Fairy Tail RPG Current News

Hey everyone! It's May and you know what that means? Yeah, me neither. There's not a whole lot in terms of major news right now, except for maybe some clarification on some forms of magic like usual. As for a new event? Right now, we're just having the April Event (Bosco Invasion part 3) taking place, which runs into the middle of May. But, one cool new thing that we're introducing this month is SS-Class items. Now you have something to grind and agonize over! Yay, isn't that just lovely? I think so. You can find more info on that in the Equipment and Item Creation section in the rules.

That's it for now, folks! If I get anything new to add to this you can guarantee that I will do so. In the words of the immortal douchebag rival, "Smell ya later." Keep on RPing everyone! Kill some Boscans!

It was another peaceful afternoon in Lavender Forest. The birds were singing, the wind was blowing, the leaves were rustling and the Lavender blossoms were as beautiful, bountiful, and fregrant as ever. Around the center of the forest, close to the Merchants but not close enough to disturb nor be disturbed by their activities, rested a Lavender Blossom tree that was the home to a surprising form of wild life.

Sleeping curled up in the soft grass beneath the shade of the Evergreen was a small child. Despite her actual age, she could pass for no more than 8 years old. She was petite, and appeared as vulnerable as a child her age and size could be expected to be. She had strawberry red hair which was held in a loose ponytail and groomed as neatly as an orphan could manage.

She was wearing a blue dress, the sleaves went down into a tiny ruffle around her wrists. The dress was rounded at the neck line, and the bottom stopped above her knees. She had bare feet, which had signs of dirt and scruff marks from her wandering about. From her currently sleeping position a small section of her white panties may be noticed depending on the angle of which one views her.

Her skin was light, and of average shade. It showed no display of being too pale nor tanned in the least. She was very soft and delicate, and under developed in the chest area. She had what most would call a cute or adorable face, the type elderly people can easily fall in love with. Indeed, nothing about her would reveal that she was actually an 11 year old Mage.

This girl, this child that slept so peacefully, was a young orphan known as Adrianna Rodriguez. Despite being an orphan, she refused to be taken to an orphanage nor adopted into a home. She was quite content with her current existance. She surived quite well on her own, and proved her worth by maintaining the adult responsibility of mothering another 11 year old that she had found.

But that is another story, perhaps for another time. For now, we let sleeping dogs lay. Or in this case ... sleeping children.

Indeed, it was a wonderful day in the forest surrounding Poinsetta. Through the thick cover of the overhead trees, rays of light pierced through to the forest floor and giving it a haunting beauty of sorts. It was a more dense portion of the forest, where many trees were huddled together to create a lavender canopy, shielding the grass below from most of the suns light. A young man, a little over six feet in height, strolled across the thick, soft grass. His bright red hair stood out from the rest of his thin frame, which was clothed in blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and blue jacket. In his right hand he held a thick, green book with golden letters etched onto the front of it.

Suddenly, he stopped and looked up, his face catching a ray of light through the forest canopy. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes as he let out a content sigh...

Yet again, Simmons found himself in the Lavender Forest.

He could never quite place what it was that had intrigued him about the area; the strange yet beautiful color of the leaves, the cool yet comfortable shade of the trees, or the hauntingly relaxed feel of it all. Whichever one it was, Simmons would come to the forest on occasion to train his magic or just relax; coming to the forest for some downtime always just....felt right to him. Something interesting always seemed to be waiting for him whenever he traveled here.

Not to mention his meeting with that strange prince Roland and his servant, or what he believed to be a halucination of a wolf-man in the lake.

Today, however, he had come to relax and begin reading in depth the book he brought with him. It was a gift from the Librarian, per the young man's request, from his little business trip to Magnolia. He was eager to read it, yet was hesitant due to what lay inside. He felt it only best that he read the book quietly in the safety and calm atmoshpere of the forest...

As he continued his walk through the forest, he came upon a large, Lavender Blossom tree towards its center. Unlike many of the other trees around the forest, this one was much bigger than its counterparts; a taller and thicker trunk, a more dense foliage of leaves, and a deeper shade of the forests signature lavender color. Slowing to a halt, Simmons gazed up and down the tree as he studied its look. After a moment or two, he decided that this was the best place to rest.

"I've never seen a tree like this before," he thought with interest, "I couldn't think of a better place to begin reading this thing..."

Walking up to the side of the thick tree, he turned around and sat down, his back thumping against the trunk of the tree as he laid back. Shifting to a comfortable position, he pulled up his book, reading the title carefully before he opened it up and began reading...

