"Of course I wasn't hiding it, what do you take me for? Anyway, can you tell San that-" Clear was talking to San's summon when it burst into a multitude of bright and multi colored... thingies. What were they called again? Clear could vaguely recall San calling them sprites or something. Whatever, that was beyond the point. He still needed to take one of Ganondork's important items as payback for him taking Tim's Ocarina. But what would that item be... Clear instantly knew the answer to that. Heading back to the bedroom, Clear rummaged through the drawers to find Ganondork's list of plans to take over the world. Surely, losing this would distress him a great amount. With both items he needed in hand there was no more reason to remain in that house. Heading back to the storage room and pretending not to notice the mess they caused, Clear exited through the back door. He had made sure to put everything back to its original place before leaving, with the exception of the storage room which had no order in the first place. "Now to get San and get out of here... How do I contact him? Or perhaps I could..." Clear wondered, a number of ideas passing through his head. Moving back from behind Ganondork's house and into the streets, Clear was now in front of the house. He could just wait for San there, but if he didn't know that the mission had been a success he might keep on distracting Ganondork for who knows how long. So Clear decided he should notify him in some way. Still, it was going to be much easier than he expected since the front door was broken down. "What the hell San? In what part of the world did you think this was not going to attract attention?" Clear cursed under his breath. Sure enough, there were a few people staring at the scene and whispering. Great, now Clear had to come up with some way to patch things up. Yet, before he could say anything, the people just continued along their paths. That was a weird reaction so Clear thought he should ask someone to make sure what the hell was going on. "Um, excuse me, what exactly happened here? Ignoring the broken door, why does nobody seem to care about it?" he asked a middle-aged woman passing by. "Oh, you don't know? This house belongs to Ganondork, a real weirdo. A random person breaking in through the front door is not uncommon for him." she answered with a straight face. |

Ganondork stood there slack-jawed, obviously stunned; and he had all reason to. San and his summon had just played out perfectly a murder right in front of his eyes. "I-I-you- what did you do to him?" he uttered, even as the red-adorned summon laughed. "Oh, me? I did nothing, nothing at all- now, so long, good luck, and whatever you do, I'm obviously not hiding in the cellar, you hear?" The summon said, as he paused for a moment- it was perfect, the man was stunned by his words. With that, the summon suddenly leaped towards the coffee table, making a wild dash for the special glove. He snatched it almost immediately, and, with an obligatory wild cackle, vanished in a blur of red, and materialized in the hallway, where the summon ran straight out the door. Once he escaped the house, leaving behind the perfectly-acting San and the utterly-stunned Ganondork, the summon looked around - upon spotting Clear, the summon immediately flung the glove at him, before running straight in the other direction while laughing like a madman. "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts~" He sang, while running towards the back of the house. Soon after, Ganondork immediately also shot out of the back door, chasing after the summon with a fervant "Thief, thief! Give that back, you creepy lizard-looking thing!" Such was his passion, that within moments both were out of sight thanks to the summon running around the neighborhood, and the man in hot pursuit. Soon after, San finally exited the house, and upon seeing him Kuilei too began moving. "Quick, quick, leave this place now," San said, his words seemingly spoken to no one in particular, though he was hoping Clear would understand. |

No words could describe the scene that just unfolded before Clear's eyes. A man who he assumed was one of San's summons, darted out of the front door, threw some kind of glove at him then ran to the back of the building. Ganondork ran after him calling him a thief and leaving his house unattended. This was most likely San's aim since he exited immediately after that and urged Clear to leave the area. No words to describe it. Still, Clear didn't have to be told twice to leave that place, being arrested for breaking in and theft weren't on his list. And knowing San, he would run into some deserted alley if he left him to his own devices. "Just, follow me without doing anything else." Clear simply told San and led the way out of Ganondork's house. They still had to go back to where Tim was and complete the mission, although for some reason Clear felt that San had lost track of that objective. And the people around them didn't pay them a second thought. Was Ganondork known to be such a weird fellow that nobody would care about his house getting broken into? It would appear to be so. Still, Clear had a couple of things to ask San. Several minutes later the duo had gotten a good distance away from Ganondork's house. Clear thought this was a good time to talk to San. "I've got a few things to talk to you about. First of all, I managed to complete the mission. Here's the ocarina as well as a list of all of Ganondork's plans on how to take over the world as revenge. We've finished our objective with this, all that's left is to go back to Tim's house and return the items to him. Now, let me ask you a couple of things. What's this glove? Why did you steal it from him? And most importantly, why did you do something that would attract this much attention to us? What would you have done if a knight was close to the house? We're lucky Ganondork is such a weird person that nobody takes him seriously anymore, but if this was a normal case he would be in deep trouble. You better have some good excuse for your actions San." Clear said visibly angry. He knew that San was no idiot and he knew that he wouldn't do anything too reckless without reason, but these were the actions of a fool with no question. If this wasn't Coreopsis there would be a unit of knights surrounding them at about that time. |

