Mission Details A floating city in the sky is and will continue to be one of the greatest wonders in the nation of Fiore. Especially with a brilliant sunlight shining upon the great place, travelers from all over the nation to experience romance, self-redemption and luxury. For one visitor in particular, Nana Ui of the Fairy Tail guild had taken the opportunity to help out at a bakery shop for a mission. Though, one thing seem partially strange - the guild leader of Fairy Tail had conversed with the guild leader of Quatro Cerberus before she had departed for Coreopsis. According to them, there was a wizard within the Cerberus guild that needed to accomplish some missions while making some new friends. Nana wasn't disappointed or worried at all; in fact, she was quite excited to meet someone new. After all, it was this very city that the summoner had met her boyfriend, Larkin Falzo. Oh, how she missed him dearly already. He must have been quite busy with all of his work in the guild! "Bbuing Bbuing Chuu~♥ Nana!" a voice cried out in the distance. Immediately, the summoner turned her head around to see that a floating being was flying straight towards her at an accelerating rate. Its eyes glaring at her with an angry expression but it was still too adorable to take. Not a single moment later the being had crashed into Nana's head, causing both the summoner and the being to scream out a little in pain while rubbing their heads a little. "Nana! You meanie-boo-beenie! How could you leave me all alone like that back there?" Carina said as she held a small lollipop within her hands. "Ah, I'm so sorry! I thought you were following me the entire time, how was I to know you went and got a lollipop?" "Well... you were walking and someone was giving out free lollipops and... wah! Don't ever leave me again!" "Don't worry about it. Just stay with me and everything will be okay!" The bond between the spirit of the keel and the celestial summoner was like mother and daughter. Carina was like a growing child who couldn't stand to be away from her mother, but often became distracted and wandered off mindlessly without any clue as to where she was going. Nana, on the other hand, was like the caring mother who had some careless moments due to the fact that she had let the adorable little spirit escape her sight. Now that they were reunited once again, they would soon be able to return to the magical journey of finding this bakery shop. Before proceeding, Carina would sit upon the summoner's head, with her feet sticking out as she ate her lollipop joyfully and full of enthusiasm. The spirit's weight was a little heavy on her head, but Nana believed that she would be able to endure it for a short period of time. She would also keep to herself that her spirit was slowly gaining weight, though that was normal for growing spirits. Navigating through the city of Coreopsis wasn't particularly a facile task considering as she had only visited the city once. It was still early within the morning and the citizens of the city were beginning to wake up. The streets were still quite empty, shops had barely begun to open up and whenever one would see a couple or a person walk down the roads, they would be yawning. Fortunately, Nana was one of those people who loved to sleep early and wake up next morning with a wonderful source of energy flowing through her. Rest is always important! After a few minutes of walking, thoughts of finding this bakery shop within a large city almost seemed impossible. There were far too many stores to even look at, all of which had similarities. It was time to resort to her last option: ask a civilian if they knew where the shop was. And with enough luck, she would find one. "Excuse me, I'm new to the city and I think I'm lost right now. Would you happen to know a place called 'Alice's Palace?'" Nana asked a young gentleman around the same age as her. He looked at her with and blushed a little bit, and began to speak. "Uh... yeah. It's that weird haunted shop that nobody ever really goes to anymore. Apparently it's cursed or something. If you just go down the street and turn right then take a left you'll see an enormous building shaped like a palace but is actually a bakery shop." "Thank you! Have a great day!" Following the kind man's directions, Nana had walked down the streets happily in her regular outfit - a white jacket with black shorts and sneakers. Her main accessory: a celestial spirit resting upon her head! When she had finally reached the destination, she was quite surprised and amazed to see a grand shop in front of her eyes. It was definitely built and shaped like a palace - the texture of the walls felt like it would legitimately be a true castle. White paint covered the walls and and its regal appearance made Nana feel as though she was about to become royalty. Large windows on either side of large wooden doors displayed a large gallery of delicious sweets and pastries. Paradise lied within. It was truly difficult to believe that a place like this was decreasing in business. Gathering enough courage, she grabbed a metal piece on the door and knocked. Hopefully, the owner would be awake at this time. Edited by Nana, Dec 26 2011, 11:19 PM.

