It is mandatory that everybody buy health insurance in America, and if you don't buy it then you will have to pay a fine. That is a law that was passed by the federal government. People texting and driving kill over 5000 Americans every year, and injure over a half a million people. Being POLITE and asking people not to text and drive isn't working. It's time for the government to make itself useless and stop these killers on the road that want to text and drive. Technology companies comes out will all kind of new features in their phones every year. Car companies are constantly adding more technology devices in cars every year, creating more of a distraction for drivers. Those companies don't care about human life, all they only care about money and making a profit. It's up to the government to protect the citizens, that's the role of government. The government should FORCE technology companies to put devices in their phones that prevent them from working while a person is behind the wheel and driving. They should pass a law to force car makers to do the same. People texting and driving kill way more people than all of the terrorist put together. Second hand smoke will KILL YOU, and that's why it's against the law to smoke inside public buildings. Because you don't have to die because of other people bad choices. When a person is texting and driving that car then becomes a weapon. You have a right to buy a beer, but you don't have the right to drink and drive and put other people lives in danger. You have a right to own a cell phone, but you don't have the right to text and drive and put other people lives in danger. You don't have the right to check your Facebook page while driving killing innocent people, and seen in the video below. Edited by Travis, Apr 18 2016, 03:50 AM.

Didn't the government pass a law to force people to buy health insurance? If they can do that they can force technology companies to build their phones in a way that would prevent then from working while people are driving a car. People texting and driving is a serious threat to everybody. Edited by Travis, May 3 2016, 04:12 AM.

How? Same way you are able to know which websites to stalk me onto, since 2009, and the same way you know which men you seek to name yourself after their rectum when you create usernames for accts. |

Nah.. They need solutions if it's such a pressing problem, but that is not the solution... To stop a phone from working while u are driving?? What if an emergency situation presents itself while I'm driving and I'm not able to stop the car to use the phone?? |

They have devices in stores now that will prevent your cellphone from working while driving. The government should force cell phone companies to put that technology in all of their phones. You can't leave it up to stupid people to decide whether not to text and drive. |
