Noel understood what the older boy's expression meant. The Blue Pegasus mage wasn't angry, nor was he being cold towards him, as much as it may have looked that way. But Noel was aware that behind all of that solemnity hid feelings of determination and willpower. They weren’t the kind to show that he blindly believed that he was going to win no matter what – no, Simmons was smarter than that. Instead the look in his eyes revealed the kind of resolve that showed he wanted to give out his best, and show the other mage how strong he really was. He didn’t seek praise from him, but he hoped to achieve that the younger Fairy Tail mage would realize the potential of his magic, and just how much work and training he had put into it. Because of that, Noel held no doubt that Simmons was going to go all out, and he was almost a little bit excited to find out what his magic was capable off. It was a long time since he had brawled like that, and even though he wasn’t the type of person to like fights or violence, he still felt that occasional trainings like that were much more valuable than it was to train all by yourself, no matter how strong the opponent was. To see that Simmons wasn’t taking all of this just as nothing more than a game, Noel was even more thrilled for the fight to start, waiting for Simmons to attack him as soon as he saw the cold look in his eyes. He put his hands up in front of him in his usual battle stance, his eyes glaring at the boy, and waiting for him to make a move. He was a bit surprised, when Simmons suddenly urged him to start. He hadn’t expected that; but if the older boy really wanted that, then he wasn’t going to say no. He looked at him for a second, then he made a small nod, as if he wanted to acknowledge his wish. In the next second, though, Simmons wouldn’t see him any more. The spot where Noel had been standing on just a moment ago, was now empty, as if Noel had completely disappeared; and before Simmons’ mind would be able to comprehend what actually happened, Noel was already standing behind him, a small grin on his face. His staff whooshed through the air, and it wasn’t even more than a second or two, before it was already brought down towards his back. The first attempt was followed by another one and then yet another, all of them going at his back, before the boy moved to Simmons’ side swiftly and swished his staff at his side this time, hard and accurate. Buster watched the entire confrontation from the safe place up in the crown of the tree, from where he was able to see the fight rather perfectly. He was musing a little bit, wondering how Simmons was going to deal with the young Mind mage and how long it would take him to show his magical power. Was he the type to always rely on his magic and use it as soon as he entered a fight..? Or was he like Noel, who preferred to hide his abilities from the outer world..? |

The Tracer of Blue Pegasus
|
Simmons barely registered Noel's dissapearance and reappearance behind him; it had been so fast that the Tracer mage couldn't even see him moving! The Blue Pegasus mage had been keeping his concentration focused on the FT mage, making sure to keep his mind ready for whatever he was about to be attacked with. He was a good distance away and was sure that whatever Noel had in store, he would be able to at least block the first strike or counter-attack in some way. Unfortunately, this would not be so for the poor Harmon. The second his mind registered what had happened, he felt something slam into his back, causing him to stumble forward a few feet. Simmons' was stunned for a moment by the sudden attack, but as the second strike jabed into his spine, his mind was clear on what was going on; Noel had dissapeared behind him and was now proceeding to pumble the ever living shit out of him. This caught Simmons off guard enough for Noel to make his first two strikes, but that was all he would get. Once the red headed man realized what was going on, his mind was clear on his objective. In a situation like this, although he wanted to conceal his magic as long as possible, he had to bring it out. He wasn't fast enough to dodge back or run away from Noel, nor was he able to take too many hits from his staff before his body would be hindered. As of now, his body was not ready to move at the speeds his mind demanded, so the only way to fight was to USE something that COULD. Twisting around as fast as he could, he held out his hands as if to grab something. When Noel's next strike came, it was blocked by what appeared to be a 6 foot bar of glowing white. Simmons had spun together the threads of its outline in an instant and filled up the gridded pattern with solidified magical energy for substance. Simmons was now armed with one of the most versatile magics in existence, a magic known as the ultimate tool; he was now in posetion of his Transcendant Tracer. Though Simmons was able to make more useful weapons out of the tracer threads, the staff form was one he was most accustomed with. For 8 years he practiced to master his craft with the threads, and all the while he used its basic form for defense; in truth, all it was was a stiffened, glowing thick thread. It was the one he was the one that came to him the quickest, and would do well as a defensive weapon at the moment. After blocking the third strike, he moved his arms as fast as he could, angling the bar so as to block an attack from his side. He barely made it in time, but Noel's staff found its momentum cut short by the edge of Simmons' Tracer. Without hesitation, he instantly brought down the end of his weapon that was pointed upwards, attempting to strike Noel right on the skull. It probably wouldn't hit, he knew that, but he had to keep a good balance between offense and defense if he wanted to survive. Getting sneak attacked and struck two times in the back almost immediately wasn't the best way to start out a battle, but at least he had managed to block the other strikes, if barely... I'm in love. <3
