Fairy Tail RPG Current News

Hey everyone! It's May and you know what that means? Yeah, me neither. There's not a whole lot in terms of major news right now, except for maybe some clarification on some forms of magic like usual. As for a new event? Right now, we're just having the April Event (Bosco Invasion part 3) taking place, which runs into the middle of May. But, one cool new thing that we're introducing this month is SS-Class items. Now you have something to grind and agonize over! Yay, isn't that just lovely? I think so. You can find more info on that in the Equipment and Item Creation section in the rules.

That's it for now, folks! If I get anything new to add to this you can guarantee that I will do so. In the words of the immortal douchebag rival, "Smell ya later." Keep on RPing everyone! Kill some Boscans!

It was a decent time in Lavender Forest; though not particularly sunny due to the clouds, the gentle wind made for a rather pleasant atmosphere for whoever would have decided to take a stroll through the forest that day - that is, as long as they didn't take the path less taken, the one that involved going to the top of one of the few cliffs in the area. You see, several months ago a certain unfortunate being chose to take that path, and suffered a most miserable situation that only now he broke out of...

Rumors of a dead body in the Forest had been going around now for several weeks, and though no one could exactly pinpoint its location (most people who saw it screamed and ran away far too fast to remember where they saw it) by the very side of the cliff a "dead body" was indeed lying there, the body of a late-middle aged man in tinted glasses, with red robes and a giant blade by his side. Today, though, was something different. The body, by now covered by a few lavender leaves, finally began to move.

San groaned as he regained consciousness, slowly jerking his limbs back up to a sitting position. "Ughhhhh...how long have I been here?" he asked himself quietly, though his voice sounded distorted, unstable - inhuman. "What. The. Hell..." Groaning once more, the man slowly stood up, though he moved like some sort of marionette, uncoordinated and blocky. Looking around, his tinted glasses hid his eyes from view, and he pushed them back to make sure it would remain so. "Accursed Monastery and Graveyard of Heroes, bringing me back like this, putting me between a deranged killer and a mad scientist..." He muttered under his breath, testing out his arms and legs.

For the most part, they worked fine, except for the occasional freezing up - but he'd have to deal with that later. There was the more urgent matter of "!@#$. Tartaros...how long have I been out? There must be someone around here who can tell the time. Or actually, I can't remember how to get out of here either." He sighed once more. "The living have it so troublesome. Then again, the dead probably have it worse."

'Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch..' This was the only sound Ayanami heard as she traversed a rather unused path through the lush forest outside Poinsettia. Aya needed a bit of fresh air now after moving to the city to escape Belladonna. Her former residence now filled her with endless nightmares after the things she had witnessed in the streets of Belladonna. She just wanted to escape and forget Dexter Vinkheart and Diaev Carabanchi. Though, she was still oblivious to the fact that Dexter had manipulated her to further his own dark desires and plots, she still felt a strong dislike for the man and his giant comrade. Ever since she witnessed the slaughtering of many men at Diaev's hand, she hadn't been the same. As she walked along the path less traveled, even the slightest rustling in the vibrant, violaceous weald made the timid girl jolt with a sudden onset of panic. She just had to keep telling herself that it was nothing more than wild animals or the wind. The female carried on, clad in rather obscure clothing for one to be trekking the woodland in. She was dressed in nothing more than a form fitting, ash grey tank top, and a black, almost uniform skirt that looked like it would belong to a Japanese, high school uniform. On her feet were nothing more than a pair of plain grey flip flops. Due to the design of her top, both of her tattoos were visible. On her right shoulder, a tribal sort of tattoo, hunter green in color, of her kingdom's deity, Nakur was seen. On her left shoulder was her guild tattoo, a lime green, Quatro Cerberus mark. Her long, forest green hair was pulled up into a ponytail. Occasionally, her hair moved, showing the cloud shaped birthmark on the back of her neck. It was a mark that designated her as royalty and, as her people believed, a vessel of Nakur's soul.

