The Ace of Tartaros

The time had finally come, Ryo had gathered and recruited a good amount of mages together here in Tartaros and become quite powerful in his own aspect but there was one thing he still neded to do to become a great mage. He had to be apart of a great team in his guild! Having slipped index cards requesting his teammates to meet him at the guild hall at a certain time The Wildfire of Tartaros awaited calmly with out any booze for once in the guild hall. He had all his equipment ready and a mission picked out for the first time he and his friends would offically take as a team, and hopefully laying way for the start of the greatest team Tartaros had ever seen!

The mission would be a easy one for the team to do, even more so with Ryo's experince and reputation in the city. He had landed this easy job by looking thru the guild request book for some time along with having done a job for a friend of the requester before. The job was to track down the owner of a shipping company that fired the requester and toss his place. Paint the walls, messing furniture up, and eating all his food would suffice, and with four people it would go off with out a hitch, however...finding the place in the busy city of coreopsis and not destroying anything while avoiding any detection or getting arrested would be the trick!

Oberon was not expecting anything big as he walked along the streets of the tourist filled Coreopsis. to be honest had just come back from working out at the gym when he noticed the small notecard in his gym bag. At first he really didn't think anything of it, he had plenty of note cards to remind himself of things to do these days; especially when it came to guild related things and having to figure people out. Still, the black winged demon of Tartaros felt obligated to look at that one notecard for no large reason except that it might amuse him. Amuse it did however as its words caused a large grin to come to his face, one that was filled with arrogance and excitement. Someone wanted to meet him at the guild hall? Oberon was rather surprised in a good way, usually no one ever tried to talk too him outside of the guild or when he wasn't on a mission. Come to think of it, no one really tried to talk to him that much at all! He thought to himself as he recollected his thoughts as he walked through the winding streets of the city. He cobblestone walkways clicked against his sandals as he wore a black version of his usual clothing with its usual gold like trimmings. As usual his wings were hidden by the clothing fabric although it caused a slight lump on his back when he tried to move them in its confined space. The black winged demon of Tartaros turned the corner and watched with a mild interest at the people who walked on past him, whatever, its not like he was in the mood to fight at the moment. Instead he kept a stay pace as he made his way to the remote guild which floated on the edge of Coreopsis by itself, Oberon grinned, Tartaros felt like a real home to him despite not fitting in well with its occupants, it was more of a home to him then he would ever admit to the likes of Sinjin or Tomoru, those maybe Ryo but then again he had only met the guy once!

Oberon whistled to himself as he walked on the bridge connecting the small guild island to Coreopsis as the sound of foot on wood could be heard from whoever was inside of the building. Still, it was a bit of a mystery as too why the heck someone would have wanted too meet him at the guild though. Did they want to mess with him? Oberon thought, hesitating as he reached out too grab the handle to the door of his beloved home. They were dark mages after all, its not like they had called him here to watch the national magic games right? He thought as he looked uneasily at the handle. Oberon sighed, "might as well shank myself in the back now" he muttered before pushing one of the two giant doors to the guild open and walking inside.

Oberon felt naked in here despite being clothed. It still felt as though he hadn't been accepted as part of the guild...he would show them...he would show them all! He thought, slightly tempted to throw a glass at the closest member. However instead he took a deep breath and muttered too himself some more, "easy now Oby, just find Ryo" he said to himself, as it was in fact Ryo who had given him the index card, it literally said to meet Ryo at the guild hall. So with a purpose now, he looked around until he found the head of hair that he was looking for, the one which was red all over and more deadly then the rest of the mages his rank. Trying not to make eye contact the black winged demon walked over silently and looked at him with a nod, keep it professional now Oby, don't want to go soft now do we? Oberon thought to himself before speaking, "Yo" plainly...damn what was Yo! Where did that come from! Goddamit! Still this did not stop him from speaking, "you index carded?" Oberon said raising an eyebrow and raising said index card in front of him waiting for a response. What did Ryo want?

He stared at the ceiling of that small rented room. He had not been to the guild as of late when he should have. How was that possible? Wasn’t he always riled up and eager to be there when Ryo was about? Shouldn’t he be making progress and training his life away to be the strongest? And yet, he was just lying there since four in the morning of when he woke up from a deep sleep. No, it wasn’t even a deep sleep as he could feel the movements of his blood along his vein, the essence of a bloodlust that reeked throughout his body but only he could really feel. And still, he was just lying, not so comfortably after falling off the bed, his head and back to the cold surface of the floor that stung against the warm and sensitive flesh of his nape, while leaving his leg hanging from the edge of the bed. It was an odd morning and the more he waited and did nothing the closer it would be to noon, then to afternoon, and god knows to the evening. But clutched to his hand was an index card, where words are left unreadable from an observer’s eye as his fingers had made spying on the item quite difficult.