|
The headache was beginning to subside, which was reassuring to the Fairy Tail Mage as she slowly opened her eyes to take in the view of her male companions that were now facing off on the patio. Her male Fairy Tail counterpart, and the Blue Pegasus redhead were preparing for their own match. This would be interesting, as she'd get a glimpse of Simmons Magic before their match begins. Of course, Katherine knew if Noel were to do to Simmons what he had done to her, Simmons would have one hell of a headache. In such a case it'd only be fair to take a break and allow the older male a chance to recover before challenging him herself. She was a good person, after all, and was above taking advantage of a weakened opponent. She wanted to fight the Tracer Mage at full strength. If either him or herself were at a disadvantage, where would the fun and challenge lie in such a match? Her match with Noel was epic, awesome and totally mind blowing. She truly enjoyed the opportunity of going up against one of such incredible power and speed. The girl held no shame, nor regret toward her loss. She furthermore possessed no ill will toward her fellow Guildmate for taking her down so swiftly. In fact, she chuckled softly at the reality of the fact she never touched him. And now look at him. He was ready for another fight without stopping to rest? He was truly amazing. Her match with the Mind Mage hadn't even exhausted the boy in the least. She scooted up a bit more comfortably on her chair, observing the patio closely as she watched the two boys converse upon the topic of Noel's powers; to which the boy didn't give a straight answer to confirm Simmons assumption. Typical. He didn't seem like the type to give away all his secrets so easily. It would appear at this point all she could do was watch and wait to see how their match turns out. Glancing up toward the branch of an overhead tree, she caught a glimpse of a snow white owl apparently also observing the match. Odd. She was pretty sure he wasn't there before, was he? The girl instantly shrugged off the unusual appearance of the bird, deciding it wasn't importent right now. She then heard Simmons insist upon Noel making the first move, and this most unexpected decision caused her eyes to widen a bit as she leaned forward in her seat, resting her arms across her knees as she leaned forward with an increasing amount of interest. This was highly unusual, and from the blonde's reaction he hadn't expected it either. They truly had their own unique battle styles, to say the least. Katherine, for one, had rushed in head first with no warning and was quick to launch the first hit. Even though he easily avoided it and landed several blows upon her body instead, she had at least tried to strike him first. Simmons, however, encouraged the Mind Mage to make the first move. After battling him herself, she was pretty sure that decision was a mistake on Simmons part. It didn't surprise the Exquip as much as it surprised the Tracer when Noel vanished and reappeared behind the older boy. In fact, Kitty apparently saw his sudden movement before Simmons realized what had happened. Two points of views yielded two separate reactions. From Kitty's point of view, Noel vanished from in front of Simmons and appeared behind Simmons. It was as if he had teleported, but Kitty knew better. No, the Fairy Tail Mage was just that fast. And Simmons would soon find this out as he took two blows to the back before realizing what was happening. Katherine, at this point, couldn't help but wonder what Simmons would do now. Would he reveal his Magic right away? The young girl had no choice but to use her Magic straight up, as her combat style relied on the Equipment she summoned forth. However, she had more tricks up her sleave she had yet to reveal. She simply hadn't the time nor the skill to display them in her match against Noel. The boy was too strong and two fast, and as a fellow Fairy Tail member she was beginning to look up to him with new respect as a role model for her own skills. The Mages possessed two completely different forms of Magic, yet Noel was so strong he could fight without much effort or usage of his own Magical Power. After seeing what the redhead could do, she'd be sure to give it her all in their fight as well. He was more her speed, if not a little weaker; maybe even a little stronger. Hell, for all she knew they could be an even match. She'd just have to watch him and see. Although, judging by his reaction to Noel's starting assault, he was as much out of his league as she was when she faced him. Simmons blocked Noel's 3rd strike, but how? What had happened that she had missed. Leaning in closer to gain a better perspective of the battle, a white object caught her attention. Was that a Staff Simmons was holding? But, where did it come from? She was positive it wasn't there a moment ago. 'Is that Exquip Magic? No, that's definately something different...' She had thought on observation, comparing it to that of her own Magic but quickly recognizing the difference in how it was used. That Staff was a pure white light, whatever it was made out of, Simmons had created it himself from nothing. She never seen anything like it, and this drew in her attention that much more. Now she knew; she had to focus on Simmons and learn more of his power before their upcoming match. Edited by darkdestiny83, Jul 26 2011, 04:17 AM.

