Mako Iona found himself standing in front of a rather large and impressive sign. There were many pictures, much to the enjoyment of the simple minded mage who like to keep things well, simple. It reminded him a rather large amount of his days as a knight, however those days were over as his 'new direction' in life pointed him towards seeking the fire dragon Igneel. However even though he is royalty and nobility, the X-knight now found himself in the situation of being low on funds, he was broke. Thus was his reason for originally joining a guild in the first place as it seemed like the perfect way of gaining money and experience in-between his ventures. His reason made clear, his mind and heart set on finding a mission worthy of his abilities, the mage searched valiantly for an opportunistic offer from a client. Mage, he was still having trouble accepting the fact that he was now a mage and no longer a knight. It was is decision though, he wanted to turn over a new leaf and so he did, he wanted to go on a mission so he shall, he will find Igneel so it shall be. It was curious of how the first dragon slayer was made, if no one was able to find it in the first place, how did people know that they existed? It was a puzzling question and one that he would have to ask when he found his fate. He saw one mission though that caught his eyes and drew them towards it like cookies to milk. An infestation of ants, how creative; apparently there were an abnormally large amount of ants appearing more and more recently causing the people of Magnolia to panic and ask for a mage to step in and stop the ants from tearing apart their park. Well that didn't sound so hard! It was only some ants right, what was the worst that could happen! With an ever so cocky grin on his face, he somehow managed to give one of his trademark smiles that sent even the coldest of men ablaze with happiness and enthusiasm. If that didn't work he could simply cleave their head off if they didn't tell him what he wanted, however this type of behavior was frowned upon by most guilds causing the Kni-MAGE to rethink his methods. Dismissing his inner battles of moral's he turned and walked towards where the guild master was sitting, he was drinking a beer with some of the other guild members who seemed to be having a good time. Nathaniel Silver seemed like a good man, he was kind enough to let Mako join even though the guild was already rather full. The guild master grabbed the paper and approved of it as if he had done it a thousand times, which was most likely true! Mako excited on doing his first mission quickly bounded out of the guild hall and into the busy streets of Magnolia. Mako was in awe of this city, it seemed to have the best of both worlds scenery wise. There was the comfort of the ocean near the guild while the peace of the mighty forest whose trees stood like citadels against the small humans who trembled like ants under their mighty height. Mako could only imagine what it must have felt like to be an ant, scurrying around on the floor, if it was an ant, what was an ant compared to it? The question made his head hurt to much so he stopped thinking about it. Mako began his awl towards the forest looking at all the various shops of the city, it was nothing like Chrysanthium though as being the capital of Fiore, it dominated the area with massive buildings and skyscrapers which seemed to go up long enough to touch the heavens which with magic seemed to be less and less far away these days. After about half an hour of a walk Mako found himself standing in front of a picnic area at the edge of a forest. The picnickers look a bit nervous as if they were waiting for something to pop out of the bushes and eat them. With a sigh Mako set upon the task of looking for the client so he could rendevuz and meet the man he was working for. |

Hikari decided to take a little bit of a break from the guild in Southgate park. It was a gloriously sunny day, and Hikari couldn't help but have herself a little picnic in the park. The yonbi hanyou skipped through the park until she found herself the perfect spot to set up her picnic. She sat under a large oak tree, laying her bag in the grass. She took out the picnic blanket and laid it out in front of her before taking out a wide spread of apples, bottled water, sandwiches, and dried demon meat. She turned away from her picnic for one second to search for something in her bag. When she turned back, her eyes widened, she letting out a rather loud scream. Her picnic was crawling with millions of little black ants. She shot to her feet and immediately pelted her picnic area with fireballs. She went into overkill, frying the little pests with at least fourty will o' wisps. She scrambled away from the mess, panting lightly. Her damn picnic was ruined! Can't she go one day without pests ruining her food? Every time she came to the park, ants ruined her picnics. This had to stop. She laid in the grass, growling softly, she not noticing that her rather loud scream attracted a great deal of attention. |

