So thanks to the urging of a certain Allura I've decided to share my poetry with you guys. I've posted my favourite haiku and some of the other poems I've written. Please feel free to let me know what you think but try to be constructive :P Five Winter Haiku Field white with snow Flash of red, a silent fox Glances and moves on. Frigid air blowing Ice fog crystals hang, misty A lone bird calls out. Snowflakes touch brown grass Spreading delicate white lace Over the dead ground. An empty tree branch Reaching to the clouded sky Grasps eternity. Sun struggling through cloud Briefly catches a black rock Pale snow melts swiftly. A Raging Conflagration of Pure Energy In the space where nothing breathes The sound of you grew. In the sky of lifeless stars The secret power you hold blossomed. On the top of sinking mountains Your beauty filled every atom. On the infinite fields of ebony The terrible strength of you thundered. You occupy all places Negative and positive space All particles that are, that were, all particles beyond knowledge. There is no place your soul will not touch A raging conflagration of pure energy Each voice that utters your name Invokes your pure ferocity. Angelic Orbit Passing within the orbit Of a falling angel Observing his delicate downward spirals I am struck by his elegance. I ponder his removal from the heavenly realm There has been much strife in that kingdom Over that lovely angel. He drifts, face raised Wings trapped So that he cannot rise The others objected When their heavenly father made him He was too beautiful Too weirdly elegant Those glowing ones could not comprehend His shattered joy His rough edges His halo made of refracted light. That rainbow unsettled them His father had not anticipated their Harsh Cold Rejections Of this special creature. But he too failed to see He’d made a being beyond understanding and It frightened him So now that angel falls Crying to the heavens. Rain, Steam, Speed (for J.M.W. Turner) Rushing onwards into a wash of colour Veil of misty rain obscures detail Pistons driven, steam compressed Headlong through the squall line A wedge of dark metal slicing through luminosity Indistinct shapes merge and forms are suggested A plunging iron blade forcing its way through clouds of multi-faceted light. |
