Stella was about to answer Kain’s question when a voice shouted from the crowd in the street nearby, glancing around to see who they were calling for Stella noticed a tall young man emerging from the crowd waving in their general direction and if her eyes weren’t deceiving her he was looking straight them. Stella looked to Kain and Gale for any signs of a reaction and fair enough Kain seemed to have heard the voice and wished he hadn’t, his ears laid flat against his head and she knew enough to know that wasn’t a happy reaction. Stella’s amethyst eyes turned back to the man approaching them and they took in his general appearance, he seemed to be a pretty normal height at least from the distance he was anyway and he didn’t appear to be overly muscular or anything of the type either. His blonde hair was shaggy and of medium length but it wasn’t until he got closer that Stella noticed his bright emerald coloured eyes and found herself staring at them for a moment before she realised what she was doing. “Hi, you’re a friend of Kain’s?”, the man’s eyes were filled with what seemed to be a gentle nature but there was something about his smile that made the ex-quip mage doubt the entirety of that truth but never the less she had to be civil to the man if he was a friend of Kains. Standing from her seat and reaching her hand out to the man as a greeting Stella smiled back at him, after he either rejected or accepted her offer of a handshake she would step out to the side of her seat and motion to the seat at the table next to him. “Drag a seat over, I will go get another glass and menu for you”, darting off towards the counter without waiting for a reply Stella spoke to the waitress that was returning to the counter and nodded as she was told to wait there and that she would get her what she wanted. Turning to glance back at the table for a moment Stella had an uneasy feeling in her stomach, there was something about the way that Kain was acting to the man’s arrival that had her doubting he was such the close friend that he was acting to be. Snapped from her thoughts by the waitress’s voice Stella turned back around to see the glass and menu being held out in front of her face, smiling embarrassedly at the woman she apologised and thanked her as she took the items from her. Waiting on the spot for a moment and taking a deep breath before heading back to the table with a smile on her face Stella was hoping that the day wouldn’t take another turn for the worst with the arrival of this ‘friend’. Gently putting the glass down on the table in front of the man and the menu beside it Stella gave him a friendly glance before sitting down in her seat once more and gripping her spoon once more as it sat upright in her ice-cream. “So how do you and Kain know each other? If you don’t mind me asking, curiosity always gets the better of me”, Stella finished her words with a glance to Kain to see how he was reacting, she was concerned for the boy and if this man was causing him trouble or bothering him then all he had to do was make a sign she could understand and the not so nice Stella would come out of hiding to aid him. After all he had saved her life it earlier it was the least that she could do for him, as she waited for a reply from either Kain or his friend Stella poured some juice into the man’s glass for him. |

Andrew “Hey, sorry to intrude,” the newcomer said, gladly accepting Stella’s handshake, “yeah, me and Kain go way back, don’t we?” “I’d still say you’re more of an acquaintance” the dog-boy said sourly as his ‘friend’ took Stella up on her offer, dragging over a chair from a nearby table before taking a seat, waving and saying thanks to Stella as she left. “Ouch, I’m hurt,” putting his hands over his heart and acting overly dramatic, clearly not meaning it, “still acquaintances after three years, you’re so harsh sometimes Fenrir.” “Clearly not harsh enough if you’re here…” Kain thought to himself darkly as Stella returned. Despite Kain still looking like he’d rather be anywhere else right now, not having touch his meal since the blond arrived, the newcomer continued to be nothing but friendly to Stella and Gale, smiling as she set down the glass and menu, “Thank you…I still don’t know you’re names…” he started, before seeming shocked, “Oh! I never introduced myself, how rude, I’m Andrew, my apologies; it seems I’m being nothing but rude today.” “Andrew today huh? You’ve taken a liking to that name…” Kain thought to himself, “Just what does he want now?” “Not a problem, I don’t mind at all,” going to answer Stella’s question, “me and Kain here go a long way back, don’t we?” “Yeah…you could say that…” a little bit a fear in Kain’s voice, hoping ‘Andrew’ wouldn’t be too liberal with the truth…though that was always one of his many specialities so the half-demon probably had no real reason to worry. “I suppose we could say we were…business partners of sorts, isn’t that right?” “Something like that I guess…” Kain still not looking all that impressed or happy with the unexpected appearance of Andrew, though he had to admit, the blond hadn’t lost his talent for telling the truth without giving away facts. “Geez, cheer up, you’re acting like I’m a ghost or something, are you really that unhappy to see me?” “N-no, of course not…” which was a complete lie, “it’s just...very unexpected is all,” which was the truth, Kain was pretty confident he was never going to run into Andrew, or anyone else from his past again, certainly not here at least. |

So far so good, as neither Kain nor the stranger had shown any signs of any possible actions that might lead to a fight or worst, though Kain seemed to be a little unhappy with the sudden arrival of the stranger; whatever the reason was, Gale would keep an eye on the newcomer in case he would turn out to be trouble. Watching as the newcomer accepted Stella's handshake after pulling a chair over to the table, he and Kain quickly started a conversation. Quickly into the conversation, the stranger identified himself simply as 'Andrew' Returning back to his steak on the table and cutting a piece of the meat of to eat, he heard Andrew answering Stella's question, and Kain responding accordingly. What seemed wrong about that little exchange was that Gale could have sworn he heard the faintest trace of fear in Kain's voice as he responded to Andrew's statement. Now if they really went back as long as Andrew claimed they were and they were the goods friends his actions had suggested, what is this about being business partners and the fear in Kain's voice? An uneasy feeling quickly filled Gale; there was also something about how he, Andrew acted that strangely reminded Gale about the thieves and liars in the last and only guild Gale had been apart of. He had often watched the fellow guild members as he accompanied them on missions and seen them in action as the sweet-talked everybody they met, always putting up a friendly front and a fake smile while secretly plotting how to relieve this particular person of their money or worse, their life. Hoping that the uneasy feeling was just a misunderstanding on Gale's part or him being paranoid after the recent encounter with trouble, Gale finished his steak in silence while listening to the conversation that went between Kain and Andrew. Kain often gave out the impression that he was unhappy to see Andrew here, or he was just slightly shocked, of the unexpected sudden arrival of Andrew as he stated he was. Wiping his mouth with a tissue that was provided to clean his mouth of the small bits of sauce that had found it's way to the corners of Gale's mouth, Gale put down his knife and fork and looked at Andrew. "So what kind of business partners were you guys? Gale asked as he reached for his glass of juice in front of him. |