Mako felt a sound rail against his ears. There was some sort of commotion nearby which it seems was enough to get the picnickers riled up in a fit. The mage, curious as to what might possibly cause this disturbance, quickened his way over to the area to see whatever was the matter. What he saw there was a truly disgusting scene. There were hundreds, no millions of ants swarming all over the place trying to get at the food of the picnickers and their food so that they had something to eat. This WAS the job and he WAS the mage who had signed up unfortunately to do this, but this was something of a whole different level then his abilities and powers. He had to wipe them out for good, but for now at least he would have to at least drive the ants away from the picnic. Apparently though the only way to do this was to burn the little buggers to a crisp, it was one of those times that being a fire mage was good. He drawer his katana Muramasa which through his magic, he quickly sent ablaze. This however is where his finesse and skill stopped as he was reduced from his usual swordsmanship to instead cleaving at the nearest patch of black ants that he could find. He was surprisingly successful though as his magic helped him in his cause. They just kept on coming though, like a wave from the ocean that just wouldn't stop. He could see out of the corner of his eyes people running by brushing themselves off in fear of getting ants on them. While the mage wasn't exactly as squeamish as the rest of the picnickers he couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the ants that just seemed to come out of nowhere. It was downright silly, there was no way he could take care of this alone, he would need to strike them at the nest where they were born or the main anthill that was supposedly in the forest by what was written in the mission application. Not trying to take his mind of things he simply kept cleaving to try and gain some portion of victory against the miniature black horde around him. Edited by Ravendark, Sep 21 2011, 02:45 AM.

Hikari was laying in the grass, frustrated with the fact that the stupid ants ruined her lunch. She soon felt a tickle on her leg. Then another. And another. Hikari squirmed and looked down to see a conga line of ants crawling up her leg. Her eyes went wide, she letting out an ear splitting scream while shooting to her feet. She used her tails to brush the ants off. She really hated bugs. She formed ten more Will o' Wisps, snarling angrily while her four tails writhed like serpents behind her. She needed to find the main ant hill and eliminate the menace once and for all. However, she didn't even know where to look. She suddenly froze, her nose twitching. That scent. That oh so familiar scent. Impossible. It couldn't be? Hikari looked up in the direction from which the scent was eminating from to find a blast from the not so distant past. Mako. What was he doing here? Last she checked, he left her to go and abandon the knights and pursue magic. She couldn't move, her body not responding to her brain's orders. But she couldn't just stand there. She swallowed her nerves and walked up to Mako, her nervousness and uncertainty made obvious in the way she approached. Her ears laid flat against her head, her tails tucked between her legs. The hanyou was dressed in an ash grey ensemble that included a school girl style skirt, a while button down blouse with her guild tattoo visible thanks to the top two buttons being undone, and then a blazer, also ash grey, to complete the look. She wore knee high stockings and black loafers on her feet, making her look even more like a student. She exhaled slowly and straightened her posture, her four tails nou held high and fanned out behind her, her ears stanting erect atop her head. She exueded strength. The last time Mako saw her, she was weak. Now she was much stronger and she showed it. I didn't expect to see you here, Iona. What exactly are you doing, if I may ask? Hikari wasn't going to let their friendship fall because of a failed romance. Maybe they'd work together better as friends. Who knew? |

Mako stretched his back enjoying the nice feeling that it gave him after having to hunch over and slash at all of the little black demons running around on the ground. He felt like he was getting nowhere against the battle he was trying to fight. Whenever it seemed like he had killed one there were a hundred more to take its place! It was a real puzzler as to how he could get out of this situation without botching the mission. There was no way that he could do this all alone and by himself and yet he was the only person who had taken the mission! It was a puzzler indeed, he never had problems like this back on Neopola. Just to make it worse he couldn't find where the hell the client was at, he could be doing all of this for free for all he knew. He growled at the thought of that, if you were good a something never do it for free. That however wasn't exactly the way these people worked and in result wasn't exactly Fairy Tail ish and was frowned upon when he had brought up the subject by accident with the guild master. "Just power through it Mako, get the money, kill the ants, and go hunting again" he chanted to himself. He was happy at least that he was giving his brain a rest from working on that cursed riddle and giving his mind a chance to take some of the load however as he would become out of shape if he sat around sulking all day long about how hard the riddle was, and it would certainly get him close to nowhere. OOC: Due to complications Noelle has dropped out of this mission, and sorry the post is so short. Edited by Ravendark, Sep 21 2011, 02:55 AM.

