Footprints, traces of someone being there prior. Signs, lingering smells, and keepsakes, all things left behind from before we had reached that moment and time. To find ones self in another footsteps, to put your feet into the traces left behind, is to walk in there path, to walk in the direction in the manner that they once did. Be it skips, stride, or run we all follow a path of another in some manner, Idols, heroes, and aspired goals, there has always been someone else who has tried it all before, who left behind footprints that you place your feet in. However, you have the power to break that chain, don't put your feet in those footprints, instead make your own, ahead of the game and steal the shoes of the one before, steal his shoes from there feet rips them off, peel them off, tear them whole and with out a second thought beat them with there own shoes! Do not become the person they were but make a new path that can no longer walk! You then take those shoes and not wear them but use them, use them to achieve every goal as you make new footprint a path of your own, leaving nothing but the grim thought of being beaten with the tools of the one who set a path before you, you use those tools for your own means away from the path they have set forth. That is when the cycle breaks, that is when you have achieved true destiny and true power of your life. It was a bright and sunny day in Tully Village, people were out and about enjoying the sunlight doing this and that, trimming their plants, shopping to their hearts content, and even just laughing and smile away with friends. However there was a new person in the village. A young man no older then 18 wear a solid black fur lined jacket. A nameless no body here in this village, he just sat on a bench on the road leading out of town smoking a cig. A few people had approached him only for him to smile and say he was waiting for a friend. The villagefolk were starting to get worried, but just as they were about to confront him as a group the young mand had vanished only leaving the buds of his cigs behind littering around the bench. Vinkheart would be waiting at the entrance to the forest path, he would be still smoking but more so with his hood down unlike he acted in the busy cities, while leaning against a tree. He was waiting for his comrade to join him so they could continue to the said place Vink had been search for. A place he had spent a year of his life putting together the peices elegently and with guile. |

Another bright day. Diaev looked up towards the sky, another cigarette hanging loosely in his lips. He was again instructed to come here, and after last time he was actually rather fearful. Diaev was actually laying back, he wasn't even walking, but by some weird force of nature was still moving forward. He was laying on his hoverboard, and was just flaunting it really. Boy, did he love this thing, he pushed down with his foot softly to keep it moving forward, albeit at walking speed. He wasn't locked in place, his feet weren't in the right position, so he was susceptible to being thrown off. Diaev looked down every now and then, checking he was moving the right way and not heading towards a tree or something similiar to it, no he was pretty dead set on course down the path that was set for him. The Iron Giant thought back on what had happened over the past half a year, it was really a rather large adventure with a very ambitious goal, one that would throw him back into a soiled bedpan. Gross. He was lost in his thoughts for a moment. First, they all met in some secret base, he remembered a lot of people but didn't even remember their names. They had all left after that and everyone but the huge giant got lost. Diaev alone had to deal with a crazy bitch who wanted to kill Vinkheart and children who wanted to do the same, which was rather shameless. After that, which was just a while ago, they met up again with some green-haired chick. They traiend together whilst she was off working, Vinkheart had quickly exhausted himself during the fight, so Diaev took it as a personal win when his companion had used everything up. Then they met with the green-haired chick again. They translated some kind of odd tome and then moved on, where a group of dark mages attacked then all. Diaev heroically managed to take them all on at once to give his companions a chance to get away and Diaev saw a man, dressing in a black fur-lined coat and quickly jumped up and hopped off of his hoverboard, it returning to his neck in the form of dogtags, he moved towards the man-child that was Vinkheart and stood there, crossing his arms. "So what are we going to do today? We gonna sacrifice some kids to the devil? Or are we going to steal one-hundred-and-one dalmations?" Diaev teased, looking as serious as ever. |

Vinkheart would smile upon seeing Diaev, they had come so far already and things had already started to move into place. Upon Diaev reaching him he would giggle lightly at his smart comment but shake his head. " No, nothing so grand. Today we gain the tools and power to bring the shock and awe to our uprising. " Vinkheart would tell Diaev before starting down the path but after a few steps he would pause. " Wait...for it...wait for it " he would say looking behind them toward the village. After a few moments of waiting a scream would be heard and Vinkheart would smile ear to ear, his eyes lighting up. Smoke started to rise from the direction of the village along with the sound of a few gun shots. " Ok, now we can go " he would tell Diaev with a snicker. Continueing down the path Vinkheart wouldn't look at Diaev but just ahead of them, checking for signs. " You see, the major issue with a uprising and such, is being detected and noticed before your time. Thats how the Magic Council has kept ahead for this long, detecting and rooting out any evil and the like. " He would explain to Diaev his smile starting to fade. " However we will attain the tools and powers needed to boost ourselves in a short amount of time, beyond the notice of the Council or the goverment. " Vinkheart would concluded making a bit more sense now on to why this place was so important and why they had to do it unnoticed. |

