I'm doing this tonight, along with an oven-toasted garlic chicken, and garlic-parmesan mashed potatoes.

(I'll be using turkey bacon.)

Truthie's Garlic-Roasted chicken

If you have time before hand, place chicken in marinade of apple-cider vinegar for an hour or so.

Put lots of powdered garlic on it, along with (less) Lawry's seasoned salt, sea salt (just a little), and black restaurant-quality pepper (if you don't sneeze, add more).

Roast in the oven until it's done.

It will be delish.

I've really come to appreciate Brussel Sprouts these days.

I'm growing a few plants (brusselsprouts) in my back yard.

My family only eats them with Parmesan cheese so this will be different for them.

Brussels Sprouts are something I need to learn to make! My husband loves them. His mama cooks them with bacon, fresh garlic, and onions until they are almost black. She cuts them in half before adding them to the cast iron skillet, letting them soak up the flavors.

Then right before it's finished, she tosses in a can of Italian Roasted Tomates. She makes this side dish with pork chops.

I've watched her make it over and over but it doesn't taste like hers. I need to find my own style of cooking. Although her dish, is good!

My next cooking class lessons are going to be centered on Cinco de Mayo...

I'm excited to see what we make!

Well, my family loved the B-sprouts I made last night. There were no leftovers at all.

I used half a leftover beef sausage link, chopped for flavor and fat, 1 whole sweet onion, and cooked them together until onions were soft and then threw in b-sprouts (already cut in half). And then you cook and cook until carmalized. Add a little salt if you like, maybe a teensy bit of butter if you're so inclined and it's done.

Easy peasy. :)

True, true indeed.

Although I only read one person here posting unhealthy Brussel Sprouts prep. So on a healthy note... since this is one of the sole most nutritious foods, it makes little sense to cook away all of it's health benefits.

So if you cook by steaming them, it prevents that.
