Kazuya got up from off his back and thanked her. She smiled, pleased with herself. Not only had she manged to save his life, but she had also gotten off a few nice shots into the dark mages. The adrenaline must have helped her aim as Alexis wasn't sure if she would be able to pull that off again. The timing had been spot on between the two, and not to toot their collective horns, but they made a pretty sweet combination just now. The local authorities arrived and the four members of the Fantabulous Phantasm were taken away, knees wrecked for life. At this point Alexis took a breathe of relief. They had just been in a two on four fight against dark mages. True that they were D-rank and about as lame as any mage could be in terms of both magic and personality, but just the same they were four dark mages against two knights, and the knights won. That was something to feel proud about and it was surely something that Alexis would boost about to Makie and the others. Speaking of which, she wondered how her friends were doing. They were sent to patrol some other parts of Coreopsis and while before when nothing going on, Alexis was sure they were fine, but now she hoped that they didn't get ambushed by anyone too strong. Jacquelin would certainly be able to hide herself away, and with the perfect circumstances even be able to get the other two hidden as well. Makie was strong on her own and could handle herself in a fight so long as the numbers weren't outrageous. Kara specialized in the medical fields of the knights, but she privately practiced fighting so she wouldn't be helpless. Still Alexis didn't want to have them fight at all. Once they met up with Ecclair and Aiden she would have to go to the other island and look for them. Alexis was walking without really thinking, it wasn't until she nearly slipped and fell that her focus came back. Catching herself before she fell face first into the water, she looked around to see if anyone saw. The knight took an inward breath of relief when she saw that no one was looking. At the same time she became aware that the ground was flooding with water. Only a little bit of it currently, but it was rising. Then the knight realized that she had been absentmindedly following Kazuya to the end of the street where a bridge should have been to connect them to the next island, but it was gone. Well not one in any useable condition. Looking down into the water she could see the remains of the violently destroyed bridge. Sinking the island.... Raven Tail was going to stop at nothing to take out Tartaros. Even if it meant that they would take a major city off the face of Fiore not to mention the innumerable amount of people residing in town on top of the additional knights sent to secure the place. It was ridiculous! Up until now Alexis had just thought that they were going to openly brawl and that they should keep the causalities to a minimum, but Raven Tail was taking it to another level. Clearly they had strong members in their ranks and after seeing what they could do to the bridge, Alexis didn't want to be ambushed by one. The city sinking was a pretty big deal. It was after all A CITY SINKING! Aiden and Ecclair would have to be aware of this and hopefully they were handling it. The question was what her and Kazuya should do. The private wasn't keen on trying to stop the B and A rank mages from running rampant so it seemed that getting civilians to a safe place would be the best thing to do. Though where was a safe place when all around them water was raising? Kazuya turned towards her, explaining a plan he had come up with. "If they're sinking the islands we need to make sure the other Knights know about it. If we go this way then we should be able to-" he was rudely shut up by a loud screech coming from above them. Turning, her hands covering her ears, she saw the rain of meteors come down at her and Kazuya. Alexis was planning on trying to dive back or just plain run from the debris, but suddenly she felt something roughly push her away. Floating through the air as she was pushed back, Alexis saw Kazuya standing there for only a moment. In the second that lasted a lifetime she saw him standing, hand on his sword and an odd smile on his face, a cold chill ran through Alexis, and then an awful combination of rock, brick, and tile covered his position. He couldn't escape from that; there was no way. Alexis landed and quickly stood back up. Alexis's thinking was that if she ran over fast enough then she could get the destroyed building off of him and then maybe he would still be alive. He would be hurt, but she could treat it and everything would be alright again. She could make her smart remarks and Kazuya could come back with his witty little comebacks and things would be dandy. His body wouldn't be a smashed mess beneath the tons of rubble; it would be up, slowly walking about with the uncaring look that usually was on his face. Before she could go and look for him, a mage wearing a black cloak came down in front of her. His hair was a deep red and cut short while his eyes were a shade of pine green. The bold insignia on his cloak gave himself away as a Raven Tail mage and considering he came down from the collapsed building Alexis quickly connected the dots that he was