The Librarian was having a nice and calming day, he was out in a nice and sunny area in magnolia. He was in the city as he was tracking down a rather rare set of novels that we wanted to read simply for the sake of reading. He was successful (of course, he is a bitchin librarian) and was now spending his time under a tree with a pile of books, to the right a pile of what he has read so far and to the left a pile of what he had to read. After having gone through half the books he was feeling rather relaxed so decided to take a little nap. When he woke up a few hours later he was greeted by ants crawling on his invisible barrier only a few centimetres away from his eyes. “This item becomes more handy day by day…” The Librarian mumbled to himself as he stood up and shook the ants of his barrier so he could see properly. Sadly when he looked down he noticed that the majority of each book had been digested by the troublesome ants. “bollocks…” The Librarian said as he went to pick up each book and shake the ants off, but they had already done too much damage. “Ants… Now where is their nest so I can fill it with water…” The Librarian said before heading off in a direction that the ants could be coming from. In the distance he sees what appears to be another person also looking at the ants for some reason. |

Mako groaned as he saw another wave of ants coming out of the forest like a mob of miniature dived people. He sighed knowing that the previous cycle would quickly repeat itself and that due to the fact that an ants nest was friggin huge, he would be in deep over his head if he just waited for the ants to keep coming on after him. He knew that the cycle would unfortunately repeat itself until either he was tired and dropped his guard to the ants who would then most likely devour everything in sight (no humans of course but their bits could be annoying). Mako charged into battle cleaving his sword left and right against the endless army of ants like he was in some sort of desperate last sand that would make hollywood movies look like little babies who's mothers simply took away their lollypops. This was both extremely funny to any onlooker who passed by and rather strange as well, here was this man slicing at thousands of miniature black specks on the ground while stomping his feet and shaking off the hordes of creatures, while using his sword as well (he was a bit chin knight) thus the scene seemed rather strange and would make most people look a bit before laughing their asses of. Mako after finishing off this second wave sat down on the cut up and scarred grass to catch his breath. He suddenly felt a feeling though and looked to his right, coming towards him was a man with white hair; it was unclear what his intentions were, perhaps he was the client? Perhaps not, but if so who was he? there was an air around him that the mage was weary about, there was something almost secretive about it. The knight made sure that his shirt was covering his guild tattoo on his left shoulder as at the moment he was still weary as to who this man was and his intentions. "Can i help you? I'm a bit busy killing small black demons from the earth so if you are here to annoy me please move along. If not i could appreciate some assistance in exterminating these ants, if your inclined of course" Mako said to the stranger as he walked closer, he seemed to be holding a book, strange. Although even though this man seemed rather...interesting. The mage would need all the help that he could afford as he didn't want to go back to his guildmaster empty handed, the master was kind enough to let him join as it is, he didn't want to betray his trust. Now though he returned his attention to the man and his reaction to the mages offer. |

The Librarian would look as the man was seemingly hacking at the ground in futility, The Librarian knew that he was also probably aggravated by the ants but his way of dealing with them seemed unusual. The point of a sword was thin and it really did not hit many ants per swing, probably his best bet was some magic that could hit a wide area or even a hammer would be better then what he was attempting, a sword was really not designed for taking out large quantities of diminutive opponents. The Librarian couldn’t help but scoff at the young person’s folly it was probably the most retarded thing he had seen all week. It took a lot to bring a smile to The Librarian’s face and this boy’s acts managed to bring a smile to The Librarian’s face. As he approached he gave the boy a slow clap, he wasn’t really praising the boy, maybe even slightly condescending. “Well done, your mastery of the sword stands and I fear that no insect creature is safe from your devastating wrath.” The Librarian said making sure to apply the sarcastic tone of voice heavily to show his obvious disproval at the person’s actions, although this was just fun and games for The Librarian. “So what about these ants makes you hate them so much that you feel the need to destroy them instead of simply moving away from them?” The Librarian asked wondering what the person was doing. |

