Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Clear along with San, Kuilei and Suina were now headed towards the train station of Belladonna to catch their train to Oshibana. Kaelian was unfortunately no longer with them for his own personal reasons, but his absence was not going to hinder Clear's plans in the slightest. Sure, they lost a valuable member of their team along with a lot of fighting power, but they also eliminated the risk of Kaelian doing something stupid and blowing their cover. Although their group was still one that attracted most of the world's attention to them. True to that fact, as Clear finally managed to lead them out of the extremely complicated alleys Jerred had led him into, the people in the street were giving them the usual questioning look. Added to that was the fact that they were now running to their destination contrary to their relaxed attitude up to that point. But right now time was pressing them and they had to get to Oshibana as soon as possible. If they gained even a couple of minutes by catching a train that left a little earlier, that was a plus for them. Clear looked around them constantly but there was no sign of anyone coming after them. Strange.

Perhaps Jerred was late in informing the knights, perhaps he was going to set up a trap for them later. The possible scenarios were many but the facts remained that the group got to the train station safely. Clear stopped for a moment to catch his breath, panting as he walked towards the ticket booth. Getting his tickets for both himself and Suina, he was pleased to see that they were just in time for the next train. With some time before the train left, Clear thought he should talk with San. "All right, seems like we made it in time. We should discuss our goal more specifically. If what Jerred said was true then the person we are looking for was an acquaintance of my mother. If we go to my old house there should be clues left lying there. We will look around the house for anything that might hold the information we need. A note, a diary, some old book, clothes, whatever looks like it could contain valuable information is our target. We will turn the building upside down if we have to, we don't have to worry about the details. It's not like anyone remembers that house or cares about it." Clear told San calmly and quietly, anyone could be listening.

They had to be as discreet as possible this time around, danger might be lurking around every corner. The chances of them being attacked on the train were pretty low, getting civilians involved does not seem like something the person they were looking for would do. After all, he even went as far as hiring Jerred in the past to make sure nobody remembered River. If he didn't care about the lives of the people he could have just killed everyone she ever knew. Although that made Clear wonder, why him and not anyone else? Was there some significance behind the man asking Jerred to kill only Clear but not anyone else? That was certainly suspicious and Clear would make sure to find that out as well. But if they found nothing in Oshibana what next? Would they just give up? Going back to Belladonna to look for Jerred would be the equivalent of walking into a knights' barracks and asking to be taken into custody. No, they were done with Jerred, he got away and that was that. Clear hadn't forgiven him for his actions, that was a given, he was still going to punish him in the future, be he was of lesser importance for the time being.

"One cannot help but wonder; that man's departure was not to be expected, what with his spontaneous personality...but to think that he would vanish so fast, who would have thought? And on top of that, that I would miss it until Kuilei told me." San was musing on Kaelian's sudden departure, and was somehow reaching extremely unhappy conclusions. "Ah, so he must have gone off the deep end; but may we never meet again, Kaelian. I find the idea of becoming the adversary of one who leaves his guild a necessary evil." - Words like this and such, were what San was muttering en route to the train station; behind him, Kuilei was still turning his head around as they walked, looking for the man. The undead man was confused, the golem moreso, and saddened on top of that. "Wh-Where did he go?" he kept asking San; eventually, the old man got tired of the repeats, and told him bluntly: "No idea, Kuilei. Presume he is gone. Continue with the mission, consider him an obstacle if he reappears."

Frankly, the golem was disturbed by San's sudden coldness - or perhaps that was the way he dealt with people when they vanished? Either way, Clear's words snapped San back into the real world. "In that case, we will search, you and I, and I will place Kuilei in the back of the house, and one of my summons in the front, to guard - and yet, there is the feeling that your house is what is the trouble," San replied, his thoughts evident. "Why do we not do this? When we get there, I will first place Kuilei in the back, where he can hide and keep guard simultaneously. Next, permit me to send a summon into your house first; I will use one of my calmer, more careful summons, to prevent anything being disturbed within the house. The summon will briefly enter every corner of the house - that way, if there are any traps or hidden surprises, we will be aware of them, as he would have set them off in our place. When he has ascertained safety, we can search, you and I, and I will have one of my less conspicuous summons somewhere near the front of the house, so he may alert us if anyone else comes close," San explained, his plans devised; as always, his priority was the maintenance of the group.