It took a while before the blood mage had finally gotten himself up. Blood mage? As he changed into a sleeveless jacket to rightfully show off his symbols on both shoulder, he looked at himself in the mirror before leaving. Strange how his magic had evolved and yet he still considered himself a blood mage. Perhaps, by technicality, he still was. And he wiped a smirk off his face as he went out from the rented room, not by conventional means as through the door, but rather, through the window, jumping out and landing on the roof. Boots digging unto the brick tied roof, he stood up and stretched his limbs before taking a good look at the magnificent city that is of Coreopsis. He grinned at the sight of a new day, completely forgetting that it was by his own lethargic decision that he had missed out about half of it already. But never mind that, he was off to the guildhall. He ran across the roof’s edge and jump to the next, making his way across the city like he had a private road all to himself.

By the time he had arrived in Tartaros’ Guildhall, he was already warmed up. He had managed to awaken his dormant blood and muscles, making him ready for a day of adventure, or misadventure perhaps? He ran into the guildhall, sliding just as the doors of the hall had opened briefly, and skidding along the floor as he looked about him. Some of the usual drunks gave him an odd look before lowering their head getting back to business of drinking their liquor. He had managed to become a frequent face in the guild, after all the chores and the fight he started before, he was more than welcome to dash around and do nonsensical things so long they weren’t of great hindrance that could send Vile up his throat and be thrown to detention with the trash bags. In any case, he had found what he was searching not too long after. The redhead was talking to Oberon and Sinjin rushed towards them, yelling, “Ryo! Where’s my taiyaki?” How quaint that his greeting was such. “You promised to get me some after you burned the taiyaki stand the other day.” He continued until he skid from the run to settle at both Ryo and Oberon’s side. At that, he looked at the raven haired mage and then back to Ryo. “Hmmm? Is this about the card? Hehehe, coz I kinda forgot the card back at the room.” He said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. Oh how strange and yet so casual and normal for him to greet the redhead as such.

For the last several days, San had spent his time in a small forest quite a bit of a distance away from Coreopsis and civilization as a whole. It was more than a personal preference; his magic dictated that he spent what free time he could in such, meditating in the midst of the peace that only staying in the untamed areas could provide. As such, he himself had not actually received the index cards sent by Ryo - but he might as well have had. Once more, the sprites within him were calling out, perhaps attracted to the other mage's call of summons; not one to defy his source of existance, San had set out yesterday, though he would only now arrive at the entrance of Tartaros.

Walking sluggishly, with ungainly steps and at a zombie-like speed, the undead summoner had absolutely no idea what was awaiting him when he entered through the gates, into the guild hall itself. As fitted his nature, he instinctively shuffled to the side, soon ending up hiding in the crowd of normal rowdy members, sitting at a table alone - he could see Ryo from here, and he was certain the other man could see him just as easily. To wait is to learn; I will be noticed, and the purpose of whatever force it was bringing me here will reveal itself, he thought, before looking around with an emotionless face - he was simply awaiting further actions.

Ryo look to Oberon as he greeted him with a simple 'yo' Ryo would give him the simple head nod turning his body slightly toward Oberon. A moment later he would raise his index card Ryo had sent and inquire about it. A smirk would dawn on Ryo's face however just as he openned his mouth to explain the reason for the index card, Sinjin made his entrance with a sliding grace only to hault a good ten feet inside the guild hall. Once Sinjin made his way over to Ryo blaming him for destroying something he didn't remember but didn't doubt Ryo would stand up patting them path on the back as he turned toward the guild hall, his back against the bar as he scanned the area. " About those cards..." he would say seeming to trail off as he looked around the guild searching for someone or something it seemed.

Finally finding his target he would grab both of there shirts and pull them along like they both were pillows and made his way to the table San was at. Letting them go as he got to the table he would sit across from San and smile at the undead man. " Afternoon there San. " he would tell the undead man. Pulling forth the request form from his yukata he would place it in the middle of the table. I asked all of you to be here to invite you to join my team! " he would annouce only to hear a few other guild member spit booze up and turn toward Ryo's table in disbelief.