San noticed Clear's anger, of course, as did Kuilei; the golem backed away a meter or so, uncertain whether to be afraid or not, but the undead mage merely rose an eyebrow, an expression unusual for him. "The glove," he began, "is of value to him; the mission requirements included taking an item of value, did it not? That there, is an item of value. The glove seems to have some form of magical properties - I daresay, related to some form of requipping magic - and he himself appeared to take pride in it. It was logical, to take it," San explained, wondering as to whether or not what he had done had affected some form of morality in Clear, or if the younger mage was just worried about the risks they had just taken. "In any case, if you're worried about the red-armored one - he is a summon, and by now I've already desummoned him," San continued, as somewhere further off a certain black-adorned man would turn a corner to find that the man he was pursuing had vanished. "He was...a wild card, I grant that much." The undead mage shook his head in exasperation a few times. "Of course, I only use him here because it is appropriate; the target was the type of man who wouldn't stop obsessing over his object unless a physical intrusion appeared, and it just so turns out that summons make for the ideal units." A wry half-grin crossed his face, though only for a moment. "This is Coreopsis, the guild of Tartaros, and Tartaros is not known for having summoners - if my research was correct, I am the sole one. My actions are themselves opposing the guild's status quo of wrecking anything and everything; the Knights or legal mages, had they been here, would not suspect me. For all public records, all tabs on the city, all listings of Tartaros - I am not public enough or of sufficient renown to be locatable, yet." He turned to the side, looking down at one of the waterways that crossed the city. "Worst case scenario, that being us located by Knights, the consequent route of action is simple: I have a summon grab yourself and myself, act like a hooligan, have him run from the legal forces, throw us somewhere halfway through, turn him around, and let him die in front of the legal forces." He nodded. "My summons are convenient that way." |

Of course, the secondary objective. Clear felt a little stupid for not realizing that earlier. And San's explanation made complete sense so he was going to let that slide. "True, I didn't consider that possibility. Well, we now have two objects that are of value to him. This just gives Tim more negotiating power in the future, depending on how he decides to use them. Not that it's any of our business what he does after this. Sorry for getting angry, I should have known you weren't one to act rashly. Anyway, our mission is now complete. Now to return to our client." Clear said to San. San had thought so far ahead it was a little scary. He had considered all of the possible scenarios and made a plan for each one. It felt reassuring to have a partner like him. Now if only he could find his way inside a city... With that said, Tim's house was coming into view. Just like before, Clear walked up to the front door and lightly knocked on it. After a few seconds the door opened and the familiar person from before was facing them. "well that certainly was fast. Don't tell me you already completed the mission?" Tim asked in a surprised voice. Clear nodded as confirmation. "May we come in?" he asked Tim. Even if the ocarina belonged to Tim, the other two items did not. The chances of someone recognizing them and reporting this to the knights or Ganondork were slightly less than zero, but Clear still thought he should be cautious. "Yes, by all means please do." Tim opened the door wide for them to enter. He showed them to the same seats from before and took a sit next to them as well. "so, did you find my ocarina?" he asked in an anxious voice. Clear moved his hand inside his pocket then took out the ocarina, then Ganondork's diary of conquering plans and finally the glove of triangles. "Here's your ocarina. The other two are items we consider Ganondork values and took them back as a form of revenge. He was keeping the ocarina in his bathroom, any idea why that was?" Clear asked Tim as he was handing him the items. Tim shrugged as he took the items in his hands. "I could never understand what goes through that person's head. His actions were always strange to me and everyone around him. He has delusions of grandiose, he thinks he's supposed to take over the world or something." Tim replied while holding onto his ocarina dearly. |

