Hey everyone! It's May and you know what that means? Yeah, me neither. There's not a whole lot in terms of major news right now, except for maybe some clarification on some forms of magic like usual. As for a new event? Right now, we're just having the April Event (Bosco Invasion part 3) taking place, which runs into the middle of May. But, one cool new thing that we're introducing this month is SS-Class items. Now you have something to grind and agonize over! Yay, isn't that just lovely? I think so. You can find more info on that in the Equipment and Item Creation section in the rules.
That's it for now, folks! If I get anything new to add to this you can guarantee that I will do so. In the words of the immortal douchebag rival, "Smell ya later."
Keep on RPing everyone! Kill some Boscans!
Nickname: Druid Apprentice Age: 16 Gender: Male Height: 1.71m Weight: 65 Kg Guild:Grimoire Heart Class: B Affiliation: Neutral Home Town: Forest East of Makahiya Village
Physical Description
Yovel is a young man who stands up tall with shoulder length blond hair. His fringe goes down to above his nose, but the hair on the sides of his head goes down to the shoulder and parts out. Yovel has light green eyes and a stoic look on his face. His face is like this as he spends most of his time observing others and nature as part of his training. He is quite skinny as his body is still developing and going through puberty and luckily hasn't spouted any acne and his skin is blemish free. Living in the forest, his complexion remains constant and fair as he takes shade under the trees. His face doesn't have any lines as he rarely exhibits any facial expression which often leads to being called uncaring or indifferent by others, but this is not true as Yovel still feels the emotions inside, but chooses not to show them. His tribesmen are able to feel the sincerity and kindness from Yovel, not through his facial expressions, but through his actions which the people outside his tribe seem to have trouble grasping.
Yovel's hands has been scratched and damaged from the years of learning how to create potions and gathering plants. Some of the more potent herbs and plants protect themselves with thorns and thistles which pierce his fingers and often becoming embedded in his skin or made him bleed. Those were not the only things to have damaged Yovel's hands as he had burnt himself using an alembic accidently making a big fire or touching the alembic while it was red hot without realising it and scarring his skin. Though the severity of the scarring to Yovel's hands has been alleviated by the use of healing salves that work to heal the skin, this ensures that Yovel was able to continue his training. Now as the result of such experiences, Yovel's hands are much more durable and thicker as well as his sense of pain has been dulled considerably.
Yovel's body might be skinny, but he is toned through archery practice and travelling throughout the forest each day. He spends a good deal of his early teenage years learning the way of the bow and had to spend hours practicing his marksman's ability with dummies each day in order to defend himself properly. With drawing the bow, the movements that Yovel practice for hours each day works out his chest, arms, shoulder and back muscles. By continuous repeating the same motion of drawing an arrow, he pulls back using his back and shoulder muscles. Holding the string his forearm tightly grips the arrow and his elbow flexes as his biceps tighten to increase the tension. Once he had drawn his arrow, Yovel holds this in place sucking his gut and tensing the muscles as he aims at his target. He does not relax as when he does, it would result in a flimsy shot which could misfire and kill Yovel out right. No, Yovel has to ensure that both his arms are firm and tense as he fires to keep the bow and arrow still. Once the arrow has left the bow can Yovel relax his body giving it a moment breathe before he fires off the next arrow. Due to the tightness of the string, it requires considerable strength to draw an arrow and fire it off a fair distance, something that Yovel has not achieve yet with his developing body and level of skill.
Every morning Yovel would spend the day walking with his master learning which herb and plant does what and even the different properties of each part. They can travel for hours without stopping as they explored different parts of the forest each trip where Yovel had to remember what each plant was and what properties it had. It was gruelling at the start, but as Yovel walked more and more, his body became accustomed to the long trips and has enabled him to develop fine leg muscles. This did not lead to Yovel developing large legs as he mostly spent his time walking and with the lack of power lifting and moving, Yovel's legs stayed about the same size instead of baby fat, it was lean muscle.
With Yovel's lifestyle, he has inadvertently developed his abs and core muscle groups enabling him to have great balance. This can come from both his archery and travelling as both requires stability and mobility. Drawing an arrow requires great strength and focus, but balance is important to aim at a target and as such Yovel is able to keep his body stable while still able to breathe and move about. Even keeping his body still as he fires off the arrow, his arms still move as his body twists as he draws an arrow and fires it off. Yovel is capable of stabilising his upper body so that the bow does not divert when his shoulders rotate back to neutral. This rotating aspect of drawing the bow is caused by the core muscles of the body and thus develop Yovel's transverse abdominal muscles. Travelling throughout the forest, Yovel is bound to encounter varying terrains where the ground is unstable, slippery or unconventional and though his master travels through them with ease, Yovel had to learn how to keep his balance or lose his footing. If Yovel did, it would result in Yovel falling down, resulting in Yovel losing all the plants that he had collected or worse injury and death. So with each journey and each troublesome terrain encountered, Yovel slowly, but surely adapted to them learning how to traverse them with ease developing his mobility and stability in varying environments.
Yovel moves quite slowly compared to what others may view him and that's because he always had a habit of observing others. This and the little desire to speak unless needed, enables Yovel to stay out of the focus of anyone nearby. This does not help when he is sticking out like a sore thumb, but in the busier and crowded areas, because of his lack of presence, it enables Yovel to move around quietly. This enables him to disappear when people take their eyes of him and allows him to move around people without noticing. Others do get a fright once they realise Yovel was there when they aren't expecting him to be somewhere he wasn't.
