Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Nobody was at the Auction. It was empty. Comma figured this out after some minutes of searching.

It was "Brute-Force Search" time. Comma didn't have time or patience to waste. She unsummoned her escort clone and then summoned four more clones and two fairies. She commanded each of them to go to a different location to look for the author of the note, and she gave each clone and fairy instructions written on a sheet of paper.

Original Comma went discretely to the last place she saw the Labmobile.
Clone Alfa went to the Central Plaza.
Clone Gamma went to the Cafe.
Clone Zeta went to the Dark Inn.
Fairy 2 search Commas Apartment.
Clone Omega & Fairy 1 together wandered randomly though the city.

So. She had an individual to search every single location she had been at (except the Auction House, which has been already discarded). She even had a spare Clone to search randomly, so even if all of the previous searchers where looking in the wrong places, her chances of finding the author where not zero. When a searcher finds her, Comma would know. She had a unconventional plan up her sleeve.

Each Searcher would return to the plaza after looking, but if they found the Author, they would either perform a mortal backflip to kill themselves if the Author has murderous intents (she/he might be another Dragon Searcher), or stay there (if the Author doesnt have murderous intents). If the clone/fairy is missing at the Plaza and Comma still feels she is sustaining the lone magically, the clone/fairy has found the Author and the Author doesnt seem to have murderous intents at first. However, if the clone/fairy is missing and Comma doesnt feel that she is sustaining the Clone, the Author is Dangerous. All Clones & Fairies would follow this system, except for the trope that walked randomly together. In that case, the Clone would wait at the location, and the Fairy would attempt to return to the plaza with a report, possibly with aid of Omega to escape any hazardous situation.

Original Comma crossed her fingers. She hoped her system worked. It was like playing Cluedo. But with magic. And Clones. And possibly Dragons.

Unfortunately, none of the places that the old woman looked were the location that she was after.
The "author" as it were was still hidden somewhere in the village.
And Astrea was still hidden as well.

All of the clones returned to the plaza, fruitless.

Comma was somewhat frustrated. If she couldn't find a building that was no more, she would make a building that was no more. This is probably not what the author intended, however, it was the only option she could think of.

Clone Zeta, Omega, Alfa and Beta summoned additional clones with the use of "Additional Multiplication".

All of Commas clones and fairies then went to one side of a small two-story residencial apartment that was adjacent to the plaza and Gamma Casted "Add" onto all of them. Original Comma put on her goggles. Then, they all lifted the building up and flipped it over like a pancake, and sending a cloud of debris onto the whole plaza and destroying spectacularly the building. The original Comma and the clones all retreated into separate directions, and then after a few minutes, they reunited under a bridge. Except two. Clone Alfa and her doppelganger remained at the scene of the crime, awaiting someone to appear at the disaster scene, while shouting "THERE YOU GOT IT! A BUILDING THAT IS NO LONGER!".

The others then huddled together under the bridge, planning thier next course of action. They theorized that perhaps the meaning of "longer" was some sort of length, or measurement. Or perhaps it meant something like a sort of ruin or something. They continued to analyze what they had done, and what they where going to do now.

Proposed Strength for the Building-Flipping

[[OOC: That... totally wouldn't work normally, but I'll let it slide this once.]]

They were on the right track with one of their thoughts, but the flipping of the building was a hilarious act, but one that was thoroughly moot.
Still, "no longer" was a term that was only applied in one sort of case really.
Time.

Comma scratched her head pensatively.

"Look within the building that is no longer".

She murmurmed to herself. She and her clones then started to draw forth educated guesses based on what they had figured out until now. They started to draw forth chains of thought.

Clone Beta drew forth her "Argument from the Authors Knowledge", and wrote it on a piece of paper for the others to analyze.

Argument from the Authors Knowledge

So this clone sat and did nothing, due to that nothing was needed to be done.

Clone Alfa thought of the "Argument from exact Interpretation of the Riddle", and she wrote it on a paper too.

Argument from the Definition of the Target Building

So this clone wandered off to think how to check that a building is no longer, and decided to visit the town hall to ask about the layout of the city and its past.

Clone Gamma drew forth another argument, and she wrote it on a paper too

The Paradox Argument

So this clone sat grumpily and did nothing too, because the riddle couldn't be solved and she felt trolled.