Dimensional Magic: A Study Of Its Physics Breaking Properties
by Pattel Harmon

As he read his book, he was unaware of the small, sleeping form of the little girl on the other side of the tree....

Embrace Madness! It wants hugs...

Almond had gotten away from it all, she wanted peace and quiet. She had started a day trip to explore Lavender Forest and maybe find some exotic ingredients she didn’t know about. Other than that she was out to see the sights as she had heard the forest was beautiful, and it was.

She had decided not to wear her chefs outfit, instead opting to wear casual pants and a shirt, she still looked like a young boy though, none the less she was happy exploring the forest when she happened on a large Lavender Blossom tree, well she hadn’t really gone that far. Under the tree was a man reading, she didn’t want to disturb him so she walked around the tree at a distance. She saw the small sleeping child too. She moved to somewhere else in the clearing around the tree and sat on a log. She was hungry, so she made herself some lunch. She did this by putting her hands together like eating a sandwich.
“magic make: burger” she mumbled, and a burger appeared in her hands, which she promptly started to eat.

The small child began to stir as she heard something lightly thump against the opposite side of her tree. Sitting up sleepily, she gave a small yawn and balled her tiny hands into fists which she used to rub her eyes before blinking them a couple times as she was greeted by the sun's rays through the tree tops. She then proceeded to look around, to which she spotted Almond in the distance sitting on a log and munching a Hamburger.

But she wasn't the cause of the noise that woke her. She was too far away to have disturbed the sleeping orphan. Crawling on her hands and knees, Adrianna peeked around to the other side of the tree. There she spotted a young man reading a book. Her large silver eyes scanned the page he was reading, however the words upon it meant nothing to her.

She crawled a little closer to investigate this stranger, and should he turn around and take notice of her he would find himself face to face with with an adorable innocent looking child. Her bright and unnaturally silver eyes would be peering up at him with a mixture of fear and curiosity. She wasn't sure what to make of him, and she was too shy to speak up.

As young Adrianna observed the young man and his book, a lavender blossom petal drifted down from the tree making its way lower and lower to the ground. Instead of reaching the ground, however, it landed on the child's nose causing her to let out a tiny cute sounding sneeze.

(sorry I haven't posted....college and stuff...)

The sudden noise, similar to that of a mouse sneezing, startled Simmons out of his concentration. He had thought that he was the only one in the forest currently, and didn't expect any wildlife to sneak up on him at all. His body jumped in shock at the sound, his eyes quickly scanning over to his side where the sudden noise came from. As he turned his head, to his surprise, he came face to face with that of a small girl.

The first thing that caught his attention was her large, silver eyes as the stared right back at him. For a moment, he nearly thought that he had made eye contact with one of the forest's many natural residents.

Shaking off the initial shock and awe, his worried expression became calm and curious. As he looked the girl over, he couldn't help but realize how small she was; she couldn't have been older than 8 or so. What really caugh his attention was the scar over her left eye. It just seemed...wrong for her to have a mark like that on someone her age. She also was barefoot and, judging by her ruffled look, had currently just woken up...

"Who is she," he wondered, genuine worry welling up in him, "And what is she doing sleeping out here all by herself?"

Finally noticing her worried and curious expression, he was nearly overcome with just how ADORABLE she looked staring back at him. Even without her expression, her entire cute demeaner and small body made him want to just hug her and never let go. There was just something about the expression of the curious child that made him whell up with joy and glee, forcing him to smile genuinly at the young girl.

"Oh, you startled me," he spoke, beaming at her, "I didn't know there was anyone else out here....but I guess I'm not the only one who comes to the forest..."

His smiling expression gave off the feeling of safety and assurance; like he would never do anything to harm the young girl. He closed the book, still barely read and clinging from one hand, placing it in his lap.

"But what are you doing out here? Are you alone?" Genuine worry was in his voice as he continued, curious about the small child befor him.

Adrianna scooted back slightly as the young man turned toward her. She felt a little nervous, but after a while she didn't really feel threatened by him. She didn't trust adults, but from the way this man looked she wasn't sure if he was an adult or a teenager. But as long as he didn't pose a threat, she guessed it was all right to talk with him. She still wouldn't trust him quite yet, however, and would maintain a moderate amount of caution.

As he spoke to her, she shifted her position into an indian style, and placed her hands in her lap holding her dress down so that it hid her underwear. She was small, petite, and very under developed indeed, so it was not uncommon to mistake her for a girl younger than 11.

"I didn't mean to scare you. You woke me up and I got curious..." Her voice was small and timid, it held a mixture of the tone of a 8 year old child as well as the intelligance of an older child. "And I'm not the visiter, you are. This is my home. I live here. But I don't mind people hanging around as long as they don't do anything bad."