The train came soon, and San boarded it only to find that their group would be the only passengers on the section they were in. "Well, what have we here - must not be a busy day for Oshibana-Belladonna transport, perhaps?" It could have just been coincidence, but the undead mage's guard was already up.

His nose twitched. He could tell. There was something that smelled nice.

<Food!> he perked as he pushed his head up beyond the large stack of crates. The cargo hold wasn't exactly the best place to stay in but he could understand very well their port condition at the moment. He licked his fangs as his tail wagged with eagerness before looking to the side where a redhead was sleeping, his master, Riven, was out cold and sleeping like a log on top of some hay from an open crate they ended up breaking when they snuck in. But the long trip they endured through the woods and catching the attention of some knights in Belladonna who mistaken them for the ones causing trouble and then running away for their safety ended up quite a chore, especially for someone who hasn't eaten for two days all ready.

Tyki, the large blue and white tiger neared his master's face and sniffed before licking the face softly and then making a small purring sound, though his voice would be mentally heard by the other he made sure not to startle him from his sleep. <I'll find us food. Just stay here.> But Riven only managed a soft groan as he rolled to the side, flipping the hood of his jacket over as he wanted more sleep and the light from the cargo hold was not being kind. At that, Tyki got much more eager because it somehow meant like an affirmation, a permission.

And so, the tiger jumped over the divider crates from where they hid. He did so with much grace and landed without much fuss nor shaking on the other side. He sniffed his way and knew that there weren't any humans around. He used that opportunity and glided between the crates, finding an easy path, but the source of the smell was not within the cargo hold. It was elsewhere, the aroma merely being carried off by the wind that entered through the holes and slits of the cargo. So, as cunningly as he could, he went for the door, lucky that it was a sliding type rather than having to turn the knob and push or pull. He was quite the knowledgeable tiger as Riven had thought him a few tricks so he raised a paw and swiped at the metal handle, sending the door sliding open with a bang.

He tensed at the thought that he might have alerted others of his presence. He looked back and heard no complaint from where Riven would still be sleeping at. No voice. No grumpy voice. He smiled with his fangs but then he caught sight of silhouettes of men walking to his way from the small window of the door to the coach in front of him. <Oh no! Gotta move> he said to himself as he quickly ran out and gave a powerful leap that ended him up on the coach's roof. And so, with the wind brushing against him, the train all ready having departed Belladonna's walls. He moved quite fast while allowing his nose to guide him, searching for where the smell could be coming from.

On a hard turn of the train, he almost fell off, slipping to the side so he had to dig his claws into the metal roof, making an awful screeching sound as he was pushed to the side by gravity but thankfully managed to hang on. <Riven will kill me if I get left behind!> And luckily for him, the train was making an awful chug-chug noise to begin with that his own mistake was easily drowned into the mechanical beatings of the train. But part of his body was already on the one side of the coach and as he tried to get back up, his lengthy tail could be seen swinging from side to side, at the very widow of where Clear, San and Kuilei would be.

San was being cautious, and he had every reason to be. The people they were dealing with were nothing to joke about, one wrong move on their part could easily mean prison or even death. "I guess that's a good way to go about it. Although I personally doubt there will be any traps there, it never hurts to be careful. We'll just have to wait until we get there to see what's going on."he said calmly and slouched back on his chair. Saying he was exhausted would be an understatement, his throat was still injured and he had gone through all that running. This was his chance to finally sit back and relax a little, they had plenty of time until their train reached Oshibana. He took his gourd off from his back and placed it on the seat next to him along with his two weapons. He closed his eyes and relaxed, trying to catch some sleep until they arrived. Suina took this opportunity to wander around a bit as she left the gourd and made her way to the window. She looked outside the train, admiring the scenery as it briefly passed them by only to be replaced by the next, and the next, a never-ending stream of pictures. Such was the nature of traveling at high speeds.

