Glancing back over his shoulder at the sound of splashing footsteps - someone approaching through the shallows, Blitz swearing to knock the guy out if it was the explosion mage again - only to see his brief companion running up from behind, seeming slightly out of breath. "Sorry about that, I didn't think I was that fast," he said as he gave Oberan a chance to catch his breath. "But I'm glad you decided to help me with the chains. I could use a lookout, at the very least, assuming that whoever's guarding the chain from any attempts to repair it is probably still there." Walking onward with his companion, he made his way down the street, noting the low level of water in the streets - hopefully he could fix the chain back to normal, or at least enough to support its own weight so that he wouldn't end up having to swim to the other chains to fix them. Heading southeast, he turned down the street that lead to where the south eastern chain was anchored, peering for any signs of the enemy. |

ATTENTION EVERYONE From the center, the woman mage of Raven Tail noticed she was being focused and let herself smile a little. The man who had the explosions was down one weapon and the woman from earlier had fled but was apparently rushing back in. What's more the strange mind attack had failed quite easily and had distracted two of her potential enemies to rush around the area here -yes, she could sense them all- and then another attack was launched, this one a magical burst of some kind that would probably sting more than a little if it was left unchecked and able to hit her. She considered blocking it with her other arm, but she didn't particularly want to reveal all of her capabilities just yet, so instead she tensed her legs, waiting until knight girl and magical attack were within distance of one another before leaping high into the air, easily topping ten metres which was enough to incidentally dodge the bullets that were fired at her as well. What was even more strange was that she stopped in mid-air, standing there quite calmly and with a smile on her face as she looked down. "Come now children," she said as a large silver ring appeared around her left clenched fist, the scythe in her right hand glinting in the sunlight, "I hope at least one of you can fly." Center Mage Fight In the South-West corner the man smiled as the two rats continued to attack him, the ball he had redirected exploding overhead. Pity, he had wanted to use that against them later, but this would be fine as the boy sent a ring of what looked like lightning at him after changing his equipment. Oh, he was an ex-quipper, that was amusing, this would be easier now that he knew their abilities. Equipment and blood... good. The lightning ring was redirected with a flick of one finger, hitting the ground instead and slamming through it, burning through the stones and down to the foundations of the island where a surge of energy from this man made it blow up, rocking the base of the island a little as one more key foundation was destroyed. The incoming spear blows were easy to avoid too, he simply dodged around them, eyes wide and a grin on his face as he waited for the effects of what he had just done. It didn't take long and as the other man tried to close the distance with some kind of blade and his scythe things again, the water exploded upwards from the hole this man had made, fountaining upwards and blocking the incoming attack just enough for the redirecting mage to alter the flow and slam it down in between him and the other two, giving him enough time to turn and run as more and more water burst onto the ground here from the huge fountain rising upwards. "Fun!" he said as he leaped onto a rooftop, "Let's pla-" He cut off though as a sword nearly cut him in half, and it was only because he drew his own that he blocked it. He was fighting for his life now, a tall and silent woman with a long sword slashing against him time and time again and he grew annoyed then concentrated as he tried to survive. And the woman? Well on the back of her neck was a Tartaros tattoo. South-West Mage Fight In each corner of the city the sinking was slowing now, despite the fact that city-wide the water was now at least 1' deep on literally everyone. Yes, everyone was now 1' in water if you were standing on the ground as the Raven Tail Mages had succeeded at least a little in their plan, but Tartaros was engaging them. In each corner the A-Ranked Raven Tail Mages were fighting A-Ranked Tartaros Mages as well as their other foes, and only one A-Ranked Mage from Tartaros was missing, a man with the potential power to alter this entire war... ATTENTION EVERYONE