Diaev rolled his eyes at Vinkheart's comment. He actually would rather do what he had said than gain some poxxy resource that might be there. You could never actually tell whether things like this were legitimate or not, after all, that book he had with him could have easily been some kind of fake he was sold, just imbued with some dark demonic energy or something like that. The great big giant that Diaev was began to follow Vinkheart, somewhat closely down along the path, but as they took a few steps, Vink stopped and announced that they should wait. That couldn't have been good. Suddenly, the Iron Giant heard screams, he turned almost immediately, watching the smoke rose up. A distraction, eh? Was it really neccessary though? Who else would come to some messed up evil place? For all Diaev knew about where they were going, he was going to be sacrificed to the god of steel so that Vinkheart could become a demi-god and cause nothing but anarchy across Fiore, and perhaps even the world. If it came to it though, Diaev would just stab Vinkheart in the face like he did with the guy last time they worked together. Diaev continued to walk alongside Vinkheart, it felt rather ominous as he moved on. It was like the book, he wanted to turn around and walk away but for some reason he kept on moving. He again listened to Vinkheart blabber about why they needed to boost themselves in a short amount of time, which was actually rather reasonable. Though they still needed an entire army to accomplish their goal of crushing the entirety of Fiore and re-instating the power of the monarchy and militarise it. Diaev thought quickly about how they would achieve this, a whole army of knights would be agaisnt them, as well as the guild system. They would have to rely simply on rebels and people with like-minded ideologies and he wasn't too sure how many people wanted to take down the government and the guild system. At this point with this mindframe, Diaev believed these two might as well do it all themselves, but again, that was wishful thinking. If it came to it they'd have to fight wizard saints themselves. He cringed at the thought. Diaev stayed silent. |

As they carried along the omnious feeling set in, nerves and thoughts on end as if they were about to turn around and a giant Wyvern was going to eat their faces! However after walking along for about ten minutes they would finally come along the first sign to get off the path and move along toward the lab. The circularl pointed rocks almost looked like old sun dials however they curved at the top as if twistd by the power of this area. Most people would get goosebumps or feel uneasy however there was only one thing on Vink's mind right now. Getting to the lab and gaining the power he had been working toward to bring a new dawn on Fiore for the better of all. " I brought a few extra clips of ammo for my Deagle, however I warn you now: This place will be guarded possibly filled with the remains of what once was. " he would tell Diaev with a nod as he pulled out a cig and began to light it. As shadows casted onto them both from the now dead tree's darkening everything around them as the dead twisted branches started to block out the sun. The light of Vink's cig would light up his face a little bit, the burning end of his cig seeming to make his eyes sparkle a bit. There was only one more sign left for them to know they had reached the lab. |

The majority of the walk towards the first landmark was rather silent, and awkward. With each step, the ominous feeling began to intensify, it was much like with the meeting with Slenderman, that thing was so strong that even the fearless Diaev wanted to just run, the feeling here was almost exactly the same, except stronger. They came across circular pointed rocks, curved at the top for some reason? Perhaps the pure force of evil that resided in this place? A lump slowly grew in Diaev's throat, if at this range from the cave it could affect the rocks, then what could it do to them when they were inside? If it was so strong they'd just shrivel up or something, right? He'd rather that than have a demon ripping his limbs off whilst he screamed for help. Vinkheart explained the danger of this place, and Diaev rolled his eyes. Great, only two guys taking on this mamoth challenge. This wasn't going to be easy if real demons were there. Diaev could be compared to a B-class mage in strength, but there was no way he could handle a demon. "Great. So do I get a final meal or something?" Diaev asked sarcastically, lighting his own cigarette. |

Vinkheart wouldn't even look at Diaev as he replied however a moment later he would blurt out " I already had mine " Slowly looking to Diaev he would then giggle. Was he joking or dead serious? It realy was impossibel to tell with the insanity that was Vinkheart. As the duo continued into the dead path of doom doom doom dooom doom doom doom doom doom doom there was no going home! There was no turning back now there was no hope for even back up now, for you see, before them was a large cave going down into the ground, as if a fissure in the ground was spewing forth this unsettling feeling. Vinkheart would smile ear to ear and with out even pausing would start walking down into the fissure to the cave. The cave was dark but dry, there was no movement ahead of them but there was also to say the least from what one could see at the entrance no turns in the cave. Vinkheart would pause in the fissure at the entrance of the actual cave. It being so dark he would turn toward Diaev to see if he had any remedy for this darkness before they entered. |

