Hey everyone! It's May and you know what that means? Yeah, me neither. There's not a whole lot in terms of major news right now, except for maybe some clarification on some forms of magic like usual. As for a new event? Right now, we're just having the April Event (Bosco Invasion part 3) taking place, which runs into the middle of May. But, one cool new thing that we're introducing this month is SS-Class items. Now you have something to grind and agonize over! Yay, isn't that just lovely? I think so. You can find more info on that in the Equipment and Item Creation section in the rules. That's it for now, folks! If I get anything new to add to this you can guarantee that I will do so. Tonight in East Fiore, in a decent sized city, there would be one of the many parties that rich city folk had for whatever silly reason they had them. Today, in particular, was the anniversary was a certain seedy hotel. And while those that attended the party were definitely patrons of said hotel, not everyone invited even knew of the place. You see, the hotel had some pretty dirty business going on behind it and in an effort to make the party seem innocent, random guild mages were invited along. It was alike a goodwill mission for the name of the hotel and to make them seem legitimate. Of course, there were dangers that were involved in such an event so knights were hired out to watch over the ball room. They would be stationed outside of the ballroom doors, just in case. One of the few guild mages invited along to this party was Natalie. While she was reluctant to even go in the first place, Alex and Kitty had convinced her to do so in the name of being sociable. So Natalie dragged herself to the party. She wasn't unhappy with having to go to it, but having to dress up. Her usually kimono wasn’t permitted for such a thing, so Kitty got her dressed in something more...party-esque and definitely outside Natalie's realm of fashion. She was dressed in a red spaghetti strap dress decorated with a rose design. It left her arms, shoulders, and legs bare, something she was definitely not use to. Though, because she was still underdeveloped, she didn't fill the whole this out as she should. Either way, as the party went on, Natalie would do what she usually did and stand silently, watching those around her with cold creepy eyes. |

Saito stood stoically in his normal clothes despite the occasion. Despite the party was hosted by very rich patrons, it did not matter much. He was just a plain guardsman doing his job. The private remembered the way he was called. The corporals selected several privates to take part of the duty. Of course, Saito was one of them on the list. It was quite obvious it was random as there are a couple of experienced and non-experienced privates involved. The teenager heard of this hotel from the mouths that spread rumors. It had lots of dirty business around, and the knights were hired to make it look more legit along with other guild mages. But the private did not give a worthwhile damn. It is just a job. Things like this would not matter to him. At least not yet when someone causes trouble. He could hear the ballroom bustling with friendly activity with a couple of songs mixed in. His eyes have seen a number of mages and other people involved with this event, come through the entrance of the ballroom. They stared at each and one of them carefully as the attendees entered the room. His arms were crossed against his chest while his left elbow rested on top of his sheathed katana at the left side of his hip. "I wonder when we'll be done with this?" Saito wondered as he surveyed the crowd behind him enjoying the party and then back at the stream of attendees. There were a couple of hot shots here and there that he recognized, but did not show any signs of recognition... Which earned him some glares from them which he also gave no signs of acknowledgement. As more passed through, the private yawned tiredly and licked his lips. "This is going to be a long night," he muttered to himself quietly before taking another short yawn.

The party would go on and things would increasingly get boring. Natalie's usual thoughts circled around in her head. More often than not, they were incredibly disturbing things that she kept to herself. And for those unfortunate enough to ask what they were, they would hardly sleep when the night was over. Taking a seat at one of the many tables, Natalie wondered just what kind of social activity she was supposed to be getting when surrounded by a whole bunch of strangers. It was worse that most of them were at the very least ten years older than see was. Did the host even check the ages of the guild mages he invited? One of the young gentlemen of the party would notice Natalie sitting by herself and approach her. "What a cutie, why are you here all by your lonesome?" She questioned, just trying to be friendly. Natalie would look to him with dark scarlet colored eyes and say nothing. She would simply give him a cold hard stare as if he was supposed to figure out the answer on his own. A bit unnerved, the guy stood up straight and chuckled a bit. "Shy are we? How about we dance and you can tell me what's on your mind." He suggested, trying to get the girl to break out of her shell. "Such a thing is simple. I'm only imagining your eyes being slowly gouged out and sizzling through the use of the light lacrima used in the chandelier after it falls from the ceiling and crushes your body under its weight. Would you like to know more?" She questioned, actually giving an honest answer. The guy would back off, but just as he did, the windows to the building would shatter as a mass of armed thieves would rappel in with guns waving and shooting. "Everyone down! All your shit is mine!" |

