Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Who you calling chocobo head...

Noble, that video, was possible the best 9 minutes of my life, thank you. Tenken you’re also my new favourite person. *hugs* Moving on.

'Watchmaker Arugment'

However, this is meant to be about homosexual marriage, not about attacking the bible. However the bible seems a key issue here, so I must ask, what would Jesus do, would Jesus discriminate?
http://www.wouldjesusdiscriminate.org/
To take one example from the bible…I’m sure you know of David right, sounds like he might have been a little gay (or more than a little) for Jonathan.
1 Samuel 18: 1-4
"The soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul ... And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments ... and his girdle."
By the way they are not the only verses that imply it; just I thought the best example, read all of 1 Samuel and 2 Samual though. After that, take a read from this.

TL;DR Cloud sap story

Whether you read the sap story or not isn’t important, what is though, do you believe people are born gay, or become/choose to be gay? If it’s the first, then how can gay marriage be wrong by the book written by the same man that created all life? If you think it’s become/choose to be gay…then you are ignoring decades of research into human sexuality, but to use a simple example, you would be saying that someone choose to live as a minority group. While I wouldn’t change my sexuality, I would also never wish it on anyone else. Myself and any other queer member of this board will tell you the correct answer is we're born that way.

To answer C.S. Lewis’s question, I think Jesus was an amazing man, generations ahead of his time, who said and did some wonderful things, who also had rather serve mental illnesses. In other words, Lewis offers no correct answer; he wouldn’t be a lunatic just for having schizophrenia, but he also isn’t Lord, he’s just a man who did some incredible things (and I’m not talking about his supposed miracles).

Hoennese and proud!

*hugs back*

As for what Cloud said at the end -and I read the sob-story, so the hug is now doubled in awesomecore power- I have to quote something I said before as I, in my infinite wisdom, have already won this thread.

Quote:

Psychological: Did you know there's no such thing as homophobia? It's not an officially recognised phobia at all. Heck, did you know that the majority of opinions on gay marriage as well as homosexuality in general are made assuming that they are not homophobic (or the direct and controversial opposite)? There is no physically-determined reason why people become homosexual that can be discovered, no imbalance in their brains and whatnot. Psychologically it is actually healthier for people in committed long-term relationships to be officially together, and a single piece of paper, two rings and one usually overpriced ceremony is usually enough to achieve this. If we want a healthier, happier humanity, allowing gay marriage is in fact the right thing to do in terms of everyone's mental health, even the people that find it wrong and whatnot, it's healthier in the long-term rather than stressing yourself against it.

And if you read the rest of it; flawless victory is achieved. Also as evidenced (by me) in this:

Quote:

Historical: Did you know Homosexuality has been around for millenia? In every and all cultures? In fact it wasn't until only very recently -in terms of history- that it has been a socially unacceptable thing. Heck even most mainstream religions used to look the other way until about the 1200s, since before then they were content to let people love whomever they wanted as long as they were following their beliefs, because they were too busy stomping out the more dangerous heretics. This wasn't all that in-depth but it's interesting.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Civil Unions rock.
The governments who don't allow Homosexual marriage are wrong.

And Vassago I'm insulted by you. Instead of debating you're (in your own words) making fun of my beliefs. Yeah the others argued while respecting me and acknowleging opinion. Uhmmm... Please just kindly state your arguements
Arguments, not beliefs, if you're gonna pull the "in your own words" card, at least get my words correct, eh?

Feel free to answer my questions instead of requesting more and ignoring those already stated. If you read through this thread you'll see that you've routinely ignored all of the discussion points you couldn't respond to and instead focused on the few you got an actual answer to. So yeah. You'll get more when you are done with the ones you already have.

The Bible has never been and never was God's word. It was the basis for the way of life for the Jews. THE BIBLE HAS NEVER STATED IT WAS THE WORD OF GOD.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
Just to refute your point because you'll probably say that the Word of God saying its the Word of God doesn't make it the Word of God

I was gonna leave this topic be, but i read the cloud sap story and nearly burst into tears.
If there is truly a God, he does not want his children hurt in such a way, especially not in his name.
I refuse to believe in a God who would damn a person because of the way they were born.
The Church is not God, neither is the Bible. The reason the Bible says no to homosexuality is to differentiate the Jewish culture from others. It's basically a rule/guide book for the Jewish people.
If someone tells you that you are going to hell for the way you are, you have more place in God's embrace than they do.
Homosexuality has been around even before the Human race, in a biological sense it is unavoidable, and is completely natural. God would never hate someone for something beyond their control, how could he possibly hate two people loving each other, regardless of gender?
I leave this topic now. Whether or not you believe in God just remember that whatever a person's sexual preferences they are still Human, and deserve the respect and rights of every Human. You fall in love with a person, not a gender.

I don't support it but I don't really mind either. Even though I don't support it I wouldn't be up in there face saying things like, "GTFO cuz your gay" its just plain rude and judgmental. I find it improbable to shun homosexuals because people are made the way they are for a reason. That is why I don't know what to put "yes" of "no"

But... It really doesn't make it the word of God. Especially since the bible was written after he died. Therefore it was written by his immediate disciples (at best) and from there on it becomes a game of Chinese whispers. Besides that, righteousness is subjective (just like morality, ethics and a whole myriad of other factors that make up an individual)

Whatever I really don't care anymore but the reason I didn't answer some questions was cause I didn't feel like it.

And lastly God is God what is impossible with men is possible with him and the reason I don't answer you further is because I have to go.

Convenient:
con·ven·ient
Adjective

1. Fitting in well with a person's needs, activities, and plans
2. Involving little trouble or effort
3. Occurring in a place or at a time that is useful

Personally, I am good friends with people of Homosexual, Bisexual and 'regular' orientation and, strangely enough, I have yet to see then grow a third head, devour a small child or denounce God (although it seems to me they would be justified in doing so considering the slander campaign they've been subjected to thanks to this so called 'word of god')

So whilst saying I 'support' gay marriage would be a lie because I've never attended a mardi-gras, signed a petition or joined a lobby group- I don't think it is the massive problem that many seem to think it is and in no way oppose it.

WOAH WOAH WOAH this makes my head hurt......i live by the old motto "do unto others as you would have done unto you" as for homosexuality i have thoughts on it but by no means do i try to shove them down ppl's throats. I think well if i was in their shoes then would i like to be treated like that? NO so i treat them how i would want to be treated. Truthfully isnt that how it should be?

*keeps her mouth shut on the bible* i dont wanna offend ppl so i shall remain silent on that one.

*huggles cloud* i dont know why but maybe coz i see everyone else hugging you so i do too? :p