Yovel wears a woven tunic made out of linen when he was growing up in the forest. It was died green to represent his role in the village as a druid apprentice. The other colours that were used in the tribe were red and blue, red for the hunters and blue for the gatherers. The designs of the clothes were different as well as those wearing green were more clothed as their role in the village were to create healing potions and act as mediators and archivists for the village. The tunic that Yovel wore, was sleeveless and loose showing more skin to others. The neck line was a wide circle that made the fabric that held his tunic on his shoulders to be thinner than the others. He wore green slacks that were loose and went all the way down to his ankles. It was basic clothing that really just enabled Yovel to do the things that he needed to do.
Yovel wears a white shirt and brown pants. The pants does not cover his entire length of his legs and cut short above his ankles. This is because he is still growing and had a number of growth spurts recently. He wears big thick brown boots with thick soles to survive the rough ground of the forest floor. On top of his shirt, he wears a cloak with a druid like garment as well. The cloak covers most of his upper body and hides his arms, the back part extends further where it ends just behind his knee caps. The cloak has patterns of runes where it rests on top of his hands with a green strip running between the pattern and white material. Up near the shoulder and upper body where the cloak lays another green pattern can be seen circling around the head. The garment that lies on top of Yovel represents his position in the tribe and there is a thick long material that goes down to his knees from his neck that is inscribed with patterns in green and white colour. This is hold in place by two straps that run across his shoulders and form into a cape that drapes to the bottom of his feet.
Yovel wears a bronze broach that is attached to a metal chain. The bronze broach is a gift from the village to all apprentices that have passed the initial trial are able to explore the world outside. The broach has a glass covering which encases a red stone. This red stone is precious to Yovel as when he focuses on it, he is able to sense where his home is, thus enabling a way to return to his tribe. It also gives him a sense of belonging as he feels that even though he might travel to different parts of the world, there is always a place that will welcome home and the broach is a means to achieve it. Attached to the broach is a small piece of red fabric that belonged to his mother, it was the bond of his family and tribesmen giving their support to Yovel in his journey. It has the scent of his home, his mother's cooking and his father's sweat and effort. If he ever felt lonely, Yovel would smell the piece of fabric and be reminded of his family and home and how it was everyday, bliss to be with the ones he loves. This gives Yovel the strength to go on with his journey to become stronger and more powerful so that when he does return, he would make his family proud.
The Quatros Cerberus guild stamp has been placed on the back of Yovel's left hand. This guild symbol represents Yovel's growth in the outside world representing his development as a person and a mage. He has been seen as someone capable of helping others and it also is a means to further his development. The missions that he takes will give him new skills and new places to explore which gives Yovel the opportunity to uncover an untouched potential. By learning with the people in the outside world, Yovel has gained the chance to bring prosperity to his tribe.
This Guild Stamp has been burned and now there is a scar on the back of Yovel’s left hand. After experiencing firsthand how the guilds of light impede on his growth and can potentially prevent Yovel from achieving his great potential, this scar serves as a reminder of the path he had taken and how much it had disappointed him.
Now Yovel has the Grimoire Heart guild tattoo etched underneath Yovel’s left smallest toe. It is stamped in the gap between the base of the toe and the rest of his foot in the small arch.
Yovel
Personality
Yovel had grown up observing others and working diligently everyday and thus has become stoic and calm. This has result in Yovel having the ability to control his facial expressions allowing him to show what he wants to show and have control over his body. Yovel enjoys being calm and the atmosphere it creates as it allows for growth and opportunity with people. Yovel rarely engages in conversations with others as it is part of his nature to listen and observe. This does not mean that he would outright ignore others, but instead he would respond with them accordingly, but wouldn't initiate idle chit chat with others. As Yovel enjoys being calm and relax, it exhibits itself with his mannerisms and voice. Yovel's calm and relax movements give people a non threatening stance allowing them to trust him. Yovel's voice also has a calming effect to others as it resonates with the people, giving them the chance to follow his pace.
Yovel enjoys spending time with Vits who would spend his time flying around above or staying with Yovel on the ground. He is extremely protective of Vits as Yovel spent years raising him from a chick and will defend him from any harm that others might commit. He feels at home when he is with Vits as the two of them grew up in the same forest and belong to the same tribe. Yovel takes a motherly stance with Vits and would give him a stern word if Vits does anything that could be dangerous, but let’s Vits do his own things as he is strong enough to take care of himself and fast enough to escape if he was in trouble. There is a deep trust between the two and both understand the other situation so that even though Yovel might use harsh words with Vits at times, it was because he wanted to keep him safe. That does not mean that he would not allow Vits to explore as that was the way one would learn, but after letting Vits out of his site when they were younger nearly killed the pair.
