When we got home, I'd ask him what was the problem.
Huh?
My husband wouldn't do that for no reason.

It would likely be code for "I'm hungry but don't want this food".
I must have missed something. This other woman offered to make him a plate of food. Did I miss something involving him with her?
The other woman makes the plate of food, and brings it, Snidely.
So he's in hot water for accepting the offer?
No hot water in the place, Snidely. He'd probably tell me he saw a fly on the food or the host dig in their butt then flip a burger on the grill.

So this, "I'd ask him what was the problem" meant nothing?

It means I want to know why he'd say that, because MY husband wouldn't say that without a reason.

MY husband would go make a plate for him and me.

If he said he's hungry but didn't go make the plate, I'd know it's code for something else.

Why he'd say what? ie, thanks, yes I would like a plate?

Aye, aye, aye.
Why he'd say "I'm hungry" but not go make a plate.

Well, I would get my man's plate to be honest.
That's unfair.

See, bcuz you're cut from a different mold than the other women posting here.

He did say I'm hungry to you hypothetically. The woman overheard, so it wasn't aimed at anyone other than you.

Well I guess I'll bite. If I had a husband and he asked me to fix him a plate. He would have a reason for doing so and I would oblige. Otherwise he would fix his own and get what he wanted out of the smorgasbord.

Exactly. There would've been a reason.

But, the question asks how you would react if some other woman fixed his plate and brought it to him.

I'd thank her and encourage her to go get mine. :)

What would you do? :D

I'd probably say something like "Your husband/guy will appreciate it more, I'll take care of mine thank you!"
