Backstory (The last time anyone saw James Storm, he was involved in a singles match over a year ago when Raw and SmackDown resurfaced one of many roster splits in this company's history. Storm’s rise to fame in WWE Franchise came out of the ashes of Jim Cornette’s TNA Wrestling where he and Bobby Roode both joined up as the promenade tag team of Beer Money. They were TNA World Tag Team Champions before getting bought out by Vince McMahon and the WWE Franchise. Once reaching a deal, Roode and Storm took WWE Franchise as a powerful force. They single handedly re-ignited the tag team division in 2010. Roode became Intercontinental Champion once Beer Money failed to reach the Tag Team Championships. Thus leaving James Storm out in the cold and trying to find purpose in his career. Storm then resurfaced in the short live Ring of Champions before coming back to WWE Franchise. Storm found out after beating one T.J. Perkins that he still had the urge to compete. He still had the need to reach greater heights. Now the simple man from Leiper’s Fork Tennessee finds himself facing a new challenge.) Roleplay (We come to see James Storm sitting on a stack of hay bales about 5 high and 4 rows deep. He’s inside a pole barn where some hay is scattered around. A red tool box half opened while a large green tractor sits behind the hay bales. Storm’s white tank top is soaked in sweat, his blue jeans soiled in dirt and oils. His long dark hair tied back in tail with a band while a red handkerchief is tied around his forehead. His brown boots covered in mud and animal feces. Sweat running slowly off his face as he’s propped up on the golden stack. He looks out into a small coral area where his calves and cows are roaming. They’re chewing on some straw and eating from a grain bin while the water trough is left untouched. In a pair of nearby stalls, a few horses are growing restless as a WWE Franchise camera crew sets up in his barn. The producer fills Storm in on his talking points and he agrees as the cameras now begin to roll.) James Storm: You know it took me a while to figure why I wanted to come back to WWE Franchise.. I took a good long look at myself in the mirra’ and I didn’t like what I saw.. I took a long look in that mirra’ and what I saw was a man who couldn’t see himself doin’ anythin’ else other than steppin’ foot in between those ropes and takin’ some poor fella’s head clean off his shoulders! What I came to realize is that I needed WWE Franchise more than WWE Franchise needed me.. And I’ll be honest, with a wife and two little kids to feed it’s hard to do it with no money in the bank to show for it.. Livin’ off of government assistance and beggin’ people for help isn’t my thang and it’s somethin’ I’m not proud of but I didn’t it for my family.. (Storm gets a little teary eyed and takes a moment to regain his composure.) James Storm: You will never know what it’s like to see your kids starve.. To see your wife depressed.. To feel worthless as a man because I couldn’t do what a man’s supposed to do for his family! I’m a man with nothin’ to lose.. I’m a man with everythin’ to gain.. Tonight I’m told that I’m in a tag team match with a man named Sheamus, a fiery Irishman who loves a good fight and a good beer to go with it. Brother, I’m right there with ya.. That’s just my style but I had a chance to hear what you said ‘bout me boy.. I don’t take kind to those words in which you spoke of when it came down to me.. Sheamus you don’t know who you’re dealin’ with here son.. YOU don’t even want to push me ‘cause I’m far enough over the edge. (He raises up off the bales and begins to walk towards the backside of the barn where he has a few photos hanging from early moments in his career. Most of the photos feature himself with Bobby Roode. He throws his hands up against the wall and leans forward. Forehead pressed against his forearms while he snorts and spits on the ground below him. He glances into the camera.) James Storm: I’ve always wanted to as a team with Bobby, to face a team the caliber of the New Age Outlaws. There’s not much of a difference ‘tween the two of us. It would’ve made for a good fight but you know I don’t have to have Bobby by my side all the time. I’m out here to make strides on my own. I’m here to be my own man. Sheamus as my partner makes it nice, makes it even but it’s not going to stop me from makin’ the best of my time in that ring this week. I’m gonna make a statement this week and it’ll be at someone else’s expense.. It just leaves at who it’s gonna be? I’d like it to be a win for me.. I’d like it to be the start of me gettin’ back on track and makin’ the promises to my family mean somethin’ again.. I’d like it to be my chance to rise towards some individual redemption and validation for I am an empty person.. I am an empty vessel who needs to be filled.. I’m hungry.. I’m thirsty.. And I will get what’s mine! I will get everythin’ I am due! (James turns from the wall and paces slowly towards the coral gate where the cows are.) James Storm: Now I ain’t tryin’ to be bitter, that’s not how I am. Yet I have a right to step up to the plate. I have a right to accept the challenge of tryin’ to become the best here in WWE Franchise. Thus leadin’ me to this tag team match this week. This is my beginning! This is my Genesis! You boys need to saddle up and put your cups n’ mouth pieces in for it’s gonna be a long hard ride! (As Storm stops at the corral gate he slams the palms his hands into the top of the gate. Distress clearly in his face as the scene comes to an end.) |
