Fairy Tail RPG Current News

It's April. So, now that the 1st of the month is over I have to curiously ask: How many of you actually searched for rabbits? Come on, did you? I'm sorry. I'm just a bastard, aren't I? But, it was all in good fun! For me, anyway. That aside, there is an actual event this month and I'm sure it'll be a doozy. It'll be quite fun. Slay a few demons and all that. Sounds like a rootin' tootin' good time!

Sion gritted his teeth as he dashed through the streets, always keeping his eye on Archie. He wasn't going to lose this guy, not for the life of him. If he did, he wouldn't get money, and Vile would kick his ass for failing. No, with the dark energy coursing through his veins, his robes trailing behind him like a shadow, and his hands balled into small, yet powerful fists, he knew that some random bastard couldn't outrun him, the 5th Sword Saint, the Rogue, the man who had the blood of several hundred people on his hands.

Sion's eyes turned to angry slits when Archie spun around and tossed a bunch of knives at him. He wasn't planning to read their trajectory, since he wasn't planning to give a shit. He lunged forwards, his foot glowing a dull white before he was launched skywards, about 5 meters up, by black-and-white threads spawned from the sole of his foot. Once he reached that height, he jumped off the little platform and brought his hands together over his head, the ball now in two hands.

"Slam dunk!" he roared with a vicious grin under the mask, tossing the rubber cannonball down at Archie. Once back on his feet, he would continue running at Archie, either to pick him off the floor, or to continue the chase.

Archie snarled and stopped when the dark mage shot up into the air, turning back to face him. He couldn't shake or hurt this guy so easily, he wasn't a pushover. He was close to his trove of traps but he doubted he would manage to survive before he got there at this rate. He only had two rings he could use, one with a shield insignia, and the other with a blast insignia. All he had were pure offensive abilities and defensive abilities. He would have have to make it last until his rings rejuvenated, which shouldn't have taken too long. Archie yelped in surprise as the cannon came towards him, and his shield ring glowed, looking around, he was standing right over a manhole! Instead of wasting his shield, Archie quickly jumped back and kicked the manhole up, watching as the cannonball slammed right into the sewers. The manhole cover landed back into place and Archie ran again, laughing as he heard a loud 'boom'.

"Can't catch me!" Archie screamed, laughing as he sprinted away. As he ran, he rummaged through his cloak, he had one throwing knife, a combat knife, his gun and his ultimate secret weapon. Archie was running through the slums now, it was as if they had gone full circle. His trove of traps was close, he'd lure the boy there and kick his ass with all of his toys, that would show him! He just hoped that he could avoid all of his attacks before he got there. He just had to outwit him, this kid didn't seem too smart, Archie was winning for sure.

Sion growled softly when Archie dodged the cannonball, still smirking a little when he heard the loud bang. At least that gave a couple of people a good scare, he was sure of that. This part of Coreopsis was usually quiet and calm, but not today, two men chasing each other, one part panicky and part cocky, the other snarling and dashing with hands drawn into claws like an animal. Sion was getting sick of this pathetic little man and it was starting to show in his behaviour. His snarls became more frequent and he dropped lower with the moment, streamlining his body as he dashed at Archie at top speed.

His hands were enveloped in darkness before two long arm-like appendages shot out from his hands, extremely long claws, one aiming to close around Archie's leg and the other around his ring arm. He was angry and not planning to take chances with this man. The magic rings weren't really high-quality, but they'd still do some damage... and Archie would be able to sell them for mooooore than enough to pay Tartaros for the next couple of months with increased rates, so he could save up for more money to continue.

He did wonder if he would need to stomp this man before he would agree... He could also use his mind magic... There wasn't really a lot Archie could do against a powerful mage like him. Once again it struck him how he should totally not be here, but chasing thieves in C-Rank missions. Well, it was time to round this shit up anyway.

Archie smiled, knowing he was making a fool of the boy. A weakling cheap ring mage like him was easily drifting by this boy. Well, not easily, but he was holding him back well for sure. If they came up in a head to head fight, Archie would lose most definitely, but it was the fact Archie could use his smarts and traps so effectively that made him such a good opponent. Though, this guy probably knew no humility, so it was no point trying to advocate that Archie was indeed a strong opponent, he was, truly, but the boy would probably not acknowledge it. Archie dashed through the streets, his trove of traps just in front of him, a manhole that wasn't registered on the city council list. It had been removed long ago, a cut off part of the sewers due to a lack of residential areas. The sewer was a great hideout, and since this area was abandoned there was little to no smell, well, except the stuff Archie produced.