Aya trekked on, weaving through trees and the brush, but paused upon hearing a voice in the near distance. She froze in place, her feet barely crunching down on dried, dead leaves as she started to back up a little. The voice was male. That part was obvious. Aya decided to make herself known. The male in the distance sounded somewhat distressed. She didn't want her sudden appearance to be mistaken as sneaking or spying. That could only result in a bad situation for her. So, she called out to the distant being. "Uh, hello out there! Are you alright? You sound distressed! Do you...uhm...need any help?" After speaking, Aya gathered every ounce of courage that she could muster, her arm reaching back and her hand gripping the handle of the buster sword strapped to the girl's back. A necessary precaution, just in case she had to defend herself. She hated to fight. She hated violence in general, but she did have the means to protect herself, just in case she really had to. Slowly, she made her way along the trail, it being blanketed by leaves to show how little it was used. Judging from the way the trail was fairly hidden, the being up the path a bit had to have been there for quite some time. Aya began to wonder if she was walking into the male's own domicile. She gritted her teeth and continued to inch forward, she seeing a figure coming into view. It looked like it was seated upon the ground. Was this the man she heard?

San froze up, every muscle and joint becoming tense the moment he heard a foreign sound. What was that? Who said that? Someone else? Something else? Sounded...feminine. Perhaps, a fortunate traveler sent to assist me? Thoughts flashed through his undead mind like wildfire, though he quickly dismissed all of that as unnecessary worry. Heh. What's the worst they can do...kill me? HA! Encouraged by his own thoughts, the disabled man finally spoke. "I am over here," he shouted, though his voice was scarily similar to the sound of crackling leaves. "If you could assist a poor man in getting up and getting out of this accursed forest, your kindness would be duly appreciated." His voice remained inconsistent, stretching a few sounds where they shouldn't be, the volume erratic, and yet sounding slightly monotone the entire time.

Still incapable of fully helping himself up, the undead man just sat there helplessly, considering the next course of action. "Of course, the sooner the assistance is better, and I hope for your own sake you're not a cursed and vile beast in the guise of a female voice attempting to consume me - if you are, I recommend you leave as soon as possible. I promise to permanently taint your appetite for as long as you live, if you even make so much as a snap towards me," he calmly continued, reminding himself of how dangerous forests could be when magic and monsters were involved. To be on the safe side, he grabbed onto his oversized sword, swinging it so that the blade faced downwards; easier for him to get up if he needed it to act as a makeshift cane, and for him to scare potential beasts. Of course, there was always that method...but he preferred not to disclose his true state of existence.

"Hello? Are you still there?" he called out, even as he began to pull himself up using his sword to stabilize himself. "These accursed legs..." he grunted, as he slowly stood up over about thirty seconds worth of time. Finally standing, he still held onto the blade as a makeshift cane, though he looked around curiously. "Who...are you...hello?"

This better not be a joke. I have to- wait, I have too many questions. Even if it is a madman, they should know the time...

Aya stiffened again when the being responded to her words. She eyed him from a safe distance, her right hand still clutching the handle of her Emerald buster sword. His voice made her shiver. It was gravelly, and kind of frightening to the young princess. She eyed his moving silhouette with great caution. She heard him speak again, this time with a subtle threat. Of course, she couldn't blame him for being cautious. She would have been the same way. She took in a deep breath, loosening up her stiff limbs before trudging through the thick brush to get closer. By now, she could see the male a little clearer, she brushing her green and teal bangs out of her eyes, her aurulent optics working to process the unusual appearance of the being before her. Despite her greatest efforts to silence her footsteps, the dried leaves that formed a sneak proof layer on the ground had eliminated all hopes of a subtle approach. The mage began to wonder a bit to herself about how the man ended up here for so long. Well, obviously he walked here, but he must not have any idea of how to navigate the area, or else he wouldn't be so lost in the forest. her mind then wandered to the subject of his alignment. Was he good? Was he evil? Aya shuddered. She never wanted to be amongst the evil sort again. Not after meeting Dexter and Diaev. She wasn't one to judge right away, so she gave this lost traveler the benefit of the doubt. She continued to proceed with caution.

