Hopefully a place where you can get a bowl of some Matzah Ball soup and some advice on spiritual matters.

Posted by: Dr. Cornelius Creed Dec 31 2007, 11:38 PM
"Mmmmmm," Cornelius hummed seductively as he slid his spoon out of his closed mouth. The cold, creamy sensation tickled his palate as the sweet, sublime flavors washed over his tongue. His eyes were shut tightly as the creamy goodness slid down his esophagus.

"Quincy, what did you call this again?" he asked, pointing at the tall, frothy glass in front of him with his spoon.

Posted by: Commander Quincy Jones Jan 1 2008, 01:14 AM
I believe that you are referring to the ice cream you are eating. So what can I do for you Doc?

Posted by: Dr. Cornelius Creed Jan 1 2008, 03:02 PM
"Mmmm, delicious!"

He dabbed his napkin on his lips and set it down on the table. He drilled into Quincy's big blue eyes with his own brown ones as he smirked wryly.

"How did you know this was all just pretense?" he asked, impressed at Quincy's uncanny interpersonal skills.

I have a knack for noticing that people have things on their mind and try to preempt them so as to relieve the tension that might be.

Posted by: Dr. Cornelius Creed Jan 6 2008, 11:18 AM
"Really?" Creed said. "You have a true gift!"

He paused for a long while unsure of how to tell the First Officer his concerns. It was not his department and even less of his buisness.

Posted by: Commander Quincy Jones Jan 13 2008, 01:47 AM
"That I do Doctor," he paused for a moment---"sometimes." "So Doc, what's on your mind? What would you like to discuss?"

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Jan 13 2008, 02:18 AM
Erica Ross stood outside Cdr. Jones' quarters, wondering if she was making a mistake. It wasn't that she needed any spirital help, she didn't believe in G-d, but her insides had been burning with pain all day, and she knew it wasn't because of anything medical. Ever since she had heard her mother's voice, she hadn't been able to eat, sleep, even work at her normal speed. As that there was no ship conselor on board, the next person Ross could think to turn to was the Rabbinical supervisor.

Her hand reached for the door chime (ooc: what is the thing called that you press to let the person inside know your outside?) and stopped. I don't need help, Rossed silently yelled at herself, I can fix this own my own. Her heart seemed to believe differently, and, as if with a mind of its own, her hand cntinued its journey to the door chime and pressed it.

Posted by: Dr. Cornelius Creed Jan 13 2008, 03:05 AM
"Um, were you expecting company, Rabbi?" Creed asked when the door chimed.

ooc: I'm guessing door chime. I don't think I've ever heard a name for it.

Posted by: Captain Chaim Rezit Jan 13 2008, 03:38 AM
ooc: The books seem to differ. Chime, bell, "announcer"... take your pick. But the bell definitely "chimes," unless it changed in 500 years.

Posted by: Commander Quincy Jones Jan 13 2008, 09:47 AM
"No doctor, but as you know.....my door is always open. Just give me a second. Enter."

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Jan 13 2008, 05:08 PM
Erica breathed deeply as she entered Cdr. Jones' quarters. She froze at the sight of Dr. Cornelius Creed sitting there eating ice cream. Just great, Ross thought the whole ship will know I have a problem now.
"Cdr.," Ross whispered with a sigh, "I didn't realize you had commany. I'm sorry." She turned to leave, embarrassed to let the two men in front of her see her blush, and see the tears forming in her eyes.

Posted by: Commander Quincy Jones Jan 14 2008, 07:54 PM
"Not at all, not...at...all, is there something you want to discuss with me. The doctor and I were just sitting around eating ice cream. I don't think you interrupted anything, Doctor? he looked to the doctor in a questioning tone

Posted by: Dr. Cornelius Creed Jan 15 2008, 02:05 AM
"I-interrupting? Most certainly not!" Creed said trying to make Ross feel a little less frazzled. "As a matter of fact, I was about to leave -" he set down his spoon, "-I'll leave the two of you alone."

He clearly saw the agitation in Ross's face and thought it best to give her a chance to talk with the Rabbi alone. He drifted towards the door and beckoned to the Rabbi. "We can talk later," he said as he nudged his head in Ross's direction.

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Jan 24 2008, 06:09 PM
Erica Ross watched the doctor walk out of the room. She shook quietly, nervous about what she had come to talk about.

"Cdr. have you read my file?" she asked taking the now empty seat.

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Jan 29 2008, 12:10 AM
As you can see from my file, my mother died on deep space 4. No one knows how DS 4 blew up, but it did and its always been hard for me to accept her death. Tom. is going to be the 20 year anniversary of her death.

Posted by: Commander Quincy Jones Feb 4 2008, 01:17 AM
Quincy looked closely trying to read the engeneer's face. He realized that this was an important situation and he would have to tread lightly. "I see, can I offer you something to eat. I find that a good bowl of soup does the trick."