The ride was gong smoothly and Suina was having her own kind of fun, until she noticed an object of strange origin. There was a long straight item of black and blue color swinging left and right in front of the window. Suina tilted her head in confusion, she had never seen such a thing before. She waved at it playfully, ignorant to the fact that it was not a living thing and thus could not see her or interact with her. She thought that the item was funny and she giggled as she saw it moving in a strange manner, much like a swing in a playground. The sound was enough to get Clear's attention, he opened his eyes and glanced at Suina to see what was going on. It took a few seconds for him to register what it was that he saw before him, it was a tail. What manner of creature this tail belonged to, that he did not know. But it was something that piqued his curiosity and so he got up, moved next to the window and examined it. It was fairly long, this indicated that the creature it belonged to was also of adequate size. He opened the window and got his head out, looking up to identify the tail's origin. It was there that he was a blue tiger with black stripes hanging by the side of the train.

Such a thing did not happen every day. An animal like that appearing on a train was not something you would call normal. Clear had a bad feeling about that, whatever the reason this tiger was there for, it couldn't be a good one. "San, take a look at this. What do you think?" Clear asked while pointing at the tiger. San might know more about it, chances were he had seen something like this before, maybe not. The point was, that tiger shouldn't be there. Clear was tempted to go outside and confront the creature himself, but such an action would warrant a lot of trouble for him with no actual gain. On the other hand, if the tiger went loose on the train it would undoubtedly cause a panic and that was not something Clear could let happen. "We have to stop it! If the people catch sight of it there is even the possibility the train will stop for the safety of the passengers. That will delay us for no good reason. If it comes down to it, we should get rid of it ourselves before it causes a commotion!" Clear told San before getting up and preparing to head out himself. He felt a little sorry for the tiger, but it was its own bad luck for being at the wrong place.

San took a single look out the window, and immediately grunted in agreement. "I had a bad feeling something would happen; but to think they would do something as brash as sending a beast to assault us on a train? They are either very bad assassins, or delusional in grandeur." With that, he continued to stare at the swishing tail, considering their options. "Getting rid of it, huh." He sat there motionless for a few moments, before waving his hand in the air in a strange pattern. "But getting up there to remove it is impractical, as is dragging it down from here; and I do not think either of us or our assistants can help without attracting more attention. In that case - this situation is mine to handle. You do not mind, I hope?" As he spoke, he was already preparing the summon; nature-based as his magic was, the undead mage had no desire to try to tame some beast sent to kill them. For all he knew, the thing would already have been trained in doing so. "I will arrange to remove it as fast as possible; if we can simply knock it off the train for now, if the fall doesn't kill it, it should at least render it incapacitated for some time."

And so, San completed his summoning, and up on the roof of the train car they were in a mass of sprites would appear close to the tiger, before condensing into the form of a figure - a man of moderate height, with a sleek outfit and notably scarlet armor. The man looked around a bit, before catching sight of the tiger; once he did so, he immediately gave a wild cackle. "Oh man, Old Man San, you've really hit the jackpot with this one - a tiger, aha!" Standing there, the man laughed for a few moments, his voice uncontrolled and with a hint of insanity behind it; it was the disturbing kind of laugh, reminiscent of a psychopath's. And yet, while he was laughing, he dug the heel of his shoes into the roof of the train car best he could, and crouched down to make himself closer to the train and less noticeable at the same time. "Now, look here, you funny-colored beast; I'm not too much of a tiger person, and you don't know what I'm saying, but for now I have to apologize - sorry for taking you down!" His last words were said with a howl, and the man suddenly threw himself forwards at the tiger, arms open as if trying to embrace, but legs curled up in front of his body; correct, he was prepared to simply kick the tiger off of the train.

