David looked right back at him. "I'll tell you what I did. I had the same problem that you do. I wanted to go into an aviation school that was taught by Starfleet and my parents said no. I went through the program anyway without their permission. I got my wings and that year I helped save a few lives because I could fly a shuttle. I made my parents proud that I became a pilot. They apologized to me for refusing to let me go. That's what you need to do Jean-Luc. You will go back and pass the entrance exam with top marks, go on to Starfleet and make you parents proud of you. I know you will." David said |

"When I was younger, I wanted to be a pilot. I am in the Civilian Air Patrol back in New Jersey in the US. I still fly around every once in a while." David said |

OOC: Is it just me or is this the third time I posted this? Anyway, I guess we can let that slide, but did they still have that? . BIC: He nodded. "I hear what you're saying, but how can I even walk in there? It'll be too..." he paused. "Hold on. Your parents didn't want you to do that? |

"No they did not. They said it was to dangerous. You see, they started you on the ancient piston-driven aircraft from the late 20th century. After that we moved on to the jet powered aircraft. Only when we had flown both aircraft did they let us use shuttles and those were in simulations." David said |

"So you see, it's a lot different! Your parens were concerned for you- mine are just concerned about me not breaking their stupid heritage!" He angrily kicked at a stone on the path. "It was hard enough the first time. How do I go about doing it again?" |

"No Jean-Luc. I was in the same boat as you. My parents wanted me to be a doctor just as their family's had done since the third world war. I had to fight them on that too. As I said before, I entered the pilots school without the blessings of my parents but I got them to see that I was a pilot not a doctor." David said. |

He sighed, them stood up straighter. "You know what? You're right. I'll show them that I'm not afraid of failure, that I can do it all over again." He smiled. "[hank you very much you giys," and with that he confidently walked up towards the house. |