Kazuya was taken more or less by complete surprise as Alexis double slapped him from both sides simultaneously. The action didn't hurt as such, although it did sting momentarily, it was more the shock of it that made him step backwards instinctively. "Don't just go about pushing people and then pretending to die only actually not. It makes some people worry." She gave him a stern look following this statement that left him unsure if she was angry at him or not. Trust a girl to get angry at you for saving them... but not in a way that was 100% convenient for them He thought with a hidden smirk and mental eye roll. Thankfully, any uncertainty on that front was dispelled as she places a hand on his shoulder (a hilarious sight given their height difference) and said, "I'm glad to see that your alright." In response, Kazuya moved her hand from his shoulder and placed it so that it was over her own heart. "I'm touched by your concern, although I can't help but notice it only took you 30 seconds without me to get on the wrong end of something sharp and pointy." Now the purpose for moving her hand became apparent as it prevented her from striking him again before he had a chance to step back and get away from any potential lashing out. However it seemed that common sense would now assert itself for a while as Alexis decided to return their collective attention to the matter at hand, you know, the sinking city and all that jazz. "Okay so now that the minor break is over, we need to stop this sinking issue. First thing we should do is find Aiden and Ecclair. I'm sure we'll be able to find some way to stop this thing if we just thought about it." Kazuya raised a hand to his mouth, as though he was pondering her words. In reality though, he was hiding a smile at her comment on solving this issue through thinking about it. if there was anything he knew about how villains operated, it was that boss fights were inevitable. Before they addressed that issue however, Kazuya had noticed that as they walked it was becoming more and more irritating thanks to the rising water level. On a more practical level, any combat they were to engage in would be disadvantageous if they had to be able to move quickly. "Alright, so we'll head west and look for Ecclair and Aiden, but first I think we should get to higher ground, this whole water level rising thing is getting on my nerves." He said, his eyes alighting on a fire escape annexed on to the side of an alley between two nearby buildings. "There's our ticket up", he noted triumphantly as he led the march towards it. 60 seconds later, he stood atop the flat roof of the building and did a slow turn to take in the city from his new elevated viewpoint. Towards the center of the city, several hundred meters away, explosions and pillars of fire could be seen. Not exactly appealing to the young knight, but obviously a point of interest in the scheme of things. To the Southwest, closer than the other fight but no more appealing was an explosion followed by a pillar of water shooting up over the tops of the buildings. Things were evidently beginning to heat up, but where should the two Privates go? They could deliver the hurt to D rank mages and under the right conditions even give a C rank mage something to think about, but ultimately they were not equipped to fight anything higher without aid. It was a bitter reality, but reality none the less. Turning to Alexis once she made it to the rooftop beside him, he shrugged helplessly and gestured around the city. "Where should we go?" He hoped to god that Alexis came to the same conclusion as him and would opt for a non- suicidal course of action such as evacuating civilians via the boats that were ferrying people from the islands to the nearby mainland, or searching for D rank mages causing mischief and making them think twice. But if she decided to go and investigate one of the two larger scale fights, he would follow- for all the good it would do. He wouldn't leave his friends to die alone, no matter how stupid and pointless the death may be. |

Oberon frowned, he could feel the water against his legs. He could still move but he was slightly hampered as he trudged through the water. It was official this place was sinking and the bottom portion of it was underwater, which meant that it would only be a matter of time before the entire place sank. They still had some time on their side however as for the moment they could still walk, "For how long though?" Yin asked with a touch of concern in his voice, how sweet. Oberon shrugged who knew how long it would be until the water would be three stories high and there would be no hope for the city of Coreopsis. The fact of the matter was that they still had time. Although it was a bit of a problem moving around as there was some debris and small pieces of trash floating around, and god knew what the sewers meant as he would have to take one hefty shower after all of this for sure, "ain't that the truth" Yang joked. Oberon smiled lightly there was still hope even though he was a dark mage, perhaps Yin was just altering him slightly as he interacted. Damn, he had better not be going soft all of a sudden. That left a sour taste in his mouth as he continued along the city. His jeans were drenched and he considered taking them off before deciding not too as they would prove a buffer despite the already flooding city. "We got to close that hole and fast" Oberon said to Blitz who had hopefully taken notice of the increase of water. The question was, just where exactly was the hole! It was a question he had not yet thought about as they had been busy with Takashi but now that he thought about it more the possibility started to form in his head that perhaps there were multiple holes that were causing Coreopsis to sink. They might seal off one nearby but the Raven Tail mages would only create more until Coreopsis was one giant city of Atlantis. Oberon sighed, he would just have to hope for the best, as for right now Tartaros wasn't looking so good as Raven Tail continued to smash the city into the lake beneath it. That was another thing though, what if the hole was guarded by some formidable mage! "I thought you were the strongest mage in all Fiore?" Yang said rubbing into his face the fact that he was admitting that there was someone out there better then him. "Yang my boy you obviously weren't listening to me, i said BE the greatest mage i Fiore not am" he said as he pushed a floating box out of the way as he trudged along with Blitz to the next chain and hopefully the next gap where the two of them could seal off the hole that was flooding the city. Only time would tell however as the duo continued their trek through the waterlogged streets of Coreopsis. Summary

