These are the main foods that small kids choke on, if you are a parent you need to be aware of giving your kids these foods.

Hot dogs are one of the most dangerous foods that you can give a child under 5 years of age. Studies say that if you are going to give your child a hot dog cut it up into small pieces.

When a child is choking they lose oxygen to the brain within 3 minutes, which can cause brain damage.

Here is a list of the main foods that kids choke on.

1. Carrots

2. Hot dogs

3. Grapes

4. Nuts

5. Popcorn

6. Hard candy (very dangerous)

7. Seeds that's in watermelons (take seeds out)

8. Bones

9. Chewing gum

10. Peanut butter (hard for kids to swallow)

Don't allow kids to run and play with food in their mouths, and don't allow kids to lay down while eating.

In church a few months ago a child almost got choked. The little boy was eating candy and then he laid down and the candy got stuck in his throat. Everybody in church almost panicked, the little boys father was nervous he turned the little boy upside down and started shaking the little boy. That didn't seem to work, then the mother started hitting the little boy in the back and after a minute or so the candy flew out of the little boys mouth, that kid could have choked to death. Parents stick anything in their kids mouth, and most of them don't even know CPR.
