My sister brought this dish over to share & I asked how she made it. She copied the recipe off of her Facebook and here it is: Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff Ingredients 1lb round top steak, trimmed and cut into 1/4-inch thick slices 1 cup chopped onion 2 tablespoons fresh parsley 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon dried dill 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 8oz sliced mushrooms (about 2 cups) 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 3 cloves garlic, minced 1/3 cup flour 1 cup beef broth 2 tablespoons cream cheese 8oz sour cream Directions Place steak, onion, parsley, Dijon mustard, salt, dried dill, black pepper, sliced mushrooms, and garlic into the slow cooker. Stir well In a small bowl combine flour, Worcestershir sauce, and broth, whisking until well blended. Add broth mixture to slow cooker, then stir well. Cover with lid and cook on high heat for 1 hour, then reduce the heat to low and cook for another 7 to 8 hours or until steak is tender. Before serving, stir in the cream cheese, and cook covered on high for another 10 minutes. Stir in the sour cream, then serve over rice or egg noodles. Garnish with fresh dill or parsley Recipe adapted from Cooking Light |

I love this cucumber salad a great lady shared with me! :-) Thinly sliced cucumbers Thinly sliced sweet onion Shredded carrot Kosher salt & dill to taste 2/3 part water 1/3 part apple cider vinegar Mix it all together in a bowl, put a lid on & let it sit in the fridge a couple of hours before serving. It's very cool, refreshing & hydrating; especially on a hot day! |

If you don't want to use canned tomatoes, roast fresh ones! If you have lots of fresh, roast them in the oven with olive oil, garlic, onion, and salt. If the are big you core them, if little just pop the stems off. Roast at 375 for 40 minutes, let cool, and blend in a blender or use and immersion blender. This alone is a delicious sauce but you can add any thing else to this you want. Then make Pasta Sauce! Ingredients ¼ cup olive oil 1 cup chopped onions 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes 6 ounce can tomato paste 1 teaspoon oregano 1 Tablespoon basil ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon pepper ½ cup white wine Instructions In large sauce pan heat oil and add onions and garlic cook unil tender. Add stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, pepper and wine. Cook for 30 minutes on low. With a hand blender puree sauce well. |

Truthie, you have to really enjoy garlic! This recipe is strong and the after taste stays in your mouth all day after you eat them! Make sure whoever you are kissing eats them too so it's not too obnoxious! I like to make these a day ahead then cook some pasta, let it cool then toss the whole thing together in a pretty bowl! It makes a light meatless meal! Maybe top it with grated Parmesan cheese? Serve a big huge fresh salad with it! I hope this helps! Enjoy! :-) |