Meanwhile, down within the train car, San was very calmly discussing his intentions to Clear. "I am uncertain how exactly we will remove it, so for now I will send a summon to try and physically knock him off," he explained. "If that does not work, I have another summon of better physical force; if whatever is up there is countering with magic of some form, I have a summon that should be able to then force him off the train." He looked up slowly, though he saw nothing save the ceiling. "Worst case scenario, I have around six or so in my disposal, four of whom can fight decently; I absolutely cannot lose a war of attrition, if that is what the beast up there wishes for." Once again, he leaked a detail of his magic unintentionally. "My only worry is that one or two of my summons are a bit more...flamboyant than the others." He counted two out on his fingers. "The Ravager Wu is somewhat deranged, but not downright flashy - I have instructed him to try first, so he's the one up there. Worst case scenario, I will send Shan Hai..." His palm quickly came up to his forehead. But making Shan Hai act discreetly is impossible."

He could feel the fur on his back stand in fright at the thought of falling off and the possible consequences it would bring him, and the inconvenience it could render to his master. So Tyki swung a bit until his hindlegs could grab hold of the metal exterior of the coach. His claws dug deep enough to get a good hold as he pulled himself up with one quick heave, leaping slightly before landing at the very center of the top of the coach. There, he though he could breath easy, almost raising a paw to feign wiping some sweat over his head - something he had learned to copy from Riven and other of his idiosyncrasies - but instead, the tiger went to full alert as he saw beautiful colored sprites begin to gather before him and then suddenly form a human in red and with a rather noble air if not for his psychopathic speech and leer. Not that Tyki was in any way disturbed, rather annoyed.

The tiger had readied himself, lowering his front as limbs were spread as if the cat was about to hiss in contempt, but he was more than just a silly cat. He was a tiger. Riven's tiger. And for that, he had a reputation to uphold, or so as he thought he had. Then the man moved swiftly, quite fast as Tyki could comprehend, sending a kick right at him. But the tiger held his ground, swaying slightly to the side from the impact but not entirely hurt or pushed off the ledge, though he could tell that the other had some strength in him. <And here I was, trying to get food without causing trouble. I should have known better.> He thought and made a soft growl at the attempted attack of the other and swaying his paw in the air in a swipe-like motion as if to show that he was unharmed or undaunted by such acts.

But with such a quick foe, something must be done first. At that point, the stripes and his eyes glowed an eerie azure light as he brought down the raised paw and a magic circle was created. The light blue symbol covered the surface of the top of the coach with an area of 15-meter radius, and all of a sudden, a sudden vibration would ripple all throughout in the area. And seeing how he was conveniently on top of the coach, the effect would move both ways, upward and downward, fortunately encompassing Clear and company just beneath where Tyki and this unknown red attacker where standing. The vibration felt would somehow be smooth at first before it would gradually give the affected party a tingling sensation until his nerves would feel a slight disturbance, especially in perception and movement, as if unknown restraints were holding them back.

-----

Riven stirred in his sleep, waking one of his dull reddish brown eyes to look before him. He caught sight of the mound of hay he was lying on, yawned and then went back to sleep, cursing slightly about who had bothered to interrupt him with no real reason. Then again, it could also just be him. But he wanted more sleep and that was something he could not deny himself with.

-----

And Tyki roared as he lunged forward to deliver a powerful strike of his claws at the unknown man, making full use of the effect of the magic he had just casted. Truly, one would never thought a tiger like him could have such mysterious powers, but all the more did they grew dangerously useful ever since Riven had taken care of him and trained him for such use. Now was a time to see the new developments of such acts of his benefactor. Of course, he would also rely on his natural weight around 300 kg or so and see if the one swing could render the obstacle useless.

San's reaction to the tiger was somewhat exaggerated. Though Clear did agree with him, it was not a good idea for him to go up there and fight it on his own. "Somehow, I don't think that tiger's meant as an assassin after us. You seriously think they would send an animal, of all things, to kill us? It doesn't fit, but let's go with your plan." Clear said calmly as he sat down on his seat again. There seemed to be a fight going on above them, and Clear could feel a weird tingling sensation on his body. He tried moving his hand but it felt like something was disrupting him, his movements had grown slow. There didn't seem to be any other effect on him, so it was probably an after-effect from the battle. "This Ravager you sent up there, is this his doing? I can hardly move my hand at a normal speed, this is like how a kid would move." Clear stated about the weird effect. He got up, picked up Suina and moved away from their initial seats. After he moved to the far end of the carriage, away from where the tiger and summon where, he could feel his speed returning. Whatever that skill was, its area of effect was limited.