responsible for the blast. "Damn, looks like I only got one of you. Now I have to get my hands dirty", he said with a tone of irritating. The tone he used like it was a huge inconvenience for him to have only been able to taken out one of them was like a knife wound to Alexis. How could he not have any remorse, how could he not understand that he just took away an unique and individual soul from the world? Alexis felt her face turn red with slight rage as the man erupted a long red scythe from his hands. "Don't worry about your friend, you'll see him real soon. I promise", he said before taking a swing at her with his weapon. Moving, but not in the direction she really wanted, Alexis avoided the blade by hopping back. The mage was quick to spin the scythe just a bit and come down with a vertical swing which she avoided with a hop to the side. This time, though, the blade let off a small explosion which blew her back a little. Alexis was about ten feet diagonally from his left after the blast. Eyes narrowing, it was time she decided to start attacking. Flipping out her guns from their holsters Alexis took aim. Really the reasoning part of her mind told her to conserve ammo since she used a fair amount in the last clash, but getting close to him wasn't possible at the moment so attacking from afar was her only choice. Both arms extended, guns ready to fire, she was about to fire off four bullets aimed for his chest/face but the mage made an explosion from his scythe which blocked her sight. Unable to take the shot she made her way closer to the rubble, keeping an eye on the cloud that covered the mages last position. She was intent on getting Kazuya, but this mage was making things more difficult. She was about three feet away from the remains of the building when she suddenly froze. Without turning her head she could feel that somehow the Raven Tail mage snuck up behind her, his presence weighing over her like a ton of bricks. Time slowed as she turned her head, her wide eyes looking right at the scythe blade being swung at her head. |

Excel's eyes widened as C'thun suddenly disintegrated in her hands. Her eyes welled with tears, she hugging the dust particles while crying hysterically, the girl making a bit of a scene. OH C'THUN!!!! WHYMUSTPEOPLEHURTMASTERALASTOR'SC'THUUUUUUUUUN?!?! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!! Such a fuss she made. An unintentional distraction as the girl sobbed in her fists over the destroyed doll. Alastor trusted her and she failed. While she cried, she missed what Alastor said about the woman, but when he called her name, her hysterics stopped almost instantly, she standing and saluting while he told her to scout around with Shadow. She nodded and rushed Alastor, hugging him tightly after he put the bone boosters on her. She gave him a short kiss before running off with Shadow, she moving at a high rate of speed compared to her usual speed. She wasn't going to let Alastor down this time. She wanted to make him proud of her. She glanced down to see Shadow travelling along side her, she rushing off to seek whatever she was meant to find. If it were mages, Shadow would help her fight, or she could run away with her new speed booster gift from her Master. either way, she had to do what she had to do. |

"Its quiet.....too quiet" Yin said as he looked around through Oberon's vision. He had no idea if Blitz was following him or not but right now he had for keep his mind on what was going on in front of him, not if his temporary partner was keeping up or not. "Yeah, its weird. Like one of those old westerns where theres no one standing in the street because there's going to be a.....showdown" Oberon said as he noticed the large amount of birds that were sitting on the top of he roofs. Well, that wasn't creepy at all. "Hell yeah it is! Have you ever seen the birds!" Yang said in his head. It was strange though because Yang's body beside his head could scarily be compared to a birds, he felt his wings retract instinctively as he looked up at the rooftops. Well there was no one else on the street with could only mean good things as he continued to wade through the water which was actually becoming a slight concern as the city was now obviously sinking. "If you see a lightning mage, don't hesitate just get out of the water" Yin said in his mind too which Oberon nodded, "If there were a lightning mage we would all be dead right now" Yang said in a matter of fact tone. That still didn't help his nerves as there really was not anything that he felt could calm his nerves right now, he was just waiting for an ambush. "True, it is oftley quiet, hopefully that means everyone made it out of the city okay" Yin said. Damn! He had forgotten all about the emergency transports as he was busy fighting Takashi with Blitz back at the plaza! "Well there goes our chance of getting of this sinking ship, i mean city" He said as he realized that now without the transports there would be no way to get off of the city as he would most likely drown unless he stopped the dark mages doing this. Fat chance, they could squash guys like him in a heartbeat; "What are we chopped liver?" Yang said in an annoyed tone as Oberon stopped and looked around at the entrance to a subway which by now had flooded completely, "So much for taking the subway" Yin said before chuckling slightly. Oberon smiled gently, despite the situation he was in it was always nice to have the two spirits with him to make him feel brave. "Any time kid" Yang said before cackling loudly. He sighed as he turned back to see if there was anyone behind him, as far as he could tell though the east side of the city was okay, although appearances could be mighty deceiving...... summary

