Sir, we were trying to figure out who would want to stop Picard from joining Starfleet, but not care about killing him. Wesley Crusher came up. By stopping Picard, Jack Crusher would not join the Stargazer and never die.

That's an interesting thought Commander, especially considering that Crusher's the Captain of the Enterprise. Things were starting to click, but what if they were putting two and two together and getting five?