Yovel had placed a lot of hard work to achieve where he is now. He had to learn a lot of things when he was young, whether it was the history of his tribe, the different properties of the plants, raising Vits and learning the way of the bow, Yovel had to demonstrate proficiency in all areas before he was capable of going on his journey. This meant that Yovel would not want to short cut any area whether it was to walk from one town to the other or explore dangerous places. He needed to ensure that he was doing his up most best or else what was all the effort he put in the first place was worth? He needed to continue his journey to ensure that he held pride in what he has accomplished so far. This did not mean that Yovel would push himself to the point of death as he understands the need to take care of his body. Once he has reached a town, Yovel would spend time recovering and learning from the locals about different herbs and from the healers obtaining their techniques. It was important that he stayed healthy as once his journey has been completed he wants to return home with Vits and live the rest of their lives in the tribe.
Yes the tribe was important to Yovel, his friends and family all lived in the tribe. His masters as well and he was given the torch of hope for their tribe so it was important to Yovel to not let them down. He would work hard looking for new plants and herbs that he could bring back to the village and figure out what they could do. If he did he could pave the way for new opportunities to create potions and draughts that would save people. It was important that he would accomplish this, not as the expectations from the tribe, but for himself as he wants to keep the place that he grew up in safe and sound. The idea of his tribe disappearing scared Yovel as he belonged to them and even though he has met other people during his journey, the bonds that he had formed through his entire childhood held far more dearer than anything else in the world.
Yovel enjoys experimenting with different ingredients as he has a deep curiosity. If something has caught his eye, he would go over to it immediately and start pulling it apart to see what it could do. He would disappear from others as he would become interested in a plant and would work endlessly in his room at an inn figuring out the effects of different plants. That would cause problems for others, but Yovel would always keep his head on straight and remember the objectives at hand. This has caused the irritation of the people he had travelled with as he was taught to be like this when he was growing up. If they had a problem with Yovel, he would ignore them as this was important to him and if they didn't see that then it would only cause more trouble to stay together.
Yovel isn't knowledgeable in the social aspect of the outside world, but has concepts of relationships and love. He hasn't had the opportunity to explore and spent most of his time training to get stronger. He is like a child, but he does grasp basic cues in regards to privacy and atmospheres around others. His sense of humour is still developing as he is amused by the simpler things and social skills such as wit and sarcasm fall flat on Yovel where he would ignore them if he realised that it was their intention. Other than this, he is comfortable conversing with others when the engage with him. Yovel also spends the time learning the social cues from others so that he would learn if he was going to fall into a trap or not.
History
Yovel has been raised in a tribe deep in the forests of Fiore. Young children who have the gift of magic are raised by the current generation of druids to continue on the culture and history of the tribe. The druids are seen as the elders or leaders of the village and their numbers vary among the generations. This varies due to the number of children born with magic and those who survive their trial. The tribe function as a small village community where they have built crude houses and structures that resemble a small community outside the forest. Everyone has roles in the tribe as each person is important to the survivability.
Yovel was born of a female gatherer and a male hunter. He was raised by both of his parents until he had shown magical abilities by the age of five. Once he had demonstrated his skills, he was then raised to become a druid with a number of his peers, but still lived with his parents. He spends the days learning from the elders about the tribe's lore and the necessary skills in order to become a druid. In his tenth summer, Yovel was taken with the other children by the druids deep in the forest away from the tribe and spent a month listening to the forest and the animals that lived there. They were given the choice to eat meat or not, but if they chose to eat meat, they must kill the animal and give it the proper rites of death. Yovel has chosen to avoid meat and has learnt how to have a balance diet based on fruits, vegetables and legumes. A gift for all druids who have reached the age of ten was that they were given an egg from the birds that have aligned themselves with the tribe for generations. The eggs were the about 15cm wide and 40cm tall, which made carrying difficult for a ten year old Yovel. He took care of the egg and kept it warm waiting for it hatch. In the mean time Yovel would spend time attending to his duties, travelling around the forests collecting herbs or learning what each ingredient was and what it could do. Eventually after a few moons of receiving the egg, it hatched revealing a large green chick who was chirping loudly. It was imprinted with Yovel immediately and they developed a strong bond, which grew closer as Yovel cared for the chick. He named the chick Vitskertur or for short Vits after realising it was male. It chirped happily to its name as this started the story of their growth.
Vits would waddle after Yovel everywhere they went and it was the same for his peers as their eggs had hatched and the young chicks were running around and playing with each other when the apprentices were reciting the lore of their tribe. This made it more troublesome for the apprentices to learn, but the Druids understood this as this were to occur every year. It was easier for Yovel to learn when he was with his master as it was just them and their avian partners. Vits had a lot of baby feathers at this stage and looked like a giant green puff ball which made him cuddle and adorable. This meant that they slept a lot together when they returned home. They didn't encounter much difficult when Yovel was raising Vits as he was obedient and listened to what Yovel had asked of him whether it was to calm down or not to run off so far. The only trouble that Vits and Yovel really encountered was during their journey around the forest, Yovel and Vits were travelling along when Yovel lost sight of Vits for a moment. He eventually found Vits who was playing around with something different, it wasn't a plant or anything like that, so Yovel came up and picked up Vits from the ground. Vits chirped and Yovel went to inspect what Vits was looking at. He walked closer to the thing and it stirred which made the blood rush away from his face. The bushes shook and out came a dangerous beast that was rearing its head at Yovel. Yovel was frozen in fear from the beast as a ten and a half year old against a beast that would require a number of hunters to take down showed the gravity of the situation. The beast was about to attack when Yovel was protected by his master who jumped in and scared the beast with her magic. After that Yovel and Vits were lectured harshly from Yovel's master, but she in the end was clearly relieved that both had come out unscathed from the incident.