Ryo would growl lightly as his attacked were all but shrugged off. However what he would preseave and know now more so then the others around him, was this woman could read attacks and see through magic. Ryo would be able to only come to this simple conclusion due to the fact that she not only saw through his blast zone spell but also was able to tell which blade was the real blade to stop in his mirror blade spell that would have quad hit her other wise. What made Ryo realize this woman was powerful was something completely else, the fact she took his blow with a single bracer and used its magical properties to stop his magic shredding chainsaw. Disarming him however wouldn't render him helpless. As she held the blade in his direction seeming to toy with him Ryo would only smirk staring back at her dead in the eyes. His eyes were full of determination a determination unknown to Raven Tail it wasn't confidence or determination for a goal but blind determination of spirit that held Tartaros firm. The spirit that no matter what happen no matter the cost you fought with all you had. As the pink knight attack along with the help of another ally followed by a assault from mages. Ryo seeing this moment as a chance would shoot upward into the sky being that his speed buff spell was still in effect. Slipping out of the woman's range would be helpful but not a victory or even a good sign. Ryo would dash backward out of the barrage of attacks. He already knew this surely wouldn't bring down this mage, her power, no her senses were to great to be beaten with suprise attacks because Ryo's assumption was there was no suprise attacks for her to consider suprise. Getting a safe distance away Ryo would take a deep breathe to channel his magical energies for a moment awaiting the out come of the allied assault. |

Blitz followed the takeover mage through the flooded streets, oddly glad to see that no one else was around, as it meant that everyone had escaped safely to the emergency escape ferries that were placed to give citizens a quick exit in a time of crisis - and this definitely counted as a crisis. Walking through the water - which was noticeably higher than when they first ran into the explosion mage - Blitz said, "We can worry about getting out of here later. We need to stop the city from sinking into the depths first. I say we head to the south-east chain - start with one and work our way around until we find some way to stop or at least slow down the sinking process to buy us some time." Walking in a south-east direction, he said over his shoulder, "If you'd rather help check for any remaining citizens that need help or simply stay out the action, either is fine by me, but I'm going to try and do what I can for the city as a whole - if you want to follow me, awesome, if not, don't worry about it." said Blitz, waving a hand without looking back. The citizens keeping their socks dry would be small comfort if the entire city sunk with all their homes aboard it. He tried to think of a plan to stop the sinking, or slow it. Maybe if i can find the breakage point on the chain I can use Forge Finisher's flame to weld it shut again. But I can't do that underwater, so if it gets submerged, then I'll be short on both time and options, he thought, picking up his pace as he sped towards the next chain on foot. |

The fight between Ryu and Yahma had being going for a 15 minutes now. Between high class fighters this might as well be an entire day... A entire section of the merchant district had been level by the titatnic clash between the two martial artists, Yahma's Jusokei and Ryu's Hadoken had turned the merchant section into their own personal war zone. Ryu who had a first the advantage of the Shun Goku Satsu, underestimated Yahma's own craftiness and experience against the move so she has manage to overcome his advantage of having that lehtal technique at his call but on the same side, Yahma's own technique couldn't put down Ryu for good and she could only use her Jusokei sparingly or he would use the Shun Goku Satsu against her. It was a stalemate in every sense of the word and thus it became a battle of attrition. The one that could use their ougi to take the opponent's life first without being hit by the opponent's would win and so the battle continued... Ryu kicked at her lower ribs with his right leg only to have his own leg caught by Yahma as she charged inside his range and preformed a trusting head butt, sending Ryu reeling back against a broken wall. Yahma was panting yet yet her eyes remained strong as Ryu quickly snapped back upright and rushed her, smashing his eblow into her bloodied face the back handing her with the same arm in one fluid motion sending the yato against a wall, and was about to unleash a hadouken against her only to find his demonic chi had long since