San nodded; he had no reason to be annoyed at Clear for his own feelings, and honestly getting angry was a tiresome task for him. "Do not worry about it; your thoughts are understandable," he reassured the water mage, "And it is still entirely my own fault for not being able to control my summons completely. I daresay the one I used was an uncontrollable figure, not unlike certain people that we both know - I am personally surprised that he was all so willing to comply with the summoning orders at all." On the side, San was muttering to himself. "At least, I hope I am not a rash one. Too many people in the guild listen to their hearts over their minds already, it's getting troublesome." He didn't say any more as he followed Clear, and the golem behind him was rather silent too; perhaps, a bit of time standing perfectly still was doing good on the golem - or maybe Kuilei was just in the process of recovering from the shock of doing nothing. Inside of Tim's house - San made Kuilei wait outside, hiding behind a tree - the undead mage had walked in behind of Clear, and, like before, wasted absolutely no time in distracted conversations. "The request is finished; the ocarina obtained, as well as not just one, but twice the amount of items valuable to your...rival." At his words, Tim nodded. "That's more than I asked for, but thanks anyways - now I'll be able to return the favor to him twice as hard," he said, a bit of a smile crossing his face. "Here, wait here for a moments, and I'll get the reward for you," he said, vanishing into a nearby hallway. San complied silently - he was neither impatient nor worried; he had a golem in the front door, after all. A minute or two later, Tim returned to the room with a bag in hand, the ocarina and other items no longer in his arms. "Here; this should be the right amount of compensation. Sorry that I didn't split it in two, though - but you two can do that, right?" San merely nodded, gesturing that it would be better for Clear to take the bag of Jewels for now. |

Clear received their reward from Tim. Splitting it up would have to wait for a little later, it was not a matter of great importance anyway. "Well then, since that is all we will be taking our leave now. If you ever have any requests in the future don't hesitate to choose our guild again. Have a nice day." Clear said to Tim politely with a slight bow. "The pleasure is all mine. I was a little skeptical about filling a request with a dark guild, but it turns out I had nothing to worry about." Tim replied with a smile and saw them off. Now outside, Clear and San had taken care of all their business. "That was fairly easy, D-Class missions are ridiculously easy. Let's head back to the guild for now, you don't have anything else to take care of, do you? You didn't look like you had any work to do when I met you in the morning." Clear said to San while starting to move back to the guild. That's one mission down for the day. And if one looked at it from a strange perspective, it was a rather fun experience. Sure, they had to break into a house and go through a whole mess, but that part was exactly what made it fun. Although Clear had a hunch San was not entirely amused. On the way back to the guild, Suina who had been quiet all this time for her own reasons, decided to pop up. "Hey, hey, Kui Ku... mister rock, why aren't you talking? Is something wrong?" she said while looking at Kuilei with a worried face. She was used to Kuilei talking all the time, mostly correcting San and acting as his conscience. He might not realize it most of the time, but she liked listening to their conversations, she found them incredibly fun. Those two were most suited to being a comedy pair rather than a mage and his servant, that's what Suina thought. Kuilei could also be some kind of teacher in a kindergarten or a babysitter, he was kind and always nice to her. She was really curious about why those two ended up as mages, it didn't suit them at all. But as Clear told her when she asked him before, she would not ask them. The reason was simple, Kuilei might like the idea and start trying to convince San to change his occupation. He would undoubtedly fail to do so, but it might sprout an argument between them and Clear wanted to avoid that if possible. Although he shared Suina's opinion up to a point. |

San followed Clear out of the house, soon to be joined by Kuilei who exited from his hiding place. "Yes, returning to the guild; it is what all people do after mission completion, or so I see from all the other members. I will probably stay for an hour or so before departing again, though; around this time of day it begins getting rowdy, too much so for my comfort," San responded, walking slightly behind his fellow guild member; the last thing he wanted to do was lead the way, as it would probably cost them an extra half hour in a part of Coreopsis no one visits. He wasn't particularly amused by the incidents they went through, but at the same time "Well, that was a productive morning. At this rate, I can probably obtain the next rank in...sometime in the future." He glanced at the Jewel bag briefly, estimating what amount it might contain. "Perhaps, afford an upgrade to my sword; it has been at least thirty years since I last saw a proper blacksmith." It was kind of funny, how things turned out. Kuilei was following San, therefore behind Clear, and thus immediately noticed when Suina popped out of the gourd; the moment she finally appeared to speak, he turned a complete one-eighty in behavior. "Huh?" Kuilei said, jerking suddenly as if snapping out of a trance. "Oh, sorry; I was just getting numb from standing around and not moving for so long - my rocks start settling down if I don't move for too long, so I try to control that," the golem explained, though San was shaking his head when he heard it. He didn't turn around to look at Kuilei, but he guessed very well - "Foolish Kuilei, you don't 'settle down' when you stop; the magic causes your physical self to regenerate continuously, so the stones and whatnot begin to overgrow until you shake them off - including over your mouth." The golem stared in surprise at San's words. "You mean, when my limbs feel stiff it's because they're heavier, not because they get numb?" "I've already explained this five times in the last week alone. At the very least, try to retain information like this into your empty head. I can guess without turning around - there is a small trail of pebbles behind there, are there not?" There was. |