She smiled sweetly and lifted one small hand to point at the book in his lap. She often saw people come into the forest and sit down with those things, what were they called now? Books? Anyway, as she pointed to it, she asked a question of her own, "Were you reading?"

In response to him asking if she was here alone, she simply shook her head. "No, I have Kyla. But she's not with me right now. We're both 11. I take care of myself and her. Cause she can't take care of herself. So I'm her guardian now."

Almond had finished her food and was watching them, The little one had woken up and had curiously gone over to the boy on the other side. she had startled him and then they had started to talk. Almond watched them, they almost looked like brother and sister, besides the obvious differences. She wondered if she should move over there and join them... but she was uncertain. Would it be rude? She didn’t want to interrupt and be rude... Maybe she should just wait or head on her way, gah decisions, she wasn’t normally a indecisive person, though she was shy, and this was a socially related decision. So she just sat there watching them... ok that might seem a bit creepy... maybe she should just leave. She stood up, she hesitated...

She walked over to them, “Um... do either of you two want a cookie?”

The small child looked up as the young boy (or was it actually a girl?) approached them. Adrianna couldn't really tell right away, for Almond had short cut hair and a boyish figure about her. Her face was kind of between pretty and cute. I guess you could say she was pretty cute. But as she offered a cookie to them, the child tilted her head with curiosity.

"What's a ... cookie?" She questioned. She then wondered if it was anything like the cake that the Knight she met had given to her. Thinking about that delicious treat made the girl's mouth water but then she shook it off and just stared blankly up at Almond.

She didn't bother to stand up, or offer any proper greeting or introduction. It was as if her parents hadn't brought her up in the ways of ediquette and proper manners. Her scar, lack of shoes, and the fact she slept in a forest and had no idea what a dessert was didn't help her case any better.

Adrianna then looked toward Simmons again, as if waiting for him to speak or do something. At this point the girl seemed quiet, timid and a bit confused. But her facial expression only proved to make her appear that much more adorable.

Simmons was taken back by her reply, a suprised look on his face as he stared back at her. He certainly hadn't expected the answer she gave him, saying that she lived in the forest. Also, she mentioned that she was out here with a Kyla, someone around her same age. However, she was apparently 11 as well, leaving no mention of any adults or family. It slowly began to dawn on the young man that maybe she didn't have any family to speak of...

"Were you reading?"

Pulled away from his thoughts, he looked down at the book in question. Picking it up, he turned his body around so that he was no longer leaning against the tree, but facing her with the green book in front of him. He smiled, holding the book out to her so she could read it herself. Though she was a small child, she sounded as if she was more intelligent than her age let on...

"Yep. It's a book about Dimensional magic, written by my great grandfather. Would you like to read it?"

But before she could answer, both of their attention was caught by an approaching figure. Glancing over, Simmons noticed what appeared to be a young boy walking towards them. After a moment, he realized that the individual had been there for a little while, though he hadn't noticed when the young boy had gotten there.

Feeling embarrased for not noticing him, Simmons replied to the assumed young boy, "Uhh...no thanks. Sorry I didn't notice you before...I kind of lose track of what's around me when I start to get into something..."

"What's a...cookie?"

Simmons thoughts came to a complete halt, his body tensing up in shock at the little girls final statement. He slowly turned his head to look at her, his eyes as wide baseballs and his jaw slack. He couldn't believe what he had just heard...this little girl had honestly asked what a COOKIE was?! As if it was some alien concept to her....

It was then that it began to dawn on the Tracer Mage...

"She doesn't know what a cookie is, she's living in the forest, and she's looking after someone of the same age..." he thought curiously, realizing what she was saying, "Is she..."

"Um....hey," he spoke, replacing his shocked expression with a curious one, "You mentioned before that you live in the forest and take care of another kid, right? So, do you have a cottege or house out here? What about your parents, where are they?"

What is a cookie? it was a interesting question that could be interpreted may different ways... but in this case, it was a blatant and obvious question from someone who didn’t actually know what a cookie was, as strange as that may sound.

Almond put her palms together, one hand under the other, then pulled them apart as she did various different cookies appeared between them.
“These are cookies, this one is plain choc chip, double choc chip, triple choc chip, almond, Anzac, and one with smarties instead of choc chips. Go on try one or more, it's not like i can run out.” She said holding them out so they could take the ones they wanted, from Almond's voice can tell that’s she is a she.

The boy seemed concerned, and asked the little girl where her parents were, so they weren’t brother and sister.