" Its been a bit since Tartaros had a active request team, so I'm putting one together, ya we all can do requests on our own, but somethings are better as a team and more fun. " Ryo would explain to the three other men with a excited tone in his voice. " We will be calling this team: The Wrecking Crew or The Wreckers, for short. I've already gotten Vile's permission and I can't think of any other guildies I'd rather form a team with then you all. " he would tell them with a smirk. Ryo trying his best to convince them to join however talking and social skills weren't exactly his thing but he was hoping he had talked them into it.

The job poster on the table if anyone bothered to read it while Ryo was telling them surely shocking news would explain a job were they would have to mess up a place of some big merchant company that fired a disgruntled employee. IT obviously would be some where in Coreopsis however anyone who had scanned the requests books as of late knew this job had been on hold, meaning Ryo had gained some pull with requets and could line up good jobs at his choose that were D and C-rank due to his reputation and prestige in the guild, it was all up to see how the others reacted now.

Oberon frowned, he was not expecting a crowd to show up here today, in fact he was expecting that he would he here alone to be honest! He thought as he looked around at the familiar faces he could spot. In front of him was Ryo, the only guy in the guild he was REALLY scared of getting in a fight with. On his side was the blond youth Sinjin, to be honest the mage of Tartaros harbored no real anger at the blood mage despite his attempt to get him killed when he and San pushed him off a cliff for Vile's little side trip. Obeorn growled, he remembered that trip all too well, not only because it was the first time he had ever gone in the ocean, but it was also the first time he was on an island; as in surrounded by water island. He thought to himself angrily clenching his fists while attempting to keep a relaxed look on his face, you wouldn't notice all too well if you looked at it; but if you saw his fists clench you might see a somewhat different story. The black winged demon found his rage easible though, any smart alec comments however and he might just be 'induced' into a little spat. He thought with a slight grin at the prospect of fighting someone worthy, or even better, smashing a knight into the dust with his power. However before Oberon could say anything the fiery red head charged of towards a shrubbery which the black wing demon ahd not noticed earlier and revealed him.

That guy. Oberon thought with mixed reactions, it was impressive how he stayed out of his field of vision, however it was also incredibly creepy that he did it in the first place. The mage of Tartaros thoughts his wings pressed agains the back of his clothes. Damn, he wanted to stretch them bad, the black wings on his back got cramped if he kept them concealed for too long. However Oberon would wait, he was not about to flaunt his additional appendages with the whole guild to see. Oberon thought as he crossed his arms and leaned on one foot casually, "come on man whats this all about-?" Obeorn started only too be stopped by Ryo announcing that he was inviting him, San, and Sinjin to be a part of his team! Oberon felt his jaw drop slightly in surprise as his eyes widened, time seemed to slow a bit as the rest of the guild as well turned their attention to the fiery red head, apparently they didn't have the foggiest idea this was happening either. Obeorn thought as he looked around a bit at them. The black winged demon was at a loss of words to be honest, although if you asked him what it felt like he would probably say something arrogant and cocky like the ready shoot aim type of guy he was most of the time. However the true matter of it was that he really didn't know what to say! He had never been asked to join a team before! Much less ask to join anything!

Even though Ryo said that they could still do individual mission requests by themselves Oberon was not sure he wanted to join at all now that the initial shock and awe phase of the moment had passed. It was one of those times when he had to review the facts about himself, he didn't work well in teams, his magic was meant to destroy shit, and honestly he felt as though he would only be slowing them all down! He thought living up to one of his creeds 'a dark mage should be true to himself and what he wants, including what he is willing to do to get it', however the black winged demon did have a thing for power and getting stronger after all. Oberon thought a bit before nodiing in response and closing his eyes. It was one of those make or break moments, his heart and head told him no and yet...

"SURE!"

Oberon said a little too loudly for it to sound casual, where did that come from! He thought hastily to himself as he panicked, he was a loner! Why would he be joining a team then! Oberon thought as his sudden reaction surprised even him as he felt like he wanted to slap himself silly for breaking his own words. Oh well, might as well do it eh? he thought to himself smiling slightly... and yet he had to ask.

"Why choose me though? I'm barely a part of the guild after all, i would have thought someone like Sion or Soul would be better for ya" he asked, remembering that those were two names which had been mentioned frequently as well as Ryo and Sinjin, they sounded stronger then him that was for sure form what he heard, and yet Obeorn hated himself for thinking that, HE WAS THE STRONGEST! HE WOULD CRUSH ALL WHO STAND IN HIS WAY! Obeorn couldn't help himself, he let out an evil laugh, "Mwahahaaha!" quickly before catching himself and stoping his outbursts by stepping back suddenly..."yeah I'm in" Oberon said finally, he really didn't care what the mission was, as long as he got payed and got to trash something it was fine by him.