Taokaka had once again manage to stumble into a city that she had no business being in. Taokaka swung her pawed arms around, swaying to a tune that wasn't there. People she passed had the same few reactions: Fear of her shadowed face with red eyes and sharp teeth, Curiosity of her odd feline qualities, or just stared not sure what to say or think. None of this bothered her, as it was the norm for her these days. Taokaka merely walked along smiling and still swaying, following some invisible path as if she knew where she was going. Taokaka had never even been to Coreopsis before, yet she had this weird sense of where she was going. To Taokaka, this place was nothing but buildings and people who were not interesting to her. Taokaka wasn't a big fan of big cities to begin with, and now no one would talk to her, which made this even worse. Taokaka was lost in thought, when she felt a tug on her tail. Taokaka's reaction to such things, is NEVER positive. In the same instant her tail was touched, Taokaka had her claws extended and mouth full of teeth open, ready to shred the poor soul who dared touch her tail. "MRRRREEEOWWWW...who pulled my tail nya?" She growled, as she looked down to see the small child. What happened next made even Taokaka feel bad. The poor boy has all but wet himself, as he was reduced to tears and sniffling. MOOOOOOMMMYYYYY, SHE IS GOING TO EAT MEEEEE!!! The boy screamed as he ran towards his mother. The mother of the child glared at Taokaka, who in response shrugged and continued on. It didn't take long for Taokaka's main weakness to set in. Hunger. Taokaka's stomach could probably be heard a mile away. In fact, if the boy had heard her stomach instead, he would have been more scared of that, than her claws and teeth. Taokaka walked slower now, holding her paws over her stomach. "I'm so hungry nya....neeeeed fooooood....MEAT...." Of course, she had no idea where she was going to even get food. She was merely walking, and now hoping she found nourishment. As she stumbled around now, she noticed a girl with a strange creature on her head. Not only did it look like it could be eaten, it also carried a lollipop. Taokaka's eyes widened, and her goal was capture that creature. Taokaka crouched down to the ground, and crawl on all fours, walking like a cat. She was going to follow the lady until they stopped so she could have her meal. She kept her eye on her food, ready to enjoy it! The lady had stopped in front of a huge castle looking building. The building itself didn't interest her, as her eyes were still trained on the creature. Taokaka silently snuck up on it, like the cat she was, and attempted to grab the little thing right off her head. At the last moment, the lady reached forward to knock on the door. Taokaka normally would have just adjusted and grabbed the thing anyways, but for some reason she just fell forward, bumping into the lady in front of her. If the lady didn't move, Taokaka would just fall into her. Taokaka always found herself in such strange situations. |

Three loud sounds of knocking were heard as Nana had banged the metal bar against the door. She waited for a few seconds, not hearing any form of response from within the building. Was it possible that the door was too thick and wouldn't allow the summoner to hear anything? It was either that or the they simply hadn't arrived yet. Though all of a sudden, something had crashed into Nana's bare legs, causing her to tumble a little bit to the left. Her legs moved erratically, trying to find a proper balance on the road. Carina, on the other hand, was quite surprised at the sudden crash and had flown off into the air, observing everything from the sky. But, it would not last for long as an angry expression had appeared on her adorable little face! Strengthening its muscles within its tiny little body, it flew towards the strange feline creature and knocked it on its head with the small lollipop, then flew away. "What's wrong with you, you big meanie-boo-beenie!" "Don't worry about it, Carrie-chan! Is everyone alright? Is anybody hurt?" Nana managed to find her balance and looked at the front of the bakery shop to find that a strange girl, oddly resembling a cat. It was quite difficult to see her face as her enormous costume-like-sweater was covering it. This was most definitely a strange situation - it's not everyday that one gets the opportunity to be crashed into by a feline looking girl. Like the kind person Nana was, she went towards the girl and raised out her hand to help the girl up. The moment she lent out her hand, she had remembered something her guild master had told her. It went something along the lines of the mission partner dressing