"Quite nicely, in fact, Admiral, thanks for asking. In fact, she's doing very well, considering what she's been through." ooc: I'm running with the general contention that we have as much time as we'd like before we make the jump. If anyone has a scientific reason why not, please let me know. |

NPC: Admiral Ross "What has she been through, Captain?" the admiral asked, smiling. Erica Ross Ross clutched her fists in anger. She hated having to see her father, and hearing him talk about her as if she wasn't in the room made her want to strangle him. |

Rezit was amused/concerned about Adm. Ross's actions, but was shocked at LCdr. Ross's response. He made a "calm down" motion that the camera didn't pick up, and looked back. "I'm sure you've read her report, Sir." |

NPC: Admiral Ross "No Captain, I haven't read her report yet. The last report I read was about the incident that happened." He turned to face Erica. "You got my message, right?" Erica Ross "Yes, sir," Ross answered, trying not to show the pain in her voice. "I have informed the captain about the Picard Problem." Edited by Chief Engineer LCdr. "Yes, Admiral," Rezit quickly said, glad to get to something he could relate to. "I was wondering if you could give me more information about that. What are the mission parameters?" Edited out: What's the incursion factor?" Edited by Captain Chaim Rezit, Jun 22 2008, 08:28 AM.

Kirat manned his station on the Bridge, and his fingers danced deftly across his panel. Although he had no way of knowing how badly the timeline had been damaged by Jean-Luc Picard's absence aboard the Enterprise, he could make estimations by entering the parameters into a temporal simulation - which he swiftly did. The results sent a shiver lancing across his spine. "No Picard means no Locutus, which means no destruction of the Borg cube, which means the assimilation of Earth...but before that, the Borg had already foiled First Contact, meaning that..." he muttered quietly to himself. The ramifications of this were beyond comprehension. |

ooc: I'm going to post something in the "Temporal mechanics" thread about the incursion factor. Until we get is straight, I'm just going to ignore it, i.e. I'll edit my last post.

James looked at Kirat. "Good God, are you saying that? Him not joining starfleet meant that Human Vulcan First Contact never occurred?" |

Kirat was momentarily startled by Duncan's interjection, but quickly recovered and settled his hard stare upon the science officer. "I was not addressing you, Lieutenant. You should be focusing on your duties, rather than mine," he said in a cold-yet-polite tone. "And you should know that there is no way for me to determine the extent of the temporal damage without specific details. Depending on how events unfolded, the Borg may not have needed to have gone back to the point of First Contact because of their victory without Locutus." |

OCC: If Picard never enrolled into Starfleet then Q would of not sent them to the Borg which means that they would of never tried to assimilate Earth and tired to go back and foil first contact. That means that the Borg sphere would not have been destroyed in Earth's past so the crew of the NX-Enterprise would of never encountered them. When the Borg encountered the first Enterprise crew they sent out a message to the Borg that would not reach them until the 24th century. But because Picard was not in Starfleet all of that never happened so we never made first contact with the Borg. |
