It's really crazy how many people will risk losing their jobs over the need to be a pot-head.
But I don't know anyone who lost their job over it. I've never even heard of such a case.
Most jobs run back ground checks and do drug screens, before hire. After that, they can do random or annual checks, depending on the policy of the company. We did them randomly on the nurses, doctors, PT, OT, do to them having access to drugs, and the nature of their job.

I don't give a damn why anybody smoke weed, black or white.
I think I pointed that out! - Quote:
-
The inability to deal with issues, in which plagues, most black men.
The fact that the intact of this drug is affecting your 'brothers' and you don't care, is exactly what is being stated. Do tell us, what do 'real black men' like you guys, care about? Surely it's not education, crime, diseases, etc..for those things are prevalent, so it must be something else..
I don't care about guns either but I'm not going to hit the streets and tell niggas to put them down. Weed is the least of a black man's problems. There are plenty of successful black folks smoking weed and how do I not have the ability to deal with black issues and UTB does, just because he post this bullshit?
You are not, comprehending.. See this? - Quote:
-
Recreational habits are for those who can afford them.
You, not UTB, YOU are one of the many, always decrying about how the white man, gets away with murder.. You are the one, who should be doing something about it..if not, then stop 'whining' about it. It's just that easy. Last time I checked, weed was not expensive. What does it matter if you can afford it or not if it's tearing down your community. Alcoholics can afford their drinks so does that make it ok?

It's really crazy how many people will risk losing their jobs over the need to be a pot-head.
When I was in HR, I took a risk on a young man. I told him, you are not like the others. You don't have the same tenure as them, the same title as them, nor the backing of this company, as them. He went out with them one night, smoked with them, and didn't know, we had random drug testing. He got tested, (due to his 90 day probation period ending), and tested positive. I called him down, told him the results, he got mad, and I said, which is more important to you? To be able to do what others do, or to keep a roof over your fuk'n head, feed your damn kids, and buy them school clothes? I had his dumb ass escorted off the premises!!
You beat me to the punch. HR folks do administer random drug tests. Some people can't even go through a probation period drug free. Somehow, the need to get high comes before the need to secure stable income. Especially in this culture we have now. We had so many people, get caught with cannabis in their system. We also have a lot of people with prescript drugs, without having a prescription!
Had a nurse come back with Valium in her system, said she took it to sleep. I asked for her prescription bottle, didn't have one, told her to go home and get some rest
To be honest, had the same issues with people and religion. Even tho it's not illegal, you can't bring your beliefs to work, and want others around you to hear your prayers and chants..

So what happened to the "Big Whigs" that smoked too? Were they black or white? Why didn't they set a better example for this young man. You worked for a company that didn't give a shit about it's young black folks but you're calling us out? Pay attention, if you're complaining, it's your job and duty to fix the problem. When was the last time, you heard me complaining about the white man, and what he does to me?
If you're not willing to step up and take care of the issues you complain about, stop talking about them. You begin to sound like a whiner..and not a proactive person.

There is no white man in my way or stopping me from doing anything. It's not my job to take care of others who don't take care of themselves.

So many people labor under the belief that exceptions should be made for them.
I bet the personnel files in your HR department contain some very interesting information.

Quit acting like if a black person uses the term white man or woman, they are weak.

Because I found that HR was never up to the par with standards they impose on other employees. These people drank alcohol and did other drugs on the job, were habitually late, and even committed sexual harassment that they got away scot free with. It's basically the same as the political world, that's very dirty but expect a very clean public.
And dirty parents who expect clean children.

So many people labor under the belief that exceptions should be made for them. I bet the personnel files in your HR department contain some very interesting information. Today, just look around, and notice the people you work with. Some ignore the dress code, they reek of 'odor', they curse, etc...
Every day someone is stretching or breaking policy, however you can't fire them all..
I have a supervisor send an email to all upper management, stating that she didn't want anymore AA's in her department. They came to work late, were loud, etc..
The email was forwarded to me. I ask before I call her in, I want to see, any responses back to her, for if anyone responded back to her, agreeing, I needed to see them also.
I don't miss HR at all!! It's like being a mom to many stepkids.
