Russian 'straight' flag to combat 'gay-fever' Russian President Vladimir Putin's ruling party has unveiled a 'straight flag' to counteract the rainbow flag used worldwide as a symbol for gay pride and LGBT rights. The United Russia party revealed the flag on the country's annual Day of Family, Love and Fidelity - the Russian equivalent of St. Valentines day, which is viewed as a dangerous foreign concoction. The party claims the flag, showing a father, mother and three children against a plain background, is intended to honour the nuclear family and traditional Russian values. Deputy head of Moscow's United Russia branch Andrey Lisovenko is quoted as saying the flag's introduction is a response to same-sex marriage and a 'warning against gay-fever'. Lisovenko is also reportedly moving to ban use of the rainbow flag within Russia, including online and on social media. The flag comes complete with its own hashtag (as all good flags should), helping Russians represent the #realfamily. Shyt.. Maybe I need to visit Russia.. How's the black population doing there?? Good to see a nation as big as Russia having the same values as me and not bowing down to homo fever |
