Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

It looked like since her first Mission with Renji that Katherine Keller would be returning to Magnolia once again, only this time on her own. It seemed a boy was having problems with a bully in the park, so as a change of pace the Exquip Mage would be teaching the kid how to fight for himself. The park would be a good training spot and if the bully shows up, they could teach him that being a bully don't pay.

She'd make a fighter out of him one way or another. Besides, it was this kind of Mission that Kitty had been waiting for. A Mission to show case what she was good at. Fighting and self defense. It'd be different though, for this wouldn't involve her weapons. But she was sure she could handle it. After all, all she had to do was help a kid take care of a Bully... How hard could that be?

As she approached the home of the family in question, the young 15 year old was wearing a tye dye tee shirt, jeans and sneakers. It was one of her more basic style choices, the shirt being multiple shades of blue, the jeans black and the sneakers to match. She stepped up the porch and stood at the door where she proceeded to ring the bell.

As the family would answer she'd offer a friendly smile. "Hello, I'm Katherine Of Fairy Tail. I'm here on a request to help your son with a bully problem."

She didn't look like much. Young, petite, innocent ... but she was quite a warrior in combat. She'd just have to prove she had what it would take to give this boy the braviery, will and ability to stand up for himself.

The boys father had answered the door, and from the look on his face he was not expecting some teenage girl to be the one to answer his wifes request. He sighed and let her in, muttering under his breath, "I guess they can't exactly send any of their best mages for something so minor..."

In the living room there was a boy reading a book, his mother sitting on the couch combing his hair. The father lead Katherine to the living room and said, "Marge, the mage from Fairy Tail is here to teach our son how to fight." This got the womans attention and she looked, expecting to see some rough and tumble mage, all battle scarred and disheveled. Instead she saw this lovely little girl who could not be much older than her own son and she faltered a bit.

"Are you sure she has the right address? I can't imagine someone as pretty as her knows how to fight too well." Marge said and stood up from the couch.

The husband shrugged and the boy just kept reading his book, completely uninterested in what was happening in his own home...

Katherine was smiling cheerfully and even bowed politely to the man as he answered the door. He seemed to be examining her thoroughly in which she stood there rigid under his gaze. Was he perhaps a pervert or something? The way his eyes scanned her frame was very uncomfortable... however she continued to smile politely all the while sweating nervously.

Father

He sighed and let her in, muttering under his breath, "I guess they can't exactly send any of their best mages for something so minor..."

Her smile quickly faded as she heard the man mutter to himself as she was allowed into his home. Did he just insult her? She wasn't too surprised, really. Many underestimated her because she's a girl, she's young and she's petite by most standards. In any case she has such a cheerful carefree nature about her no one would guess she was a actually a decent Mage.

The man proceeded to introduce her to his wife, who was apparently known as Marge. During the introduction Kitty's eyes wandered toward the boy who so nonchalantly read a book without so much as bothering to greet their quest or properly introduce himself. She then heard a woman's voice addressing her and snapped her attention back to the Mother.

Marge

"Are you sure she has the right address? I can't imagine someone as pretty as her knows how to fight too well." Marge said and stood up from the couch.

"Oh, trust me, Ma'am. I'm an Exquip Mage. I've seen quite a few battles, don't be put off by my appearance." She then smiled, bowing politely to the parents before approching the couch to sit next to their son.

"Hi! I'm Kitty! Your parents comissioned me to teach you how to fight so that bully won't bother you anymore! Ain't that cool?"

She was grinning widely at the younger boy, her eyes shut as she grinned in a very goofy way while awaiting his introduction and recognition of her presence.

The boy kept reading, ignoring Katherines attempts to make nice and be friendly. The mother walked over to her son, "Ben, honey, this girl is here to help you with your bully problem." She said as she took the book out of her sons hands. The boy sighed and looked at Katherine immediately looking embarassed and offput.

"But Mom. She's a girl! I don't want to learn how to fight like a girl! I get picked on enough!" Ben said desperately, "Can't they send someone else? Maybe a big tough guy who slings fire from his hands or something?"

The father snorted slightly before stifling his laugh, the mother glared at her husband and said, "Honey they would not have sent her if they didn't think she was capable. So go with her and learn how to deal with that bully."

Ben sighed and got up, "Fine..." He said before running off to get his shoes...

Katherine's smile faded as she felt a bit offput herself by Ben's reaction to her being his trainer. Why were girls always belittled and underestimated? She might be one but she definately didn't fight like one. He was now requesting her to be replaced by a big, tough male that slings fire... to which the Exquip folded her arms and snorted in a very insulted manner.

"I summon and swing around swords! What could possibly be more cool than that?"