Excel had trekked some distance away from Alastor now. She hated being so far from her master, but knew it had to be done if they were going to stop the silly war and the chaos with it. Excel suddenly spotted a strange man talking to himself. A winged man with a dark feeling coming from him.(Oberon) Excel decided to confront him. Hey you! Birdy guy! Stop right there! Are yoooooou behind all this madness? Are you a baddie? Answer Excel at once! Excel waded through the foot of water as she hurried closer, the bone boosters on her back straining as the water slowed her movements a bit. She was still faster than she normally would be, but not as fast as she could be with the boosters. She finally caught up with the winged guy, running along side him. Didja not hear Excel? Are you one of the baddies sinking the city? 'Cause if you are, Excel's gonna have to beatcha up! Excel kept running beside the winged man, awaiting the answer. It probably wasn't wise of her to confront a potential dark mage without Alastor, but she did have Shadow with her, so if anything did happen, Shadow could protect her. Shadow was extremely strong, so she really didn't have anything to fear, thus making her fears irrelevant. She just kept running beside the winged guy, aiming to get answers. |

Who's freaky now?
|
Fear. An emotion he had never felt so much before this. All this demonic energy, these dark intentions, the look on their faces, the enjoyment plaguing the atmosphere everywhere he looks. Was this really the same Coreopsis he had slept in a few hours ago? Originally, he had only been planning on staying here to check out the scenery, as he wanted to bring Kuro here sometime. He felt bad being treated all the time that he thought that if he were the one to treat Kuro this time, they would be equal again. Now, seeing all this, waking up to this, and telling people in the inn he was in to not panic since he could protect them, since he is a mage, made him wish he was a lot braver, more courageous. But in the end, he was just another 14 year old teenager who was a lot more prone to being afraid and running away than anyone else. Should he high-tail away from the town or should he stay, despite knowing how powerful these mages are. Why they didn't run away, he doesn't know. Neither will that help in his self-imposed mission to protect these people. They were all on the second floor, most of them, including himself, were either afraid or blissfully ignorant. The thundering roar of magic flying everywhere, damaging nearby buildings, made them hold on to each other. Koujirou felt no different except that he would have to feign bravery for all of them. "Where are all those light mages and Knights? This inn isn't going to stay up for long." No sooner had he said it that an explosion hit the first floor, causing people to shriek in panic, asking him questions, telling him to check it out. He nodded at them and went downstairs to check. Slowly, cautiously, his senses heightened to levels he had never experienced before, the hair on his back standing stiff. What he saw made him shake his head. This will be most difficult, he thought to himself. There was a huge gaping hole. A magic of some sort hit the wall and exploded, a few flames creeping on what remains of the wall. He surely hoped the inn won't give in or fall. The boy let out a weak stream of sand, just enough to kill the flames, hoping his release won't attract him attention. "War. This is why I hate it. Innocent lives aren't spared at all and all we can do is cower in fear, hoping to survive." he muttered to himself, checking if any flames are still on. Water was already one foot deep and he wasn't too sure if that will be the end of it. Some people stubbornly refused to go up, ignorantly believing their feeble strength could stand up to such dangers. Hope is good, if not life threatening. Nonetheless, he checked on them, nodding at them, hoping none of them are injured. "All of you okay?" Nobody was injured it seems as they all nodded a yes. Most of them, he observed, were makeshift weapons. Pots, pans, skillets, anything metal, wooden, or hard enough to hurt. He shook his head and went upstairs. "Its just a hole in the wall. Don't worry, I took care of it." they began asking him so many questions in panic, questions he doesn't have the answer to. "I don't know. Let's just hope for the best. I'll use everything in my power to protect all of you, I swear it." he muttered, feigning fierce determination while he was shaking inside. 'I hope it will be enough.' he sadly thought, looking out the window, hoping for a sign of the end of all this madness, of all this violence. |

Steel your mind. Run on instinct.