"Hey, hey, Clear, what was that thing from before? And what was that tingling feeling? It was fun." Suina asked curious. Clear sighed and looked at her with a serious face. "Listen closely, that thing was a tiger, a fierce animal. It is dangerous to approach one carelessly, it might attack you. And that tingling you ask of.... the next time something similar to this happens don't just stand idle. Even if it felt a little nice, something as unnatural as that should not be ignored. So just run away from things like that in the future, ok?" he explained. "Yes!" Suina answered cheerfully while raising a hand. With those explanations out of the way, Clear sat down on another chair and started thinking. If things went smoothly, San's summon would take care of that tiger and they would continue on their ride like nothing happened. On the other hand, should the man fail, San said he would replace him with another one. Clear couldn't help but wonder, where his summons really that expendable? He always seemed to treat them as nothing more than cannon fodder, were they not human? Or where they dead like him? Magic could be really weird at times.

The red-adorned man on the roof was obviously surprised by the Tiger's sudden display of ability. "What, now even the beasts know magic? Impressive!" He shouted, and when the Tiger charged forward the summon himself used magic - he actually also moved forward, hands outstretched in front of him, the claws that he wore in front. "Don't know about you, but I'm disposable!" he announced, cackling; the claws glowed a bright red, and it was evident that he had no desire to dodge. On the other hand, if the Tiger still chose to strike, he would have to also get hit by the one who just called himself disposable. The speed debuff was highly annoying to him, true, but simply moving his hands outwards was something even he had enough time to do, especially since they were already outstretched anyways.

Down in the train, San was patiently sitting, - or otherwise not so patiently. "An animal? Perhaps. Merely an animal, a wild beast, and on its own? I doubt it," San considered. "May be a beast and a trainer. Or multiple beasts. Perhaps a summoner. Possibilities are endless, and at the moment it is rather difficult for me to get feedback from my own summon," he said aloud, looking upwards - the strange vibrational feeling was disturbing, but since he wasn't doing anything faster than a snail's pace, he looked relatively unaffected. "If he doesn't hurry up, I will have to switch to the other one; here is to hoping that we can get this over with as fast as possible." Though he chose not to, Kuilei decided to move closer to where Clear did, as the slowing feeling was disturbing him; "Master San's been acting like a dead guy too long, I don't think he even realizes that everyone here is moving slower than normal," he confided, taking a seat - or at least, trying to take a seat - next to Clear.

Looking out the window, the golem noticed something detrimental to San's plans - "I might be mistaken, Master San, Clear, but- I think we might be getting close to our destination," he noted, pointing outwards; the train was beginning to pass by a suburban area. The moment he said so, the undead mage grunted in displeasure. "No choice, I will unsummon him now, then." With a flick of his fingers, the Tiger on the roof would notice the red-adorned man vanish; whether or not the two clashed prior to that, was something entirely determined by the Tiger's speed, though San did not know of the situation either way. If they had, the Summon would have sustained some injuries, and if not- well, the summon would vanish regardless.

Tyki roared as the other man grinned. They bough flew towards the other, hoping to snatch a whopping victory (if not literally whop the other out). However, something happened and the red garbed man disappeared just as soon as the tip of his clawed arm had touched Tyki's arm. It made a small cut but with the other disappearing so suddenly, Tyki couldn't care less. But now, the unsuspecting development was the area about them slowly reaching a suburban area. The tiger knew at once that he needed to get back else he'd draw more attention. So he turned and started for the back car. He surely didn't want to hear a long lecturing from Riven if ever it would be known that he had done something unwanted throughout the trip.