Once.. Twice.. Noel's quarter-staff hit its mark, the blows so fast and unexpected, that Simmons didn’t have the time to defend against them so quick enough. Noel wasn’t hitting with his full force, not just because there was no point in fighting him at full power since this was supposed to be a light training, but also because that allowed him to perform his consecutive attacks faster than he could if he had put his full strength into the strikes. With the element of surprise in action as well, Noel knew that at least one of his attacks was going to hit the spot, but he wondered how many of his next strikes were going to hit Simmons before the older boy realized what had happened and dodged them or defended himself. That decision alone – if he was going to defend, dodge or even take the opportunity to counter-attack while being assaulted – was also an important piece of information that would give Noel a small insight into Simmons’ style of fighting. Once he figured that out, the only thing left was to learn about his magic and its capabilities, before he would be able to end the battle quickly and decisively. It wasn’t his intention to show Simmons how fast he could end the battle, oh no. The point was to show him his openings and the things he still needed to work on. As long as he could make him, and Katherine before him, see the mistakes that they’ve done during their battles and made them at least think about what they could do to improve their skills, he’d call this training a success. Honestly, the boy was a bit surprised when his third strike suddenly got block mid-air. His eyes darting down to the source of the blockage, Noel raised his eyebrow in mild confusion at the sight of a glowing white object that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Item teleportation? Doubtful. A pocket dimension..? Maybe. However, he had seen the use of that just a few minutes earlier when Katherine used her Ex-equip magic in her fight against him, and he could tell it wasn’t the same. No, this magic was definitely something else, but Noel just couldn’t figure out what it was. Despite the fact he had read countless books, and had paid special attention to different branches of magic, their types, abilities, histories and famous users, Noel had to admit he had never seen or heard anything like it. That fact alone excited him, a slight grin spreading across his face at his next strike which Simmons had managed to block with his glowing tool, if only just barely. And so, down came his counter-attack, the Mind mage noticing the movement of his opponent’s arms quick enough to lift his staff up and block the pole with his own weapon. As the two weapons collided, a few glowing particles of the strange weapon Simmons was holding fell down on the two of them, and Noel’s eyes met with Simmons’. ”What kind of magic is that..?” he’d ask him in that moment, before attempting to kick the other boy at the stomach while both of them still had their weapons crossed up in the air. That way, he wouldn’t be able to move his pole down quick enough to block the strike. In the next moment, Noel had already jumped backwards a few times, gaining a few meters between them. It was obvious that his interest in the other boy’s magic was perked, it was written all over his face. It was like an excitement of a child after just getting a new toy to play with; his eyes were opened wide in expectation of what Simmons was going to do with his powers, and his mouth were curved into a smile. ”Say.. you didn’t pull that weapon out of somewhere, right? You.. materialized it out of nowhere, didn’t you?” If he was right, then Simmon’s magic was one of the most diverse magics he had ever had a chance to stumble across. With a grin, the boy dashed forwards once again, this time going for a low-swap attack in attempt to trip him. Followed, was a quick stab towards the chest, and then he’d turn his staff to the right to bash it at his head, if he was successful. This was going to be an interesting battle. |

The Tracer of Blue Pegasus
|
Simmons said nothing as his weapon was blocked. Before he could make another sweep with the bottom end of the staff, Noel was already attempting to kick him in the stomach. In a defensive move, Simmons brought uis knee up to block the kick and cushion the blow. He allowed the kick to push him back, as he quickly pushed himself even further with his other foot to increase the distance between both him and Noel. He flew onto his back, tucked his body, and rolled backwards into a kneeling bosition; his staff was held up and read for any other attack that came. After rolling back up, he mentally kicked himself for his inaction; he had a chance to counter attack more than once, but he didn't take it. He hesitated, for a slight moment he hesitated, and it cost him a delicate opportunity. He was so used to fighting defensively that he forgot that this was just him training with another powerful mage; he should have gone all out from the beginning instead of just revealing his staff form first. Still, Noel was obscenely powerful, and SImmons didn't want to look stupid and give everything away from the beginning.