run out, his body was tired, exhausted and couldn't produce enough chi to preform the technique....but same was his opponent as he noticed Yahma couldn't even use her iron shirt anymore "Damn...woman...just die...already!" "Never!" Yahma had never fought anyone for this long, she always being able to defeat and overcome any style trough her perfect hung gar yet, this demon had left her severely wounded and had been able to match her blow to blow into the bitter end, Yahma doubted she could even last a minute more of this bout yet, Yahma found it within herself, the strength to endure the searing pain she was feeling as she couldn't give up now! Yahma had to win, no demon would ever best her even if it mean dying in the process!...Her hand clenched against the stone as she pushed herself straight and assumed a shaky fighting stances as she willed herself to gather more chi from the world around her, a mighty proof of her will and drive to defeat this demon as she activate one of her families most forbiden feng shui techniques. They weren't combat techniques persay but more of an ideology and mind state that allowed a guan seong to burn some years of life as power. Her eyes turning completely white , yahma roared as her body was filled with a last burst of energy "Guan Seong Feng Shui. Circle of Phoneix!" Ryu eyes widened as she notied yahma's Chi returning to her and shouted at her as he charge, not willing to let Yahma make him taste defeat. His rage once more brought a final whisper of demonic chi as both warrior got ready for the final clash as Yahma activate her jusokei over her fist, only having enough power to cover her right one as she charged against Ryu, who responded by charging against her with the shun goku satsu ready "You will die, Yato! Shun Goku Satsu!" "You will be crushed, Demon! This is the Fist of my Soul!" Both attacks met. Chi exploded in a massive blast of purified white energy as Yato had actually punched trough 'the' shun goku satsu stance and make it fireback against the demon by disrupting his chi flows with her own. Ryu was recieving a taste of his own medicine along with Yahma's own technique. Needless to say he died instantly. Yahma was hurled by the explosion trough several builds and walls but she was smiling for she had emerged victorious, the yato in her had not failed her and she managed to overcome the most powerful demon yet. She had no regret and could use a rest so once her body finally stopped against the wall of an apartment. Yahma coughed some blood as she registered her own damage, she wouldn't be moving for a while...her strength was fading but she could use the nirvana touch to protect herself from the touch of death. So striking her own vital points with her own technique and crawling shakily to a large wardrobe that was in the room she found herself. She knew staying in the open was asking to never again be awake so she crawled inside the wardrobe and close it and only then Yahma finally submitted to her exhaustion with a single phrase running trough her lips before the restorative coma began. "Brother...where are you?" summary Edited by Jossle, Oct 15 2011, 08:53 AM.

~In the moments before the debris fell~ Kazuya smiled, not because he was about to die but because the huge pile of rubble that looked like it was about to crush him... wasn't going to crush him at all. Tightening his grip on Dusk, he activated it's ability and in the same heartbeat that he'd been standing in the path of the rubble, he was now ten meters further back down the street with a pile of rubble some 5 meters high now separating himself from Alexis whilst dust permeated the air. Reattaching the sheathed Dusk at his side, Kazuya approached the rubble and sighed as he saw there was no way to get around it. He was going to have to climb it. He opened his mouth in preparation to shout over the pile of rocks to inform Alexis that he was alright and not a bloodied, battered pancake. However he heard someone speaking and shortly afterwards, gunshots. That doesn't sound good... he thought, feeling the first hints of worry for his fellow knights as he began to climb with a little more haste than before. Although it wasn't a long climb, the footing was precarious and it took him almost 30 full seconds to reach the top. Once there, he crouched and looked down at the scene before him. A man clad in black with red hair stood with his back to him, Scythe raised over head to strike... Kazuya's eyes widened and his stomach was filled with a sinking feeling as he realized Alexis who was on her knees before him. Now unless the pair had become bestest friends in the 30 seconds he'd been waylaid, she was about to be decapitated and that shit simply would not fly. Drawing Dusk, Kazuya rose from his crouch and took a single step forwards; his expression void of any of it's usual laid back air; his eyes dangerous. ***** Zack grinned wickedly as he drew back his scythe over his shoulder in preparation to bring an end to the life of the female knight who was kneeling before him. "Don't you fret, this won't hurt a bit... Probably", he crowed as he began to bring the scythe back in an arc that would relieve Alexis of her head. However his blow was brought to a very sudden halt before it could even travel half the