Luckily for her Ecclair had been paying attention to what was going on around her, stopping her forwards assault towards the enemy mage just in time to leap backwards and avoid her partner’s oncoming assault on the woman the pink haired knight looked up to see him standing atop of a building with a small scoff. Was he really that scared of water that he had to hide on the rooftops? Feeling the cool sensation of the water that lapped at her feet rising the knight began to see that the situation was getting more and more urgent, the time to take this woman down was now and there was no longer any time to waste. Knowing full well that the water around her would hinder her movement and therefore slow her ability to dodge incoming attacks and launch her own Ecclair decided that she would try to remain out of sight and launch a counterattack against her should the opportunity arise. Taking off to her right in a manner they would most likely appear to be a retreat to those around her the knight didn’t bother to tell them she wasn’t doing so, announcing her plans to the enemy would just be stupid after all. Entering the opposite the building that Aiden was standing atop the pink haired knight made haste to make it to the top but she wasn’t going to be making it there as quickly as she had planned, hearing voices coming from the level above her as she made her way up the stairwell of the place Ecclair was lucky enough to get a heads up on the attack that was coming her way. Raising her shield just in time to bat away an oncoming fire ball with a swing of her arm it seemed that the Bellumese warrior had found herself a few mages and weak ones at that if the fire ball she sent flying was anything to judge by. “Why don’t you throw yourselves down the stairs and save the trouble of beating you senseless hmm?”, Did Ecclair really want the mages to get rid of themselves? While it might have saved her some time it sure as heck wasn’t going to be as enjoyable, so yeah you guessed it this knight wasn’t giving the mages a chance to think over her offer. Charging forwards up the stairs and turning the corner Ecclair’s aqua eyes locked onto the first of the mages that stood in her way, firing off a single shot of her weapon at the man as she continued her charge towards him she gained the valuable seconds that she needed to finish him off. Stunned by the electrical shot and unable to focus enough to fire a spell or to even move fast enough to dodge the fast knight attacking him the first of the D rank mages met a rather stern blow from the woman’s shield. Struck in the side of the head and with the full force of what Ecclair could muster the man stood no chance in avoiding the fall he had coming, knocked over the railing of the stairs and down the wide gap down the middle the man could be heard screaming until well he hit the floor many floors down where I’m sure we all know what happened there. Hearing their friends screams the other mages heads appeared over the edges of their respective floors with wide and shocked eyes upon their faces, many fearful and angry words were shouted out between the men as the woman that killed their friend continued her race towards the top of the building as they struggled to determine what to do and yet none ran just yet. Moments after the first mages meeting with the pink haired knight another was unfortunate enough to see her in their sights, this time however the mage that stood before her was not a fire element wielder. Charging towards the rather young looking boy Ecclair made the decision not to kill this one if she could help it, she didn’t get any pleasure from killing youth or the weak but honestly sometimes she just didn’t know her own strength and it’s not like she meant to knock the guy off the stairs or anything. Raising his hands out in front of him and reciting something in a language that the knight couldn’t understand the young dark mage created a powerful (well what he thought was powerful) blast of wind that left nowhere in the small narrow stairway for the knight to dodge, unfortunately as the wind hit the woman it didn’t effect her in quite the way that he had wanted it to. Ecclair stopped and prepared herself for the oncoming wind by bracing herself however as the wind struck her she could have burst into laughter, it did little more then rustle her hair and the feathers at her side and she just stood there looking at him with a rather deadpan expression on her face. Realising that his attack did absolutely nothing to the armoured woman in front of him the young mage smiled meekly before climbing over the rail of the staircase and dropping himself down the levels and fleeing, sure it might not have been what Ecclair had meant when she said throw yourself down the stairs but at least it got him out of her hair. Shrugging her shoulder before setting off once more up the stairs the Bellumese warrior was beginning to hope that at least one of the small fry might put up a bit of a fight at least. Summary