It was doing good and all until he heard fragile glass burst into smithereens. Saito peeked through the entrance of the ballroom to keep himself concealed. There were a mass number of men wearing a dark type of dress for concealment. And of course, they were wearing cliched black ski masks to conceal their identities. They were shooting up in the air to get their attention which they already got it to begin with, not knowing why they would waste bullets... "Everyone down! All your shit is mine!" But the private's attention were on the guns they were carrying. A lot of them were using automatic rifles. Only the leader was using an automatic pistol in one hand pointed at the air. Saito was just calmly surveying the situation until a number of inexperienced knights recklessly charged into the ballroom. "Stop! In the name of the knights of Fiore! We--" They were all shot down easily by the guns. "Idiots," he muttered as he hid. The more experienced knights got together to formulate a plan. "Anyone have a plan?" one of them asked. "We all got swords, spears, and stuff... While Jason got a bow... But they got guns..." They were all still contemplating their options while the thieves were prowling around the area. "I'll break the light lachrymas with my throwing knife," Saito volunteered. The rest of them stared at him, one asked,"You can do that?" The private nodded,"I can. It's not that far up high." "I see..." the one who stated their weapons from before was nodding,"There's twenty of them... How many you got?" "Fifteen," Saito grimaced,"But there are a couple of mages there. They might help us out..." "Hmm... Alright... We'll have to bet on the mages to help us on this. Jason. Saito. Get ready to take out the lights." "Will do." "Yes sir." The party would go into a panic, but would be quickly quieted by sudden gunfire. It would seem that the great silencer was here and there was little needed to stop from making too much noise. But then, in a heroic facade, some of the knights that were guarding the place rushed in, proclaiming their status and authority. Unfortunately, that was all that they were able to do as they were all shot up and massacred by the thieves. "You see that!? No one is going to save you! Now hand over all your jewelry...and your women!" He demanded, asking for the two highest selling commodities. With the guests at gunpoint, there was nothing they could do but oblige. The jewelry was tossed to the ground for one of the thieves to collect while the others ushered the women to the other side of the room in a group. Natalie, too, was escorted to the other side. She said silent, pretending to be one of the helpless as one of the thieves roughly grabbed her arm and led her over. "Look at this girl, she's all pale. Must be sacred shitless!" He laughed, enjoying the fact that he was exerting his authority over another person. When they were just about to the other side, he would stop with Natalie in tow. He had stepped in something that would be slippery and looked down to see a pool of blood on the floor that was not from the shot up knights. "What the fuck! She's bleeding! You on your-” He started to say, only as a crimson spike shot up from the pool and skewered the thief on it. His body hung in the air, on the blood spike as Natalie turned to face the other thieves. "She's a mage!" They yelled out as they all aimed their guns to fire at her. However, a crimson barrier out raise up and surround the girl, blocking the bullets that spewed forth and protecting her. They were all now distracted in getting rid of Natalie, a dangerous mage. |

"She's a mage!" Saito heard one of the thieves cry out. The majority of the remaining knights saw Natalie starting to fend off the thieves by peeking through the entrance. "Well then, we'll have to go in after all. Jason, change of plans. I'll leave everything to you in taking out some of the lachrymas. I'll have to provide some support with my knives. We're going to depend on that mage to keep the majority of their attention away from us" Saito said to his fellow private ranked knights while unsheathing his katana while taking out a number of throwing knives at hand. The rest of them nodded and started to rush out of the entrance. "CHARGE!" roared one of the private at the top of his lungs. "Shit! There's more of these guys! Shoot them!" While some of the thieves were shooting at Nathalie, a number of them started to shoot at the remaining knights. "ARGH!" A private got hit by a pistol round to the shoulder while two others were hit in the body by rifle rounds. The rest kept moving on until they turned over the diner tables as cover while others hid behind the walls. Jason was still at a safe distance away from the guns' maximum range as he started shooting down a number of light lachrymas hanging up on the ceiling as chandeliers. The lachrymas that hung above the thieves crashed into them as they were cut off from their support. But even he had to periodically take cover while shooting because of stray bullets. "GAAAH!" Saito added onto the havoc as he did the same while moving in closer and taking cover periodically. So far so good. The mage had much of the thieves' attention. While Saito and Jason were the bulkhead of their advance towards the main body of the enemy team. It shouldn't take long to quell the threat if all goes according to plan. It would seem that Natalie's distraction proved useful as another force of knights rushed into the room. Of course, Natalie could not see them, only hear them. Her blood was opaque and as such, she could not see through it. However, hearing was good enough as she could tell what was going on. And with less gunfire on her, Natalie could move back on the offensive with the blood pool that lay at her feet. Lowering her barrier, multiple tentacles sprung forth from the pool and extended rapidly toward the armed men. There would be five of them in total, each wrapping themselves around and picking up the men as they struggled to get themselves free. And without a second thought, Natalie would use them to fling the men out of the ballroom windows, sending them plummeting to their deaths on the ground below. With the knights handling the other thieves, the situation grew more and more in their favor. They were gaining control over the thieves and it seemed like things were going to turn out okay. Looking to the group of women behind her, some looked to Natalie is surprise, some in admiration, and others in disgusted. After all, blood magic did leave quite the bloody mess and the man that was impaled by the spike was still there. Natalie would wait until things were under control before she approached whoever was leading this small group of knights. |

