Today's ham in class was pretty basic. It was a spiral ham with the bone still intact. We followed the instructions that came with it. While it baked we made the potato side dish.

Potato & Leek Mini Gratins

6-8 Potatoes of your choice, washed
1 bunch of leeks, washed
1/4 lb Gruyere cheese, shredded
Olive oil
Salt & pepper
Milk
Regular muffin pan

- Peel & slice potatoes thinly
- Slice the white part of the leek, thinly
- Drizzle tiny amounts of olive oil in each muffin cup
- Divide shredded cheese evenly among the muffin cups
- Layer potato slices & leeks in muffin cups
- Top with salt / pepper to taste
- Put 2 - 3 TBS milk in each cup
- Cover pan with tin foil and bake 375 degrees for 20 mins.
- Remove foil and bake 25 + more until brown & bubbly

Let them cool slightly before removing from the pan

Enjoy!

I signed up for Blue Apron's mailing list for recipes. I think its a great idea. A little expensive per person but it's certainly convenient. :)

...hmmmm...

that can even morph into a pretty decent community-outreach or community-uplift effort, as well...sort of like "self-preservation" of Blackfolk in a sense. Sort of taking the decades-old, meals-on-wheels concept, to cyberspace.

I was a member of emeals.
I was a member of The Fresh 20.
I was a member of the BetterGourmet.

They each have their pros.

But just haven't been a fit for the way I eat and how I want my food to taste.
