the sight. It was still in distance, he couldn't make out how the structures of the buildings and houses were, whether they were old or new, nor the architecture. Whatever information he had received involving such a city, it should be buried and forgotten or merely updated. Zeke was not informed that such a city was upon the surface of water. Looking once again, the beauty couldn't be more vast. The reflection from the early morning sun shown within the water, gleaming wonderfully. Surely this morning as a gift for both of them... or merely an omen, maybe this was the only source of peace Zeke was going to be receiving today. It is possibly this simple job might turn out to be a nightmare like the last, or maybe the two wizards might end up being attacked by the same 'guild'. Whatever happens, he prayed to the Light he survived. |

Yuurei was walking through the area. It seemed like they were getting closer to their destination. That was good because he was tired of all this walking, and he just wanted to get to the city. It wasn't his fault that they had to go through all of this. He shook his head because it was actually his fault, and he just sighed as he continued to move forward. He knew the city wouldn't be faraway from them, so all he had to do was continue on walking with his partner to their destination. The light wizard could imagine what he was friend would say about the fact that he would have to bake a cake. It would be funny to see his reaction, but of course he didn't get anything like that. It seemed like his friend ignored what he said, or he was okay with the job that they were doing. He sighed as he figured that was okay, and just continued to walk through the area of the wild. They weren't at the city, but he noticed that they were coming into view of Coreopsis. Their next mission was over there. Yuurei just chuckled when he saw this He could only wonder now how his friend would think about the scene of this place. It was a nice place as it was floating in water right now. That was all thanks to the work of magic. He could wonder just where this place would be if magic wasn't supporting it. Still he just looked at his friend, and he could see just how amazed he was looking at the place. He could tell this was the first time he had ever been here in his whole life. That was cool because he would be able to explore more, and see new things. He had nothing to worry about. The light wizard just continued to walk as he could hear Ezekiel speak about city. It seemed like he was wondering how they were going to get to the city. He chuckled because they had came from the outskirts of the city, and not on a train or even a boat. He asked if there was a bridge around here, and he smiled because he was correct on that. "We can take a boat to get to the city, or we can just take the only bridge that is linked to the city. We will be taking the bridge of course. Don't worry just keep looking at the city. When your done you can wipe the drool off your mouth, and come along to the mission," he said as he was making his way to the direction of the bridge. Yuurei was letting his friend enjoy the scenery as he had saw it plenty of times before. He was actually running away from here one time before. It was a funny task, but it was happening to him. Still he was glad that he was able to fix the situation, and return things to normal. The light wizard was just approaching the bridge now as he nodded at the guards that were there. He show them that he was a Fairy Tail wizard, so they could let him go by, and he continued to move forward. He put his glove back on and sighed as hope that Ezekiel would do the same thing. It shouldn't take them that long to get to the cake shop. They would be able to start their jobs when they got there. He hope that Ezekiel would be able to do everything to make some good cakes. They needed to sell those things to the people who were coming in here. He hope for the best, and sighed because he felt like this mission would be hard for them. |

As the two walked, Yuurei replied there were boats that can be taken, but he preferred... no... he already decided they were going to take the bridge. Zeke gave his friend an odd look. True the light wizard was stronger, a higher rank, first to become a Fairy Tail guild member, his trainer, the one who had gotten the job post, the one who knew how to get to the floating city... Ezekiel forgot where his point had went. They've reached the bridge where two guards stood equipped with halberds, a weapon Zeke highly fancied. Yuurei removed his glove to present his guild symbol to the guards before passing by them. Zeke figured he should do the same. He pulled down the shirt collar to reveal his blue Fairy Tail symbol that was stamped on his neck before walking by the guards. He felt powerful, revealing his symbol like it was a mark of a noble. The bridge was impressive. Looking ahead, the structure was made to run straight to the city, no curves, no detours, it's main focus was Coreopsis. "So you want your name to be placed in the group? Well you surely are big headed; i'll think on it" Yuurei was too full of himself, the name didn't even sound epic or Heroic. It sounded like a pirate's name rather than anything else. The two neared the city when Zeke realized - "I know nothing on baking! How am I suppose to prepare the cakes!?" Yuurei decides to distribute the tougher job to Zeke while he kept the easier, "The payment better be fancy if I have to make cakes upon cakes all day" He was sore now. All Zeke wanted to do now was just get to the city, meet the client and be on with the job. If there was any time before the job started, then he had his chance to study up on baking before hand. It shouldn't be that hard. |