However, as he began to move, he had forgotten about his spell and since the end of the coach was affected, the revolving wheels began to slow that the coach shook violently. With the front part going at fast speed and the back going slow, it was only a matter of time before the coach would be forced to derail itself. As such Tyki could only think of one thing. He faced the front section and ran towards it before summoning enough power and pouncing by the edge. He directed a powerful waves towards the connecting chain and it snapped, breaking apart and the jittery shaking of the coach ended as well as its movement coming to a slow halt. Of course, at first he was smiling happily to have thought of a way to stop the coach from overturning, but then he realized that he did a more awful thing.

With teary eyes, he watched the train continue to run on its tracks up ahead and disappear towards the nearby town while the coach he was on and the rest behind them had come to a stop. <Stupid! Why did I break the coach's chain?!> he roared with disbelief and rolled on the roof for quite a good while, making weird metal denting noise that can be heard from inside. Of course, the rest of the group, Clear, San and the others would by then realized their coach had stopped just a few kilometers from the train station but what makes it more impossible was that their coach stopped along a suspension bridge just before it would enter the grassland again right before Oshibana territory.

And he finally woke.

Reddish brown eyes finally opened to look around him without that urge to close again. He grunted as he pushed himself to a sit, a stinging pain lingering along his neck. He slept in an uncomfortable position, that was for sure. But that was not why he had a fixed annoyed look. No. He could tell. He had a strange relationship with Tyki that ever since the tiger was young and he had been training him with magic, he could tell by feeling the faint residual aura of his magic if that tiger was up to no good. The first one was something subtle but now it was different. "He used Thuban." he said as he got up and jumped over the crates, walking towards the door up front, "He's totally grounded this time." And walked past the door and on to the next coach.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Clear didn't know which was true, their train was now getting closer to Oshibana. Clear had no idea what the outcome of the above battle was, but whatever the scenario was, the tiger would most likely go into hiding too since they would soon enter the town's limits. Unless it was actually a wild animal, in which case it would really not care about rules at all. But San was right, the possibility of a wild beast appearing on top of a train with no real reason was low. Its owner should be somewhere close to monitor it. Well, they were going to worry about that later, for now their priority was getting to Clear's old house. But it didn't look like things were going to go their way that easily. Clear could feel the wagon rattling and after some disturbance, it stopped moving. Clear immediately got up to investigate the reason, it might be anything from a trap to a simple train malfunction. Moving towards the door to one of the first carriages, he opened it to leave his current one. Yet what he saw before him was not the rest of the train but merely the tracks. The other carriages could be seen in the distance moving normally to Oshibana.

Upon closer inspection, the chain that normally connected the carriages to each other was severed, by means unknown at first glance. Clear ducked and closely inspected the chain, there was a... vertical line? Someone tampered with it, it was cut by unnatural means. Just when everything seemed to be going smoothly, something like this had to happen and stall them. Not only that, they were left stranded on a suspension bridge. That was completely and insanely dangerous, any wrong step outside could lead them to a nasty fall. Moreover, the town was still several kilometers away, even if they walked to it it was going to take them at least an hour. They could always wait for the train station to send someone to fetch them, they were obviously going to notice some of their wagons were missing. At that point, Clear considered a possibility. What if they were blamed for this? They were the only people on this carriage and there was only one more behind it, one that carried cargo. The tiger could easily get away and they would be left there looking like the only ones that could have done it. They needed to get out of there fast, just in case.

Clear moved back in the wagon and walked up to San. "I don't know why, but I've got a bad feeling about this. We should get out of this place before the authorities arrive. Chances are they're going to blame us for this. We're not exactly the most ordinary looking group, we've already established that as a fact before." he told him in a low voice, a little louder than whispering. It was about that time that the door to the last carriage opened and a man appeared, walking into their own. He was fairly tall and had red hair, he didn't look all that special or anything. But that was strange, wasn't the last carriage meant for transporting goods? Clear must have been misinformed. "Um, hello there. You're probably wondering why the train has stopped. There seemed to have been some damage to the chains connecting the carriages and we were left behind." Clear made an excuse about the situation that they were in, hoping that the man would buy it. "And what is this noise I've been hearing for the past minute?" Clear wondered while raising his head slightly towards the top of the wagon. Some weird metallic sound was coming from it.