So, the three arguments that they had thought of could be summarized as:

1- Nothing needed to be done, either because the purpose of the riddle has been already fulfilled, or because it can't be solved.
2- If the riddle was about finding a certain location within the set of locations in Tully Village, the only method of resolution is to check every single location in Tully Village.

Each one of these arguments seemed coherent to the rest of the clones, yet none of them knew which one was the correct one. The crux of the problem is that the riddle is extremely vague, and there can exist multiple interpretations of it, and they wouldn't have a way to know which interpretation is the correct one. However, each one of them is Metaphorically True in a sense, in the same way that the authors interpretation may also be Metaphorically True.

Clone Omega then spoke out loud a thought most of the clones where thinking.

"Think of this fellow clones. For example, "Look within the Bosom of Acacia" may refer to the Cerulean Gorge, to the main Plaza of Acacia, to the centermost location in the city of Acacia, to a certain club called "The Bosom of Acacia" or to the chest of the mayor of Acacia (or his wifes chest). Or many more things. The amount of possibilities is absurd."

The rest of them hung thier heads slightly and some sighed. They felt they were being played by a child, not by a tester of thier abilities. However, the Original Comma kept thier spirits up, and they continued to theorize more arguments.

OOC: Sigh...

[[OOC: A couple of holes in your logic, actually like 4, but I'm just gonna help speed this along because your defeated attitude is harshing my mellow :P]]

If it was indeed the intention of the clone who had headed to the town hall to bust this whole thing wide open, then it was indeed a good intention for one to have. The idea of a building that is no longer is a curious one, and as the clone would do whatever it was she would do to check the town's layout it would be clear that there were two possible locations for the small piece of paper that they had found earlier to be referring to.
See, however she got her hands on the plans to the city the thing would show that the general layout to the village was a general sort of square, with the streets meandering around in a sequential and geometric pattern but with two small flaws to the entire structure, one on the East and one on the West side of the town.

On the East side was a small red X across one of the corner buildings at the very edge of town, and were someone to check out this building one would find that what should have been a building was in fact just nothing, an empty plot of land that not only looked as though it had never been developed, but that it was empty for no feasible reason. If one were to explore with however one would find a curiosity below a fairly large rock, a curiosity that gave way to stairs that would lead into an open -and empty- cavern of sorts below the land, though with a small silver table in the center of the cavern.

On the West side however was a small building that was written with a large C on the map of the city, a circled letter to boot. If one was to find and explore this building they would find it was in ruins, blackened and burned and charred due to a recent fire or something along those lines.
And in one of those two buildings lay the answer.

OOC: As a curiosity, "X" and "C" on a keyboard are adjacent. But in Fairy Tail there are no keyboards, no, meh. Cool though xD

The clone returned to the plaza with the others, informing her findings by drawing a sketch with the information she had achieved at the town hall.

Map

The other clones shrugged and realized that the obvious step now would be to search at those two locations. Comma obviously couldn't visit them both, and she didn't have any logical reason to give preference to one location or another. The "C" on the map didn't give more of a clue to the dragons whereabouts than the "X". And if they did gave clues, they would both be Metaphoric interpretations, and Comma already knew the problems she had with Metaphoric interpretations. So, she decided to use her clone magic again to her advantage.

She dispersed the massive amount of clones he had conjured up before and she took a rest after the effort of mantaining them. She had a drink of Super Cola and a Burger, and then she resumed her search. She summoned forth another clone, and she commanded it to go to one side, whereas she would go to the opposite side. If the clone found anything interesting, it would follow a certain command to communicate her findings to Comma.

OOC: Splitting my rp into the two characters I'm controlling

At the east, she didn't find a building. Instead, she found an empty plot, that seemed to have nothing in it. It was filled of dirt, without any foundation or construction material nearby. There was just nothing, a patch of empty at the edge of the city. She had a little look around - she had taken the effort to get there and she might as well have a look around. She noticed a large-ish rock. It was the largest thing on the flat extention of land, so she decided to go towards it. In a sudden fit of rage of not fiding anything, she flipped the rock to find a tunnel. Random tunnels are interesting, so she went inside to discover a cave with a single silver table in it.