Simmons didn't like the look in Noel's eyes; it seemed as if the boy was already interested in his abilities. Then again, it was obvious that he would have noticed the weapon appearing from nowhere. SImmons opted to stay silent, just staring at Noel with a cold intensity. He knew that talking during a battle was never the smartest thing to do when one was at a disadvantage; it could waste valuable breath and energy you would need or inadvertently give away something you wanted to keep secret. Then the Fairy Tail mage attacked. Simmons waited as he came close, watching the boy's arms prepare for a sweeping attack that he would just barely be able to dodge. As Noel's staff whistled from under him, Simmons hopped up from his kneeling position, pulling up his legs just high enought to avoid the sweeping attack. From there, as Noel stabbed forward with his second strike, the red head blocked it toward the side with the Tracer, forcing the attack to avoid his chest. Without missing a beat, and before the third strike could come, Simmons attacked. First, he stabbed forward with his staff once, swift and fast; it was nothing special, and would seem like the beginning of a string of jabs from the staff-like-Tracer. However, when he pulled it back and struck forward a second time, Simmons activated his Light Booster on the other end of the Tracer. From behind him, an orb of light instantly materialized and pushed the staff forward with 600 lbs worth of thrust, boosting the attacks speed dramatically. This was an attempt to catch Noel off guard with an unpredictable attack; however, Simmons knew that it wasn't enough. Whether or not the second strike hit, Simmons would immediately twirl around and bring his staff-Tracer around for a blow to Noel's side. The whole idea was to use the second strike as a distraction if it didn't hit; it was possible that Noel might be taken back enough by the sudden speed of Simmons' second attack that he wouldn't see the third attack coming. He just hoped it wouldn't backfire on him... Edited by Simmons101, Aug 1 2011, 05:17 AM.

OoC When Simmons decided not to answer the question, Noel couldn't help not to smirk. Apparently, the boy decided to react the same way he had when he had asked him about his own magic. Noel liked that about him - he was cautious, and calculating, always making sure that his opponent wouldn't be one step ahead of him, knowing fully well the consequences that would happen if it came to that. Even if he was in a battle, which he knew there was a really really small chance of winning, he would still do his best and put up a good fight. Either way, Noel didn't need Simmons' answer to see the truth. His perceptive skills quickly picked up on the details that would give away the right answer, and from there, all he needed to do was finish the battle as quickly as possible. It was some sort of a challenge for him too, as he was wondering how quickly he could end the battle from the moment it had started. Was it going to be longer than his battle with Katherine? If it was, would that really mean he was not as strong as her..? In Noel's eyes, that wasn't the case, because he believed there was a number of factors that affected the actual outcome of the battle. Because of that, he knew that only the battle between Katherine and Simmons could determine who of the two was really stronger. "They're both so talented, though.." a thought ran through his head, when the older boy suddenly used the opportunity between one of his attacks to counter-attack him. That actually threw Noel off his guard a little bit, because he wasn't expecting Simmons to react so soon, especially because the speed with which Noel's attacks were going, wasn't exactly slow. So, when Simmons' stab came, Noel didn't even have the time to avert his staff because he was in a middle of his own attack. And so, the boy had no other option but to step to the side quickly, the stab going right past his hip through the air. That gave him some time to pull his own staff from his attack in order to defend himself from Simmons' sudden assault; but that wouldn't be fast enough to block the boosted attack Simmons had attempted to hit him with. "I've no choice.." In a single moment, Noel disappeared and re-appeared behind Simmons, the other boy's slash swishing through the open air where Noel was standing just a moment ago. In a single moment, while Simmons was still in the middle of an attack, Noel would already kick towards his back, and as he did, he would soon follow with another slash at his back, this time a horizontal one. The Tracer of Blue Pegasus

