I looked at the criteria for Miss America.

The age range is 17 to 24.

Should the Mr. Black American age range be 17 to 24?

Beauty pageants are childish and dumb. :D
I must agree with you. Outer beauty is temporary and trifling short.

It wouldn't be very entertaining if it were only looks. And maybe "beauty contest" wouldn't do it justice.

The judging is where it delves deeper.

What qualities would you like Truthie, Plus 1, CHI, red, moon?
I'm not interested in any physical characteristics; tall, short, etc...

Rather what are his gifts? Is he using them to make his environment a safer, cleaner, better, place to live? How does he respond to oppression, authority?

I'd have a long list of questions to ask him! :-)

His character and how he used it in the world would be what I'd look at.

Yes, absolutely!

We'd want a socially responsible individual to hold the title. Part of his duties could include opportunities to reach out and motivate.

Couldn't it be a great way to motivate young guys? The prize could include a scholarship. 📚

We could have a pool of potential candidates from youth organizations, high schools, volunteer programs, fraternities and colleges.... This is sounding better and bette to me. We could do a Miss Black America version, too. :)

Someone will say it's "racist".

How about how much money he has.. How tall he is.. how muscular he is.. how much he can make woman laugh.. How dominant he is.. How much he looks like he would be good in bed.. I would think Mr Black America should reflect real life in what makes a man valuable to women... Otherwise I think it may confuse young black men into thinking all them other characteristics matter to women... Especially in that age range of 17-24