It would make Yovel full of joy when he sees Vits waddle around on the ground and chirping as he explored his surrounding, but Yovel did give him firm warnings in case he was going to inspect a plant that would have been dangerous or made Vits sick. Over time Vits became bigger and bigger, but the two of them would stay at each other’s side, never leaving the other unless they couldn't such as Yovel travelling through a cramp tunnel and Vits had to stay outside. Vits grew up quickly as did others of his kind do and soon it was for Vits to learn how to fly. This was very difficult as the trees in the forest were close and high so they had to move out to an area that was off higher ground so they could practice flying and gliding. It was difficult for Vits as he had no reason to use his wings until now so the two of them spent most of their free time learning how to fly and stay in the air. Vits would always take a tumble the first few times as he stumbled and tripped trying to fly, but eventually he got the hang of it. He learnt how to glide and then eventually after that he could stay in the air after he was strong enough to produce powerful flaps to keep him up. Once that was achieved and Vits could fly in a clear space, they practiced flying around sharp corners and small spaces ideally the forest itself. This was difficult indeed as some parts of the forest were close up while others were spread apart creating a variable number of course each time. This lead to Vits becoming battered and bruise on occasion as he crashed into trunks or into the ground as he stumbled and clipped his wings on branches and brushes. This took a few months to practice as Vits would spend time recovering after a bad flight, but was always eager to improve himself. Eventually over time Vits was agile and quick enough to fly around the trees and dodge them most of the time, but he was capable of taking care of himself through the forest.
The next part of Vits training was to try and carry Yovel while flying at the same time. This was difficult indeed as with the added weight, Vits would tire more easily as he flew. This caused the time he could fly to drop and the distance as well due to the build up of fatigue, but the two of them practiced as much as they could. Eventually Vits could carry Yovel while flying, but only a short distance and duration. During this period, the two of them tapped into Vits' naturally magic ability which was common for his species and had developed skills and abilities to improve his flying capability. Vits is able to turn his magic into a speed boost allowing him to carry Yovel over certain distances much quicker and stealth ability. Copying the flight of owls, Yovel and Vits were able to devise a skill that would allow Vits to emulate the flight of an owl allowing him to flying through the air without making a sound and enabling him to appear and disappear at an instance. The two of them worked on this skill and were able to fly around without making a sound, but they needed more magic to disappear from the sights of others. Still the two of them had made a lot of progress their lives in the forest and it was only the beginning of their journal. Maybe someday when they left the forest, they would get into situations where their lives might depend on it and have to push themselves to survive.
Yovel would travel around the forest with his master during the mornings where she would take him on trips to different parts. Each part of the forest held different plants that naturally grew there and were found by past druids on their own journey. A number of druids have brought back plants that had unique properties that had furthered the healing capabilities of the druids and the information they had shared with the healers had significantly helped. Now with each generation of druids, the knowledge expands greatly and they become more efficient in healing and treating the injuries where the masters are capable of healing people who are near death. Such things were out of Yovel's reach for now, but he had his whole life to obtain the skills that the elders have achieved. As they travelled to different portions of the forest, the terrain and climate had to be changed in order to facilitate the natural environment of which the plants naturally grew. So Yovel would come across blazing hot areas as hot as the desert, while others were as mucky and dark as a swamp. As such it was difficult for Yovel to travel when he first began as he would get stuck or had difficulty traversing the different environments that he had encountered. He watched his master move about with ease as she spent years adapting to the terrain that they came across. This was ideally a good training regime for Yovel as he on his own journey encounter other terrains such as these and had to figure out how to overcome them himself. What has been the hardest one for Yovel was to scale the cliff side in order to reach plants that would only grow at the edge. Such plants were always unique, but were extremely dangerous to obtain if Yovel slipped and fell to his death.
As Yovel journey more and more with his master, he became more accustomed to travelling each and every terrain he came across, though with the days after rain, it can change unexpectantly. The rains had affected the areas that had little soil strength such as the loose soil of the desert area or the shrubs. Holes and crevasses would appear in the ground which made things more difficult to cross or large puddles of water would form in paths that were clear the day before. The most troublesome changed that he encountered were the paths full of jagged rocks and fallen trees that meant that they had to change the path to the different plants and herbs. The other druids and apprentices experienced the same thing, but all the druids were use to such changes and move pass them with ease. Yovel and his peers had trouble as they tried to climb over or move past such terrain, but as Yovel grew older, he became accustomed to such changes and was use to the changes each day. He was nowhere near the level of the druids, but was capable of taking care of himself while travelling across the lands.
Once reaching the places that held the plants, the next step were to harvest the useful parts will allow the plant to continue to grow and flourish. The worse thing to happen was to let their supply run dry and thus Yovel was taught how to be resourceful with what he obtained on the trips. The next part of harvesting was trying to avoid the plant's natural defences which can involve thorns, thistles, poisonous barbs and all other manner of things that could kill him. Heck some plants had insects like ants that would defend the plant or parasites that protected the plant. On a number of occasions Yovel would end up with spikes and thorns in his fingers which caused cuts and festered his skin. Some days he would become so ill that he needed a few days rest to recover his strength. He would learn how to manage the plants the next time as a few of them were very dangerous if he didn't have the help of his master. As a result, Yovel's hands had become scratched, scared and inflamed with all the sorts of punishment he put them through while collecting different plants. It was a price to pay to learn as the skills he learnt here would help protect the future of his tribe.
