I'm lagging behind in uploading my recipes and cooking experiences. I plan to share more next week.

This morning I rose early to make a batch of homemade croissants. They turned out perfect and my sisters were over for breakfast.

I boiled each an egg, I served fresh apples and grapes, freshly squeezed orange juice, cubed sharp cheddar cheese, hot tea, and a freshly baked homemade croissant! The croissant was tender and flaky and buttery. There was no need to add butter to it. It melted, in our mouths.

This is a recipe I'd like. :)

Do you ever cook or eat, quinoa?

Yes, I do. I use it just like I'd use rice in a dish.

The brand I buy is supposedly already rinsed and ready to go, but I rinse it again just in case.

I like the flavor. It is almost nutty, lightly toasted flavor. I have a recipe that has chopped apples and vegetables mixed into it. :-)

It's got a gritty texture if it's not rinced well. That crunchy grit is horrible! I will rince it before cooking, also! Great idea.

:-) Thank you kindly, for caring enough to mention it! :-)

I'm learning to cook to stay healthy. Making homemade food from scratch is healthier than buying pre made or processed food.

Plus I exercise daily!

My new recipe!

Joys flaky pie crust
2.5 cups flour
2/3 cup canola oil
Add enough water to make one cup
Salt to taste
Stir liquid in with a fork until it makes a dough. Roll it between wax paper.
Makes 2 nine inch pie crusts (top and bottom)

Brussels Sprouts Hash with Eggs

4 cups fresh Brussels Sprouts, finely chopped
Salt & pepper to taste
1 Tablespoon butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
6 black olives, chopped
Lemon juice of 1/2 lemon
2 large eggs

Place shredded Brussels Sprouts in bowl with salt & pepper, melt butter in non stick pan add sprouts, cooking and tossing them around for about a min or two. Add olives and mix another minute.

Crack eggs on top of sprouts, pour in 2 Tablespoons water, cover pan and steam eggs for a few minutes until the whites are completely cooked through, sprinkle lemon juice over everything before serving.

Serves 2

I'm going to make this for my sisters in a couple of weeks when they stop by. I'm serving this with a fresh fruit salad and if I'm adventurous, I'll make homemade croissants again!

I love learning how to cook! :-)

I'm eating hot dogs and pop corn this weekend. I'll swim extra laps in my pool to make up for it.