quite strange, having abnormal human characteristics of an animal. Also, they had mentioned that she would quite obvious, so there would be no need for pictures. This strange girl definitely fit all of the requirements, but could she really be her...? "Excuse me, would you happen to be from Quatro Cerberus doing a mission?" Suddenly, the door to Alice's Palace had swung right open, revealing a beautiful woman at the door. She was dressed in an elegant waitress costume, with a short black outfit with a white apron and headband. Large white collars appeared at the end of her sleeves and a black collar wrapped around her neck gently. Long white socks with orange stripes warmed up her legs while high brown leather boots covered the majority of the socks. All of these components of her outfit seemed to have complimented her luxurious long blonde hair and light blue eyes. The woman left the bakery, bowing to both Nana and the strange feline cat. A clipboard lied within her right hand, with piece of paper. She glanced down at the piece of paper, then glanced back up again to look at the strange pair. Was this Alice and her palace, or was it simply a worker? Questions were raised, but none too serious. Mysterious Lady! "Hello and welcome to Alice's Palace! I am Alice, and I believe you are Nana Ui from Fairy Tail and Taokaka from Quatro Cerberus? Please, come inside and we will discuss the details of your mission in greater detail." "It's nice to meet you, Alice! I can't wait to get started - by the way, the design of the bakery is absolutely beautiful." Walking inside the bakery was literally like walking inside a real palace. The entire theme of the bakery was castle-inspired, from the floors with stone like tiles and the walls with cement like walls and the tables having an old wooden feeling. The lighting of the building was provided by chandeliers ran by light lachrymas - it was almost as if Nana had just entered a fairy tale world. Alice guided the two to the large counter, where the staff would do their cashier business. Behind the counter connected the kitchen, where the chefs would spend every waking moment baking delicious goodness for their customers. In the far back were a flight of stairs that lead to the second floor, it seemed as though this business was once quite prosperous. Alice sat down at the table and looked at them with a serious expression. "Let's get down to business, shall we?" |

Falling over from such little things wasn't something she ever did thanks to her feline reflexes but apparently fate had it in for her to fall and fail completely. She was going to make sure she didn't make this a habit. The last thing the world needed was a cat who fell down all the time. Before she even could look around to see what the result of the fall was, she felt something hit her on the head. Not only did the poor cat fall over, it also was hit with something. It didn't hurt her, but she sure did feel it, and wondered just what in the world did she cause. Her hunger had been reason this was happening, and she needed to learn how to have more self discipline. Taokaka would never be able to do that. Taokaka looked up, after hearing a a cute voice, apparently coming from above her. What Taokaka saw was none other than the creature she wanted to eat. "My foooood! Hey you little thingy, come down here so i can eat you" Taokaka growled and stopped herself from leaping up to catch the flying meat, because the lady she had hit held her hand out to her, apparently wanting to help her up. Taokaka took the ladies hand and was pulled back up, and she stood in front of her crash victim. The first thing Taokaka noticed was her pretty pink hair. Taokaka stared and started thinking about cotton candy. Food was always on that cats mind. The lady was quite pretty which Taokaka admired. She had just registered that she was being talked to, since her brain was on vacation as usual. "Nya? Mission? OH MEOW! That's right! Tao was supposed to be doing a mission here. Tao is a bad kitty. Hello Pretty Pink Lady, my name is Taokaka! Nice to meet mew" Taokaka smiled wide, quite happy that she was reminded of her work here. Taokaka was always letting things slip her mind. She even had forgotten that she was to work with another person. yet again her brain started rambling off to herself, distracting her yet again. Luckily, for Nana's sake, The doors had opened, bringing Taokaka's attention back. Another pretty lady had appeared, this time with blonde hair, much like Taokaka's own, and wearing a maid uniform. Taokaka was intrigued, because Maids served people, and those people were served food, Taokaka wanted that food. The maid lady had asked the pair if they