distance and a cold voice spoke behind him. "But this will... Definitely" Zack was halfway through turning around to face the speaker and had just enough time to see a hand clamped firmly on the scythes sheathe. Then he felt a fierce stabbing pain in his chest and his vision began to blur. Blinking dumbly, he looked down to see a black blade protruding from his chest. Suddenly, Zack couldn't seem to find the strength to maintain any sort of grip on his scythe. in fact, even breathing was suddenly a gargantuan task. Had he been running? That was strange, why couldn't he remember what he was doing? Or where he was for that matter. It was getting dark too... and cold... so very cold and then everything became darkness for the Raven Tail mage. Then the life left the C- rank mages eyes and he collapsed sideways to the ground to leave Kazuya standing in his stead. ***** Kazuya watched as the mage fell lifeless to the ground. He didn't feel any remorse for the man as he bled copiously from the wound in his chest and it mixed with the water. If it was ever a question if Kazuya had it in him to kill someone if necessary, that question was now put to rest and whether because of his synchronization with Okita or not, Kazuya didn't feel the least bit shaken. However his regular self quickly reasserted itself as he looked away from Zack's corpse and towards Alexis. Instantly, his momentary air of cool reliability faded away and was replaced by his usual harmless grin. Reaching out towards her to help her to his feet, he broke the silence before it could begin with one of his unique generic witticisms. "As much as I like seeing you on your knees, I think we should get going before any more buildings fall on us." |

In the split second moment that Alexis saw the scythe blade coming at her head, her life flashed before her eyes. From coming home to seeing her family murdered, to joining the academy, to meeting her friends, to the time they went to the haunted house and got so scared because of the glowing green suit of armor sitting in one corner of the house. She had gone out and had a blast of adventurers with Aiden and Kazuya, and it was saddening to think that it would end here, to some stupid dark mage. The knight had no time to react, no time to move. It was funny that after they had both taken out four dark mages one would just come along and take them both out. She closed her eyes, bracing for the point of the blade to pierce her skin, but instead she heard the words of a friend in her ears. "But this will... Definitely." Alexis opened her eyes and saw that Kazuya was standing there in front of her, alive and well. He stopped the scythes swing and landed a finishing stab into the dark mages chest. Painful blow for him, but she couldn't help but be thankful for his timely arrival. The mage fell, clearly passed from this world, and Kazuya was left standing in his place. His presence was far from his usual self where he usually gave off a laid-back and carefree aura he now had a cold dangerousness about him. It didn't last long, but it was impressive to see him finally take something seriously. His usual harmlessness came back to his surrounding air and that signature grin of his was plastered on his face as he walked towards her. He reached out to help her up and Alexis almost took his hand, but like normal Kazuya took opened his mouth. "As much as I like seeing you on your knees, I think we should get going before any more buildings fall on us." She paused, hand midway extended, and she crooked her head slightly with a devilish smirk on her face. Jumping up, Alexis was right in front of his face. In one fluid movement she slapped him with both sides of her hand, for good measure. "Don't just go about pushing people and then pretending to die only actually not. It makes some people worry." She gave an obviously pseudo angry look at him before letting out a sigh. She looked at him again with a soft smile and put her hand on his shoulder. "I'm glad to see that your alright." Alexis couldn't keep pretending to be mad at him, though within no time he would surely give her a reason on his own, and had to admit that she was glad to see the knight alive and not dead. Not only for saving her, but also it would be a little too quite without his smart remarks every few seconds. "Okay so now that the minor break is over, we need to stop this sinking issue. First thing we should do is find Aiden and Ecclair. I'm sure we'll be able to find some way to stop this thing if we just thought about it." Alexis looked around and with building remain blocking one path, not that it really lead anywhere, there was only one other real choice for them to take. There was an intersection connecting the street that they were on to some other part of the island. Leading the way, Alexis told Kazuya to follow her and then she began to run down the street. Alexis wasn't a huge klutz, but it seemed risky for someone to run through the streets while it was flooding. Just seemed like they would either slip on the water, or something would float down and take out their footing. Everything from the ankle down on Alexis' boots were turning a dark brown because of the water. Thankfully she spent a little extra jewels and had some that were nicely insulated