Right block or Left block? What is the best way for the world? Conservatism, liberalism or socialism, communism? Pick the one in the middle if you do not care or if you think a balance between the two :P Edited by Darion, Apr 26 2012, 12:27 PM.

By this definition, I would define myself as left-wing. To be more precise, a social liberalist. I believe that the role of the government should be to leave the citizens to their own devices, yet provide assistance when in need. This would, in my opinion, decrease the risk of popular dissent, yet provide for an egalitarian society where equality is placed first - as such, a state would not exactly be a welfare state. I do feel that harsher taxes should be imposed on the upper classes on society, to provide for the adequate funding of governmental initiatives to benefit the people, and not as fuel for political corruption and mismanagement. Yet the ideals of the French Revolutionaries, I strongly agree with - the freedom of worship, the freedom of speech, and most importantly, the concept of a Social Contract. Where a government has failed its people, its people has the right to overthrow the government in favour of a perceived "better" government to lead the country forward. This system seems to be hold its ground, having been adopted by many Western countries. Alas, where I come from, is sadly a very conservative society, and social movements are hard to catch on. I do hope Asia evolves from conservatism to social liberalism - it is, in my opinion, the best way to establish a global society, in which we are all able to work together, and reduce the risk of disharmony. |

Does dedicated mean you're actively working against communism as an activist? Or you're just very firm in your beliefs relating to communism? |

I must say I am abit disappointed that there are (of the ones that have voted) more left people than right. Oh well you are entilted to your own opinion, I can just hope that you see the error in the left side of politics |

There is a flaw in your post so glaring it irks me to no end. There is no right or wrong in politics. Rather, it is the degree of progression one expects. And progression can not be made by leg-shaking in the Oval Office, not passing reforms that would shake up an ailing system. The left-wing seeks to bring out CHANGE in society, while the right-wing wants change with extreme moderation, or no change at all. If you do want to take an offensive stance to left-wing politics, by all means, you'll pick an argument against me, at the very least. |

Left wing politics are socialism and communism (example) and both those ideologies are consisting off oppression, bad welfare, no freedome and injustice. |