(Screw it...I had a good post, but the F#&king computer back-paged on me. THis post is going to be short and have no effort put into it. I'll have a better one next post...) Simmons was knocked back by both blows, and he lay on his back while clutching his side in pain. After getting up and thanking Noel for a good fight, he turned to Kathrine; though hurt, it wouldn't impact his abilities too much, and he wanted to see how he matched up against her. "Well, if you two are ok with it, I'd like to fight Kathrine next." He flashed a sincere smile as he spoke. |

OOC As Katherine watched the dual continue, it was obvious from the start that Simmons wouldn't have the stamina to hold out as long as she had against the powerful Mind Mage. Even without using his Magic, Noel had defeated the Tracer Mage with ease. It was a very short, yet fun to watch, match. In her eyes, Simmons was lucky. He didn't have to endure the headache that followed a blast from Noel's Mind Blast technique. Even though said headache had long sing subsided, the Exquip Mage subconciously placed her hand upon her forhead out of the sheer memory of that experiance. Still, fighting such a powerful Mage had inspired the girl. She was pumped. And as Simmons stood up and thanked his opponent for such a good battle, Kitty knew what was coming next. She didn't need to be a Mind Mage to figure it out. He turned her way with a smile as she sat upright looking at the redhead with peeked interest. "Well, if you two are ok with it, I'd like to fight Kathrine next." No sooner had those words left his lips, Katherine was on her feet and making her way toward her Blue Pegasus comrade. As she neared him a smile could be seen spread across her face as she spoke in response to his challenge. "Sure, I'm up for another round. I hope you don't intend to go easy on me simply because I'm a girl..." She smirked an encouraging smirk. One that boasted her skills and made it quite obvious what she expected from the older male. Nothing less than the best. This was a training fight, and how much training could you get by going easy on your opponent? After all, a real enemy would not go so easy. They may not be trying to kill each other, but a little pain never hurt anyone. Making her way up the steps, she crossed the patio to take position in Noel's spot as he stepped down to observe their match from a position that would not cause interferance. Once she and Simmons were in their positions Kitty turned toward her soon to be opponent, her smirk fading into a more serious and calm expression. She stood with her thumbs hooked in her pockets, much like the way Soul had acted during her training with him. Maybe she was becoming cocky. Or perhaps she was simply over confident in her abilities. But for whatever reason, she stood completely defenseless, refusing to activate her Magic at all just yet. "I'll let you have the first move, Sims." She spoke coolly, using the tactic he had used when facing Noel to her own advantage. Normally she'd rush right in to fight. But, perhaps, she was a bit head strong and lacked proper thought when facing Noel. After all, he's way more experianced than her and she became too anxious. She would not make that mistake again. After seeing how Simmons defended himself when Noel attacked first, she realized she'd not be able to handle that as well as the Mind Mage had. She'd need a new tactic for this one. Now that the first move was granted to the Tracer, it was time to see how he'd play that card. |

The Tracer of Blue Pegasus
|
OOC: ........ok, wow. I didn't expect to write THIS much in response. I guess it makes up for the previous lacking post, eh? But yeah; I never expected things to play out this way, and I'm kind of happy my character is developing faster than I planned for him too. But I talk too much, on with the show! BIC: The Tracer mage, though he had seemed to take his defeat rather patiently, was using every ounce of his will to hold back his annoyance. After he had been knocked to the ground by Noel’s sudden and violently quick attack, he realized that the battle had already been won; there would have been no reason to continue fighting, especially if Noel kept disappearing faster than he could even react. It’s not as if he didn’t ask for it; he wanted to fight against Noel so that he could get at least SOME experience fighting someone of such a high caliber. The problem was, Noel was so powerful and skilled that, in the end, Simmons learned nothing from his short excursion with the Fairy Tail mage. If he had learned something, even something that would be insignificant, he would have been satisfied. Also, looking back, the fight didn't last as long as the one between the two Fairy Tail magi; in this comparison, the redheaded mage felt even more discouraged. In the end, the fight did exact opposite of what it was supposed to; Simmons now felt more useless than ever. Maybe…was it because of his defensive nature during the fight? “Did I hold back too much,” he thought, “Was I trying to be too defensive? Should I have given it my all from the beginning? Or did it not even matter? God damn it, I hate this! WHY can’t I see any significant progress?! Why…why, why, why…”