There were a number of knight shot along the way, but the thieves suffered more casualties in comparison and in proportion. The thieves were hacked in by axes, swords, and spears. While some were skewered by arrows and knives through courtesy of Saito and Jason. The teenage knight private watched Natalie throw out several thieves to their deaths while skewering a few with her blood magic. "Note to self, don't piss off mages..." the teenager thought while dropping a cold sweat. Three were left as soon as Jason successfully and accurately shot between the eyes of a thief struggling with a jammed rifle. The last three, including the leader, attempted to shoot at the advancing knight corps as they were making their last stand. "Dammit! You--!" Two of them were silenced when Saito threw his last two throwing knives at their jugulars. The duo both got hit. One in the shoulder and the other in the jugular. Regardless, blood spilled out of their wounds, marking them as incapable for further combat for now... "GAAH!" The private took cover as soon as the remaining leader recklessly tried to waste bullets at him and the rest. Saito was lucky enough to find cover while the other three behind him weren't. He was going to peek out of his cover to only find bullets hitting on it. The teenager jerked his head back to prevent bullets in successfully hitting him. From his quick peek, one of the duo that was hit in the shoulder was still fighting while clutching his shoulder with one hand and holding a rifle in the other. Saito unsheathed his wakizashi in preparation to throw it at one of them. Edited by Saito, Nov 8 2011, 01:23 AM.

OoC The knights would make quick handy work of the remaining thieves. All but two of them were taken down or killed. The situation was just about under control and would be completely once the last two were taken care of. This would be done very simply. Natalie would form a Blood Ball in her hand and stick a finger from her free hand within it. Then, with a flick, she flung out two small slashing waves of blood at the two. Each would soar across the thieves' necks and their throats would be slit. Inaudible cursing would be all that they had left to do as they bleed out and fell to their knees. They were done for. The confrontation was over for now. Looking to the knights, Natalie said nothing and instead turned to the broken windows. One of the straps on her dress would fall over her shoulder as her kimonos often did. The party-goers would rush to each other after such a horrible experience and bloody scene. Praise and joy would be given to the knights as their saviors. The one guy that asked Natalie to dance before would walk over to her with a smile. "That was...a mighty fine job there... Such a small and cute mage." He said, still trying to break the ice. However, there would be no chance for a response as the building would soon rumble and the wall of the floor they were on with the broken windows would suddenly explode away. Outside the windows was a hovering airship with four magic cannons aimed and poised at the ballroom. Whatever was attacking them wasn't down and the ballroom needed to be evacuated. |

Spoiler: click to toggle The battle was over. The blood mage finished the job. Saito gulped and nodded towards her direction. The party attendees were giving much praises for their heroic actions. A number of privates were already out to get the wounded to their needs while some tried to keep the situation under control. The teenage private sighed and sheathed his katana and wakizashi back inside their respective sheathes after he wiped the blood of their steely edges with a small white cloth snug inside his pants pocket. He put the red stained cloth back inside and felt a tremor. "Shit! What now?!" Saito cursed as the tremor was getting stronger. He deduced it was outside of the broken windows and saw an airship with four of its magic cannons aimed at them. "Shit! Everyone get out of here!" Saito roared at all the party-goers, knights, and the blood mage. Every person in the room panicked and tried to make a run for it through the entrance. However, it may not be likely that they would be able to get out of here quick enough. Saito still stayed to see no one was inside and noticed Natalie. "Let's go, mage! We gotta get out of here!"
