Aretha raped by her father?
That's possible.
A lot of fathers rape their daughters.
She had her first child at 13, got pregnant at 12. It is also rumored that her second child is by Sam Cooke. She was in love with him, however, he was kinda too old for her, but it seems they got it on. She will not name who fathered her first two children, although, she admits, they are by different fathers. Mr. Franklin left this church, because he did impregnate a 13 year old girl, and the ousted him, and the church paid off the family, to not discuss the situation.
It should be noticed the instinct of men sweeping their vices under the rug, and everyone else supporting it. Which really defeats the common preconceived idea that children without a father is disadvantaged. I wouldn't be surprised to hear Aretha herself make such a claim. Do you post this nonsense when it comes to White men? Do You create this post when you know for a fact that reddgirl's racist Caucasoid forefather/ancestors/Slave owners raped our family raped our darkskinned-Black 12yr-old daughters and our beautiful darkskinned-women, yet...
you ever create threads about those perverts, you ever create posts attacking those racist pedophiles, you ever create posts showing compassion for those darkskinned-Black females?

I recently saw Aretha meeting with Pres. Obama. She looked aged and weary.
It made me want to really delve into here life. I've heard/read the rumors of her father, being her oldest child's dad, however, I've never really saw the son.
Take a look at these images, they look like twins! Mr. Franklin was known to like 'very young' girls...
There is a documentary being made, that she is fighting to stop from being released. At this point, if it's true about her being molested by her dad, she really needs to deal with that trauma, and let it go. She was a child, she had no control over that monster, and needs to realize, that is wasn't her fault.
What's your purpose of intruding into this black woman's' life What do you get out of it?. If it happened as you suspect let her deal with it in her own way, if she hasn't already. Exposure does no more than hurt all over again...and why do we need to know this? We nor she can change it so leave it alone.
Well Ms. Reddi didn't expose it Memdear, someone else did. Quit lying, to protect haters of Black men.
Show where someone else posted this at, before reddgirl.

I'm not asking Aretha to tell the world her story, I was interested. I also said, if any of it's true, she needs to deal with it. Never said she had to deal with it publicly.
As to what I get out of it, learn! Her life, if she chose to tell it, or if others talk about it, can give a profile on what a predator does, how they manipulate young children, how the church hides and covers it up, how a mother tried to fight, but just didn't know how,
You see, life offers learning experiences.
Your's would probably be a learning lesson also.

Well Ms. Reddi didn't expose it Memdear, someone else did. Memdear doesn't like this post, personally, for a reason..

I wonder if that would be your response, if whites told you to stop bitching about slavery? Memdear's reaction isn't racial, but an example of what I just pointed out, how men sweep their vices under the rug and how everyone else supports it. As the church kept the Franklin family business silent, Memdear is attempting to do the same thing. And the trauma of it is the fact that there's no instinct to protect children or learn from the example or experience. If a man rapes his child, people's instinct is to protect his vice and remain silent about it.

If a white person told her to let sleeping dogs, stay asleep, would she just say, ok.
I know, she's indicative of that behavior. Protect the abuser, as much as possible, don't air the dirty laundry, cover your eyes and ears, etc..
Then they whine, about why no one wants to help them with their problems.

Not true. A lot of fathers do not rape their daughters.
However, among boy friends, step fathers, and others not related but known to the child, molestation and other crimes against children, have a higher occurrence. (Not trying to derail your thread...)
Ok, continue.

Not true. A lot of fathers do not rape their daughters. Yes Truthie.
Many do.
The reason this doesn't seem so is the fact that people remain silent about it and it doesn't come out in the wash, and if it ever does, it's not usually until many years later, like when the victim is middle aged, approaching middle age, or elderly. How the father raped his child over the years. It's more come common than you think.
In fact, I was doing some research on that recently and found that the police don't have an accurate estimate of the percentage because most cases go unreported. So they are roughly estimating that about somewhere around a million cases of incest with fathers occurs in the US annually. And you have mothers raping their sons too, but it's not nearly as common as with fathers.