[OOC: Turn this in for grading with your next post. Don't forget to tell them we completed both objectives. :)] Definitely a comedy duo, the exchanges of those two never ceased to amuse Clear. "Yeah, well, I dislike crowded places as well. Too many people are bound to cause some kind of commotion, especially in our guild. You remember what happened when Kaelian first arrived." Clear commented on San's statement about the guild. Suina listened closely on the explanation about Kuilei's form, but in the end got confused and dived in again. Bottom line was, Kuilei was fine, that's all she needed to know. All that complicated talk about magic and growth and rocks and whatnot, she couldn't comprehend all that. It wasn't long before they returned to the guild, the walk there continued without incident. "All right, here's your share of the reward." Clear said after splitting the money in half and giving San his portion. "I have a couple of thing to take care of in my room, I might come back down in a while. Let's do some more missions in the future, shall we?" Clear said his goodbyes to San before walking up to his room. In truth, he just wanted to drop off his stuff there, he had been carrying both his weapons the entire time. Walking up the stairs and into his room, Clear put down both his scythe and spear. They weren't that heavy, but it would be more comfortable to sit down and talk without them. Thinking back on the mission one last time, he and San made a pretty good team. Considering that Kenji had gone missing the past month or so without giving any signs of life, and the third person in his team being someone he had never even met, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to form a team with San. He had also left his past team for personal reasons so he was available. "Suina, how would you feel if we formed a team with San and Kuilei? I haven't seen Kenji in a long time, it's like we're not even a team anymore." Clear asked Suina in hopes that she might provide some insight to the situation. Suina brought her finger to her lip, signifying that she was thinking, and then she replied with a wide smile. "Why not?" was all she said. Clear was surprised by her straightforwardness and at the same time realized that she was right. Why not? Did he actually need a good reason for this? "You're right, why not? I guess I'll just ask San next time if we happen to go on another mission together." Clear said then he got up, and headed back to the guild hall. |

San took his half of the rewards, eying the Jewels momentarily before hiding it in a pocket. "Well, this should be enough to start some savings for," he grunted, nodding in agreement. "I should be able to recompensate the guild for some of the alcohol supply I've depleted recently with the rest of it." He soon waved farewell to Clear, nodding to his suggestion. "You are not a problem to work with, at all. Farewell, and I would not mind working with you more in the future," San responded, before turning the other way to return to his customary seat by the counter, the golem following him. "Goodbye for now, Clear and little Suina~" he called out, before turning away as well. It didn't take long - San had barely refilled his gourd, and sat down - before Kuilei came up with something again. "Say, San, have you considered..." The undead mage put a hand out, motioning for silence. Taking a large swig of his gourd, he drank it all, and slammed the gourd on the counter. "Let me guess. You too, finally realized that due to my absence I am no longer a member of the Wrecking Crew by personal request, and, due to the efficiency of working with others in a squadron, and the surprising availability of certain members, it would be best if I worked with Clear more?" The golem stood there, speechless. San wasn't a mind reader, but he knew Kuilei a bit too well. "I- I just- I thought that-" To his surprise, San didn't rebuke him for his idea, merely looking away with a ghost of a smile. "You are forgetting that he is already a part of a team, San. It is necessary that he goes with his own first and foremost, or else he will be deemed unloyal. As for myself - I am certain, there will be plenty of chances for myself to work with others in the guild, as much as I hate familiarizing myself with most of them." With that, the undead mage suddenly stood up, putting his gourd back in its customary location. "But I am done here, for now. Let us return to the forest, Kuilei - this day feels like another day for meditation. I feel like something interesting will happen soon, and we must prepare for it," he instructed, beginning to walk towards the exit. The golem of course obliged, following him. They were almost at the exit, just about to leave, when for some reason San felt the urge to turn around - "Eh? Clear came right back out already?" |