She watched as Marge finally coaxed her son into getting off his butt as he ran to get his shoes. Kitty only smiled at that, for her, getting dressed was much easier. All she had to do was use her Magic. As she waited for Ben to slip his shoes on, she placed a finger to her lip looking thoughtful; was she getting lazy by relying on her Magic that much?

It wasn't long before she shrugged off the thought as she stood up from the couch stretching. Once Ben was ready to head out the door with her, she placed an arm around his shoulder and smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, Ben. I won't teach you how to fight like a girl. In fact, I learned how to fight from my Dad before he died in battle. Then i spent 5 years at an orphanage training by myself. Then I got adopted and my new Dad trained me. And I met a male Exquip a while ago that's insanely strong and fast and he trained me too!"

It may sound like she was trying to impress him, and maybe she was, but she was also attempting to reassure him that she could be a good teacher. Maybe if he knew her fighting skills came from great men, he'd feel a bit more relaxed letting her teach him?

Ben walked with Katherine out the door, and as she explained where her talent for fighting came from he bit his lip, "Well alright miss. If you are as good as you're saying you are, then learning how to beat that bully up will be no problem." He said hesitantly, pumping his fists in the air as if he was trying to psyche himself up for actually learning how to fight. Still he was getting excited about this and wanted to do his best, after all if he kept letting bullies push him around for the rest of his life how could he ever get any where in the world. Plus bully's suck big time, they are mean and rotten poo heads.

Ben looked around as they walked through Magnolia and asked Katherine, "So where are we going to train? You Fairy Tail mages got some secret dojo somewhere? Some ultra cool place where you perfect your fighting skills? Am I going to be the first non mage to see it?" His eyes were practically sparkling with excitement over the idea of being trained, now that he was actually outside and on his way to do so.

She smiled in amusement at his attempted psych up and enthusiasm. He reminded her a little of herself around his age, so niave, weak and eager to learn. As he spoke she smiled at him with a tiny giggle, and the replied, "You don't have to call me Miss or anything formal. It's not like I'm an adult or anything. You can call me Katherine or Kitty, if you want. And to be honest I've only ever trained in using swords and stuff... so teaching someone how to fight without weapons is new to me...but I'll do my best!"

Kitty froze a moment at his sudden round of questions as she felt heat rise into her quickly reddening cheeks. Where were they going to train exactly? She hadn't put much thought into location or training methods. She just thought something combat related would be easier for her...

It just became less easy.

"Well, uh, we don't really have a secret training spot. We sometimes train on our own somewhere or have friendly battles against each other. Me, personally, I usually train myself in parks or forests. I fight training dummies... but for you, I'll be your training dummy during your lessons!"

She pumped her fist into the air, and gave the boy a wink while waving one finger at him. "And don't hold back. You can't hurt me, so just pretend I'm not even a girl, okay?"

They soon found themself in the park where Katherine stopped and proceeded to glance around. "If that bully isn't here right now, we can start training in the park."

Ben looked around and, much to his great relief, the bully was not there. There were however lot's of kids running around and playing with their parents, dogs, or friends. Ben looked to kitty with a look of relief, "Alright Miss Katherine. Doesn't look like he is anywhere around here. Are you sure you Fairy Tail mages don't have some secret training spot?" Ben asked before nervously rubbing his arm in anticipation of what they were about to do. He was honestly not worried about hurting Katherine, he was more worried about her hurting him. After all she was a mage in a powerful guild, and he was but a magnolia citizen who couldn't even stand up against a bully.

"So how are we going to start Miss Katherine?" The boy asked politely, not knowing the first bit about combat or how to train for it...

She was looking around at everyone before returning her attention to the boy that was now her aprentice; at least for a little while. She may not be able to make a Mage out of him, but she'll at least give him the skill and courage to stand up for himself and not be pushed around.

She nodded in response to his question. "Yep, I'm sure!" Her expression became thoughtful. "Well, I'm pretty sure..." She then shed a drop of sweat as she laughed in an embarassed manner. "To be honest, I'm still a new member of Fairy Tail myself......"

She was rubbing the back of her head while laughing nervously, before finally taking things serious again. It was time to start training, but first she needed to test his strength. To find out how far he's willing to push back. "All right. We'll start off by testing you first. Hit me as hard as you can."

She braced herself, her legs moving into her balanced battle stance, and as she awaited his attacks she placed her arms up to block herself. She needed to see what she was working with before she could begin the real training...

Ben nodded and clenched his fist, he wasn't exactly liking the fact that he was asked to hit a girl but he pulled back and threw a punch at Kitty, his fist uselessly hitting her block as he also attempted a pathetic kick that didn't go very high. He ended up falling backwards onto his butt and sighing, "I am not very good at this am I?" He asked as he slowly got back up and wiped the dirt from his butt. His form needed work, and he didn't know anything about putting real power behind his attacks. It would seem Katherine had alot of work to do.