OOC Stella might not have had the keen senses that Kain had but even she could tell that there was something going on behind the scenes between Kain and this Andrew fellow, Kain was tense and the ex-quip mage could sense it clearer then day. “My name’s Stella, nice to meet you Andrew”, alright so it might not have been quite as nice as she said it was but that was the polite thing to say was it not? Once again Stella noticed something in Kain’s voice and she found herself wondering if she should think of some reason to get rid of this so called friend of Kain’s, there was definitely an undercurrent that she wasn’t quite catching and it had her sitting on the edge of her seat…almost literally. But it wasn’t until the mage caught the gaze of someone in the crowd that her nerves truly began to go into full drive, why was that man staring at their table and who the heck was he? Swallowing hard at the thought of someone else having tracked her down Stella glanced around for anything, anything to tell her what to do and how to act next. Unfortunately the back’s of people’s heads and furniture isn’t as helpful as one might think and Stella found herself drawing a blank, chewing on her bottom lip slightly she glanced back out to the man standing in the street once more. He has removed his sunglasses and stood with his back leaning against a brick wall looking to the ex-quip mage and those that sat at the table with her with an almost hawk like gaze, looking to the three that sat around her she wasn’t listening to the words they spoke as her nerves started to tune the sounds around her out of focus. She couldn’t just let them be in danger because of her yet again, standing in her seat and bowing to the others lightly as a form of apology Stella gave them an apologetic smile and glance as she spoke. “I’m really sorry guys but I have to be going, I really would love to hang around and chat but something has…come up. Kain, Gale you know how to contact me if you ever want to and Andrew I’m sorry to just meet you and run like this”, Of course by saying that Kain and Gale knew how to contact her Stella was referring to the fact that she had told them what guild she was in and that they could easily find her from that should they need to. Having already paid for the meals of the two she came with Stella didn’t have anything else holding there so with another light bow of her head she waved to the group as she ducked off and out into the crowded street, and made sure to blend into the crowd and weave her way in and out from groups as she made her way down the street, she had to try and lose the guy that was tailing her somehow after all. Stella has left the thread as of this post |

Had Kain not been so caught up with own problem he might have noticed that Stella was uneasy for a totally different reason to the half demon. Rather failing to live up to his heightened senses he weakly said goodbye to the exquip mage without ever really catching on as to why she was leaving suddenly. “Oh, okay, I’ll ah, see you later then Stella,” the fact he was meant to pay for half completely slipping his mind, though even eating the meal in front of him had become unimportant now. Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately for the inugami mage) even if Kain was unable or unwilling to answer Gale’s question, Andrew had no such problem as he finished his farewell to Stella with an energetic hand wave. “Shame she had to leave so fast, she seemed like a lovely girl, anyway, I and Kain were interested in all sorts of knick-knacks, mostly jewellery and the like, anything small and with lots of detail. He mightn’t look it but he was really quite useful in that regard. Like how these aren’t for show,” referring to Kain’s ears, which were still low against the half demons head, “his eyes are many times better than a humans.” Andrew stopped for a drink, a slight breeze blowing in moving his messy blond hair around. “So, between my marketing skills, and his eyes, we’d buy low, sell high, and managed to make a living out of doing that.” While Andrew hadn’t lied yet necessarily, he was definitely stretching the truth for all it was worth. Still, Kain had the question of why. Andrew wasn’t stupid, the blond knew Kain wouldn’t react well to his sudden appearance, so why show up; why intrude like this. Well actually, that was obvious, at least in part. Andrew wanted something from Kain; just he had no idea what, not until Andrew continued to speak. “So, Kain, I actually need to talk to you about our old business, one of our clients….and well, we can continue this here, or somewhere else, your choice.” Despite the warm smile on his face, Kain knew what Andrew meant. “Come with me now or I tell your new friend you’re nothing but a no-good thief.” With a sound that was almost a whimper the half-demon stood up. “S-sorry Gale…this is…probably pretty important. If you need to find me, just check out the guild.” Though the friendly expression on Andrew’s face hadn’t dropped Kain could swear that the blond was actually grinning an almost scary smile on the inside. “See ya Gale! Don’t worry; I plan on returning him in one piece!” Andrew laughed; he was really pushing his luck though as for sure Gale knew something was up. Walking away the dog-boy followed him, and as soon as both of them turned down a small street with no one on it Kain pinned Andrew against a wall, snarling at him. “You better have a very good reason for showing up here!” Despite his situation Andrew remained calm, “I do, though, how about you let me go before everyone in Fairy Tail and the rest of your friends find out where you come from. Or better yet, some acquaintances of the both of ours find out where you’re living now. Would you like that?” Continuing to snarl and bare his teeth, Kain begrudgingly let go of the blond. “Good choice, come on then, I think you’ll want to hear what I have to say then,” Andrew leading the inugami mage away to somewhere more private and secure.