were the people on her paper she had. Taokaka threw her hands in the air and responded happily. "Yes! I am Taokaka from Qua...Qua...Quarter Severus! That's me nya!" Taokaka's brain so bad at names, that she couldn't even say her own guild correctly. Just as she did with everyone else, she gave the lady at the door a nickname. "Hey, Food Lady, i'm hungry, lets go go go!" The look she got in return was far from a good one, but Taokaka was oblivious, and follow the lady into the large building. The building was just as nice on the inside as it was on the outside. Taokaka had little appreciation for such things, but she did notice Nana's enjoyment of it all. "you like this place Pretty Pink Lady? I bet they have good food! I'm starving!" The newly made duo was sat a table, and the Maid Lady sat down with them. The look on her face said that there was something they needed to discuss, so Taokaka put on her best serious face, which was only seen as bright red eyes staring intently. The Maid Lady sad it was time to get to business, which was a relief to Taokaka. "YES, Business! I'll have any kind of meat you have aaaanddddd... whatever you have here!" Taokaka still was oblivious to her reason for being here. In the back of her head, she knew but her ADHD-like attention span and insanity, it was overlooked. |

"Ah, I completely forgot! Before we start, would either of you like a snack? It's still quite early in the morning, so I assume the both of you haven't eaten yet." "Uhm, if it's not too much to ask may I just have a cup of French Vanilla coffee and a strawberry muffin if you have any? Otherwise, I'd just like anything you have to offer." "I'll get right on that. And as for Miss Taokaka over here, it appears she has a deep craving for meat so I have a little surprise for her. Be back in a moment." Alice soon left to the kitchen, leaving the main area of the bakery alone to both Nana and Taokaka. Within the time that the owner had been gone, the summoner had taken the opportunity to observe the inside a little more. Every single piece of furniture resembled palaces within the medieval era that Nana had read in books. The bakery was quite large as well, having a vast amount of space for so many customers. When entering the bakery, one would notice that the entire right side of the bakery were filled with tables and chairs decorated with utensils and adorable little plastic flowers in a petite pot. At the back center, there were a flight of stairs leading to the second floor, where the owner of the shop presumably lived. The left side was similar, but with less amount of tables considering as there was a counter where people did their orders. A few minutes passed by. Nana had scanned a majority of the bakery, taking in every beautiful moment of inspiration. This scenery would definitely come in handy for future outfits! Alice soon came out of the kitchen with a variety of plates within her hand, all with food and drinks on top of them. With a lovely smile on her face, she placed the plates in front of both the summoner and the feline cat. An elegant aroma swam its way to the nostrils of Nana - oh, the sweet smell of French Vanilla coffee delighted her so. On her second plate lied a petite muffin, baked to perfection as there were small spots of pink, noticing that this was indeed a strawberry muffin! Did this bakery have every single pastry and goods that one could ever want? Taking a small bite, her taste buds exploded with a glorifying sensation. "Anyways, here's the situation. About a month ago, my business was doing so well - jewels was constantly flowing in from the citizens of the city and both my staff and I were always having a fun time baking goods for people. But, then came a day where a dark wizard came in and asked whether I had wanted protection." "Oh, and what did you say?" "I didn't want protection, there was absolutely no need to! I'm in a safe city for crying out loud. The city has a wonderful policing system to make sure everything is in tact. But, unfortunately, when I had declined the wizard said that I would regret my decision. He then chanted some spell and cursed an item in my shop, but I've yet to figure out what. I've looked everywhere - checked every single item, nothing appears to be cursed!" "What do you mean by cursed?" "Well, I'm not sure whether you believe in ghosts or not, but apparently the item attracts the lost spirits of Coreopsis and brings them here. They aren't harmful or anything, but they pull pranks and simply harass citizens and children, scaring them away from the shop. I've been gradually losing business ever since. I'm willing to do anything just to bring it back to life. I've done no wrong! So