So yes, that also means it is nonsensical to go saying it would be better if soldiers in the military were not married nor having kids.
If a soldier is a normal person with a sound mind, then it's bizarre to think he or she should not be married to and procreating with, a trustworthy spouse. Marriage is a wholesome circumstance, meaning it can only compliment humans fighting against the challenges of a military career.
Being in the military can be like, prison, during War Time plus often during Peace Time. So soldiers need the love of the family that they created, to help them make it through.

It would be better if our male and female military were not married or in committed relationships. Women & men both cheat, it's not just one or the other.
I would like to believe, that while spouses or SO are fighting for their lives & country, that their partners remained loyal & committed. It's not always the case.
As you said it goes both ways. When I was stationed in Germany where brothels are legal , the married guys in my unit were getting laid on the regular. Luckily this didn't turn out worse than it did

but I wasn't referring to crimes of passion nor TX ... I was focused on the military soldier and how he benefits mentally/emotionally/psychologically when he has kids at home to call up and talk to, whenever he gets a short break/quick rest out there, from war in the battlefield.

one's spouse is more detrimental to human-sanity, than one's kids.
which is why I put the more important, emphasis, on a soldier knowing she/he has a faithful spouse at home.