At the west, the mathimagician didn't find anything else besides a burnt house. It seemed to have been burned recently. Could she go inside? Yeah, she could, but buildings in that state are normally very damaged and dangerous. Going inside could be suicide. She decided to remain outside and explore from afar until she found something else, however, it seemed that the east side was more fruitful than this location.

The oddest thing about this whole thing was that, while the 'real' Comma would find whatever it was on the side she had gone to, but the side that the clone had gone to would be fruitless, but in a way that was not expected.
See, when the Clone had arrived at the location it had been designated there would be a delay, though not a long one, before a forced pulse of magic blossomed within it and, immediately, de-summoned the clone completely. There would be no pain to Comma for this however, but she would definitely be aware of this...

Comma felt a sudden relief. She wasn't mantaining the clone anymore. This was the instruction she gave the clone: if it found something, it would purposefully suicide itself. But at a certain time, either at xx:20 PM, xx:40PM or xx:00PM, so that Comma could know that the clone was purposefully commiting suicide and granting her relief instead of it just being an accident. Like that, if she felt relief at one of those times, Comma would know that the clone had found something interesting and it was intentionally trying to communicate that to her.

The little math mage didn't have telepathy or similar abilities, however, this was the best method of long-distance communication between herself and her clones without having to purchase an item that she could think of, dispite it involved suicide.

Comma whipped her watch forth and looked at the time. It was xx:32. The clones sudden disappearance wasn't intentional. It got killed by something else. Something had gone wrong.

She stopped for a moment in front of the burnt house and thought. Why would someone try to kill her? It must've been something related to the dragon, she thought. The only behaviour she had shown in Tully were activites related to finding the dragon. So chances are high that the attacker is related to those activites. Plus, considering that she had died trying to go the empty plot or at the plot itself, her main suspect was the Author.

She had to deduce now whether the clone died at the plot or before.

Comma walked back to the town hall, instead of directly towards the empty plot. She looked at her watch. It marked xx:59.

"It took me about 27 minutes to go from the town hall to the burnt house. Ergo, we both left the town hall at about xx:05." She said to herself.

She then walked towards the empty plot trying to imitate the gait of her clone - which is walking just like herself, so it was easy. She arrived at the plot after about twenty minutes. It was sightly closer to the town hall than the other. However, if the clone took about twenty minutes as well, it would have arrived at xx:25. If the clone died at xx:32, it died at the plot.

This had to be the spot.

Comma placed herself in the middle of the plot, somewhat oblivious to the moved rock and the tunnel and instead yelled a taunt to her surroundings with her arms open and arrogant.

"Saaa! Here I am, dutch-bag. I'm here for our friggin date, you facking lolee-con!"

While turning around and making sure that every direction was called upon, she noticed the revealed tunnel and the moved rock. The tracks of the moved rock were fresh in the ground. Her clone had certainly been here. The tunnel was the most plausible location for her death.

"Aha! So you want do to earthy and DIRTY things?

OOC: I must note that she is referring to things related to dirt when she is saying "dirty things", such as digging holes to hide candy and making mud castles with flags.

...Well, a small and inconspicous cave is the best place to do that!"

OOC: Because like that, the other children won't find and ruin the mud castles that cost you so much effort. Kids are mean.

Comma then prepared herself for a possible battle, and braced herself as she boldly went down the stairs in the tunnel.

[[OOC: Kids suck huh.]]

As the real Comma braced herself and entered the below-ground little room that had been so awkwardly hidden, almost as though by a child themselves, she came into a place that was probably not as hostile or even dirty as she would have expected.
The cavern here was almost as though an actual room, one from a palace with silver-and-black vaulted walls and a slightly arched ceiling around them, to a dark marble tiled floor below. It was fairly empty at first, except for a small silver table in the center with two chairs on either side, chairs that at first glance were empty. However after a heartbeat and a blink one chair was occupied suddenly, by a tall woman with flowing crimson locks in a nice little white shirt and black jeans number, sitting with a small cup of tea in front of her.

"Come, sit, please," the woman said, gesturing for Comma to sit opposite her, "We have much to discuss I feel, especially as you have hunted so doggedly."
A cup and a teapot would appear in the center of the table then, a teapot full of liquid exactly to Comma's preference -and not necessarily tea either- and while the other woman's magic would not work in the room the crimson-haired woman was more than willing to make her comfortable with her own.
It seemed her hunt had come to an end of sorts.