Aya heard him speak again, asking if she was still there. She promptly responded to prevent the possibility of upsetting the male. "Yes, I'm still here, mister. My name is Ayanami. I have no malicious intent, I assure you. I was just out for a walk when I heard you. Are you in any form of distress? Pain? Or perhaps you're just lost... I could offer you assistance, if you need it, mister....uh..." She paused there, hoping he'd give his name in response. She emerged from the shadows of the forest, the light filtering through the treetops now revealed her presence to the one on the ground. She made note of his sword, the sight of him holding it unnerved her until she realized he was using it like a crutch. Perhaps he had wounded his leg? Aya took in any and all details that she could about the male, though not much of him could be seen because of his dense attire that covered most of his body. he didn't appear to have any other weapons on him. Only the sword. Taking a risk, Aya moved to the side opposite of the one in which his sword was serving as a crutch, she attempting to help hold the man up. She was stronger than she looked, so supporting the larger male wasn't a huge ordeal. She was more concerned about how he'd react to her sudden gesture of kindness.

The undead mage sighed in relief, upon being assisted. "Thank you, young one - the name is San, though I don't think it will be of any relevance here," he said in that same dry and unnerving voice. A wry grin crossed his otherwise-emotionless face, as he continued. "Don't worry; my leg will eventually regain its senses. It's simply a matter of time until they're distributed evenly again," he explained, though he failed to state what "they" were. "In any case, I feel no pain," he added, followed by a dark chuckle. "Oh, only the fortunate...don't worry, I neither need to quench thirst nor fill hunger right now either; all I seek is a path to leave this forest. I worry, that I may be rather late for a very important appointment."

Now that he reminded himself of it, San groaned at the thought of his inevitable return to his guild. Ryo is going to roast me ali...ok, not roast me alive. But being roasted dead doesn't sound all too pleasing either, he grimly mused. For now, there was the immediate problem of getting out of this accursed forest. "I'll be fine after a few more minutes, I'm sure," San suddenly spoke, after his pause. "I simply need to know the way out of here. Presuming you're not lost either - would you be so kind as to showing me the path?" He asked in the same voice, dead and erratic. "It would be most kind of y-ah-ah-" A sudden urge to sneeze gripped the undead mage.

"Ah-Choo!" San sneezed, head jerking forward; he let loose the traditional wind, but no saliva. In its place, a multitude of tiny brightly-flashing spherical lights came out, hanging briefly in the air before shooting back into the open sleeves and other clothing openings San had, vanishing from view. San sniffed. "Excuse me...I may not still be feeling completely well." He did not explain further, knowing that the inevitable questions would come - but at least, until then, he wished to get as close to the exit as possible. Especially since there was a large chance that he'd be exceedingly occupied with something of a less peaceful nature once he revealed everything...If only people were stupid and stayed silent, perhaps the world would be right. Who am I kidding. Just I, just I. Selfish me...but oh, how the sprites are calling out to me right now."

Aya was quite relieved to find that the man openly accepted her assistance. She was worried that he'd find it awkward that a girl like her would be as strong, and as unusually willing to help a strange man in the quiet solitude of the forest. Aya may have lacked a little common sense at times. She could never turn down someone in need of assistance, after all. She was just too nice to do such a thing. However, ever since her choice to help Dexter, she had become a little less trusting than normal, but this man seemed genuine in his current helplessness. She adjusted her stance, she shifting to support the man's weight with the greatest of ease. She simply listened as the man gave his name before explaining that his leg will be fine once they reach homeostasis. Aya couldn't help but wonder what he meant by "they", and was incredibly tempted to ask, however she wasn't the type to pry. Perhaps he meant his sense of feeling, or referred to his blood cells as they. An odd thought, yes, but Aya could be a little airy at times. Regardless of what he meant, she just smiled and nodded as if she knew what he meant. She was relieved to hear that he was in no pain, nor was he famished or parched. Curioser and curiouser. He explained that all he sought was a way out of the forest and that he was potentially late for an important rendezvous. It was so nice to find people so concerned about punctuality.

Aya just smiled before finally speaking. "Well, I know my way around this forest like the back of my hand, so I'll gladly help you get out of here." she paused when she heard the man groan, she glancing up at him with a bit of concern. Just as she was about to question his welfare, he spoke again, repeating his previous statement, a paraphrased version, however. He was halted mid sentence by what appeared to be a sneeze. Aya felt his body jerk, she focusing on the brief image of glowing dots that quickly vanished into the man's attire. Aya blinked a couple times, wondering if she was simply seeing things. She shook it off, dubbing the light specks as a trick of the eyes. She gave the man a warm smile when he explained that he hasn't been well lately. Poor guy. Of course, sleeping in the woods will do that to a person. "then we better get you out of here quick. I'd prefer to get you out before the wolves come out. Plus, it's supposed to rain. One as ill as you definitely doesn't need either of those things, that's for sure. Let's get you out of here, Mr. San." Aya shifted her position again, urging the man to walk as she began to move herself, her gait a bit awkward given the fact that she was supporting a man much larger than herself. However, she faced it with determination as she aided the man in moving down the leaf coated path back towards the entrance of the woods. In the distance, the cry of a few wolves was faintly heard. Trouble was afoot...