As the children grow up, they were taught how to create potions and salve that would heal the wounded and cure different diseases. They spent their time watching the druids conduct their treatment on their tribemens and hunters. Yovel was mentored by a middle aged female druid who spent most of her time harvesting different plants and turning them into salves and potions. Yovel would spend the earliest part of his days remembering and reciting the different herbs and plants that he was shown. Over the course of his training, Yovel had managed to develop a systematic memory enabling to easily recognise plants, what they could do and what kind of environment they grow in. It was important to know where they grow in if there was a situation where you needed to find a particular plant. Life and death situations depend on the druid’s ability to treat the injured and if they can't then the person will lose their life and they would have lost a tribesman. Once Yovel had demonstrated the ability to recite the different herbs and plants that his master has shown him, he was then moving onto the stage of making basic salves and potions. Creating the salves was easier as it involve proportions of ingredients to be crushed in a motar with a pestle. Once that was done, oils or water were used thicken and liquefy the mush created so that it would create a cream or gel that could be applied to the body. It was hard at first as Yovel would be told to crush them again as they weren't done properly or had turned them into a fine powder when they were meant to be thicker. As he practiced over time, he learnt what type of ingredients should be crushed and how they should be prepared. It became second nature for Yovel as he was introduced more and more plants and was asked to use them into different concoctions and salves.
The alembic was more troublesome as Yovel had to extract essences and oils from the ingredients and that would vary which each one. The first time he used an alembic, he burnt his hands as he didn't realise the glass was so hot. It took sometime before Yovel was able to use the alembic again and it still proved to be a challenge. It was difficult to gauge what volume of plants should be placed in the alembic and the amount of water. Sometimes he didn't put enough water and the plants dried out or other times he put too much and the solution was diluted. It was tough, but eventually after weeks of practice, he eventually created a potion that would alleviate stomach cramps. It was something simple, but affect especially if someone ate something bad. He was nowhere near making the potions that could close up wounds and bring people back from death as they require more complex apparatus and skill and experience to make. He watched his master create some powerful potions which require such precise timing and knowledge to get the balance correct and successfully mix the ingredients so that the chemicals and magical properties would result in the desired effect.
Yovel had a lot of practice and knowledge in this area and is competent in replicating this skill with others. His master was an adept alchemist and healer knowing her way around the woods and collecting the ingredients to make her potions. What astounded Yovel was her combat prowess where she was able to effectively use her glyphs to do all sorts of things. It was amazing and Yovel wished to someday gain the powers and skills that she has learnt when she was travelling around in the world and maybe something more. He remembers the nights when he first saw his master create glass jars out of the fire, wind and earth glyphs. She told Yovel the process of creating sand from the earth and wind and then heating it up with fire. She melted the sand and it turned into this glowing liquid where she started to blow air into it and formed a bottle and vials. Yovel wanted to be able to do something like that one day and so he practiced the arts, but could never master it. It was difficult for him to learn how to blow glass as he needed to have direct control of the fire glyph and it ended up with his creations deformed or busting. Yovel really wanted to do that and craft a vial he could use so he focused on learning the fire, wind and earth glyphs. He also tried to learn the fusion spell so that he could create sand, but his teacher told him to slow down. His main focus as a druid is to create healing potions to help the tribesmen in time of strife and thus he needed to learn the fire and water glyphs. Yovel's teacher brought him to alchemy table and placed the alembic on top. She placed a number of basic healing herbs and said As an apprentice you will go out into the world to become more powerful, but at the same time you will find different plants that you would not know and would see if they could create even stronger potions. Thus as apprentices, your aim is to help the village as Druids and so you must be able to create potions in any situation. She created a single water glyph and water flowed out and into the alembic. Water the source of life in this world. It is the source that sustains our body She then created a fire glyph which formed a strong flame underneath the alembic. It started to heat the alembic's contents. Fire is what sustains our mind. It's flame undying purifies the most darkest of taints. They waited awhile and watched the water boil and it drew out the chemicals of the plants inside. The water started to steam and it was collected into a vial. Yovel's master corked the full vial and showed it to him With both of them together you would gain the ability to save life where ever you may be. With that Yovel focused on learning the fire and water glyph so that he could practice his skills where ever he was and so that he could save the lives of others.
