When Rap music started out it was clean and positive, and it wasn't destructive to the black race. But then came NWA (niggers with attitudes). Before then rappers wasn't calling themselves niggers. NWA started rapping about violence and the gangster lifestyle. They also disrespected women in their songs, something that wasn't seen in rap music up until that time. They were calling women bitches and ho's and everything else. RECORD companies started pushing this type of negative rap music, and 25 years later we are still seeing the negative affects of the type of negative Rap that NWA started. A movie is now coming out about NWA. They showed negative images of black people and they should not be praised. Because their music did a lot of harm and damage to the black race, by having young people think that the gangster lifestyle was cool. Some of their songs. Here is one of NWA songs called One Less Bitch Lyrics----I tied her to the bed, I was thinking the worst/But yo, I had to let my niggas fu-k her first/Yeah, loaded up the 44 yo/Then I straight smoked the hoe" In the early stages of rap it was clean like this, Run DMC. NWA spoke to the reality of their life in South Central Ken. Ironically their song Fuck Da Police is so relevant to what's going on right now

NWA was talking about killing blacks, and the racist white record companies loved it. They were able to get blacks to make songs about killing each other, and the record companies were making a profit off of it, and they still are.

This is the only excuse people have to take the blame off of NWA's being responsible for ruining rap/hip hop. Their lyrics are trash. I don't understand how they got away with glorifying raping or killing women, children, etc. |

Couldn't agree with you more on this issue. Label companies were and still is promoting negative images of black people and our culture. Knowingly, corporate America flock to those who lack the knowledge/pride of their people to promote an image they desire. The argument "negative behavior of blacks sales" is BS. Corporate America will promote, sale and introduce those rappers that willingly sale their soul for fame and riches. In a interview, Rapper Kool Moe Dee said a record promoter told him in order to get a label contract he needed to be more vulgar. Kool Moe Dee, an educated brother instructed to dumb down to come up on some cash. XClan, the socially conscious rap group spreading the Afrocentric message throughout the community received just a fraction of the recognition NWA got. Why, NWA were willing to denigrate their people for a dollar. Okay million of dollars. But it doesn't alter the fact that Corp. Amer. manufactured a negative image that would be unacceptable to any other ethnic group. Edited by Backbone, Aug 10 2015, 09:08 PM.