San could not help but chuckle at the girl's worry for him. "I am certain that I can handle a bit of rain, no worries there," he quietly replied, all the while wondering as to why the sudden care. She looks strange too; no normal person- unless she's not normal? Naturally, he was at the moment borderline-paranoid that anyone he met could possibly be a member of Tartaros, out hunting for him - or his head - for some reason or another; exactly how long he was gone, still didn't know. Speaking of which: "By any chance, do you know what season it is, or better yet, what month and what year? I have a bit of an issue with remembering time, you see, and I've no idea how long I have been there on the side of the cliff..." He asked with a minutely apprehensive tone, hoping that not too much time had passed since he had been gone.

San heard the cry of wolves, but ignored it for the most part, putting it off with a simple As if they could survive...eating me. He had greater problems on his mind, such as the fact that he was feeling a slight itch somewhere inside of his body - never a good sign. "Have you seen anything- anything out of the ordinary, lately?" He asked, looking around slowly even as he took several unsteady steps; how he managed to maintain what balance he had, was beyond himself. "Say...ghosts? Spirits? Will-o-the-wisps? Banshees? Sprites? Anything of the sort? I had heard," he paused a moment, listening to the sound of a particularly loud wolf howl at an unnervingly loud volume; it couldn't be too far away.

"That this was the home of certain aspects of the less-friendly spirits." With that much being said, San grunted and doubled his efforts, moving his sluggish limbs at a faster and more normal pace through sheer willpower. Already, he began to feel some balance return into them as sprites slowly began to fill up his legs, but it was still quite a task for him. Focused on getting out, he did not succeed to notice that which was right behind him - a few pairs of glowing eyes, a soft growl in the air...

Aya could feel the male's eyes burning metaphoric holes in her. After all, she didn't exactly look like the average girl. Her ears were somewhat pointed, and she did have that vivid green and teal hair. Her eyes were a luminescent yellow. She was different, and she knew it. And the male knew it too, so to clear some of the potentially awkward air, she decided to just give the male a smidgen of info about her unusual traits. "I know you're probably wondering why I look so...well...different. Well, you see.... I'm one forth lizard demon... My mother is a half demon... That's why I have the pointed ears, the yellow eyes, and the odd hair color. I hope.. I hope that doesn't unnerve you, Mr. San... I'm more human than demon after all.." She gave the man a friendly smile, assuring him that she truly meant no harm or had no malicious intent. The princess didn't have the capability of doing horrible things, even if she tried. She just didn't have it in her. She heard him ask various questions. Common ones that anyone should know. She blinked a bit, wondering just how long this man had been out in the woods. "Well, It's early Summer, the month of June, and the year is..." She paused there as the howling came out much louder from within the forest, followed by the thundering of dense paws upon the tightly packed earth. These wolves weren't normal wolves.

Aya's ears seemed to twitch slightly. She turned to see seven pairs of illuminated, crimson eyes peering at the two from the brush. Aya stiffened, she whispering to San while making no sudden movements. "Oh, this forest is full of many unfriendly, otherworldly things.... Such as those wolves.... Those aren't your garden variety lupines.... Those are demon wolves. Are you able to move on your own yet? We need to run. For now, just follow my lead and start backing away slowly. No sudden movements, alright?" With that, the girl tightened her grip on San. She was clearly trembling. perhaps San could even feel it. She hated confrontation and feared that this encounter may lead to unnecessary combat. Aya exhaled slowly, keeping her composure while slowly inching backwards, doing her best not to jerk or jolt San around. They had to be in sync for this to go over well enough for them to get away. Meanwhile, the wolves just watched the two, panting. frothing at the mouth as acidic drool dribbled from open maws. Aya had to keep herself in check if she wanted to get out without being a chew toy. It was like they could smell her demon blood. They then looked at San, one wolf letting out a pained whine before taking off with its tail between its legs. Aya noticed it, but didn't make anything of it right away. She was too busy trying to keep from startling the other hungry furballs. She just kept backing up, a firm grip still kept on San as she moved. Almost there...