please, will the both of you help me?" Taking a sip of the wonderfully prepared coffee, Nana pressed the cup on the plate with a strong force. A determined expression appeared on her face - there was no doubt that she had wanted to help Alice bring life back into the bakery. The summoner then assured Alice that she would do everything in her power to help her in any way possible. Whoever did such a thing to such a wonderful person deserved to be punished! For one, pastries are Nana's favourite type of food and committing such a crime to a shop like this was not only a felony against the shop, but to all wonderful pastries in the lands of Fiore! With the assistance of her spirits and Taokaka, there was nothing that would be able to stop the fiery passion for sweets that existed within the summoner. "Alright, how do you want us to get started?" "Well, our first objective is to find the cursed object and destroy it. Unfortunately I have other business to attend to, so I will leave the two of you in charge. I will check in from time to time and aid the both of you whenever you need it. After that, we need to start promoting the shop once again - it has lost a lot of valuable customers!" "Got it. Let's get started, shall we Taokaka I believe it was?" |

Maid Lady had mention Taokaka's weakness: Food. Offering Taokaka a snack is like offering sugar to children. Her bright eyes grew wide, as well as her smile, in reaction to hearing such wonderful news. "FOOD? I'm starving! I'll have whatever mew have here! Especially meat! Any kinds and all kinds! Nyahahaha!" Taokaka's energy and excitement had reached quite a high state now, thanks to the food soon to be coming to her. She was almost always hungry, often even after eating. Food just had a way of disappearing when dealing with Taokaka. Whether it be eaten or metabolized, it was gone quickly. Her over activity obviously was the cause of such massive appetites. She would literally gain no weight, ever, and eats as much as she does to keep her at a healthy size. In fact, she once tore through an eighth of her body weight in food, in one day (around 13-15 pounds). If maid lady wasn't careful, Taokaka would eat her out of the rest of her business. The host walked off, apparently going to fetch the food. This was when Nana and Taokaka really took a good at the place. It was quite ornate and classy, but Taokaka didn't care about such things. Instead, underneath her hood, her nose twitched, sniffing all the wonderful smells in the air. She could all types of sweets and breads. She even thought she smelled something like meat. Her increased sense were picking apart what she smelled, and deduced what the food was. In fact, after it was prepared, Taokaka could already hear the lady coming back, from far away, and could smell exactly what she brought. She took one more good sniff, and smiled wide, excited for her food. "Oh it seems that you got your muffin thingy and coffee!" The maid lady wasn't anywhere to even been seen yet, but Taokaka figured she's tell Nana anyways, since she knew. Alice came back with the food, placing it on the table for them. Taokaka licked her lips, and dug in without wasting any time. She devoured the meat pie that she had smelled earlier, enjoying it more than any one person should. She gulped down the myriad of drinks served to her, and scarfed down some of the freshly baked danishes, donuts, and turnovers. The food was amazing, and some of the best Taokaka had ever eaten. Being obsessed with food like she was, she was sure to remember this meal likely, forever. "Ohhhh this food is so good! I want to come here all the time." Taokaka purred happily, tail swinging as she smiled. She continued to enjoy her food as the maid lady, whose name would forever be Maid Lady, started explaining the situation she was in. Taokaka listened, which was rare, nodding her head as the lady spoke. "Dark Wizard? I don't like people who use magic to harm people for no reason. It isn't very nice. People attack poor Tao when i don't do anything to them." Taokaka had many run ins with people aiming to destroy her village, and because of that is war of people who use magic. When she heard that she couldn't find the cursed item, Taokaka eyes lit up once again. "When it comes to finding it, Taokaka can do it! I can sniff it out, or see things better than normal people, because Tao is a cat! Meow! I can try and sniff out something mysterious!" Taokaka threw her paw in the air heroically, ready to save to save the day. "Leave it to Taokaka!" She would try her best to be of use to everyone. Even if she couldn't smell or see it, she would still give it her all. Edited by Sachio, Jan 1 2012, 10:05 AM.