Mako watched as the man approached him and spoke to him, he was about the same height as Mako although he seemed a bit taller then the mage. The fire mage frowned as he obviously made a sarcastic remark on his swordsmanship abilities and prowness. While he did have a very valid reason to make fun of the ex-knights swordsmanship there was still a tone in his voice that seemed rather relaxed and layed back towards Mako who was sitting there looking up at the man who blocked the sun from glaring into his eyes like an annoying ant, although he would take it over the much more unfathomable ants everyday. Mako ran a hand through is white hair, he was a bit sweaty but that was noting that he couldn't handle and it would most likely take much more then that to prevent him from going on with his mission. The man though seemed rather strange still to the dragon slayer to be and that air of mystery was still clinging to him like a shirt on a hot humid day. He didn't seem all that malevolent but as the young adult knew all to well a nice face can hide an ugly mind. "Yes its not exactly the most affective method now is it,but hey whats a guy to do" he said shrugging it off as he stood up. He glanced at the book in the man's hand he would have to ask him about it later as for now there were bigger things to attend to.So what about these ants makes you hate them so much that you feel the need to destroy them instead of simply moving away from them? the man asked Mako who was looking into the forest keeping an eye out for another wave of ants that by now could have come at any moment if they wanted. He turned back to the man in front of him, should he reveal that he is a mage of Fairy Tail? If he did there could certainly be repercussions if the man was a dark mage and the result wouldn't exactly be all that nice with a fight that would most certainly erupt as a result. However he might not exactly help him if he was not a mage or in his common interest, "I'm a mage on a mission, or rather a tedious chore i should say, to destroy the ants and their ant hill.... By chance you wouldn't be a mage to now would you? I could always use some help and company would help nullify the annoyance this labor brings me" he asked the man in front of him. Hey if the man was a mage why couldn't he help him, it would be a common interest would it not. Although he made careful measures to make sure that he didn't spill the beans on his guild as he spoke. The Librarian would raise his eyebrow when the man said he was a mage, The Librarian didn’t sense any power off the boy, but then again he was probably a very weak mage, especially if he had to take a mission where he would destroy ants. “Oh wow! A mage huh, I bet that means you can use magic, wouldn’t magic take care of the ants a lot faster then say swinging your sword around and hitting like 4 ants each time?” The Librarian said as he looked the boy over, he was trying to analyse the boy as much as possible. He seemed like a hot head, easily frustrated evidenced by his strategy to the ants but he also seemed nice enough. Stereotypically these are traits of elemental mages, many seemed to have issue containing their emotions and the truth often just showed through their face. If The Librarian had to take a guess we would presume the boy to be one of the more energetic elements like lightning although he didn’t have much faith in his guess and as such would leave it to himself, besides not everyone is a stereotype. “Oh~ you are a mage on a mission, that much mean that you are part of one of the guilds! I’ve always wanted to talk to a guilded mage. Maybe you can tell me aa bit about yourself, I am The Librarian and no sorry I am not really a mage, unless a pair of wind reader glasses makes me one” The Librarian said finishing his sentence with a light laugh, obviously laughing at his minor joke. In reality he didn’t think he was that funny, he was actually lying through his teeth on many occasions throughout what he said. Of course with any lie The Librarian told he would only be known to be a liar if he wanted the other person to work it out, sociopaths made very good liars. The Librarian at this point was building and making a persona, the simple scholar, curious about the strange person and with this he hoped to extract the most information. The fact that this boy could be a guilded mage was also intriguing to The Librarian, it was always a good idea to keep an eye on any upcoming competition and enemies. |