The first glyph that Yovel tried to learn was the fire glyph Eldur. With Eldur, one had to envision the word within their mind, draw it out into the physical plain with their magic and enable to form. It seemed simple, but it wasn't as Yovel would imagine the glyph within his mind for hours trying to draw it out. At first he could feel that his magic was stirring, but nothing came out of it. Days would pass as he practiced creating Eldur, someday he felt he progressed more than others, but sill nothing happened. It wasn't until a few weeks later that something had come out of it as he felt something stir from within. He could actually feel his magic power and he drew on it, creating the glyph in front of him. He felt the magic flow from his body and he felt close to achieving it, but collapsed. He felt as if he hadn't breathed, but he was sure that he was. He also felt fatigued and out of magic which meant that he did achieve something that day and spent the rest of the evening recuperating. It wasn't until the next day that he tried again. He did the same thing in attempt to push him past what he had done the day before and focused intently. Drawing out his magic power, he was a bit too quick this time and lost control, his magic instantly drained away from him leaving him in the same state as the day before. With that Yovel spent the next few days improving his skills, slowly, but surely in order to create the glyph. It was not until a week later that he was able to physically manifest the glyph in his palms. Yovel was ecstatic that he had envisioned the glyph in front of him and he tried to activate it. Now this is where it got tricky where he needed up most control in activating the glyph or else it would misfire resulting in a variety of outcomes, most of them which can harm Yovel. Yovel breathed in slowly to catch his breath controlled his mind as he focused on the glyph, it started to shimmer before it cracked and disappeared. Yovel became disappointed and he was too tired to create another one so he waited for the next day. The next day he couldn't create a glyph which made him frustrated as he managed to do it the day before. He tried once more and ended up draining him completely causing him to feel fatigued. The day after that, Yovel did manage to create a glyph and this time he wanted to make it work. Breathing in and feeling the glyph itself, Yovel focused and as he opened his eyes, the glyph glowed and created a small spark of fire that was flickering in his hands. He was so ecstatic that he lost his concentration and the fire went out. Still Yovel was glowing with the work he was able to accomplish that day and eagerly awaited the next day so he could practice once more.
He felt comfortable with himself being able to create a glyph that Yovel practiced it every day. He eventually grew stronger and stronger to the point that he could create multiple glyphs over the course of a day which meant that he had progress such a distance compared to when he first started. Yovel was glad that he was grasping the basic of the magic and could envision the glyphs in his mind. He felt proficient with the Eldur glyph even though he could only create one at a time, it only took a few minutes to recharge and create another one. He then moved onto the Vatn glyph which represented water. It found it easier as well to create the glyph and in a matter of days was capable of creating a Vatn glyph and activating it. As time went on, Yovel practised these two glyphs first so that the was capable of using them in any situation that presented itself. He eventually came to the point where he could summon both the Eldur and Vatn glyphs at the same time, but not more than one of either glyphs which meant that it must require more magic to create more than one glyph at a time. He was proud at what he has achieved and eagerly awaited the day he could start his journey.
Once Yovel has shown signs of entering puberty, he was then trained with the huntsmen as well as his training with the druids. The huntsmen trained Yovel and his peers in the art of the bow where they were given the skills to defend themselves in the outside world. The hunters gave the basic training regime to the apprentices as well for the young tribesmen who have taken the roles of hunters. They all practiced together learning how to fire off an arrow and aim it at a target. They were also taught to make their own arrows and how to repair their bows in case the string snapped or the bow broke over time. It was additional learning for Yovel to take in, but he tried his best as he knew it would be do or die in the outside world. After he and his peers had learnt how to use a bow, maintain it and not kill themselves with it, they were left on their own to practice with the bow. So Yovel would spend his free time other than revising with ingredients and taking care of Vits, he would spend a few hours each day with the bow. It was hard at first as he was using muscles in a manner that he never need to before, but as he spent weeks firing off arrows into dummies, he got use to drawing a bow. It showed on his body that he grew stronger and more defined in his upper body as he was practicing each day. He wasn't stronger physically as he did not spend time lifting things and carrying things around, but more toned and lithe so that he became more agile and mobile in his upper body. With the strength required to draw the bow, Yovel would at time find that he would miss fire as he was unable to keep his body still or became too exhausted to continue. This improved over time as Yovel learnt to breathe as he drew his bow and aimed before firing. He felt more in control with his body realising how to keep balance and up right as he practiced more and more each day. He felt that it wasn't so straining to practice as he wasn't getting tired from trying to keep his body steady as it became second nature for him to perform the movements. This has shown in his marksman skills as he is able to aim at moving targets while moving him. This is a skill that is required by all hunters to demonstrate that they are able to fend for themselves whether it is to hunt for food or defend against a powerful animal. Yovel's father was proud of him having achieved the skills required to be independent and capable of caring for his family. He was happy to receive his father's praise and thus Yovel felt closer to him. This would be the woe of his mother as he was surrounded by talks about arrows and bows and stories about hunting when her husband and son returned home, but she enjoyed it. She enjoyed that the family together knew that one day Yovel will leave on his journey so she kept these days close to her heart.
Yovel had demonstrated the skills required leaving on his journey to the outside world, but first he was in front of a panel of elder druids who wanted to talk to his mentors. With Yovel was his master and teacher druid, the huntsmen who taught Yovel the way of the bow, a beast master who watched the livestock, Vits and his parents. The druids asked each of Yovel's mentors about his skills in the different areas and whether or not he was capable of surviving in the outside world. His master had shown the potions and salves that Yovel had managed to create during her test and the druids examined them through vision, taste, touch and smell. They were pleased with the level shown and then asked the huntsmen about his skill with the bow. The huntsmen had shown a Gibber that he had hunted and killed in the forest and the druids were confident in his skills to chase one down and kill it. The beast master inspected Vits and gave a report about his growth under Yovel's care. He was happy with the development of Vits and had tested him flying through a course while carrying some weights. Vits was strong enough to fly and complete the trial under the time specified. The last test was to demonstrate to the druids the manifestation and activation of two different glyphs. Yovel opened both palms and summoned both Eldur and Vatn. He then proceeded to activate them which resulted in a flame in one hand and water to spill into the other. The druids then left to deliberate their decision before returning and giving their verdict. They eventually came back and they were pleased with Yovel's abilities and had given him permission to leave the forest and embark on his own journey. He was pleased as well as his teachers and parents. They retired for the evening as they decided to rest before the next day where Yovel had decided to leave.
