There are those "super bugs" that are antibiotic resistant and I sometimes wonder if STD's will become that way too.

New superbug resistant to last-line of antibiotics: study

STDs On the Rise, Says CDC
http://abcnewsradioonline.com/health-news/stds-on-the-rise-says-cdc.html

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- The number of annually reported cases of sexually transmitted disease is increasing, according to a new report, and some are increasing at an alarming rate.

According to the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, sexually transmitted syphilis is up by 15.1 percent, and syphilis transmitted from mother to infant is up by 27.5 percent. Chlamydia has increased by 2.8 percent from 2013 to 2014, while gonorrhea has increased by 5.1 percent during that same time period.

Most of the increase has been in the male population, 83 percent are from men who have sex with men. It's worth noting that syphilis, which is a disease that can cause sores on the genitals, can also make it easier to transmit and acquire HIV.

The 2014 data shows that young people between 15 and 24 account for a disproportionately high percentage of STDs; they’re getting about half of the estimated 20 million new STDs diagnosed each year.

Even with these increases, the CDC suspects the real numbers are higher, since many go undiagnosed – a particular problem in women, as it is estimated that more than 20,000 women become infertile each year due to undiagnosed STDs.

I can understand the youth, their brains are solely on what's happening at that moment. Can't see past, getting it now. I don't excuse them, just understand where they're coming from.

However, the other group, is disappointing. How is it, that mature adults don't understand, that a disease, can be deadly??

Funny story, my oldest start dating a young man, a few years back. She said, before we get too serious, I will need an AIDS test, a criminal background check, credit history, etc, ANNUALLY..

He said sure :D (any opposition, red flag)

@Snide, now you see why, I value my body highly. :D

This may be a fact, there is lots of promiscuity and western society has become very lascivious. Being careful must take on a new meaning if one is to navigate today's sexual minefield. :ermm:

This reminds me of this chic I took on a date way, way, way BITD in Boston. I worked with her friend and her friend wanted me meet this girl. Anyway at dinner on the date, she mentioned wanting to see my bank statement before we went further.
I remember smirking and thinking if this little gold digger thinks she's seeing my bank statement just for some pussy, she better think again.

I picked her up from her momma's house.
She didn't have a car.
She didn't have her own place.
I had my own apartment in a neighborhood better than her momma's.
I'm the one that took her out to a fairly upscale restaurant I might add. And she wants to see my bank statement? :D :D Normally I didn't and don't care about that sort of stuff but starting off like that told me that was the last time with her. I wasn't desperate.

She was kinda cute, just a little thicker than I usually prefer. I prefer them built for speed, not for comfort. ;)

Well, plagues and diseases are a part of human history as you well know Z. And yes many can be attributed to sexual activity throughout the times and across cultures.
Of course as it has been, we have to be careful while striking a balance with having sex as intended. Otherwise being fruitful and multiplying comes to an end.

By the way, lasciviousness? I see it as just being more open, more honest in western cultures.
The lie is with those who try to hide their lust behind closed cultures or eastern cultures who lust for 69 virgins in heaven and/or engage in sex with youngsters.

Redd, tell your daughter she better keep her shit together and up to date for the rest of her life and don't become a victim of her own requests. I've seen many women whom had their professional life intact and ended up with some of the most ignorant niggas around.

I'm not averse to a background check but the most I've ever done is ask to visit the doctor together before agreeing to "no glove". As far as a criminal background check, and credit history... I think you'll have clues as to what those look like from getting to know a person, discussing things that are important, and spending a lot of time with them in the real world.