A sigh of relief escaped San's mouth, as he could feel the sprites within him slowly but surely enter his legs, making his movements less and less effort-costly with every second; granted, he still moved with abnormal steps and erratic movements, but at the very least he didn't have to tire himself out doing so now. Shifting his own balance slowly to rely less on Aya's assistance, he listened to her words with a considerable amount of interest. "Lizard demon? What kind?" he whispered, his voice not unlike fallen leaves in autumn rubbing against one another. In his mind, he considered several forms of reptilian monsters he had heard of in the myths back east, though his musings quickly dissipated-

"Summer, did you say? Not good, not at all..." Summer meant that he had been gone for quite a considerable amount of time, which, while not being the several decades that he had considered as worst possible option, still wasn't something to celebrate over. So busy was he thinking, that he practically dismissed the wolves; "The wolves can wait. How are the guilds of Fiore doing? Has there been any news of them? Fairy Tail, Quatro Cerberus, Grimoire Heart...Tartaros?" The sound of a howling wolf not so far away interrupted him before he could say more, causing San to get annoyed. The sounds only got louder, however, as the wolves began closing in.

"I said, the wolves can wait. In fact, I believe they will; in a forest of spirits, no being that lives in a pack is ever at the top of the chain."

While his words were strangely said, and lacked any explanation, he did intend to say those very words for a purpose; further off, a dozen or so meters behind them, the ground glowed as sprites flew out of the earth, clustering around each other until they formed a remotely humanoid shape. They soon split, leaving behind a figure hidden by the shadows of the trees. Mostly hidden. Had Aya or the wolves bothered turning around, they would have seen an extra pair of glowing red eyes, considerably taller than the wolves...

"No, a solitary hunter must always take the top of the chain." With that, San eagerly awaited with his ears - his patience was satisfied, when the sound of a wolf yelping in pain sounded out from the back.

Aya blinked a couple times when San asked about the species of Lizard Demon that she was. She had to think about it for a bit. Her mother told her about her grandfather before, and could vaguely remember what type of lizard demon he was. Then finally, it hit her. "Oh! The species is Chinese Water Dragon. And it's not the dragon that you're thinking. Well...if that IS what you're thinking.... heh.... Sorry... Uhm...." Her attention turned back to the howing, her cheeks flushing somewhat out of embarrassment. She had bigger things to worry about. And yet, the man continued to casually ask questions. This time, he asked about the guilds. "Well, I'm afraid I'm not much help there. I just recently left Blue Pegasus to join Quatro Cerberus. As for the others, I'm not too sure. I spent my whole life isolated on Galuna Island, so I'm afraid I've never heard of some of the guilds you've mentioned. I know Fairy Tail has been in the news lately, but I've never heard of Tartaros or Grimoire Hearts. Sorry I couldn't be of much help, Mr. San." After the wolves closed in and Aya made her previous speech of staying calm and such, that is, until she heard another wolf yelp, but not like the one who fled. This one sounded like the wolf was in pain. Aya stiffened, her senses screaming for her to turn around. She had the feeling that something was behind her, but her sanity told her not to look. So, she didn't, but she clutched San a little tighter, hinting her slight sense of fear. Something had killed one of the wolves, but what was it?

Aya inched backwards, but was stopped when her rear bumped into something behind her. She stiffened and swallowed hard, her hands clenched on San's clothing. "Don't turn around....don't turn around.....don't turn around..." She pleaded with herself, but she didn't listen. Slowly, her head turned, those yellow eyes falling upon a humanoid figure. She gasped, her heard leaping into her throat. The sudden shock hit the girl suddenly, she falling to the ground. unconscious. The panic caused her to fall into sudden syncope. She couldn't help how nervous and easily frightened she was. She was still freshly traumatized by previous events. It would take time for her to get over what happened. For now, unfortunately, she was useless to San until she came to. Hopefully, he wouldn't be too mad.