Even with all these negative thoughts running through his mind, he still kept a semblance of a normal expression as Katherine addressed him; thought it wasn’t too hard to spot the tired look in his eyes… “Heh,” Simmons chuckled, his voice filled with a self-depreciative tone, “If anything, you might have to go easy on me…” Once Katherine took Noel’s place, Simmons tried to ready his mind for the battle. He was looking down as he tried to calm himself, trying to keep his mind clear and ready to use his magic to its fullest. But he was having trouble concentrating, the feeling of insignificance beginning to creep up on him again. He began to think… What was the point in continuing if he wasn’t going to make any difference with his magic? He’d be nothing more than a nuisance if he couldn’t increase his skills at a faster pace. Maybe he should just give up… But when he looked up, he saw Katherine standing there…with her thumbs in her pockets and in a relaxed position. She was wearing no armor or weapons, standing where she was…completely defenseless and seemingly unready for a battle. It was completely different from before, where she was rushing in to attack her enemy; now she stood as if there weren’t a care in the world.
There was a momentary pause as Simmons gazed at Katherine and her non-chelaunt posture. She had changed from going all out from the beginning to waiting patiently and defenselessly. With such a relaxed posture, she looked almost…cocky. She had just watched his fight with Noel…so.. “Is she looking down at me?” Simmons expressed a small level of surprise at her posture and words, slowly lowering his head so his eyes were hidden by the shadow of his bangs. Normally, Simmons would never jump to this conclusion. He was a man who looked at things optimistically, and would have thought that Katherine was taking a more pragmatic and safe approach to the fight. But Simmons was not thinking optimistically, nor was he thinking particularly straight. He had become tired: tired with his inability to master his magic faster, tired with feeling insignificant, tired with seeing everyone years younger than him excel beyond him….as if he was the only one who lacked natural talent. Looking Katherine’s posture, he didn’t see someone who had decided to fight smart…he saw someone who considered him insignificant, just like his brothers did. “Really,” his fists shook as part of him mentally addressed himself, “So this is where you end up after eight years? Being tossed around by teenagers 5 years your junior? Is this truly what you worked hard at; so that people can look down at you as if you weren’t worth treating seriously? Pathetic…” Visibly gritting his teeth, Simmons lifted his head again. His eyes were cold and sharp as before, except for one difference…they held an undiluted and terrifying hatred the likes of which seemed impossible in the Tracer mage. Though glaring at Katherine, his hatred wasn’t directed out toward her, but in toward himself. “Fine, if that’s the way it’s going to be, there’s no use in holding back your magic; it’s not like hiding your abilities will give you an upper hand. So just fight with everything you’ve got; no holding back, no defensive thinking, and no mercy. They’ll just knock you down anyway…” That final thought broke down his last bit of control. Simmons jumped forward, activating his Light Booster on his feet and back; the Tracer mage was propelled forward with 800 lbs of instantaneous thrust, flying across the patio like missile. Closing in on Katherine, Simmons recreated and brought up his staff, swinging at her as he passed. However, as he swung, the end of his staff shifted its form into that of a short sword; Simmons was now essentially swinging a spear at Katherine. The attack held an unrelenting, savage, and focused ferocity Simmons had never once expressed in his life; he was tired of all his shortcomings and weaknesses, acting as if to attack those drawbacks themselves. And unfortunately, Katherine was unintentionally on the recieving end... Techs Used: Transcendant Tracer Light Booster Edited by Simmons101, Aug 14 2011, 03:22 AM.

