I see, since your work life involve prying into personal affairs of your clients that make it OK to do the same to anybody. Your clients and Ms Franklin are two different books. Let's say it is true......... what then? Would you like for your life to be exposed if something like this happened to you or someone in your family? You have already pointed out she looked weary....... she's fighting her publisher about something perhaps this part of her life she does not want to deal with publicly. Everyone deserves some privacy. And before you try to spring your fake claws about any damn thing I've said let's just say I'm not going to get into a shouting match with you or your co-hort I stated my opinion don't need to go any further. BTW you really don't know too much about anything. |

If my father had raped me, I would talk about it openly to the public. |

That's just you Ciss....everybody does not feel the same way about those issues. And no one has the right to try to force it out of her IE; the publishers, if that's what their beef is about the book. Everyone does not need attention...at least not that kind. |

Well Aretha must have released the information to the public. There's no other way for it to have gotten out. |

Classic case of alway having an opine..
See. Now, because I've have much respect for another person on this site, I will not do to you, what you have no problem doing to others. However, rest assured, I will not continue to allow you are anyone else, to think that spouting off, is acceptable to me. I know how to spout also. Edited by reddgirl64, Jun 30 2015, 04:00 PM.

Aretha doesn't have to tell her story, however, she doesn't have the right to stop the story from being told. She is a public figure. She is entitled to some measure of privacy, however, there was a young girl raped (public information) by her father. That young girl has a story. The black community, especially the religious community, always wants to turn a blind eye, to all the evil under it's roof. This man stood in a pulpit on Sunday's, preaching about sin, and now, Aretha and Memdear, says leave him alone. Tell them to say that to that young girl, and all the other girls, who he raped!! |

I'm sorry for Aretha... I really am, because she's protecting her parents and carrying the impact of their indifference on herself. And I think that she's feeling embarrassed, worrying if people will gossip about her. If only someone could have an intimate talk with her about it and show her that it's okay, and nothing wrong with it coming out to the public. |

Ciss....did either of you think about the impact on the kid(s), by parading this kind of mess around the world. Not only are you trying to ruin the rest of her life, but you're now instigating something destructive to the off-spring who had nothing to do with. True they are adults now but they are also human. Wherever this came from they need to be sued up the yin-yang for defamation of character for starters.I still say it's wrong to try to force her to go public if she doesn't want to,IF it's true. And Redd should have left it where she found it. It's so easy to meddle in someones business and leave ones own to go awry. |

Of course I thought of that Memdear... I'm always thinking of the welfare of children. But I would like to know how the story got out. |