The Iron Giant could only look at Vinkheart with confusion. Was he being serious right now, or was he joking? You could have interpreted many ways, the giggle afterwards could show his joking side, but he was so damn serious when he said it! Freud would have a field day trying to get into this guy's mind! They kept on moving, and the uneasiness slowly grew upon Diaev, the last meal he had was some crappy canned food! He couldn't die with such crappy food in him! No, he should have had some delicious lobster, no, maybe some oysters, or a whole pig to himself. God, why did he feel so uneasy? This wasn't somewhere humans were meant to go, he knew that for sure. The demon that was the giant usually could walk into this place without even a sense of danger, cutting down everything in his way, but right now all he wanted to do was turn around and walk away. How the hell could Vinkheart be totally fine walking up to this place? It was messed up! Did this guy have no soul or something? The energy from this place was absolutely crazy, most people would turn and run as quickly as they could. Diaev glanced at Vinkheart, and then took a quick breath, flicking away his cigarette, maybe one of his last. The fearless man looked upon the cave, taking a gulp, he walked on in with Vinkheart, there was an absence of light and the giant had a struggle to stop his legs shaking. The Iron Giant flipped a switch on his belt, turning on a torch under the buckle, providing some light for them. The Iron Giant pulled out his sword and walked in slowly, moving his hips to move the rays of light, just to check what was happening around them. Anything could come out at them at any time. They had to be very wary. "If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me by the way." Diaev said, he was actually serious, if Vinkheart left him to die he'd kill that little fucker before he even thought about it. One of those situations would likely happen here. Death was in the air. |

As Diaev switched on a light on his belt, light was given to the darkness as the shadows was casted away. At the end of a short cave passage way would be a metalic door seeming to be wielded shut, however if it being wielded shut from the outside didn't say unwelcome the few skeletons in front of it that seem to be intangeled into the ground itself would be a surely unwelcoming doormat. Tree roots would stick out from the cave walls near the top of the cave despite the inside of the cave being as dry as a desert. Vinkheart would smirk lightly at Diaev, smirking something Vinkheart rarely did. " I assure you Mr.Iron, I have zero will or wish to have you expire here. You are by far worth to much to me as a comrade and as a member of the uprising " He would tell him in a calm voice, but it would still surely be hard to take him serious with his silver snake tongue of guile. Before the two could advance however something would shift in the cave infront of them, a moment later one of the tree roots sticking out form the cieling would drop down breaking into two bits on the cave floor. They didn't stop moving however as they both spun in a circle for a moment like a creepy horror lacrima movie. Before taking form as the wood changed. Spoiler: click to toggle Charging at the two would be two wooden demons standing a good 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Vinkheart would pullforth his pistol and begin to aim between them firing his first shot a explosive armor piercing shot they would push them a bit apart and off balance, a perfect set up for Diaev to pick one off. |

Diaev felt very uneasy walking in, tree roots pushing out of the rock, somehow still alive though there was barely any sign of moisture, why they chose to nest here was naught but a mystery. When he focused on the end of the small cavern, a large metallic door at the end was revealed by his torch, surrounded by a few skeletons, caught up in web or dust or whatever it damn was. Then Vinkheart began talking, the echo send a shiver down his spine, he totally wasn't being serious, the lieing bastard was obviously going to leave Diaev to rot if it came to their failure, which in all honesty was pissing him off, he felt used. Though Diaev was here, he still didn't fully trust Vinkheart, how could he? He tricked a girl into translating a diary, and then likely had her killed afterwards, which is the most likely outcome, come on, this is Vinkheart we're talking about. As they moved closer, Diaev slowly readied his sword. Suddenly, as if out of no where, the tree roots suddenly went over some kind of metamorphosis, and slowly transformed into what appeared to be demonic treants. Well this was just absolutely brilliant wasn't it? They weren't big by any means, but they were thick, it would take a good hard swing to get all of the way through them, but considering they were trees, it were probably best they cut them in half. Vinkheart suddenly shot an explosive round between to two, an opportunity for Diaev opened. He sprinted towards them, skidding when he got in range and went for one hard swing at the mid section of the treant on the right, aiming to cut through it's midsection, cutting it into two pieces. If Diaev succeeded, he would carry on with the swing, turning in the swing to face the treant on the left, just so he could anticipate its attack. |