Yet before Archie managed to reach the manhole, his ring beeped again. A spell was coming towards him. Archie had little time, casting his shield ring. A large blue orb surrounded him, the moment the appendages struck the shield they would fizzle, but Archie would be knocked right into the ground with a groan, he rolled and jumped up quickly, stopping just after the manhole. He needed a good distraction to get in safely and hopefully lose him. This was not a fight Archie would lose! He had to win, no matter the cost. Archie threw off his cannon ring, putting it back in his pocket, and put on a new one...his secret weapon. He pointed his fist forward towards the boy as he ran to him. A huge magical energy suddenly gathered, the ground itself shaking. The power was absolutely immense; it would be a shocker if this spell didn't kill a few people! Then Archie let out a roar, a huge magical circle appearing, Archie finished his battle cry.

"ABYSS!"

That can't be good.

"CUSTARD!"

Suddenly, out of the magic circle a huge blast of custard shot forward, it was cold and lumpy and splashed into the ground, making it slippery and wet. It filled the streets, causing people to fall over slightly, but they enjoyed the custardy taste. With the distraction, Archie hopped down into the manhole, but he accidentally left the cover open. He ran through his trove of traps...

Sion cursed loudly when his black arms hit the shield, the pain coursing back through them, into his arms. The man's tricks might have been more annoying than actually dangerous, but that was painful nonetheless. Still, it wasn't enough to stop him. If he really believed that Sion was so easily shaken off by tricks and party jokes he was most definitely wrong. Archie was on the ground, but quickly got back on his feet, but Sion had already closed some of the distance between them.

He staggered and stopped in his tracks when Archie raised his hand, a new ring on his finger. Sion reached behind his back for his sword... But he had left it at home. Damn. Instead, he pulled his dagger out of his belt, spun it around in his hand, and stood ready to dodge and retaliate for the oncoming attack. The ground trembled under his feet as a humongous magical energy gathered. For a moment, Sion wondered whether someone had tried to be funny and changed this mission's rank from A to D.

The first word of the spell made Sion's heart skip a beat, and immediately he was surrounded in crimson flames, which fanned out and disappeared. Sion was now wearing a crimson armor, and he hoped it would be enough to stop the incoming attack. If it wasn't, he'd be screwed, and then I mean pounded in the [censored] with an elephant[censored]. After the second word, however, he shouted "OH YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDI-" and then he was hit by the blast of custard.

"Oh god it's everywhere..." Usually, Sion didn't mind custard, but right now he couldn't have hated it more. He could barely breathe because of the sticky stuff getting everywhere, and when the wave had stopped, he was lying on the floor. Archie was nowhere to be seen, but the manhole was open, an obvious hint to where he had gone. The insanity mage was angry, filthy, and planning to give Archie the beating of his life soon.

Archie wheezed as he sprinted through his little sewer area, dodging all of his traps flawlessly. He didn't have much magical power, nor stamina left, if it came to a one on one fight he would surely be done for. He would have to hope that his traps were enough to slow down the crazy insane mage, who somehow was still managing to keep up with Archie after his large amount of assaults and tricks. His trove of traps would just have to do, it could at least buy him time to fit a C4 charge or something like that. Arcie took a sharp turn to the right at the end of the corridor, pulling open a large steel door, jumping in and shutting it behind him. Archie quickly locked the door and took a few deep breaths. No time to relax, the mage, who was already in so much debt had to quickly set the charge. He ran across the large cistern, fumbling through boxes and finding a number of charges. Quickly, he sprinted to the door, knelt by it and started to apply the charges to the hinges of the door. As soon as that thing opened, shit was going to explode. He had to work quickly. Though it would take two minutes (2 posts in this case) for him to set the charges.

When Sion moved down into the sewer, a large corridor would be his first challenge, obvious pressure plates, pendulums of hardened custards and cannons of custard that shot out massive custard cannon balls, enough to take out anyone in delcious custard delight. Apparently though, someone of Sion's stature could likely just charge through without a worry, being able to dodge the traps on his way in and hopefully make it before the charges were set.