As Simmons stepped into position to battle Katherine, she continued to wait paitently for his attack. She wasn't looking down on him. In fact, she was being cautious due to lacking the information and understanding of his Magic and its potentional. She was playing it smart this time. She had been too quick to attack Noel, simply because she knew how powerful he was. But her and Simmons were closer to each other in their abilities. This match would be more equal, especially if they both give it their all. But now she wondered what Simmons would do for his first attack. It was then she noticed, he looked different. He stood silently with his eyes shadowed over. What was going on? Why wasn't he attacking? Her head tilted to the side ever so slightly, a flash of concern replacing her battle ready expression for the moment. Had she said or perhaps done something to upset him? Was he perhaps truly upset about how quickly he lost to Noel? It was true he lost faster than she had. But she had fought until she couldn't stand up; he, on the other hand, quit due to the knowledge that he'd be unable to keep up with the blonde's speed. Katherine was quite fast herself, but no where near that of the Fairy Tail boy. Yet, here stands a girl far too stubborn to give up. Simmons still hadn't made a move. Katherine, by now, was getting worried. Was he having doubts about his own abilities? They both lost to Noel. Katherine was fine with her defeat, why wasn't he? Suddenly the redhead looking up at her with hatred in his eyes. This caused the girl the flinch slightly, her eyes widening. Was he mad at her? She still didn't have a clue what she had done to cause the Tracer to react like this toward her. Maybe she was being too cocky or over confident? Was that really the vibe she gave off right now? God, she hoped not. She didn't intend to appear that way at all. Then a horrifying thought dawned on her. Was she... acting identical to Soul? She was! Oh, God, no wonder Simmons hates her! Training with Soul had been a good experiance for her, but she never wanted to become Soul. While lost in her own thoughts, she hadn't noticed her opponent activate his Light Booster until it was too late to react. He shot toward her like a missle, causing her eyes to widen as the weight force propelling him toward her quickly closed the distance. His Transcendent Tracer reappeared in the form of that Staff again. She was prepared to dodge or counter, but as he drew nearer she noticed the end of the Staff changed into that of a Shortsword Blade. He was now wielding a Spear aiming directly toward her stomach! 'Where did that come from?' Katherine thought, refering not only to his weapon. But also to his Booster, and to his sudden attitude shift. A glow in the shape of a sphere appeared on top of her left arm, forming into that of her Buckler Shield which she had summoned just in time to block the Spear. As she heard it hit her Buckler, and felt the force of his propelled assault, she herself was pushed back a few meters. She may have been strong, but 800 lbs was a lot of preassure even for her. Thankfully, she hadn't taken the full force as she had stepped to the side slightly, only using her Buckler to prevent the Spear from making contact with her unarmored flesh. Using her right hand, she made a fist as if gripping the handle of a Sword. A Magic Circle appeared at the end of her enclosed fist as she pulled a Long Sword out of thin air. Using the momentum of Simmon's attack, she swung the flat side of the blade into the Tracer's back hoping to knock him off balance. She soon followed up with a quick leg sweep, attempting to completely trip her opponent. Once her moves were executed, she leapt backward a few meters, separating herself from the Blue Pegasus Mage. "What the hell kind of Magic is that? I never saw anything like it!" She half asked, half exclaimed. Clearly he had taken the girl by surprise. She hadn't had the opportunity to truly observe him during his short match with Noel. The lack of information truly put her at a disadvantage. But she was also a fair fighter. Waiting for Simmons to recover from her last attacks, she prepared herself again, stepping into her stance. With one leg forward, being sure to not spread them out too far, she held her Buckler up and her Long Sword tilted slightly, preparing to defend, attack or counter. Whatever may be needed to survive a spar with this Mage who possessed a Magic she knew nothing about. Once he was back on his feet (or back in his battle posture), Katherine wasted no time dashing toward the Tracer at full speed. She was faster than him, that was her one advantage. She closed the distance and appeared in front of him in a matter of seconds. She had become as fast as Soul was during her fight with him. But she couldn't think of the past now. She had to focus on the task at hand. She'd never defeat Simmons with so many distractions. Why did she keep mentally comparing herself to that Dark Mage? Hatred filled her eyes just as it had Simmons earlier. Hatred toward Soul. And hatred toward herself. Without hesitation, she followed through on her previous movements by allowing her blade to play through into a diagnol slash, slicing downward from her opponent's shoulder. Should Simmons use his Tracer to block her slash, she'd prevent any possible counter movement by kicking the Mage in his stomach in order to push him away from herself.