Sinjin made a slight pout when Ryo went over to locate the other guy for the team. It was like he was deliberately forgetting about the taiyaki incident. Oh well, it was to be half expected anyway, so he simply didn’t force the issue though he would rather see how he could get Ryo to spice up once in a while and out of annoyance and not excitement. Funny how he kept hearing about stories about Ryo being such a dangerous person when mad when all the time he could only see Ryo as cheery as bird, if not even playful as a pup. But hey, who was he to complain of his luck if he didn’t have to see the other in such a heated way. And he side glanced at Oberon and flashed a smile before following suit as they found their fourth member as it seemed. Who would have thought that it was San? Well, the guy did seem quite mysterious from back when they first met and Sinjin could only chuckle as he remembered his rather enthusiastic greeting back then. Oh how his zuppashi was itching to be let out again and throw a shockwave or two.

In any case, he listened as Ryo talked about what was going on while he sat by the table and read what was written on the paper before them. It was going to be an interesting job though he also figured that Ryo would have been able to do it by himself with no problem but as to why he needed a team to come along was beyond his comprehension. Nevertheless, to finally be in a team with his idolized redhead was something to look forward too. But the moment was disrupted when Oberon had shot out into an outburst of excitement as well and he laughed at the other. “You’re lively as usual, Tobleron.” He teased, looking up from the job request and then to San. “So, I suppose we’ll finally be in the team together without having to throw blows here and there, huh? I do miss the island fun we had.” He then cracked his knuckles as he turned to face Ryo with that silly grin on his face, and trust that it would be best to find Sinjin with such a grin then nothing at all since he was cuter that way, if not more… sane. “I like the sound of it, Ryo-aniki.”

From the way he said it, it was almost like he was taking up an invisible challenge that required him to bring out his full power. But then again, Sinjin was quite known for being unexpected, both in his language and his action. So it could mean something while being something else. One thing was true, when he meant that last statement, he meant being with the team for it meant that future missions and whatnot will mean he’d have to accompany the guild’s ace. So long easy days and hello to real life of being a Tartaros mage. That was, if Ryo was willing to bring them along the ride in tougher and albeit deadlier missions.

"And the same to you, Ryo," San habitually replied, his tone still emotionless and dead as ever; his eyes, though hidden by the glasses, glanced around the formidable red-heairedman to see the duo he had met once - and he had hoped, only once. The loudest black shadow in the world, and most violent red flame in the world? The sprites are already screeching against them...Master Yong will be itching for war, he dryly thought whilst reminiscing about their experience on Rosalie Island - not exactly a fond memory, for him. It would appear that his sprites weren't any less agitated than he was; upon their coming near him, the tiny spirits threatened to pour out of him in a demonstration of wrath, and it took considerable willpower just to keep them contained. He kept himself emotionless as always, though, and it would take only those with a powerful magic-sensing ability to detect any difference in his mood.

His thought's, and the agitation of the sprites, were quickly dismissed with Ryo's words. The first thing on his mind - curiosity. "What is a request team for the purpose of?" he asked in his monotone voice, ignoring the loud remarks of Oberon; he was far too certain there would be only more disruptive noise coming from him as time progressed. "To be precise - what is the purpose of this, and what sort of binding parts or the like are there, concerning entering such a group?" The last thing he wanted was to get way in over his head, what with the prior tacit promise he had made on his 'deathbed', granting him renewed life for an unceasing task of guarding the land. 'Wreckers', he said? If the task is to wreck the Monastery, I cannot help save stand in their way...though I doubt any of them even know of its existence. It may simply be better for me to join, keeping an eye out just in case.

Hm. So many and so wide were the eyes focused on the quartet around the table now, that San could practically feel heat emanating from them, so intense were the gazes. "Is there not...a more private place, for a matter such as this to be discussed?" he muttered, as sprites began to fly out of his robes, slowly forming a shimmering obstruction between him and the people behind him, blocking him from their gazes. "And is this the purpose for your calling me here- You, or someone else, summoned for me only very recently, did you not?"

As Ryo explained the team it seemed Oberon and San were both confused by the idea and why Ryo would pick them. It wasn't suprising however being that San was still fresh to the guild and Oberon hadn't mingled much with the guild, according to rumor. Smirking as Sinjin said he was all in, atleast he had one for sure team member.

Turning to Oberon he would address his question on why him. " Well your magic is quite diverse and I enjoyed the chat we had in Era, you over all are someone I'd like to get to know more and have on my team. Its not a matter of power....Thou yes Sion and Soul are strong long time members like myself...Sion is teamed up with Tormoru, and Soul........I cant work with Soul " he would say with a dreadful look on his face as he looked away grinding his teeth abit as he remember the one time they did work together only for him to have to do most the work due to Soul napping and just watching him when they destroyed the Blue Peasus Mansion.