"Sounds like you've got quite the nose, Tao! Put it to good use!" Alice soon left the bakery, attending to her own personal matters while leaving Nana and Taokaka in charge. Within that small amount of time they had conversed together, the owner had believed that they would be able to turn her life around one hundred and eighty degrees, back to where prosperity and happiness were once there. Both mages had a reputation to uphold - it would be an absolute shame if they were to fail such a mission. Nana would not only be disappointed within herself, she would also be bringing upon great grief for all of the pastries and sweets all around the world! Determination would fire up her soul and motivation would allow her to succeed in making Alice's Palace a pastry paradise that it once was! Nothing would be able to stop her now. Now, there was only one little problem that the summoner had encountered at this point: how was one able to look for a cursed item? If Alice was not able to find this item, then what would be the odds that they would be able to find such an item. From what Nana had read as a child, most cursed items were unnoticeable as they had just left a regular scent as they normally would and simply appeared to be the same. The only way one could possibly know is if they were to have the magical ability to sense and see the presence of such magic; these are mainly affiliated with creatures and entities of magic themselves. Nana had no clue as to what to do, so she simply began looking around the shop with the belief that a cursed item would just 'pop' out at her. If only such tasks were that easy! Unknown to what a cursed item would look like, Nana had began to wander around the shop, looking at a variety of items. Paintings, the cutlery on tables, to even the planks of wood around the shop were all observed at and touched carefully by the summoner's hands, yet nothing had gave off the vibe of something being cursed. Her journey to find such an item was soon then interrupted by the sounds of a female screaming within the kitchen. Immediately, the summoner turned her body towards the kitchen, with her hands placed on her celestial key sin case of danger. She looked towards Taokaka and put her finger on her own lips as a sign of quietness; with knees slightly bent, she tip toed towards the area of the scream. And what one would find was bound to be surprising as a man, dressed in a ragged clothing with an excruciating amount of hair on his head and on his beard. The woman, on the other hand was dressed in regal clothing as if one would wear to an evening ball; but the true question remained in the reason as to why such people were in such a place! The man was chasing the woman around, while the woman screamed and panicked, obviously wanting the disgusting man to leave her alone. The thing that was most frightening about this scene was that the man and woman were both of a light blue color completely - to their clothing to their skin to the very little hairs on their body. At one point, the woman and man had ran straight through the kitchen counter. "G-G-Ghosts!? |

Alice had left after their discussion, meaning it was time for the new duo to get to work on finding the item that plagued this store. Taokaka knew that Nana and herself were being depended on to bring this store back to normal and its prosperous form. The food here was wonderful, and it would be a shame if this place wasn't able to serve people, because they would be missing out. Taokaka puffed out her chest and straightened up, ready to take on this challenge. She was going to do her best to make sure this establishment was saved and back to its former glory. "Ok Pretty Pink Lady, lets find this cursey thingy and get some more food!" She threw her paw in the air, and started sniffing the air, hoping to find somewhere she could start looking. After a minute or so of sniffing, Taokaka could not smell nothing out of the ordinary. The place as a whole smelled very sweet and comforting. There wasn't anything that seemed strange to her, that stuck out. She knew before hand that it wasn't going to stick out that easily, but she figured she would at least try at least. She sighed, and put her paws on her hips. "Tao can't smell anything weird. I am sorry. I will still try my hardest". She didn't want to seem useless to Nana, so she got a determined look and went to scouring the room they had been sitting in. She crawled under the long table, picked up every dish and ornament on it, and even looked under the table cloth. Since she didn't find anything in there, she shrugged and went to move on to the next area. Before she could even take another step, her ears perked up to the sound of a scream. She looked at the kitchen, and walked slowly towards it, ready to take out the person who caused the scream. She stood next to Nana and stared at the scene they had walked into. In front of Taokaka and Nana, were two people running around the kitchen, one chasing the other. Not only were they chasing each other, but they were also moving through the kitchen furniture. They had literally moved through the kitchen counter. Taokaka then realized that they also didn't look quite right, as they were transparent and gave off a blue ethereal glow. They had walked in upon ghosts. "Ooooh so they do exist! I wonder how they can walk through things, or if they get hungry! OH, I KNOW! I WILL ASK!" Taokaka was so caught up about finding ghosts, that she didn't think about if they were friendly or not. "Hey ghosties!" she said as she walked towards the man ghost. "Do you ever get hungry? If you eat, doesn't it just fall through you? DOES TAHT MEAN YOU CAN'T EVEN PICK UP FOOD?" Taokaka's face went from curiosity, to horror as she thought of never being able to eat. "Hey Pretty Pink Lady, these poor ghosties can't eat can they?" |