Slugging through the now foot deep water, Blitz was starting to think that this would take more time than the city had left, if the water kept rising at this rate. Hopefully this would slow down once Blitz fixed the south-eastern chain. Though "fix" was a rather fancy word for welding the chain shut. It'd need repairs to be a permanent fix later, but that could be solved at a later date - like when the city wasn't flooded with both water and invading dark guild members. Oberan seemed to share his sense of urgency with the task. Blitz didn't have much choice, either - seeing at he hadn't finished that underwater form yet. Slogging up to the chain, he clambered up the first few links, thankful to be out of the water if only by a couple of feet, and found the break-off point for the south-eastern chain. "Alright," he said, turning to Oberan, "tell me if you see anyone suspicious approaching, I'm going to try and meld the chain links back together." Without waiting for a full reply, Blitz turned back to the chain, shifting into his Forge Finisher Takeover as he grabbed a length of chain and pulled it as close as he could to the other one before letting flames spew forth from his hands, slowly but surely turning the metal a cherry red glow. Thickness of the metal is working against me, he thought, how the devil did those dark mages slice through it so easily? |

The Ace of Tartaros

Ryo watched as the woman evaded the attacks with a skill grace and battle prowess he had rarely seen in anyone. He grinded his teeth as he heard the screams of the citizens around the area. Looking at the ground he saw the water seeping over the city, they were losing,Ryo was losing,Tartaros, no. Coreopsis was falling, this was something Ryo couldn't allow, as a member of Tartaros and and as coreopsis as his home he would not be defeated here no matter the cost, no matter the oppenent he would save this town and everything in it. As the woman began to mock the other mages Ryo knew she would know he was there it only agrovated him more as he would close his eyes for a moment his own battle prowesss taking over his anger..... Charging forward he would slash forward drawing his lightning blade, she would only parry with her Katana and unleash a powerful spell from her other hand resulting Ryo falling to the ground. Attacking from behind drawing his blade mid charge She would dodge to the left and bring her scythe up and spin it toward Ryo smacking him away and disarming him with her finess. Attacking from below she would flip backward and recollect herself with a spell. Ryo's eyes slowly openned as the scenrios had played out in his mind in that moment. He had a plan of attack. Charging forward in a dash Ryo would start to spin using his flight manuver abiltiy to the max as he starting to draw his blade, however before getting to the woman a magic circle would form at his feet. Possibly to reknew his flight that was would soon go out. Pushing at full speed Ryo would say " Wyvern Twister! " calling for the spell a wyvern of flame appeared from the magic circle and spiral around Ryo, unlike normal however it didnt creat a tornado of flame that sucked everyone into it, Ryo being to the side and aiming it to the side while spinning made the tornado transforminto a tunnel of flame that would spin toward the woman at alarming speed. As the flames shot in front of Ryo, he would toss his arms out to the side. " Massacre wisps, imbue " he would say as his wisps summoned forth drawing his other 4 blades. His blade in his hand now engulfed in flames he rushed forward as the flames on his feet started to vanish. Using what momentum Ryo had left he would strike with his enflamed Sword toward the woman as she would either stand ant take the blast or dodge the flames, his strike was percise as he aimed at the lower area of her clothing on her chest and hip. Before plummeting However before falling free style Ryo landed slightly on his hovering blades as they form a slight platform for a moment as