Yovel woke up the next day and prepared himself for the day. He had his normal breakfast with his parents before collecting his stuff. His mother gave him a broach that was given to them by the druids the night before. It was customary for the parents to adorn the broach with anything so that it served as a reminder for the apprentices that they had a place to return. Yovel had to change into a new set of clothes that was far more complex than the ones he wore growing up. These garments signified the status of an apprentice who had passed his tribunal. He walked to the edge of the village with his bag attached to his hip underneath the all the clothes and met with his master who had taught him for the last eight years. The huntsman who taught him how the use the bow and the druids of the village. There were other apprentices there was well and the elders. They gave their farewells to Yovel and with the sun set up high, Vits flying in the sky above, he walked out of the forest and into the outside world where his story began.

As a result, the max distance that Yovel can fire his bow at his current level would be 15m away.
Name: Wooden Arrows Class: D Description: Arrows that are made out of wood and measure up to 20cm long. The fletching of the arrows comes from feathers found in the forest and thus provides varying qualities of the basic arrow ranging from streamline to flimsy based on the feathers used. Currently most of Yovel's arrows have been made out of flying birds enabling them to be of average quality.

Name: Version 1 - GH Starlite 28,000,000 Jewel for upgrade (Prototype bought at 27,000,000 Jewels) Class: S Description: Prototype - GH Starlite is an armour Yovel created and built within the laboratory of Grimoire Hearts. It was his first time building this armour and used many resources and plans within its dark hall. It is considered to provide S class protection to its wearer.
The armour itself covers Yovel's entire body only revealing his head and hands. At the back of his head is a cybernetic head brace protecting Yovel's lower head and most of the lateral side of Yovel's head from large blows. It has three leaf/feather like implements on the head brace which are antennae for sending information about the prototype's performance back to the facilities in Yovel's laboratory. Covering Yovel's body is a cybernetic laced suit which works in tandem with the armour pieces. The armour is considered half plate as it covers Yovel's upper chest area, arms and below the knees. Along the area where the cybernetic suit is exposed, there are armoured pieces to add protection while keeping mobility and effectively reducing the overall weight.
Version 1 Upgrade - No visual change has been implemented to GH Starlite, but Yovel has reworked the Cybernetic Suit modifying the Lacryma Lattice network and thus allowed it to increase functionality in combat. Below is the result of Yovel's modification.
Death Incarnate
Death Incarnate - Rank 9 Type: Offensive Range: 0-18m Description: On the suit's upper thigh region where the cybernetic lacryma lattice is exposed the user is create six chain sickles. Three chain sickles appear on the outer side of the armour, each one between an exposed slot of the Starlite frame that supports the upper thighs. The sickles and chains are considered A Class weapons with no extra powers and on standby the sickles are resting parallel to the thighs while the chains are stored within the suit's lattice network. The sickles are bladed on both sides with a width of 4cm, the handle of the sickle is 3cm in width and 15cm in length. From the handle, the sickle curves from 0 to 200 degrees with a diametre of 25cm. The chains have a width of 4cm and a length of 8cm linked together. The sickle and chains are mentally controlled through the user using arm movements to guide the direction of the sickles in any given direction. These sickles and chains can only be extended to a maximum range of 18m from the user for all six but this is shared. Meaning at the base they can only go 3m each from the armour unless some are retracted to give others greater range. This is due to the lacryma lattice used to create the sickles and chains physically, if the total available length of the chain were to be extended, it would compromise the lattice network by overtaxing and thus weakening the protective capability of the armour itself.
The sickles and chains has a Duration of 5 posts and a Cool Down of 2.
The strength of the sickles is calculated as (user's str x 0.9) capped at 100. The speed of the sickle and chains is (user's speed x 0.7) capped at 70.