Yuurei was walking through the bridge, and his friend had caught up with him. That was good because it seemed like he watched him on what he did to enter the bridge. That would be fun to arrive at the cake shop. They were going to have a lot to do there, and he knew there was no point in wasting time. As the two walked through the bridge he just wanted to get to the shop. He wasn't a big fan of doing normal jobs like this even if it was quite difficult. He just hope that his friend was skilled at things like this. As they moved onward, he heard his friend bring up the story he was talking about earlier. He chuckled because he thought he was going to ignore him on that. It was funny that he still remember to bring it up. That was good because he felt like he did listen to him on everything he had said. Yuurei wonder what else he was thinking about if he did listen to everything he did say. Still he had called him big headed, and he began to chuckled. It wasn't like that at all, but he wouldn't mind being put in a book. As they were making it closer to the city, the man decided to bring something up. It was about him not knowing anything about baking. The light wizard chuckled when he heard that because that was probably why they had an assistant. He was guessing that the person would be helping him on the baking of the cake. He just couldn't do everything on his, or her own. That was understandable in his eyes, and he looked at his friend. He just better suck it up because it would work out in the end for them. The light wizard did take the easy job, but it was because he wasn't good at that. He would surely fail if he was the one baking. Yuurei knew this better than anybody, and he knew that he couldn't cook. He chuckled nervously from what he said though, and knew that wasn't good. He just looked at Ezekiel as he heard him talk about the payment of the mission. That was too funny, a job was a job, and if they took that was their own fault. Still he was taking the punishment because of Yuurei. The two had finally made it across the bridge. It didn't take them long to do that, but there was something they needed to do now. It was get tot he cake shop. He knew exactly where it was, and he began to move in the direction where it would be located. He knew that his friend would be right next to him as he made his way towards the place. It should be open right now, or at least preparing to open for the long day that would be coming today. He could see that there weren't too many people out right now. That was because it was a little bit too early right now. The light wizard had made his way towards the shop, and knocked on the door, but didn't give any time for anybody to respond. Yuurei enter the shop, and smiled. There was nobody in the front right now, and he decided to make his appearance known. "We're here for the job request today. We would like to get started quickly. I'm sure my friend would need to learn some stuff before he starts baking," he said out loud wondering who would come to the pair. |

The two friends walked on and entered the floating city. Ezekiel wanted to feel the movement from the floor, which was surprisingly stone in some areas while wood in other. As if standing on a boat, he expected to rock even in the slightest, but he felt nothing as if the city wasn't floating, but merely had water around it in large ditches. The magic that kept this city afloat caused Zeke to think about the different magics that could be considered powerful enough. Theories swam in his mind. They reached the shop which was of course in the shopping district. Quiet in the morning as most shopping districts were in cities. The shop looked closed which wasn't a surprised. Yuurei knocked on it right before walking right inside, calling out for the client and noting that Zeke had no experience. Zeke in his moment of surprised, tapped Yuurei on his arm while giving him a look of surprise. "Ah, good morning, good morning" An old man walked in from the back area of the store. he was a bit hunched over with large glasses. "You wipper-snappers are always in such a hurry.... good, you will need that in order to work here and which one of you need the know-how?" He walked up and faced the two wizards. [color=blue"That would be me sir"[/color] Zeke raised his hand, "If you gave me a cook book, then I believe I would do just fine". The old man raised an eyebrow and stared at the lad. "Oh right, I am Ezekiel Belmonte of Fairy Tail" The young man lowered his collar to show his neck. The old man smiled before nodding. |