Ryo landed them lowering quickly as they couldnt hold the blade and Ryo's wieght he would jump of once balancing out to a roof top below, however having not grace Ryo would fall roughly and roll a bit around on the rooftop. Coughly slight he would take his gaze back up to the woman as his wisps charged at her from the front. " Lets see d'em big ole titties of yours eh? " he would say with a devilish grin on his fast as RYo true aim was not to harm the Raven Tail mage but expose her, however his reason for this would hopfully catch on to his tempory allies as Ryo was trying to distrubt the womans sense by flustering, embarresing or panicing her. However this tactic against a foe so great costed Ryo a fair amount of power to unleash a combo so destructive. Moving on down the street, the rising water levels became more and more of an issue. At first it was just a large puddle that caused no more annoyance then a splash on yourself or a slip if you were running. Then the water rose a little more and became something you couldn't take large strides in so easily. It was now to the point where every step was a loud and irritating slosh through the water which cause water to splash against her leg in the most irritating way. Continuing through the streets was not going to be an option for much longer at this rate, not that it was much of one now where any need to give chase would go on at a snail's pace. Kazuya pointed out a fire escape on the side of an alley to get them to higher grounds. It made sense to get up high for a view of the city, plus it got them out of this water which had reduced Alexis's patience for liquids to a near minimum. Plus so long the roofs stayed flat and somewhat close to one another it would be simple to hop across them all and get around the city without every having to touch the ground. Then again if they were to jump early or with not enough force then it would be a painful fall. Well they can always hope that by the time that happens the water will have reached up high enough so it's like preforming a poorly executed dive into a pool. A quick climb up the red ladder, lead by Kazuya, and the pair arrived on top of the flat roof. Slowly turning around it was quite easy to see the broad view of what was happening in the city. Near the center of the city, a good distance away, were explosions and columns of fire. Fire: hot, could burn, singed her clothes and hair and it was generally frowned upon to put the substance on you skin. Yeah that was on her list of things to avoid for as long as possible. Turning her view a bit to the Southwest another large commotion, a closer distance this time, was underway. An explosion was quickly followed with a pillar of water shooting up near the sky. Both those areas looked a little of rank for either of the Privates. Still being knights they couldn't just whip out lawn chairs and take a nice sip of tea while watching the epic brawls go down. They could help out civilians, but with the water rising as slow as it was they ought to be smart enough to get out. Plus they live on a group of small islands that can evidently be flooded quite easily, shouldn't they have an emergency plan for this sort of thing? Then the ones around the commotion, well Alexis was sure that the higher ranked knights were handling it quite well. The idea of picking on a few D ranked mages or a C ranked mage was a fun idea to toy around with in Alexis's head. It just felt like a more direct way of handling this war better. Taking out their forces would make some leeway in this war. Helping out the people, while noble, wouldn't help this come to an end any sooner. There were sure to be other knights like Kara who would be doing that, and Alexis was certain Kara was all over that department. From their vantage point it was hard to see any small group of mages causing a disturbance. Though in this situation hearing an old lady yell that her purse was being stolen would be hard since there were explosion going on around the city. Though it was quite easy to look to the right (Northwest of where Alexis was standing) then you could see a few smaller explosions going on. A group of three figures, too far away to see anything more specific, were making their way to the center of the city, though they were very much lollygagging. "Well I don't really feel like dying today, plus we would probably just get in the way of some of those other fights, but I do see three little dark mages over in that direction we can take care of." |