Vits
Nickname: Vits Age: 5 years old Gender: Male Height: 6 metres tall, wing span 20 metres wide Weight: 79.4 kg Class: S
Physical Description: Vits is a large green coloured bird that has a large body and a large wing span. The body of Vits is similar to a raven where he walks on the ground hunched forwards due to the weight and size of his wings. This means that Vits does not stand tall like other birds, but leans forwards. This does not mean that Vits is shorter than any other bird as even when he is hunched forwards he is still at an impressive 8 metres high. The wing span of Vits is quite impressive being 20 metres long as they needed to be that big in order for Vits to fly. The wings span is impressive enough to carry multiple passengers in the sky at a great height without difficulty. This is generally not enough due to its weight and size where Vits tires easily after for what is considered short flights for these birds and employ the use of magic that they exhibit. The feathering and colour of Vits is a fluoro green hue which represents that he is part of a species of birds that live in the forest. His feathers are long and have serrations throughout the quills which enable air to pass through his wings easily making less of a sound and allow him to glide distances without getting tired or losing too much altitude from not flapping his wings. He has long quills on his wings which allow the most of the draft to flow and pick him up into the air with medium length quills on his head and body. The medium length quills are serrated like the long quills, but they are shorter than the long quills to enable movement of the head and body without the quills restricting movement. He has short quills on the legs for this very reason so that Vits can move on the ground without too much restriction. Vits has a long yellow beak with a hooked edge which doesn't help with pecking as it is more used to crush things instead. Vits has a number of long quills on the front of his head especially around his eyes and forehead to reduce the wind resistance during flight. Vits has red eyes which help a lot when he navigating through the dark. Vits' legs are long and are like normal birds, but in proportion to the rest of his body with black claws at the bottom. Personality Vits is extremely loyal to Yovel as it views him as his parent and will do anything to uphold that trust. The species that Vits belongs to are generally bred by Yovel's tribe to pass the apprentices. During the five years of raising Vits in the tribe before setting out on their journey into the outside world, Vits and Yovel had a very caring and loving relationship. Yovel cares for Vits very deeply and the feeling is mutual and the two trusts each other with the upmost care. This has caused Vits to not trust others or allow others near to him unless Yovel trusts them and will fight back protecting his parent from anyone who dare cause them harm. Vits will not allow anyone on his back unless Yovel had asked him to take someone somewhere as he does not like leaving Yovel alone.
Vits stays with Yovel most of the time either flying from above high in the sky or perching in the nearby woods and forest. He is still wary of others who Yovel meet in the outside world and frets when Yovel goes underground or in a cave as he is unable to follow them down and give assistance to Yovel whenever. Vits and Yovel have bonded together and are able to tell what the other is thinking. This is not done through words, but through emotions as they have a deep connection develop when Vits was born and during the time they have grown together. Vits will die if Yovel dies and will stay alive until Yovel's spirit leaves his body and will follow him where ever they may go.

Effect: The spell allows Yovel to create a number of glyphs, where the number is equivalent to the rank. Yovel is able to then send his glyphs flying in a direction where it arcs towards the target. Anything that is hit by this spell results in Vindur exploding engulfing the object, spell or person in gales. Each Vindur glyph deals independent damage found in column 1. In the occurrence that all the glyphs collide to the same target at once, then the damage is equivalent to column 2

Bogagong – Rank 10 Type: Solid Script Range: Refer to table Effect: Creates the word Bogagong which represents arcane in Yovel’s language. When cast the glyphs appear, higher the rank, the more that are created. Each glyph is 10cm large and is within a ball of emanating energy about 15cm in diameter. This spell requires all the glyphs to work simultaneously in order to achieve maximum efficiency. Within the given shield size, Yovel can manipulate the glyphs into a formation to gain a desired shield shape whether it is a dome, a wall or a star shape veil. A shield can block lower rank spells at greater efficiency with each difference in rank
If there is a difference of 1, it can block 3 spells of this magnitude
If there is a difference of 2, it can block 5 spells of this magnitude
If there is a difference of 3, it can block 7 spells of this magnitude
If there is a difference of 4, it can block 9 spells of this magnitude etc,
In the event of spells being of higher rank that the shield then
If there is a difference of 1, the attacking spell is reduced by 2 ranks in terms of power
If there is a difference of 2, the attacking spell is reduced by 1 ranks in terms of power
If there is a difference of 3, the attacking spell suffers no penalty
In regards to physical attacks, the shields scale off Yovel’s stamina stat. Attackers with a strength stat higher than Yovel’s stamina stat are able to break the shield. In addition, weapons provide a modifier

Iikami – Rank 10 Type: Solid Script Range: 5m Effect: Creates the word Iikami which represents body in Yovel’s language. When cast the glyphs appear, higher the rank, the more that are created. Each glyph is 10cm large and is within a ball that is solid and purple about 15cm in diameter. The spell is then inscribed onto the person's body empowering them with the word. Since this word represents body, it enhances the body's physical capabilities. The more glyphs that are inscribed onto the body the greater the enhancement effects the wearer. At each rank, Yovel gains the equivalent number of glyphs to use and the unique thing is that Yovel can inscribe any number of people with Iikami based on the number of glyphs available. This does not mean that everyone will gain the equivalent enhancement as this is determined by the number of glyphs that the person is inscribed with. For example at Rank 8, Yovel has 8 glyphs to inscribe. In a group of 3, Yovel can delegate 3 glyphs to himself and another person leaving the last person with 2 glyphs. This means that the people with 3 glyphs will experience a 15 stat boost across the 4 physical stats according to the table below. The last person will experience a 10 stat boost across the 4 physical stats. If Iikami is used this way then at higher levels, the amount of stat boost overall is much lower such as in this case a total boost of 40 stat points compared to the single inscription of 65 Stat points. The reason for this is that it allows Yovel to enhance multiple targets with a boost while incurring a penalty as he is not a support specialist.
Malmur - Rank 2 Type: Solid Script Range: Refer to table Aesthetic: Creates the word Malmur which represents metal in Yovel’s language. When cast a single glyph appears. The glyph is 10cm large. Upon impact the glyphs explode as the magic disperses in the form of metal. Effect: The spell allows Yovel to create a single glyph. Yovel is able to then send his glyph flying in a direction where it streaks towards the target. Anything that is hit by this spell results in Malmur exploding engulfing the object, spell or person in shrapnel.
