Chief Engineer's personal log star date 557493.7: I'm ready to relax after my shift in Engineering. With all the new crewmen joining the ship, engineering has become crazy. This is the exactly wrong time for new officers to join, what with the whole incident with my future self. After another stressful day at work, running scans all over the warp coil, trying to get it ready for departure, all I want to do it replicate a mug of green tea, and read up on the officers of the U.S.S. Voyager. She didn't get the chance. When she walked into her quarters the computer was beeping, announcing that she had a message from Starfleet. It was from the "amazing and wonderful" Admiral Ross, her "dear" father. "Hey, honey," her father smiled weakly up from the screen. "sorry to bother you. I heard that you had finally gotten another job. Please don't mess this one up like you did the last one." Ross snarled, anger building up inside of her. It wasn't her father's place to criticize her. Yes, her father was a high ranking Admiral, but he had never been part of Erica's life, and Erica wasn't ready to bring out the welcome mat for him. |

Rezit walked off the lift turbo lift, nodding at a security officer as he supervised the various new crew members check into quarters. He was glad... no, satisfied, to see his ship slowly filing up. He looked at the list of new members, and his gaze settled at the one name that caught his attention before. "Lt. David Cohen, fighter pilot." He had been top in his class, and he wanted to discuss a few things with him. Computer, locate Lt. Cohen. ![]() Lt. Cohen is in his quarters. ![]() He rolled his eyes. duh! And where are his quarters? ![]() Third door on your right. ![]() Shaking his head, he walked up to the door and rang the bell. |

David was wearing a dirty old flight suit that was covered in grease and whatever else leaks from the fighters, getting ready to inspect the fighters and he finished getting his repair kit when the door chimed. "Enter" he said. He turned around and saw the captain. "Sir. I didn't expect to see you so soon. I was on my way to see the fighters" |

Rezit held out his hands. "At ease, Lieutenant. I just came by to meet the new crew. How are you adjusting so far?" His eyes grazed over the flight suit and he half-raised his eyebrow. |

"Not bad, not bad at all." He'd never show it, but he had very mixed feelings about these attack fighters. He saw them as a necessary evil, something which shouldn't be needed. It messed up the uniformity of Starfleet and made them a breed of their own. Some, like Cohen, had taken on secondary tasks to integrate with the crew, but others just stayed on their own, socializing in their own circles, not really getting to know the other "guys." There's a reason all the different branches of the military were merged, he would say, but only to those few who he knew wouldn't be insulted by it. He didn't know this knew pilot well enough to say either way, so he just let it go for now. "Did you bring your own ship?" He asked, instead. |

"No, I did not sir. I had only a few months on the Midway and we saw little action so I did not see the need to request a fighter. That's one of the reasons why I am going down to see the fighters. The other reason is that factory new fighters are always problematic. The shipyards always add "new ideas" without really testing them or getting pilot input when they design a new fighter." LCdr. Ross to Captain Rezit, I need to see you as soon as possible. Ross moved away from her computer, shaking all over. Why did her father always have to pop up at all the wrong times? |

After several hours of deliberation combined with research into temporal physics and far too many mugs of raktajino, Kirat Ofori had decided that he didn't like Erica Ross. At first, he had admired her directness of speech, and her brisk efficiency. But then he had spoken sincerely with her in the Mess Hall over her request to delve into her mother's death - and he had witnessed nothing but an officer being clouded by emotion that should have known better. Still, he had chosen to indulge her request if for nothing more than to occupy his time. Now, with several PADDs clustered under one arm, he approached her quarters with an utterly bored expression. He was anticipating an overly enthusiastic response from the chief engineer...and he had little time for such overt displays. Pausing outside her door, he keyed the bell and heard its familiar chime sound within. |