Sion dropped on the floor in a crouch. It was surprisingly bearable inside. The smell, that was. Well, that's the point, there wasn't really a smell at all. It wasn't sewer-ey, and when he looked behind him, he could barely see the other end of the tunnel. It had been closed shut with large, heavy stones and mortar. There was also surprisingly little filth. Seems like this was a part of the sewers that had been closed off from the rest, or had been built as a start... either way, this place wasn't connected to anywhere else, so Archie had nowhere to run... Or so he hoped.

He took a step forwards and felt the floor sink slightly. He jumped back with a soft yelp when a giant ball of custard came shooting out of a secreted opening in the wall, almost taking him right in the side. After that, he immediately had to duck to dodge a... ball of hardened custard on a chain? What the... He groaned and looked down. The pressure plate had been so obvious, why hadn't he seen it? Well, no time to think about that; he had a man to catch.

After catching and weighing the hardened ball of custard in his hands he decided to just take it like a man and tank through the custard-based traps. After all, he was wearing full plate armor, and had the stamina to take a regular human's punches without a problem. This custard-based traphole wasn't going to stop him, he thought as he dashed forwards, custard splashing and thumping against his armor when he didn't manage to dodge it, but not stopping him at all as he dashed to where his prey was.

Sion must have felt like a massive idiot after he had triggered the most obvious set-up. Ever. After he caught the cannonball of custard, something even more absurd was about to happen. The smell of custard filled the room, it was heavy, more musty, as if it had accumulated in high quantity. Through the cracks in the top of the sewers and through multiple grates, custard came falling down, the room slowly being filled with the yellow liquid. In a matter of seconds, the boy would already be knee-deep in the yellow shit known as custard, which would make moving around considerably harder for the insane mind mage. However, the smart mage would know that it was possible to run on custard as long as the force applied was almost constant. Sion would have to be smart on this one and hope he could wade through it in time, or run along it and get to the door before the C4 charges - which he did not know about - were applied. If he didn't make it by then he would be royally screwed. In edition, the room was filling with the stuff, Sion could possibly drown in a custardy death if he didn't get through this place soon.

Meanwhile, Archie was setting the charges and licking any custard that seeped through from under the door, a delighted expression spreading across his face as the custard taste hit his tastebuds.

Sion continued to dash, dodge and roll through the array of custard traps, the yellow shit slowly seeping through the Heimdallr Armor's interlocking plates, and he could practically lick it off his cheeks inside of the helmet. It was a miracle its eyeholes hadn't been clogged yet, but Sion wouldn't question it, since it came out rather well for him. So when the tunnel suddenly flooded with thick yellow stuff, Sion was rather surprised.

Unable to do anything else he hopped onto one of the swinging balls of custard, using one hand to hold on to the chain and the other to undo his armor so he wouldn't sink as it grew higher and higher. Red plate after red plate dropped and sank down into the custard, but not before floating for a few moments... Sion suddenly remembered what he had heard about substances like this. A man could run over it... if he was light and fast enough. A few seconds and a lot of armor plates and cut leather bindings later, Sion was standing in his standard clothes again. He would unsummon Heimdallr back to its pocket dimension again later.

He took a deep breath and waited, barely keeping his balance on the ball as the custard slowly rose. "Alright, time's up, let's do this!" Sion shouted as the custard reached high enough to touch the ball. He leapt off the ball and landed with one foot on the custard, and felt balanced for a moment, before he could feel himself start sinking. He now had an estimate of the time it took for his foot to sink in. He would have to be fast, so he ran top speed towards the door at the end, inexplicably shouting "FALCON KICK!" as he slammed his foot into the door, hopefully busting it open to reveal Archie.

The door came down with a large crash, custard pouring into the room, effectively flooding it about an inch up. Archie, battered and brushed from having the door slammed into his face and with ruined C4 charges, slowly pushed the door up and off of him, panting and grunting. He looked around in horror. This was the only mage of Tartaros to ever make it through his trove of custard traps. Ever! Archie grunted and sighed, his legs felt like rubber after that hit, and he stumbled backwards into another door, he kicked it open, revealing a large room, filled with gold bars, fine furs and an assortment of many magic rings. Archie sobbed and sat down in the middle of this room, rocking himself back and forth and crying. Licking up small amounts of custard from the floor, he looked up at Sion, fear in his eyes. He would have reached for his gun, but his hand fell down in submission, he was never going to win.

"J-just take it you damn extortionist!" Then, Archie picked up a gold bar and threw it at Sion, aiming for his face. "Just leave me the hell alone. I hate you!"
