| 20 year old didn't know who Prince was | |

I was in the barber shop Saturday, and there was a 20 year old black kid in there who didn't know who Prince was. Everybody in the barber shop was black and we were all SHOCK that this young black kid didn't know who Prince was. That's not good at all, it shows that black people are not doing a good job of passing down knowledge of our history to the next generation. If he doesn't know who Prince is, then I know he doesn't know who Mile Davis, John Coltrane, and Jimi Hendrix is. A 15 white kid can tell you who the Beatles and the Rolling Stones are. When you go to a Paul McCartney or a Rolling Stones concert you see generations of whites at those concerts. You see the grandparents, parents, and their kids at those concerts. That's how young white kids know who their great Rock legends are. Black people we have some serious work to do. |

I'm not surprised. Assuming he started paying attention to music at 10(and that's a stretch) in 2006, What hit has Prince put out since 2006? |