to keep her feet warm, despite the cold water soaking in. As long as the water didn't start to suddenly rise she figured it would be fairly easy to navigate around the city. If got to their knees then the real issue would start. To mush through the water would just be a damn huge inconvenience, not to mention that any dark water mages would have a field day picking on the knights. It's times like these that she wished her boots would let her just walk on top of water or really anything that wasn't a solid like steam or water, not air of course because that's just hax. Ah, the items on her wishlist for Santa, who totally uses present magic (T1) by the way. Any who now wasn't the time to be focusing on wishes, now was the time they needed to find their fellow knights. Knowing Aiden they should be checking every hammock/bed/couch/(insert any possible sleeping location anywhere) or an ice cream parlor, but with all this stuff going on it seemed likely that even Aiden was actually doing something. |

After the blond had asked to be of some assistance, it seemed that he got his wish, as he was to stealthily find the real A-rank mage within one of the nearby buildings, a feasible plan, and the fact that she would be weak made it a little easier for him for when he does find the real deal. Although he was given the all important task of finding the real A-rank dark mage, he couldn’t exactly do it while the fake knew that she was on to him, however, Alastors decisive thinking had quickly fixed that problem as he made himself known to the dark mage, and in the process firing several rounds at him, which Rayleigh distinguished from the banging noises that could be heard from his crouched down position. In all the fuss, the blond chose this time to crawl away from the stand, though not in a way that would have made himself known, and made his way to the first building he laid eyes on, which would have been the one that looked like an ordinary store, and what was weird about it was the fact that out of all the carnage that the other buildings have sustained, this was the only one that had sustained none, so, it was worth a shot. The blond crept in like a mouse, being diligent as ever, though did look around once or twice to be doubly sure that no one knew he was there, however as he thought, no one saw a thing, which was good, as he didn’t want to be compromised, Alastor had given him a task, and he was willing to fulfil it with nothing but perfection. Upon entering the store, he noticed that it wasn’t just a store, but it was some sort of Café, and from the looks of it, life was bustling until just a few hours ago when this whole craziness started, with a few cups still on tables, though, that was pretty much all that was there, oh well. After careful observation, the green coated youth realised that there was a set of stairs leading to the 1st floor; perhaps this could lead to something? The blond crept up the stairs, in fear that someone could indeed be upstairs, though it didn’t really help as the wooden stairs made odd creaks after each step, this whole sound dilemma coupled with the blonds fear of being discovered made it feel like he was walking up the stairs for hours, when really it was only a few seconds, however, relief struck him as he reached his final step, though that didn’t quite mean that he could lighten up just yet, as from the only door on the 1st floor, he could tell that something was not quite right, as if fear and evil was stifling the very air around him, however, he must press on! The blond grasped the door handle, then slowly turned it and opened it… |

Oberon Led Zepplin was in a bit of a pickle. He had just been ditched by his temporary companion and was now standing in the waters of Coreopsis. "He has point you know, if we do something we might be able to stop this place from sinking" Yin said. Oberon sighed, he knew that the light hunter was right and that it would be wise to follow Blitz. "And follow a light mage into battle for the greater good? Over my dead body" Yang said in disbelief. Following light mages into battle wasn't exactly his idea of being evil or dark, but he did not want to die and he was pretty damn certain that neither did his freeloading backseat driving spirits "Pft.." Yang went. Oberon looked down into the water that was slowly flooding the streets, damn he was going to regret this. "Yo wait up!" He yelled as he chased after Blitz to the next chain. Unfortunately the mage was faster then Oberon although he managed to keep up well enough. It was too dangerous too be alone in these circumstances these days, especially when an entire guild was laying siege to the city. It was only sensible that he follow Blitz so that he could manipulate him into working with the winged demon. Although escaping the city was another thing all together, he grunted as he ran finally coming up next to Blitz, "Okay! I'll help you! Lets stop this place from sinking!" Oberon yelled as he followed the mage in front of him. That was another thing though, what guild was Blitz from. He was no dark mage, unless he was from Tartaros as it would make sense for him to try and save his city. "Scratch another reason into the paranoia board" Yang said as the tire boy chased after The mage...... Summary