Turning to San he would begin to address his many questions, that was to be expected from a new member in the guild. " Well being that we are apart of a team we can get more challenging requests that pay more jewels and gain you more reputation. This also means there is more danger or chance of stumbling upon strong magical items of the stort. " He would tell San, basicly telling him that some requests require teams due to the danger or task needed to be done, along with the idea he knew would snag San that was magical items and the like. He would then continue to San's next question. " There is nothing persay binding you are allowed to leave at any time you wish...just don't expect to be invited back to the team however...this is aimed to be a rise thru the ranks and jewels. I am to make us the top team in Tartaros! " Ryo would say looking at them all for a moment with a smile.

" Lastly San, I was me who summoned it...for this reason. I hope I didn't bother you, however " he would say and point to the request poster that was on the table. " I picked a request out for us, if you are all willing to join the team. " Ryo would explain to them with a bit of a worried look in his eyes as he knew he wasn't great at explaining things or talking to other people but hoped they would join him and his team.

Oberon raised an eyebrow as Ryo went on about why he had chosen him and San to be a part of his team the 'Wreckers' an interesting name but it was straightforward enough for him and hey, if it has the word wreck in the name you know Oberon was gonna be doing just that faster then you could say Eisenhower. However seeing as how Oberon was both to proud and too goddam lazy to even look at the request sheet he just went on his new teammates better judgement that eh had picked an adequate one for them all as Oberon while he did like action was beginning to get annoyed by all the un expected shit that happened to him ya know? His first mission he had stumbled onto a bank robbery by himself and even took them all down with a portion of the funds! He thought laughing inwardly to himself as his unwavering face yielded no emotion besides that of a bored anxious and rather perverted young man that was Obeorn Led Zepplin. Why his most resent mission was not in any city, guess just guess, it was in the middle of a goddamn mountain in a snowstorm where he had to fight the evil twin of frosty the snowman! He thought angrily with a hint of nostalgia while he gave a slightly surprised expression too what it was that Ryo said, he claimed he'd like to get to know him better...no homo, but what really surprised him was that it wasn't all about power and skill too him! But it was just so so illogical! Why choose him and San when he could have an army if he wanted! Oberon thought, it went against every process of logic he really had but then again sometimes life wasn't about logic right?

However his puzzler had gotten sore and instead turned too somewhat anger and jealousy when he heard Ryo mention that Tomoru had decided to form a team with Sion. That lady, he thought with a slight snarl on his face, they had a complicated relationship too say in the least he sure as hell wasn't going to lose their bet too her though! Oberon thought, even more determined to become a B class mage then before. Although why the red haired mage of Tartaros couldn't work with Soul was another mystery, for a later time however as right now Obeorn would have much rather preferred to be at a concert or club somewhere dancing and having fun then being here, then again the black winged demon tended to like being anywhere else then where he currently was. Oberon shrugged and cleared his throat as he talked too himself, "hrm.... Oberon plus team equals power which equals faster way to destroy the government...why not" he said quietly too himself, after a while of standing and listening it sometimes felt as though you forgot to speak enough, much less sing and play rocking guitar like Obeorn could these days, he thought with a grin wide enough to match a watermelon, a very sadistic and slightly silly water mellon who ahd wings and turned into a flaming demon watermelon who also had wings.

However Oberon was no watermelon, nor was he yellow as some people called him. Said man thought with a slight approving nod while Ryo went on about 'summoning' San. pfft silly Ryo! Your not psychic...is he? Oberon thought slightly nervous as he glanced out of the corner of his eye at the red head who was talking about how being in a team was a good gig and that if any of them left... they probably weren't going to get back in. Oberon thought as he pondered it all with a slight stare, he didn't seem all that fazed as he had already sure as hell decided he was going too join! Epic team up for the wing suckahs. Obeorn shrugged and sighed, "well if were having an epic team up for the win i might as well know what I'm signing my soul away too" he said walking too the table and looking down at the request sheet that was on the table, "so we go...trash this guys house...and get paid for it?" Oberon asked a little skeptical about the whole thing and looking back at Ryo for more details. Oberon could get down with trashing some guys house, no doubt, but he did not like going easy, it was all the way or the highway; except when it came to women that was for sure, Oberon thought as he rubbed his check where he had been slapped a while back by a girl who stood him up...haters gonna hate.