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Feb 5 2008, 12:22 AM
"No thank you, sir," Ross sat up straight. Her stomach growled loudly, but she ignored the noise. "I never did anything for my mother. There was nothing left of her after she... was... was..." she swallowed deeply. "I didn't do anything for her memory, just left starfleet, the place she called home." A tear trickled down her face, showing Lt. Link a small bit of emotion.

ooc: Did I miss somethink? Is Jason there too?

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Feb 5 2008, 10:13 PM
ooc: that was a mistake. I meant Cdr. Jones. Sorry abt that.

Posted by: Captain Chaim Rezit Feb 5 2008, 10:22 PM
ooc: No problem wink.gif I was just confused.

Posted by: Commander Quincy Jones Feb 7 2008, 12:10 AM
Usually when someone refused a bowl of soup it didn't matter to Quincy but he saw that the chief was going to need it. He went to the replicators and ordered. "Computer two bowls of Chicken Noodle soup." He handed one over to the chief and said, "I won't take no for an answer Chief."
He put down the bowl and sat for a second pondering his next move. "What kind of woman was your mother?"

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Feb 7 2008, 07:11 PM
Ross stared at Cdr. Jones and sat silently for a minute before speaking. "Sir, my mother was the only person who ever cared about me. I never was popular in school, but when I can home my mother would make me laugh and smile." Ross frowned, thinking about those long afternoons, singing songs, playing chess, just enjoying herself with her mom.

She stood up and placed the untouched soup on the table. "My mother did everything for me, even left Starfleet for a few years to raise me. I never repayed her." Erica sighed. "An entire space station was blown up 20 years ago, and Starfleet was never able to find out how it happened. The most I can do her my mother is reopen the case and find out who murdered her."

Posted by: Commander Quincy Jones Feb 10 2008, 10:20 AM
Th:"Wow, this is one tough cookie. No wonder she's so tough on herself." Quincy looked to her realizing this is going to take some time. "Would you like to talk more about it? I can see you have alot that you would like to get off your chest."
He asked her quietly, "DS4 huh, I remember when it happened. Well relatively speaking of course. What was her position and assignment?"

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Feb 13 2008, 01:09 AM
Ross turned back from the door. "She was chief science officer onboard the U.S.S. Mercury, but had been assigned to Deep Space 4 to study a bacteria that had been found on a new planet."

She wiped a tear away from her eye. "Sir, I know you proboly should not let me open up my mother's case, being that it was offically closed 16 years ago. But, if you could help me to find the murder..." her voice shook.

Posted by: Commander Quincy Jones Mar 31 2008, 09:49 AM
He thought for a moment. "You know chief that that's really not possible to do that. Cases that have been closed were closed for a good reason. It means that they were looked into fully and found to be inconclusive. Tell me, what do you hope to accomplish by reopening the case?"

Posted by: Chief Engineer Erica Ross Mar 31 2008, 07:18 PM
Erica growled and looked straight at the first officer. "Sir, it was a mistake coming here at all. All I know is that Star Fleet did not give my mother's case the effort it deserved. I myself spent a little over a year working on the case, before the file was closed. I was getting close to a find. Sir, I just want to avenge her death." She looked down at the floor, trying to think of the correct wording. "If you won't help me, I'll do it myself, but sir, if you do help me, you can monitor what I'll seeing, and keep me out of what I shouldn't be in."

The first officer still looked worried.

"Sir, wouldn't you be doing everything you could if it was your mother that had been on the space station?"

He thought for a moment. It was tough he thought, growing up in the environment that she did. She just wanted to avenge her mother's death. The only thing was that Starfleet codes didn't permit her. They didn't permit her..... But that didn't stop him. He just had to check with the captain to make sure he wasn't doing anything over his head. "Chief, give me a day or two to think about it and check back with me. I just need some time to run through the details ok?"

She looked at him and the look she gave was "let anyone know about it and you're dead."
He looked straight back at her and didn't back down at all. Finally she nodded and left without another word.

"Now," he thought, to find the Captain.

Ross walked quickly out of Cdr. Jones quarters, and slid down the wall outside. She sighed, trying to hold back the tears. This was it. She had finally been able to get a high ranked officer to help her in her mission. She had been so close to figuring it all out on her last ship, but the captain had caught her going into classified files. This time would be different- this time she'd solve the mystery.

Erica pulled herself together, and rose to her feet. Her stomach growled loudly. "Ok, ok," she whispered, trying to hush the sounds. I guess it's time for me to eat something." She began to walk to the mess hall. As she walked, her thoughts flew from roast beef to her mother's famous lasagna. She turned, and walked straight into another crewman.
